Brazil has a high energy potential taking into account the region with the lowest solar radiation index in our territory, located in the state of Santa Catarina, it is observed that it is higher than several other regions in the world, especially in comparison with countries that stand out in implementation and investment of the sector. The present study aims to present a brief analysis of the concept of photovoltaic solar energy generation, providing a history of implementation in our country, also presenting a current panorama, government incentives through energy policy and future perspectives. It was not intended to carry out a case study for the implementation of a system, nor to present statistical comparisons with other nations.
