Nahdlatul Ulama as The Main Actor Managing and Resetting Civilization in The Digital Era

The Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) organization was established on Rajab 16, 1344 (January 31, 1926), initiated by Hadratussyaikh KH. Muhammad Hasyim Asy’ari in Surabaya, Indonesia. NU, whose age has turned a century (one hundred years), considers that the understanding and mastery of literacy and technology in the digital era possessed by the Nahdliyin (the citizens affiliated to or members of NU) and the Indonesian general public occupy a fundamental position. It is not only within the scope of religion but also socio-political, cultural education, intolerance, stereotypes, radicalism, and terrorism threatening the unity and peace of the international world, the Indonesian nation, and the Nahdliyin in particular. This study employed the Q-DAS (Qualitative Data Analysis Software) approach incorporating a combined model of literature review and netnography on the “TVNU” YouTube channel, social media accounts of ulama (Kyai) of Nahdlatul Ulama, and moderate Islamic websites managed by cyber and network teams affiliated with Nahdlatul Ulama. The present research aimed to observe and analyze the role of NU as the main actor in reorganizing and creating harmony in humankind and realizing world peace by strengthening literacy in the digital era to commemorate the centenary of its establishment.

Redefining ‘Careers’ and ‘Sustainable Careers’: A Qualitative Study with University Students

Contemporary society challenges traditional linear career progressions with the emergence of the ‘sustainable career’ concept. This dynamic career path spans different societal domains over time and involves individuals actively shaping their paths through actions and the interpretation of their experiences. The evolving socioeconomic contexts demand a reevaluation of career development processes, necessitating an examination of individual perspectives on what makes a career authentically sustainable. Despite this, in the Italian and Spanish contexts, a definition of the concept of career and sustainable careers rooted in individuals’ interpretations is still absent. This qualitative study is designed to fill the existing gap by exploring the definition of the concepts of ‘career’ and ‘sustainable career’ in an initial sample of Italian (N = 197) and Spanish (N = 193) students (323 females, 67 males) aged 18–30 years (M = 20.13; SD = 2.13). Participants answered open-ended questions about ‘career’ and ‘sustainable career’. Qualitative data analysis software identified key themes, and correspondence analysis explored differences between the Italian and Spanish samples. The findings reveal that the concept of a career encompasses an evolving sequence of work experiences, incorporating training pathways, a continuous commitment to personal growth goals, and professional satisfaction. A sustainable career extends this, emphasizing a healthy work–life balance and the often-overlooked dimension of social empowerment. This study offers a perspective for designing research and interventions aimed at promoting careers and work environments perceived as authentically sustainable.

Feasibility and acceptability of the use of flash glucose monitoring encountered by Indigenous Australians with type 2 diabetes mellitus: initial experiences from a pilot study

BackgroundType 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is highly prevalent within the Indigenous Australian community. Novel glucose monitoring technology offers an accurate approach to glycaemic management, providing real-time information on glucose levels and trends. The acceptability and feasibilility of this technology in Indigenous Australians with T2DM has not been investigated.ObjectiveThis feasibility phenomenological study aims to understand the experiences of Indigenous Australians with T2DM using flash glucose monitoring (FGM).MethodsIndigenous Australians with T2DM receiving injectable therapy (n = 8) who used FGM (Abbott Freestyle Libre) for 6-months, as part of a clinical trial, participated in semi-structured interviews. Thematic analysis of the interviews was performed using NVivo12 Plus qualitative data analysis software (QSR International).ResultsSix major themes emerged: 1) FGM was highly acceptable to the individual; 2) FGM’s convenience was its biggest benefit; 3) data from FGM was a tool to modify lifestyle choices; 4) FGM needed to be complemented with health professional support; 5) FGM can be a tool to engage communities in diabetes management; and 6) cost of the device is a barrier to future use.ConclusionsIndigenous Australians with T2DM had positive experiences with FGM. This study highlights future steps to ensure likelihood of FGM is acceptable and effective within the wider Indigenous Australian community.

Opportunities to Improve Access to and Retention in the Child and Adult Care Food Program: Key Recommendations From Early Childcare Providers in Illinois, December 2020-July 2021.

Objectives. To identify recommendations to improve access to and retention in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) as critical strategies to address health equity for low-income children. Methods. We conducted a qualitative key informant study of early childcare center and home providers (n = 35) in low-income urban and rural census tracts in Illinois between December 2020 and July 2021. Interviews with providers were organized and analyzed by the study team in MAXQDA Qualitative Data Analysis software. Themes were refined and finalized via member checking with an expert panel of providers and advocates. Results. Overall, providers spoke positively of the benefits of CACFP participation. Themes that centered around strategies to improve awareness of and access to CACFP included (1) conducting systematic statewide outreach, (2) improving technical assistance for enrollment, and (3) supporting positive sponsor-provider relationships. Themes related to retention included (1) alleviating procurement burdens, (2) extending reimbursement rates, and (3) expanding flexibilities. Conclusions. Policymakers looking to increase access to and retention in CACFP could consider state-level strategies such as systematic outreach and more targeted technical assistance. Abstract A062: Intersecting acculturation and decision making about cancer screening among sub-Saharan African immigrant men: A qualitative study

Abstract Background: Sub-Saharan African immigrant (SSAI) men constitute one of the fastest-growing immigrant populations in the United States and a large heterogeneous group in cancer survivorship. Yet research has ignored decision making about health and behavioral risk factors among SSAI communities. Intersecting acculturation and culture-specific perceptions about cancer screening within decision-making frameworks may be an essential step towards developing meaningful interventions for immigrant men’s healthcare. Objectives: This study aimed to gain insight into cancer-related beliefs and health decision-making practices among sub-Saharan African immigrant men. Methods: A qualitative design intersecting grounded theory analysis was employed using 16 semi-structured, in-depth individual interviews with SSAI men residing in Georgia and Florida. Participants were recruited from health fairs, community events, and by snowball effect. The average age of participants was 51 years with country of birth including Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria. An interview guide was prepared with emphasis on SSAI’s perspectives on lifestyle factors for cancer and decision making about cancer screening. Data were audio-recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using open, inductive, and axial coding via NVivo 12 qualitative data analysis software. Results: Findings identified key cultural factors impacting barriers to and facilitators of SSAI men’s decision-making processes and health-seeking behaviors. Most participants making positive decisions reflected on intercultural health practices made in collaboration with clinicians, significant others and community partnerships. Most participants with negative decisions tended to consider socio-cultural barriers and shortcomings in US health-care system. Participants’ preventative care decisions about cancer screening differed. Conclusions: This qualitative study illuminated key cultural factors among SSAI men that influenced their decision making about cancer screening and health-seeking behaviors. Future research should investigate longitudinal and quantitative studies to test decision-making outcomes. Influence Of Principals’ Leadership Practices on Collaborative School Culture in Public Secondary Schools in Tiaty East and Tiaty West Sub-Counties, Kenya.

An ideal collaborative school culture in the two sub-counties should entail teacher’s collaboration, teacher’s involvements in decision-making practices, effective open communication and high teacher motivation. The current situation in Tiaty East and Tiaty West sub counties is that the area is plagued by poverty and frequent banditry, this has made the school environment in the areas to be hostile and the safety of both the learner and the teacher is not assured. A hostile school culture of collaboration can cause the problem of poor performance to persist since there are no harmonious relations among teachers, and teachers work in isolation. As a result, the principals’ task is to create an enabling school climate towards the creation of a collaborative culture of the school. The purpose of this study was to find out influence of school principals’ leadership practices on collaborative school culture in public secondary schools in Tiaty East and Tiaty west sub-counties. The objectives of this study were : to determine influence of principals’ mentorship practices on collaborative school culture and to establish how principals’ communication practices influence collaborative school culture. The research approach was the qualitative research and a cross-cultural study design with two cases and multiple units of analysis within each case. This study was grounded on the perspective that valuable insights about the issue of principal leadership practices and collaborative school culture can be obtained from a target population of 77 comprising of principals (1), teachers (156), support staff (276) and student leaders (328). A sample of 161 respondents; 1 principals, 31 teachers, 56 support staff and 64 student leaders was selected using purposeful sampling. The main instrument for primary data collection was use of interview schedules for principals, teachers and support staff and focus group discussion guides for student leaders. Data analysis was done using Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software (CAQDA); ATLAS. Ti 9. The study found that the principals invited mentors for staff development to improve collaboration, ultimately positively impacting on student outcomes to promote a collaborative secondary school culture. Moreover, on principals communication practices, school meetings and social media especially Whatsapp groups are used to engage the school community in communication.The study concluded that principal's mentorship practices, and principal's communication practices are integral and symbiotic in creating a positive and collaborative school culture. On building positive collaborativecultures, the study is beneficial to future researchers in the field as they can expound more on other principals’ leadership practices and it will also contribute to existing research data. The study recommended that principals should involve teachers and other stakeholders in mentorship process in the schools. Why they willingly become victims of dating violence: a phenomenological study based on female adolescent perspective

Dating has become a trend in today's youth. Psychological conditions are still unstable and are one of the triggers for violence among adolescents, and in general, female adolescents become victims. However, the female adolescents maintained the relationship. Therefore, this study aimed to conduct a phenomenological study of dating violence among female adolescents. This research is included in the type of qualitative research. Data were obtained from five key informants and five triangular informants who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data was collected using 14 questions items submitted using the In-depth Interview technique. The interview results were transcribed using computer aided qualitative data analysis software. Based on the results of the interviews, dating is a form of self-actualization to get love and to exist among adolescents. They hope the current partner can become a life partner when they have a family. This is their reason for tolerating physical, psychological, or sexual violence perpetrated by their partner. So, female adolescents are aware that they experience violence. However, they could not avoid it because they hoped their current partner would become a life partner These results confirm the urgency for adolesence dating violence (ADV) program implementation.

How do transport companies execute strategies in a volatile environment? A qualitative inquiry

PurposeThe purpose of this study was to explore how transport companies in Uganda execute strategies in a turbulent business environment.Design/methodology/approachThe study adopted an exploratory qualitative methodology using the data collected through an open-ended instrument. Utilizing the qualitative data analysis software QSR NVivo9, the data were analyzed following the Gioia's methodology. Verbatim texts were used to explain the emergent themes.FindingsThe study's findings show that to successfully execute strategies, companies in Uganda communicate, coordinate and put control systems in their operations. The activities undertaken include customer care, timely settlement of complaints, comfortable seats, playing local music, partnerships with reliable fuel stations, setting up strategic offices, cost management, use of experienced drivers, sub-renting vehicles and inspections.Originality/valueThe study produces a pioneering result of how transport companies execute strategies in a turbulent business environment, an aspect that has not been adequately highlighted in previous studies.

Perspectives of organizational culture in the Brazilian oil, gas and biofuels companies

Purpose The purpose of this study is to analyze the aspects of the organizational culture (OC) of companies operating in the Brazilian oil, gas and biofuels (O&G) sector based on semistructured interviews with managers of these organizations and its content analysis. Design/methodology/approach This research was conducted based on semistructured interviews with 12 managers of Brazilian O&G companies and analyzed with a computer-assisted qualitative data analysis software, namely, MAXQDA™. Findings The results make it possible to obtain the perception of managers about OC, generally understood as a set of attributes and variables of social order, supported by the historical–culturalist theoretical approach. Information about the explicit and implicit manifestation of culture, as well as the evaluation of the most appropriate research instruments and metrics, were also obtained after the interviews. Originality/value This study presents detailed results about OC and its characteristics in the perception of managers of the O&G companies that operate in the Brazilian market.

The impact of classroom climate on emotional development in childhood

This research article examines the crucial role of a healthy classroom climate in the social-emotional development of students during childhood. A positive classroom climate has been associated with several positive outcomes, including increased academic success, development of intrapersonal skills, and improvement in the quality of interpersonal relationships. The main objective is to explore the impact of the classroom climate on the comprehensive development of children. The study employs a qualitative approach, using multiple case studies to collect rich and detailed data. Data analysis is carried out using computer-aided qualitative data analysis (CAQDAS) software, specifically the ATLAS program, to generate categories that allow for in-depth analysis. The findings underscore the importance of considering the classroom climate as a key factor in promoting general well-being and positive social-emotional outcomes among young learners, and the importance of creating a nurturing and supportive classroom environment to foster optimal emotional development in children.

QOL-24. FINANCIAL AID REQUESTS BY BRAIN TUMOR PATIENTS IN ONTARIO THROUGH GOFUNDME

Abstract Brain tumors affect individuals globally including Ontario residents. Numerous Ontario brain tumor patients suffer the unequal burden of responsibility to pay for treatments like oral chemotherapy. In addition to chemotherapy, patients and their families have other costs associated with their diagnosis. However, less is known about other direct and indirect financial costs due to their diagnosis. GoFundMe, an online fundraising platform, provides worldwide brain tumor patients the opportunity to raise money for financial assistance with costs associated with their diagnosis The purpose of this study was to analyze publicly-available data from GoFundMe, an online fundraising platform, to explore the financial needs of brain tumor patients across Ontario, unaware and/or unable to get assistance elsewhere. A qualitative descriptive design drawing on thematic analysis was used to analyze GoFundMe requests to support individuals diagnosed with brain cancer in Ontario between 2014 and 2021. A coding framework was created to determine emerging themes using qualitative data analysis software NVivo 10. A final sample of 154 requests described financial strain from the loss of income experienced by the patient and their caregivers to afford cancer treatments. Requests highlighted 1) an overall lack of awareness of how and where access financial aid and affordable psychosocial support; 2) concerns over the long-term financial well-being of bereaving family members; 3) A call for more public awareness of the financial burden and emotional distress experienced by of those impacted by brain cancer. These GoFundMe requests highlight a connection between financial burden and emotional distress and an overall lack of awareness of where/how to seek financial and emotional support. These results will serve as the foundation to advocate for and raise awareness of the financial assistance needed by brain tumor patients and their families.

DISP-05. UNDERSTANDING THE INDIVIDUAL CHALLENGES AND EXPERIENCES OF YOUNG ADULTS WITH A DIAGNOSIS OF GLIOBLASTOMA AND HIGH-GRADE ASTROCYTOMA

Abstract High-grade gliomas are highly aggressive and fatal primary malignant brain tumors in adults with ineffective existing treatment methods. Older adults are greatly impacted by high-grade gliomas as they are more common among this population. Young adults (individuals aged 18-39) are uniquely impacted by high-grade glioma. However, there are few resources and information available to address these unique needs. The purpose of this study is to explore the lived experience of this population to inform the development of resources to help address their specific needs. A qualitative descriptive design drawing on thematic analysis was chosen to conduct and analyze interviews with young adult high-grade glioma patients at the Princess Margaret Cancer Center. Interviews focused on patient experiences as a high-grade glioma patient at Princess Margaret Cancer Center, the challenges they face and changes they would like implemented. A coding framework was created to determine emerging themes using qualitative data analysis software NVivo 10. To date, 5 interviews (1 men; 4 women; age range 19-37) have been completed. Interviews described the challenges living with high-grade glioma as a young adult and the changes in resources and support services patients would like implemented. Experiences highlighted 1) difficulty accepting this change in life and disruptions brought upon life goals and plans at the young adult age; 2) an overall lack of young adult high-grade glioma specific education, advocacy and support resources 3) A call for more community building and connecting so patients do not feel alone through this diagnosis. These patient interviews highlight a connection between the young adult age and high-grade glioma diagnosis and the challenges experienced and the services required. These results will serve as the foundation to advocate for the creation of tools that cater to patient needs of young adult high-grade glioma patients.

Perceptions of Airbnb’s impact beyond the tourist bubbles of Cusco, Peru: an exploration of resident irritability

PurposeSpecifically, this study aims to examine residents’ perceptions regarding the following: the sociocultural, environmental and economic impacts generated by the presence of Airbnb and the irritability caused by the presence of Airbnb based on Doxey’s Doxey (1975) irritation index (i.e. index).Design/methodology/approachTwenty-one semistructured in-depth interviews were conducted between February and March 2021 with residents of three condominiums in the Huancaro residential complex. Data were analyzed using the qualitative data analysis software ATLAS.ti 8.FindingsResults showed that participants perceived negative economic impacts regarding investments, jobs, real estate prices and overall cost of living; negative sociocultural impacts regarding criminality, social conflicts and cultural exchange; and negative environmental impacts regarding sanitation in the context of the pandemic and the state of the Airbnb apartments. Further, it was found that participants related to the following three of the four stages of irritability: euphoria, apathy and annoyance.Research limitations/implicationsIt is necessary to complement the information with the perceptions of the residents about the city’s authorities and managers in the hotel business before the stage of the COVID-19 pandemic and the current stage.Practical implicationsThe study identifies improve Airbnb operations like establishing health paraments and defining cohabitation rules at the condominiums.Social implicationsThe residents consider that visitors’ returns produce positive and negative impacts on the quality of life being important for understanding their perceptions.Originality/valueShort-term rental companies, such as Airbnb, generate a range of impacts on urban residents, particularly when travelers encroach on areas of the city beyond the traditional “tourist bubbles.” This study explored the perceptions of Airbnb’s impacts on activities among residents of Huancaro, a residential section of Cusco-Peru, in the context of tourism reopening after a year of an almost complete halt in tourism activities because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The study also highlighted the heterogenetic responses to Airbnb within the community.

A Content Analysis of Consumer Feedback on ‘Teddy Tour Berlin’ Within the Concept of Toy Tourism

With changing consumer trends and technological developments, the nature of tourism has evolved. Online platforms have made it easier for tourists to share their experiences and evaluations of the services they have consumed. Evaluating tourism services is often possible only after consumption, increasing consumer feedback's effectiveness. This study aims to analyze the comments written by individuals on the website of Teddy Tour Berlin, an agency specializing in toy tourism. In the study, 34 comments from 2005 to February 1, 2022, interpreting the comments, have been analyzed using Maxqda qualitative data analysis software. A total of 182 codes were derived from 1016 words, and six main themes were identified, including positive reviews, materials provided, experiences, friendship, and suggestions and advice for the agency. The coding analysis indicates that nearly half of the comments (47.83%) consisted of positive opinions.

A SUCCESSFUL STRATEGY OF POLITICAL PARTY CAMPAIGN AHEAD OF ELECTION IN DEVELOPED COUNTRIES

This study aims to analyze the arts performed by political parties before the democratic era of disruption. Information and communication technology development has forced political parties to be enthusiastic about using the internet, including social media. The internet and social media are inseparable; social media is a nomenclature of the communication art of political parties that goes according to their wishes. This study uses a qualitative data analysis software approach (QDAS) and bibliometrics with the help of VosViewer and Nvivo 12 software. The research data sources use 428 articles from the Scopus database. The data search phase uses the keywords "Communications" and "Political Parties" from 2015-2021. The analysis results show that the arts performed by pre-democratic political parties are candidate, election, campaign, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, being the main keywords that appear. The findings of this study are the art of pre-democratic political communication; social media is the pre-eminent platform used by political parties. Currently, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and Instagram are the dominant platforms seen being used by political parties in conducting campaigns ahead of the general election. Utilizing social media is the advantage of each political party, aiming to get wider coverage and fast response at every level of society.

A software feature for mixed methods analysis: The MAXQDA Interactive Quote Matrix

Mixed methods research relies on the integration of quantitative and qualitative data to develop meta-inferences. Despite an increase in techniques to facilitate integration at the methods and reporting levels, there is less practical guidance on how to conduct mixed methods integrative data analysis. Qualitative data analysis software is rapidly advancing to facilitate integrative analysis in mixed methods research studies. However, examples on how these features support analysis are relatively limited. The purpose of this article is to promote the use of qualitative data analysis software for integrative analysis in mixed methods research by describing the value of the major features available in software (i.e., code queries, crosstabulations, and quote matrices). In addition to a brief overview of these features, this article demonstrates the use of MAXQDA's Interactive Quote Matrix with a real-life example of a completed mixed methods study and delineates the step-by-step process on how to use this feature to develop meta-inferences.

Investigating Stakeholder Perspectives on the Knowledge Management of Construction Projects: A Case Study of the Vietnamese Construction Industry

Knowledge management (KM) is imperative for the successful completion of complex projects. This research, which constitutes a recent doctoral dissertation, centers on exploring the KM practices of internal project stakeholders in managing emergent events within construction projects during the construction stage. Herein, a qualitative approach was utilized. Twenty-five semi-structured interviews were conducted with experts from five internal project stakeholders. A thematic analysis was subsequently conducted using NVivo12 qualitative data analysis software. This study identified a total of eleven types of events categorized into four major themes. Furthermore, the analysis highlighted KM mechanisms applied by construction project stakeholders to overcome the events. In the emergent events context, personalization techniques, such as face-to-face meetings and discussions, are more effective for problem-solving. This study aims to enable Vietnamese construction companies to understand the importance of different KM mechanisms in the emergent events context and offers recommendations on effective KM.

‘I lost over 700 tubers of yam but am glad I am still alive’: Implications of victimhood and displacement on conflict management – Insights from displaced farmers in North Central Nigeria

This study investigates the victimisation and challenges faced by the displaced agricultural community in North-Central Nigeria. The study argues that the significant loss and suffering experienced within this victimisation context contribute to the emergence of post-displacement stressors and act as catalysts for further acts of violence. A sample of 42 participant was selected using a combination of convenience sampling, snowball sampling, and purposeful sampling techniques. The participant were chosen from Daudu camps 1 and 2 (Mbawa), the Gbajimba internally displaced person (IDP) camp (Nzorov), and the Naka IDP camp (Ikyaghev). Data collection involved 8 focus group discussions with victims and 42 in-depth interviews with primary, secondary, and reintegrated victims, as well as representatives of herders. In addition, 14 key informant interviews were conducted with personnel from active non-governmental organisations (NGOs), IDP camp officials, State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) officials, police and army personnel, the head of a local vigilante group, and traditional district heads. Qualitative data analysis was performed thematically using NVIVO 12 Plus, a qualitative data analysis software. The findings highlight that food insecurity emerges as the primary challenge faced by the displaced population. Other challenges include poor living conditions, inadequate healthcare, a lack of employment opportunities, a high number of out-of-school children, emotional difficulties, and water and sanitation problems. Returnees face challenges in reconstructing damaged properties, establishing water sources, and ensuring adequate security. Most participant rely on support from SEMA, humanitarian NGOs, and donations from private individuals and groups. Based on the research results, the study proposes relevant policies for the government and other agencies involved in assisting displaced populations. It emphasises the need for the government to engage with individuals and groups to provide long-term assistance for victims’ rehabilitation, reintegration, and recovery.

Commemoration and commodification: slavery heritage, Black travel and the #YearofReturn2019 in Ghana

In marking 400 years since the first enslaved Africans arrived to Jamestown, United States in 1619, the Ghana government through the Ghana Tourism Authority initiated the Year of Return 2019 (#YOR2019). The goal was to unite Africans in the diaspora with those on the continent, especially in Ghana, through a year-long calendar of commercial and commemorative slavery heritage tourism activities ranging from visits to slavery sites, healing ceremonies, theatre and musical performances, festivals, investment forums and relocation conferences. When a destination tourism product is rooted in a less-than-desirable past, how is ‘balance’ achieved between commercialization and commemoration? In exploring this conceptual question, we developed a methodological innovation utilizing the social media platform Twitter for data collection. Using a social media crawler coded in Python programming language, we scrapped tweets from the accounts of the Ghana Tourism Authority prior, during, and after the YOR2019 based on hashtag searches. After data cleaning, 1010 tweets were inductively analysed using NVIVO qualitative data analysis software. The findings revealed three emergent themes along a commodification-commemoration continuum: (1) the eventification and festivalisation of slavery heritage tourism, (2) celebrity co-production of YOR2019 experiences through social media and (3) pivoting from a predominantly slavery heritage destination to a destination that focuses on other touristic and business travel. Ultimately, YOR2019 marked a significant push by Ghana to move into a ‘Beyond the Return’ phase that pivots away from slavery heritage towards a more well-rounded tourism product for roots, leisure, and business travellers. The research established that commodification in slavery heritage tourism does not inherently destroy cultural meanings but provide new commemorative meanings for a new generation of Black travellers searching for more than just their roots.

A Comparative Study of Corporate Real Estate Strategies for Selected Local and Foreign Commercial Banks in Malaysia (Document Review)

Identify organizational objectives in relation to corporate property and organizational objectives in relation to the business strategy of the local and foreign commercial banks in Malaysia. The paper applies a qualitative research approach with document reviews as the main source of data collection techniques. Annual reports of around 12 documents of both local and foreign commercial banks have been reviewed Rigorous data analysis using qualitative data analysis software was employed. Findings from the related documents review revealed that most of the foreign commercial banks have a diversification strategy which is to increase the number of branches. This seeks to increase profitability through greater sales volume obtained from new products and new markets globally. While on the other hand local commercial banks have restructuring and acquisition strategies and this acquisition overcome costly barriers to entry which may make “start-ups” economically unattractive. This paper generates new knowledge about corporate strategies in relation to corporate property strategy and business strategies.
