Soft drinks glass bottles needs to be sorted as per brand after their use. Sorting of bottles can be achieved based on characteristic features of like shape, size, color, etc. This work focuses on design and development of bottle sorting machine using arduino. Here, height and color of glass bottles are the characteristics selected to segregate bottles of different brands. Currently, this is done manually in most of the scenario. The height and color of the bottles are detected using proximity sensors and color sensors. The bottles transported by the conveyer belt are sorted by activating the appropriate product gateway. The bottles are unloaded from the conveyor belt using a rotary actuator with an arm for sorting and subsequent processing. The LCD maintains track of total number of bottles that are sorted. This sorting machine prototype saves the time and money that would have been spent on a worker manually sorting the things.
