PERSEPSI MASYARAKAT TERHADAP KEBERADAAN RUMAH WALET DI DESA WATUTAU KECAMATAN LORE PEORE KABUPATEN POSOSULAWESI TENGAH

This research aims to determine the public's perception of the existence of swallow houses in Watutau Village, Lore Peore District, Poso Regency, and the factors that influence people's perceptions of swallow houses. In this research, the population was taken from a community located at a radius of 250 meters, namely 31 heads of families, the number of samples taken was 31 respondents. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The research method used by the survey method is one of the information collection techniques carried out by compiling a list of questions asked to respondents at the research location. The data analysis used is descriptive statistics using grouping, simplification and presentation of data such as frequency distribution tables and measurements using the likert and chi- square scales. Based on the results of the study, the perception of the community in Watutau Village, Lore Peore District, Poso Regency, is in the category of Disturbed / Disagreed with the exis tence of swallow houses and the most influential factors in the perception of the community in Watutau Village, Lore Peore District, Poso Regency are the distance of houses on sound and socio-cultural indicators on community perceptions.

Ethnic bias and the hidden curriculum: The impact of routine inclusion of ethnicity in medical education assessment

Introduction: In 2012, the University of Otago Medical School in New Zealand amended high stakes examination questions to routinely include ethnicity. This policy change was prompted by the assessment committee, including the Māori subcommittee. This study aimed to examine the portrayal of Māori patients and to explore the impact of routine inclusion of ethnicity. Methods: A quantitative description of demographic variables of examination questions and responses (role-model answers, multiple-response preferred answer, guidelines for markers) from a pre policy (2009–2011), post policy (2012–2013) and follow-up period (2018–2019) was undertaken. A qualitative content analysis of Māori examination questions was conducted with consideration of trends over time. Results: The majority (98%) of examination questions did not report ethnicity prior to the 2012 policy, whereas around 80% of cases did post policy implementation. Three themes were identified: the non-adherent Māori patient, determinants of health and the patient assigned Māori ethnicity. Examination questions and responses that portrayed Māori as being non-adherent were more common prior to the implementation of the policy. Post policy, many questions did not require students to consider the relevance of ethnicity but presented an increase in social and cultural contextual information of the patient over time. Conclusion: Policy implementation by the assessment committee led to less racist stereotyping and “othering” of Māori patients and prompted further refinement of social and cultural determinants of health over time. Future recommendations include increasing representation of Māori as a reflection of the increased burden of disease alongside representing intersectionality using other socio-cultural indicators.

TRENDOVI I ODREDNICE UPORABE GOTOVINE U DRŽAVAMA ČLANICAMA EU IZVAN EUROZONE

Technological progress and digital innovations changes consumer payment habits worldwide. Although cash payments are still predominant payment method in European countries, a decreasing trend is observed. Simplicity and accessibility of non-cash ways of payments, along with decreasing availability and restrictions on the use of cash, threaten to push cash from circulation. On the other hand, European Central Bank expressed the importance of cash as a store of value and reliable payment instrument that should be available to all eurozone citizens. The aim of this paper is to analyse the trends and determinants of cash usage in 8 non-euro zone European union countries over the 2013 – 2021 period, based on set of selected indicators. The result show heterogeneity within the group, but with a common downward trend, and the significant influence of technological and sociocultural indicators on cash usage.

THE SPECIFICS OF USING THE PROFESSIONAL LANGUAGE OF MANAGEMENT

The article examines the problems of the formation and development of the professional language of management. The position on the need for research and practical implementation of system categories, concepts, and mechanisms of the professional management language is presented. It is proposed that the features of the professional language of management be determined. Features and strategic directions for the development of this process are determined. The critical parameters of the formation and development of the terminological series of the professional language of management are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to considering the semantic dynamics of the formation process and the practical use of specific terms and phrases that characterize the professional management system. The importance of innovative dynamics in the system of personnel policy and knowledge of the terminology of management processes is shown. The objective necessity of fundamental and innovative training of managers is determined as a basis for their orientation towards the systematic development of the managerial profession. Approaches to the implementation of meaningful definitions of the management process are considered. The need to transform the professional qualities of management personnel with an emphasis on the peculiarities of the terminological series of the professional language of management is proven. Attention is focused on the need to develop socio-cultural indicators of management professionalization. The basic principles of using the professional management language are determined, and the need for their practical implementation is proved. The position on the role of the managerial elite in developing an innovative society is presented. Attention is focused on developing the process of professionalization of organizational activity in Ukraine and defining the basic principles of using the professional language of management.

Variation and correlates of psychosocial wellbeing among nulliparous women with preeclampsia

ObjectivesTo identify classes of psychosocial stressors among women who developed preeclampsia and to evaluate the associations between these classes and correlates of psychosocial wellbeing. Study designWe performed a secondary analysis of women who developed preeclampsia (n = 727) from the Nulliparous Pregnancy Outcomes Study: Monitoring Mothers-to-be (nuMoM2b) cohort (2010–2013). Latent class analysis was used to identify classes of social stressors based on seven psychological and sociocultural indicators. Associations between latent classes and correlates (demographics, health behavior, and health-systems level) were estimated using multinomial logistic regression. Main outcome measuresClasses of psychosocial wellbeing. ResultsAmong women who developed preeclampsia, three classes reflective of psychosocial wellbeing were identified: Class 1: Intermediate Psychosocial Wellbeing (53 %), Class 2: Positive Psychosocial Wellbeing (31 %), Class 3: Negative Psychosocial Wellbeing (16 %). Women in the Negative Psychosocial Wellbeing Class were more likely to have poor sleep and a sedentary lifestyle compared with the Positive and Intermediate Psychosocial Wellbeing Classes. Both the Negative and Intermediate Psychosocial Wellbeing Classes reported concern about their quality of medical care compared with the Positive Psychosocial Wellbeing Class (adjusted odds ratio [aOR]: 6.19, 95 % confidence interval [CI]: 3.37, 11.36 and aOR: 2.19, 95 % CI: 1.31, 3.65, respectively). ConclusionsWomen who develop preeclampsia are heterogenous and experience different intensities of internal and external stressors. Understanding the linkages between psychosocial wellbeing during pregnancy and modifiable behavioral and structural factors may inform future tailored management strategies for preeclampsia and the optimization of maternal postpartum health.

Алгоритм одоления монопрофильности арктического города: случай Норильска

The research question of the article — identifying ways to overcome the single-industry nature of the city of Norilsk — have been concretized by solving the following tasks: to substantiate the “specificness” of Norilsk among the largest Arctic cities of Russia; to determine the role of the agglomeration effect in strengthening the support of Norilsk for the projects of Taimyr and the entire Eastern Arctic; to deter-mine the potential of Norilsk Nickel’s service structures and urban entrepreneurship for new mining and infrastructure projects in the Eastern Arctic; propose mechanisms for implementing the Norilsk Support Strategy. The methodological base of the study was formed by the concepts of technological modes, development blocking of old-industrial / mono-industrial territories and supportive settlements. Main results: Norilsk is the most specific among the largest Arctic cities of Russia according to the composite index, made up of nine key demographic, economic, socio-cultural indicators. Non-standard approaches are needed to diversify its economy. The agglomeration effect can constructively contribute to Norilsk’s transformation from a single-industry city into a base city for the development of the Eastern Arctic. The most important areas of structural transformation of Norilsk’s economy include strengthening the practice-orientation and geographical expansion of consumers of services of the local scientific and educational complex; establishment of an entrepreneurial layer in new industries and types of production activities; and entry of the city's entrepreneurship together with the plant's service structures into the market of projects and settlements in the Eastern Arctic. The main mechanisms for the implementation of the Norilsk Strategy: “mirror” actions in the eastern Arctic of the city and the Norilsk Nickel combine; transformation of Norilsk into a center for the provision of security services for the territories of the eastern Arctic; a center of formation of the Arctic cruise tourism from Dudinka to Anadyr; a center for accumulating best practices of renovation of the Arctic housing and communal services for their replication in the cities and towns of the Eastern Arctic. Recognition of Norilsk’s success in becoming a base city in the Eastern Arctic will be an increase in its administrative status: transformation into a city of federal significance.

A framework to assess the contextual composite heat vulnerability index for a heritage city in India- A case study of Madurai

In developing cities, rapid urbanization and climate change leads to drought and urban heat island effects which affects the energy consumption, economy and the environment. Extreme temperature rise has amplified the stress on vulnerable groups and has reduced livability. The sustainability of a city lies in the adaptability of the city to the climatic stresses. The role of adaptability is guided by the contextual vulnerability assessment of the city. This paper intends to assess the contextual vulnerability of Madurai, an ancient city with high social and cultural value. Composite heat vulnerability index (CHVI), a function of exposure, sensitivity and adaptive capacity of the context has been construed by many as the quantitative representation of the vulnerability of a place to high temperature. This paper focuses on the development of a framework to assess the CHVI considering the contextual socio-cultural indicators like social capital and cultural value along with components of meteorological, geophysical, biophysical, fragility, socially-marginalised, and development quotient .The research methodology identifies suitable context specific indicators, computes and maps exposure, sensitivity and adaptive capacity indices, spatially maps the categorised vulnerable zones and identifies the critical indicators that contribute to vulnerability. The framework can support decision-making to enable socially resilient cities.

Governing sociocultural sustainability through standards: Evidence from aquaculture eco-certification schemes

Nonstate certifying authorities have long used standards as a governance instrument to improve sociocultural sustainability in the aquaculture sector. However, studies document that sociocultural sustainability has been marginalized in aquaculture certification standards. Against this background, I explore the purview of the sociocultural “principles” embodied in standards to improve sociocultural sustainability in aquaculture development. Although the burgeoning scholarship underscores the coverage of sociocultural indicators in aquaculture certification standards, there is limited research on what principles are included in standards to advance sociocultural sustainability in aquaculture. To address this question, I draw on one of the four dimensions of the “full-spectrum” sustainability framework (FSF), namely, the sociocultural dimension, to compare the extent to which such principles correspond to the FSF. Using the interpretive method, I examine six standards of five transnational aquaculture eco-certification schemes. I argue that standards overwhelmingly underscore issues concerning health and well-being, whereas the emphasis on improving producers' ethical practices and resolving burning issues that profoundly affect indigenous peoples and local communities is comparatively fragile. I further contend that the Naturland, Global Good Agricultural Practice, and Friend of the Sea's (FOS) aquaculture certification standards are weaker than the Aquaculture Stewardship Council and Global Aquaculture Alliance standards, and the FOS standard is the weakest in terms of addressing sociocultural sustainability. I conclude that the exclusion of, and negligible attention to, crucial sociocultural issues can potentially undermine the vision of standards to ensure and govern sociocultural sustainability in aquaculture, thereby providing a rationale for improving certification standards.

Psychosocial Stressors as a Determinant of Maternal Cardiovascular Health During Pregnancy

Maternal psychosocial stress may be a risk factor for poor cardiovascular health (CVH) during pregnancy. We aimed to identify classes of psychosocial stressors in pregnant women and to evaluate their cross-sectional association with CVH. We performed a secondary analysis of women from the Nulliparous Pregnancy Outcomes Study: Monitoring Mothers-to-be (nuMoM2b) cohort (2010 to 2013). Latent class analysis was used to identify distinct classes of exposure to psychosocial stressors based on psychological (stress, anxiety, resilience, depression) and sociocultural indicators (social support, economic stress, discrimination). Optimal and suboptimal CVH was defined based on the presence of 0 to 1 and ≥2 risk factors (hypertension, diabetes mellitus, smoking, obesity, inadequate physical activity), respectively based on the American Heart Association Life's Essential 8. We used logistic regression to evaluate the association between psychosocial classes and CVH. We included 8,491 women and identified 5 classes reflective of gradations of psychosocial stress. In unadjusted models, women in the most disadvantaged psychosocial stressor class were approximately 3 times more likely to have suboptimal CVH than those in the most advantaged class (odds ratio 2.98, 95% confidence interval: 2.54 to 3.51). Adjusting for demographics minimally attenuated the risk (adjusted odds ratio 2.09, 95% confidence interval: 1.76 to 2.48). We observed variation across psychosocial stressor landscapes in women in the nuMoM2b cohort. Women in the most disadvantaged psychosocial class had a greater risk of suboptimal CVH which was only partially explained by differences in demographic characteristics. In conclusion, our findings highlight the association of maternal psychosocial stressors with CVH during pregnancy.

Adaptive Reuse of Historical Buildings Using ARP Model: The Case of Qishla Castle in Koya City

Preserving historical buildings is a very essential aspect as these buildings represent sociocultural indicators of the past. Historic buildings may lose their function during their life stages and become deserted. Adaptive reuse is a way to sustain a building by changing its function according to its area needs and current context. Qishla Castle is one of Koya, Iraq’s most important historical buildings. In addition to its historical and cultural status, it has an important geographic location in the city center. This paper aims to test the potentiality of reusing this historical building. The Adaptive Reuse Potentiality ARP model was applied to the Qishla Castle in Koya. To apply this model to the Qishla area, a working paper was prepared, including a set of questions to estimate building obsolescence attributes, these questions were answered based on a survey and interviews with experts. Results obtained from experts showed that the building was constructed solidly and to a high level of quality despite its obsolescence. Building physical life is estimated at 250 years, the building age is 152 years, the useful life is estimated at 161 years, ARP value is 62.24%, that is, the Qishla building has a high potential for adaptive reuse.

THE POST-INDUSTRIAL CONTEXT OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PRINCIPLES OF MANAGERIAL CONSTITUTIONALISM

The article examines the problems of formation and development of the principles of managerial constitutionalism. The position on the need for research and practical implementation of the principles of managerial constitutionalism is presented. A list of principles of managerial (management) constitutionalism is offered. Features and strategic directions of development of this process are determined. The key parameters of each principle are analyzed with the definition of the main feature and features of their further practical implementation. The rationale for the necessity of the term "managerial constitutionalism" is presented. Special attention is paid to the consideration of the semantic dynamics of the process of formation and practical use of the ten basic principles of managerial constitutionalism. Attention is drawn to the need for systemic changes in the training of management personnel in the conditions of postmodern development of an innovative society. The importance of innovative dynamics in the personnel policy system in relation to each principle of managerial constitutionalism is shown. The objective necessity of fundamental and innovative training of managers is determined as a basis for their orientation towards the systematic development of the managerial profession. Approaches to the implementation of the principles of managerial constitutionalism in Ukraine are considered. The need to transform the professional qualities of management personnel with an emphasis on each principle of managerial constitutionalism is proven. Attention is focused on the need to develop socio-cultural indicators of management professionalization. The need to create conditions for the formation of the integral quality of the professional management system is proved. The position on the role of the managerial elite in the development of an innovative society is presented.

Regionalization Based on Socio-Economic Development Indicators in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Example of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Abstract This study classifies local self-government units (local communities) in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBIH) according to socio-economic characteristics by applying the following multivariate methods: principal component analysis (PCA), regression and cluster analysis. The selection of variables was based on literature and adjusted by FBIH specifics, covering the four hypothetical dimensions of regional differentiation: macroeconomic, demographic, infrastructural and socio-cultural indicators. PCA has identified five components: the productivity component, demographic component, component of economic activity potential, spatial component and employment component. Further analysis showed that all identified factors are significant predictors of local communities’ development, measured by the development index. The cluster analysis resulted with four clusters in the FBIH with significant differences in development level. Considering that FBIH municipalities are administrative units of local government and that the classification is based on socio-economic dimensions, identified clusters correspond to the NUTS principles.

Examining village characteristics for forest management using self- and geographic self-organizing maps: A case from the Baekdudaegan mountain range network in Korea

Understanding the village characteristics linked to forest networks is essential for the scientific management of forest resources. Forests are complex socio-ecological systems. This study classifies the resources and characteristics of forest networks and neighboring villages using unsupervised learning algorithms: self-organizing maps (SOM) and geographic-self-organizing maps (Geo-SOMs). Considering ecological, economic, and sociocultural indicators, 18 covariates of 379 villages in two forest networks of the Baekdudaegan Mountain Range in South Korea were analyzed. The data visualizing map size was fixed based on changes in quantization and topographic errors of the same grid maps, and the number of clusters was determined by comparing K-means and hierarchical clustering techniques. An optimal map size of 17 × 12 grids and six clusters was used for further classification of the input data for both SOM and Geo-SOM analyses. The common characteristics of villages were identified using SOM classification, whereas geographically bounded characteristics were identified using Geo-SOM. The approach introduced in this study can be applied to socio-ecological classification and the design of sustainable forest management policies that link the remote sensing and geographic information systems.

ПРЕДПРИНИМАТЕЛЬСКАЯ ДЕЯТЕЛЬНОСТЬ В ЭПОХУ РЕФОРМ ПЕТРА I КАК ИНДИКАТОР ВЕРТИКАЛЬНОЙ МОДЕРНИЗАЦИИ: СОЦИОКУЛЬТУРНОЕ ИЗМЕРЕНИЕ

The authors of the article consider the socio-cultural indicators of entrepreneurial activity as a key vector of vertical modernization undertaken by the Russian Emperor Peter I. The study of socio-historical and cultural-philosophical reflection caused by the reforms of the first quarter of the 18th century is the longest interdisciplinary discourse leading directly to the realities of the development of modern Russia. Consistent consideration of the levels of institutionalization, typification, legitimization, habitualization and the socio-cultural potential of modernization showed that the reforms of Peter I were initially devoid of key socio-cultural determinants. At that time, an attempt at a short-term and radical westernization of society without taking into account the need for a democratic filling of modernization led to a centuries-old split in society and, as a result, to a development vector that was fundamentally different from the European one.

COMPREHENSIVE CHARACTERISTICS OF AN ENTERPRISE'S FINANCIAL STABILITY

One of the most important characteristics of a company's development is its financial stability, formed by complex impact of a large number of external and internal factors. At the same time, the assessment of financial stability in some cases is ambiguous and requires the use of a combined approach. The article evaluates the main financial indicators characterizing liquidity and financial stability of organizations, which are calculated according to the accounting (financial statements) for 2000-2021, published by the Federal State Statistics Service. Some of the indicators calculated on average for organizations of the Russian Federation, on the whole, positively characterize the level of financial stability (equity ratio) and liquidity (current liquidity ratio) and their good dynamics, but, as the data reviewed show, it is usually impossible to comprehensively assess the financial stability of an enterprise using one or even several particular indicators. It is necessary to use several indicators, both financial and those characterizing the efficiency of using resources by the enterprise (material, labor, fixed assets). It is likely that such indicators will include several external factors of financial stability formation that do not imply a quantitative assessment, for example, such as political, legal and socio-cultural indicators. The relevance of assessing the financial stability of an organization is due to the fact that the main methods of such assessment are mainly focused on using only quantitative data, which are considered, as a rule, in isolation from each other, which makes it impossible to unambiguously assess the dynamics of an organization's financial stability. Using the method of pair-wise comparisons, the author obtained the results that led to the following conclusions: the list of evaluation indicators should include not only quantitatively, but also qualitatively varying indicators, which requires the use of more universal methods of criteria convolution, for example, the method of pair-wise comparisons used in the method of hierarchy analysis.

A Location Selection Method for Wastewater Treatment Plants Integrating Dynamic Change of Water Ecosystem and Socio-Cultural Indicators: A Case Study of Phnom Penh

The selection of reasonable locations for urban wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) is significant in controlling water pollution. However, most current WWTP location selection models focus only on population density, industrial zone scale and geographic elements, while ignoring water pollution and local socio-cultural indicators. We propose a novel indicator system from RS/GIS data to select reasonable locations for WWTPs in Phnom Penh to avoid water environmental deterioration and harm to human health. The frequency of occurrence of water eutrophication is derived from time series RS data and reveals the degree of pollution of local water ecosystems, and is included as a demand indicator for the first time. In order to respect local socio-cultural customs, buffer zones for religious sites are included in the indicator system for the first time to fully determine the zones where construction of WWTPs is forbidden. Subsequently, WWTP locations are selected with the fusion of the minimized facilities number and maximum coverage models. The results demonstrate that the selected locations are all highly suitable and outside zones where construction is forbidden. The method proposed in the article provides a more comprehensive and scientific perspective for WWTP location selection.

Socio-Cultural Indicators of Development and Nigeria’s Developmental Challenges

The general objective of this study was to use the socio-cultural indicators of development in interrogating Nigeria’s developmental challenges. The Nigerian nation is the seventh most populated country on earth. The development of such a location consequently continues to attract research attention. The paper’s theoretical framework is combinatory, embedding the modernization and elite theories. The documentary method of research was adopted for the work involving the reexamination and amplification of secondary sources of information, on the bases of which the paper’s findings were made. The paper found that on the grounds of the considered socio-cultural indicators, Nigeria remains underdeveloped. It is concluded and recommended in the paper that to defeat the existing developmental challenges in the country, the national political elite must follow the lines of leadership dependability in governance

One Voice Many Languages, Colonial Radio in India

Languages knit people together, but at All India Radio we witness the reverse trajectory. Radio's first 20 years, 1927–47, coinciding with the last 20 of British rule, saw the subcontinent's kaleidoscopic linguistic profile creating havoc. Three emotive stumbling blocks emerged, affecting radio: did a nation need a single language or was a multilingual state sustainable; could an alien language gain acceptance; and could there be consensus on a language imposed for institutional convenience. With heavy dependence on English, the dominant language of broadcast, station directors, had the authority to allocate rest of the time to prevailing languages, juggling diverse vernaculars. Complications surfaced at most stations, but most prominent at northern stations where language from being socio-cultural indicators became religious pointers, Hindi associated with Hindus and Urdu with Muslims. All India Radio adopted Hindustani, the confluence of both for practical reasons; instead of two languages, it was easier to cater in just one. This espousal led to heated disputes, with Hindi supporters alleging that radio's Hindustani leaned heavily towards Arabic, and the Urdu clique seeing a definite predisposition towards Sanskrit. The epicentre of controversy were the news programmes. The radio policy of British India was generally to be cautious and to avoid needless controversy.

Differences between European and Latin American consciousness in the learning process

To achieve effective results in the learning process as a conscious type of activity, it is important to understand preconditions that determine basic components contributing to manifestation of subject’s mechanisms of perception of the surrounding reality, as well as features of thinking while implementing certain objectives. In this regard, it is of particular interest to research human consciousness in the process of its formation and functioning within the conditions of different cultural paradigms. The purpose is to identify mentally determined patterns of forming differences between national consciousness of the Europeans and the Latin Americans along with the factors predetermining individual’s mental and behavioral reactions. The authors also aim to determine the correlation between ethnical and sociocultural traditions and mechanisms of a subject’s manifestation of consciousness in the learning process. The analysis is based on the conceptual achievements in psychology, sociology, and education. The category of consciousness is considered from the point of view of the historically established mental differences between the European and the Latin American national consciousness on the basis of conceptual studies and taking into account sociocultural indicators. The research methods used include analysis and synthesis, classification and the comparative typological method. As a result, the obvious impact of the mental component upon formation and realization of Spanish native speakers’ consciousness within the conditions of European and Latin American paradigms was revealed. Particularly, the research has identified differences in parenting and education processes in the given cultures that have an impact on individual’s development and personality as a whole, as well as the factors determining subjects’ motivation when solving problems and achieving goals in the educational process.

Architectural design quality and social sustainability in building certification systems

Abstract The main objective of the study is to examine to what extent the architectural design quality and social sustainability are taken into account in building certification systems. The following most commonly used building assessments in Europe (focus on Germany, Slovakia and Czech Republic) have been investigated: BREEAM, LEED, CESBA, LEVEL(s), DGNB, BNB, BNK, NaWoh, SBToolCZ and WELL. After extensive research of chosen certification systems and various sources on topics such as conditions of well-being, sociocultural indicators, assessment of social performance of sustainable buildings and design quality assessment, the main social and architectural design quality aspects were determined and used for further analysis and final evaluation. Studied aspects are divided into the following categories: user satisfaction and quality of life (building-related), sustainable and healthy lifestyle (building-related), architecture – design quality (building-related), innovation and social responsibility (external). The article contains a summary of results with overall evaluation and comparison of certification systems including weighting of studied categories in selected building assessments. Furthermore, indicators used in building certifications associated with the quality of life and the quality of architectural expression and their weighting are described and presented.
