Abstract Developed, mature socialism signifies further acceleration of progress in all spheres of social life. A changeover is occurring to intensive management techniques, the level of culture and education of the masses of the people is rapidly rising, the system of administration is being improved, and the participation of all social groups of the workers in running the country is becoming constantly more active. New, truly immense tasks in the realm of the economy require for their solution increasingly complete utilization of the achievements of science and technology, a qualitatively new approach to questions of development of the economy, expansion of socialist competition, intensification of the creative activity of every worker in town and village, incentives for labor, businesslike initiative, thrift, economy, and that the spirit of communist idealism and consciousness be cultivated in each individual.
