Utilizing WhatsApp As An Educational Technology Tool In Improving Students’ Speaking For ESP Instruction

This study is designed to develop a WhatsApp social media approach to improve students' speaking skills in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) instruction. This approach seems to stimulate students to be more involved in free speaking activities so that their speaking skills can improve and they become more being motivated. This study used Classroom Action Research (CAR) namely (1) planning, (2) actions, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. This research is focused on second semester students of in civil Engineering students so that the number of students is not much. This inspires them to focus more on researching and motivating the students themselves. With the success of Cycle II, voice note social media can be a millennial innovation for English teachers, both teachers and lecturers. It was conducted for about two cycles namely cycle I and cycle II. According to the results of speaking test, findings showed that the implementation English for Specific Purposes (ESP) in teaching had positive meaningful effect on improving students’ speaking skill after being obtained test results both cycle 1 and cycle II in civil Engineering students of UKI Paulus Makassar. It can be concluded that utilizing WhatsApp as an educational technology tool improves students’ speaking for ESP instruction in civil Engineering students of UKI Paulus Makassar.

RESPON KAUM WANITA MUSLIMAH DI DESA KLAKAH KABUPATEN LUMAJANG TERHADAP HASIL PEMBUATAN JILBAB COVID INSTANT

The corona virus pandemic is spreading very quickly, including Lumajang Regency. There are seven villages in Lumajang Regency that are included in the red zone affected by the virus. Various efforts have been socialized to the public to prevent contracting the virus, one of which is by recommending the use of personal protective equipment. The purpose of this study is to describe the response of women in Klakah Village, Lumajang to the instant Covid hijab produced by the Unesa PKM Team in the Community Service program. This research is a descriptive study carried out in October - December 2020. The number of research subjects was 50 women from Klakah village, Klakah sub-district, Lumajang Regency. Method of data collection with a questionnaire. The research instrument was in the form of a response questionnaire in the form of a Google form which was distributed through the Whatsapp social media application. The data analysis method used descriptive analysis to calculate the mean value. The results of the study stated that the response of women in Klakah village, Klakah sub-district, Lumajang to the instant covid hijab product reached an average of 91%, included in the very good criteria

The role of social media as a communication facility for hydrometeorological disasters in shallot farming activities

Social media as a means of communication plays a role in building a new paradigm of disaster. One of the social media users for hydrometeorological disaster communication is a shallot farmer in Parangtritis Village, Kretek Subdistrict, Bantul District, Yogyakarta Special Region. This study aims to determine the role of social media as a means of communication for hydrometeorological disasters in shallot farming activities. The design of this research is descriptive quantitative research. The research was carried out from April to October 2021 by taking the location of shallot farmers in Parangtritis Village, Kretek Subdistrict, Bantul District, Yogyakarta Special Region. The research sample was determined by a quota of 50 respondents. Research data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data that has been collected is then processed and analyzed descriptively. The results of this study show that: (1) The respondents' ownership of gadgets is 84%. Of all respondents who have gadgets, 71.4% of respondents have an internet connection. (2) All respondents stated that ownership of gadgets and internet connection is useful in hydrometeorological disaster information. (3) All respondents who have gadgets and internet connections have facebook and whatsapp social media accounts. (4) The role of ownership of social media accounts is as a means of exchanging information on hydrometeorological disasters, namely information related to shallot farming activities (seedlings, soil processing, fertilizers, pest eradication, harvesting, etc.) and information on the threat of hydrometeorological disasters on shallot farming, such as floods and extreme weather. The existence of social media is able to have a positive impact on shallot farmers, especially in adapting to existing weather conditions with strategies to change crop variations, change cropping patterns, change planting periods, and change irrigation systems, thereby helping harvest success.

Efektivitas Penerapan Pembelajaran Pendidikan Jasmani, Olahraga, Dan Kesehatan Berbasis Media Sosial

This research intend to knowing the effectiveness of the implementation of social media-based physical sports and health education using whatsapp at SDN Angkatanlor 02. The thing that underlies this research is distance learning activities implemented by the government. Therefore, SDN Angkatanlor 02 apply learning PJOK online using social media whatsapp. But it is not yet known how the effectiveness of learning PJOK use whatsapp in SDN Angkatanlor 02 . This research is a qualitative descriptive. The research samples used PJOK teacher and 30 students from class 3, 4, and 5. The data collection teqnichues used method observation, interview, and documentation. The results of this research are learning physical education, sports and health using social media whatsapp has proven to be effective at SDN Angkatanlor 02. This is proven based on: 1. Good technology access from teachers and students, 2. The ability to use technology that is qualified by teachers and students, 3. Teacher activities in good teaching styles and strategies, and 4. Student activities in learning habits using good social media .

The Influence of WhatsApp Social Media on the Dissemination of Learning Information

Learning information needs to be considered to make learning activities more effective to achieve the goals of learning. One of the frequent obstacles to the reporting of learning activities is limited communication space, which causes communication errors in disseminating learning information. WhatsApp is one of the social media platforms which can be used to learn information. The purpose of this study is to see the effect of WhatsApp on the dissemination of learning information in the Communication Studies Program of the State University of Jakarta. This research uses new media theory and information theory. The method of data collection in this research is a survey with a questionnaire. The population for this study comprised 82 students of the Jakarta State University Communication Study Program class of 2019. The number of samples was calculated using the Slovin formula with a margin of error of 10% to 45 people. The sampling technique used simple random sampling, while the data analysis used statistical analysis. The results of this study indicate that the calculated f value is 36.552 with a significance value of 0.000. Thus. it can be seen that the variable x (the social media WhatsApp) affects the variable y (the dissemination of learning information). Hence, it can be denied that WhatsApp social media affects the dissemination of learning information.

The Influence of The TASC (Thingking Actively In A Social Context) Model Using Whatsapp Social Media on Online Learning Materials for Classification of Land Capability in the Emergency Period of the Covid 19 Pandemic

This study aims to determine the effect of the Tasc model using WhatsApp social media on online learning for Land Capability Classification Analysis during the COVID-19 pandemic emergency. The method used in this study is an experimental method with a quasi-experimental type using a factorial design. The samples in this study were students of class X IPS 1 and class X IPS 2. The results of this study were analyzed in stages, namely: data description, prerequisite test, and hypothesis testing. The prerequisite tests carried out are the normality test of the data distribution, the homogeneity of variance test, and the t test. The results showed that after the learning was carried out and the post-test was given to the experimental class and the control class, the results obtained ttest > t 𝑡𝑎𝑏𝑒𝑙 indicating was accepted . Where that the learning outcomes of students on the material elements of hadith using the TASC learning model are better than conventional learning. Where the class that uses the TASC model seems enthusiastic about sending information on the Whatsapp group because the TASC learning model helps students to construct their own knowledge and makes it easier for students to understand the classification of land capability.

Emoji as Nonverbal Communication among Lecturer-Student Communication in Whatsapp Social Media Academic Group

The increasing use of emoji in digital communication should benefit people who actually utilize them, especially when it comes to maintaining efficient communication between lecturers and students. Several studies on the use of WhatsApp emoji have been conducted, but little is known about the use of emoji by lecturers and students in their communication through WhatsApp conversation group. Using the Media Richness Theory proposed by Daft et al. (1987), this study aimed to explore the use of emoji between three lecturers and five students of the Master of Language in Digital Communication and Culture (MLCDC) program at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). By performing Thematic Analysis, the findings of the study revealed that the majority of participants favored using emoji over words since it helped to communicate and deepen feelings in the WhatsApp social media academic group. Furthermore, participants perceived emoji as nonverbal communication to replace words or sentences because it was easier, faster (saving time), and minimized ambiguity while talking with lecturers/students in WhatsApp social media academic groups. However, there are some drawbacks to emoji, such as the fact that it may have varied meanings depending on who sends the message and may not be appropriate for the WhatsApp social media academic group.

Pemantauan Proyek Dengan Aplikasi Project Management Menggunakan Laravel

The Internal Division (IT) is a unit that has responsibility for project work and also its completion, the projects handled by the Internal Division (IT) are numerous and also have various specifications. For now, the coordination process is still being carried out using Group Chat on Skype, Whatsapp, and Google Meet so that many obstacles or problems are encountered. Based on the results of interviews with the Head Department in the internal division (IT) there are problems in monitoring the project, project work, project file storage locations, communication media between project teams, project management. The purpose and benefits of the research are to provide convenience for the IT division in conducting the process of managing and monitoring the ongoing project, providing project management services within the organization that can be connected between individuals for project management. Needs analysis was carried out using data collection methods in the form of observations and interviews. The methodology used is Waterfall. The Waterfall development methodology is a development model that flows from the first phase to the last. The problem is that project and progress monitoring is carried out through Skype and Whatsapp social media so that there are many group chats that are less effective in working on a project due to lack of information about the project that is being worked on or the project to be worked on (the status of the project). The final result produces a Project Management Application that is used to manage all projects carried out in the IT Division and is able to handle the problems at hand. The scope of the resulting application monitors the progress of the project; has a forum feature as a medium of communication between project teams; provide a place to store files related to the project being worked on; Equipped with a time schedule feature for project work.

Efektivitas Komunikasi Antarpribadi Mahasiswa IAIN Kendari Melalui Media Sosial di Masa Covid 19

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of interpersonal communication between IAIN Kendari students, in this case students of the Ushuluddin Adab and Da'wah Faculty through WhatsApp social media during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study used descriptive qualitative method. In taking the sample, this research used purposive sampling method. Subjects in this study amounted to 21 informants. Data collection techniques used are interview, observation and documentation techniques. The results showed that interpersonal communication made by students through WhatsApp social media was quite effective, even though the communication carried out by informants used WhatsApp social media, but the equality between informants and their communicants made them remain open to each other about their personalities, understand each other and provide mutual positive support between informants and their partners. his communicant. WhatsApp social media has features that are quite supportive for interpersonal communication during the Covid-19 pandemic, such as voice messages, video calls, sharing documents, photos and videos. Barriers that often occur in interpersonal communication through WhatsApp are networks that are sometimes less stable, limited internet quota, differences in language style and communicant responses that cannot be seen directly. Komunitas Fujoshi di Pontianak dan Stigma Identitas Gender yang Melekat dalam Lingkungan Masyarakat

The study examined The Fujoshi Community in Pontianak and the attached stigma of gender identity within the society. This fujoshi community is active on Whatsapp social media. They are a community of homoerotic lovers or boys love formed by people who also like boys love from various circles, both otaku, k-popers, and who just like boys love. There are some stigmas that are received to fujoshi because they enjoyed reading and watching homoerotic themed. The research implemented ethnographic research method with participants observation and online interviews to collect the data. The Social Construction Theory of Reality by Peter L. Berger is used in this research. The aim of the study was to describe fujoshi in Whatsapp groups to provide interpretations of homosexuals in reading and series boys love among heteronormative values and to describe fujoshi's means to maintain that identity and face the stigma as well as heteronormative values in society. The results showed that many factors drived fujoshi love boys love and the fans of boys love to form a community of fujoshi on Whatsapp to share information with fellow fans. The community was formed for fujoshi to express their passion for boys love in the midst of a heteronormative society.

Implementation of Components of The Online Learning Education System In Elementary Schools

Implementing online learning amid the Covid-19 Pandemic has caused problems for teachers and students at the elementary school education unit level. This study aims to obtain a comprehensive picture of the implementation of online learning. The approach used is descriptive and qualitative with the case study method. The results of this study are online learning conducted at SDN Harapan Jaya IX by using learning media in the form of videos and social media WhatsApp. The school made efforts to implement online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic by providing teachers with training in using and using electronic media in learning. The availability of facilities and infrastructure to support online learning in schools has been fulfilled for teachers and students. The school has provided facilities in the form of Wifi, and an internet quota for teachers, so teachers do not spend their money buying packages. Furthermore, the evaluation of learning is carried out by giving assignments and evaluating the process of student activity during the online learning process.

Added Value and Ease of Using Quick Responses Qris Indonesian Standard (QRIS)

Mobile payments are increasingly being adopted by organizations as a new way of doing business in the 21st century. Through The server electronic money application based, electronic wallet, or mobile banking based on Quick Responses QRIS) provides convenience for consumers to do transaction. This study uses the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in testing consumer intentions using the QRIS application. The sampling technique used is the total sample. The sample in this study was obtained online, the questionnaire was distributed online through social media whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram. The sample used as many as 123 respondents who use the QRIS application in paying. The data is processed by using SPSS tool. The result is that the added value in the QRIS application has no effect on comfort. Convenience has a significant effect on comfort. Consumers who use the QRIS application prefer the convenience offered by the QRIS program rather than the added value in the QRIS application. Furthermore, it can be seen the magnitude of the influence on the results and discussion sections. This research contributes convenience for consumers in paying or transacting. QRIS provides convenience for consumers in shopping. Apart from QRIS, there are still many payment systems and methods that can be used by consumers, such as OVO, Dana, Go-Pay, Sakuku, Truemoney, Link Aja, and T-Cash. Further researchers can add other variables that have not been included in this study or can also use a payment system other than QRIS.

PEMBERDAYAAN REMAJA BERBASIS ONLINE SEBAGAI PROMOTOR KESEHATAN JIWA

Adolescents are a group that is vulnerable to mental health problems because they are in the developmental stage. This online-based youth empowerment activity is aims to increase adolescents knowledge and skills in promoting mental health using social media. This empowerment activity is carried out online using social media whatsapp, instagram and zoom meeting. The youth empowerment process is packaged in the form of Gen Z Online Camp during August 9-17, 2021. The targets of this activity are representatives of youth at SMA Negeri 5 Sorong, Papua, SMK Negeri 1 Plosoklaten, Kediri Regency and SMK Negeri 2 Tarakan, North Kalimantan. The results of this activity from 49 participants 61.3% experienced an increase in knowledge (p value <0.05), able to produce mental health promotion media. WHATSAPP SOCIAL MEDIA USE OF LANGUAGE BY STUDENTS

The problem raised in this study is that there is communication on WhatsApp social media which has many different opinions between students and others . In addition, students may use words and sentences that are difficult to reach, but in their minds students can already distinguish in their use of language. The aims of this study are (1) todeseribe diction by Indonesian Language Education students at UN PGRI Kediri in the use of social media WhatsApp, Describe the use of sentences by Indonesian Language Education students in the use of social media WhatsApp. This research is a qualitative descriptive with a syntactic approach. This research data is qualitative data in the form of WhatsApp conversation analysis with the primary data source in the form of WhatsApp conversation results. The subjects in this study were Level III students of Indonesian Languarze Education in the 2018/2019 academic year. The data analysis technique of this research is using coding,. The results of the study can be concluded that (1) the form of using diction in conversations on WhatsApp social media (2) the form of usinu sentences in conversations on WhatsApp social media (3) the formof writing sentences in conversations on WhatsApp social media.

Penerapan Digitalisasi Catatan Keuangan dan Pemasaran Pada Omah Djadjan Ponpes As-Salafiyah

MSME Omah Djadjan is one of the MSMEs in Jeruk Village, Pancur District, Rembang Regency with the production of dry and wet cakes. The problems faced by MSMEs Omah Djadjan are that they do not have good financial records either manually or digitally and online marketing only uses Instagram and WhatsApp social media. The proposed solutions to overcome these problems are: 1) Conduct business management training, especially financial management and marketing management; 2) Facilitating manual and digital financial records and marketing in the marketplace; and 3) Provide business assistance. INFLUENCE OF THE USE OF WHATSAPP SOCIAL MEDIA ON THE RESULTS OF LEARNING GERMAN OF STUDENTS OF SMA NEGERI 20 MALUKU TENGAH

This research aims to explain the influence of whatsApp's use of social media as a learning medium on german learning outcomes. This study has two variables, namely the use of WhatsApp social media as a learning medium (X) as a free variable and german learning outcomes as bound variables (Y). The method used in this study is Ex Post Facto. This research data is obtained through interviews, questionnaires and results of learning German odd semesters (Midterms and End Semester Exams) through documentation studies. WhatsApp social media as a learning medium is used through interviews with teachers and questionnaires given to German learners. The data of the questionnaire results is processed with a likert scale then analyzed using percentage descriptive analysis techniques, then the results of German learning are processed with the T-Test technique. The results of the German language learning process showed that the use of Whatsapp social media as a learning medium had a positive effect on german learning outcomes

Forensik WhatsApp Menggunakan Metode Digital Forensic Research Workshop (DFRWS)

Smartphone technology makes cybercrime crimes increase from year to year, one of the smartphone applications used to commit crimes is WhatsApp. The WhatsApp application is one of the most widely used social media, especially in Indonesia. Criminal acts such as hate speech, fraud, and defamation often occur on WhatsApp social media. This research was conducted to find forensic evidence on the WhatsApp social media application using the Digital Forensics Research Workshop (DFRWS) method. The stages of digital forensics include identification, preservation, collection, examination, analysis and presentation in finding digital evidence of cybercrime using the MOBILedit Forensic Express and HashMyFiles software applications. The digital evidence sought on smartphones can be found using case scenarios with 13 parameters that have been created. The results of this study indicate that the digital forensic software MOBILedit Forensic Express can detect types of digital evidence with an accuracy rate of 84.6%, while Hashmyfiles can detect the authenticity of digital evidence by 100%.

ANALYSIS OF WHATSAPP SOCIAL MEDIA USE IN THE DISTANCE LEARNING PROCESS AT ISLAMIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The distance learning policy requires the provision of materials and assignments through social media, namely WhatsApp. This study aims to determine the role of the use of WhatsApp social media in the distance learning process in Islamic Elementary School (MIN) 4 East Oku. This research is qualitative research. Data collection is conducted by documentation, observation, and interview with 15 students and 3 teachers. The data are analyzed by combining and confirming interview data with observation and documentation data (data triangulation). The results of this study indicate that the use of Whatsapp social media by students in the learning process has been going well because students are familiar with the Whatsapp media application and are easy to access it. The students feel happy and comfortable following the distance learning process which has an impact on learning outcomes that are quite good. However, there are other factors which cause the distance learning process with Whatsapp social media to work well, namely the role of parents who accompany students during the distance learning process.

Assessment of Dental Care Seeking Behaviour and Attitude among Adults in a Metropolitan City in Southern India- An Observational Study

Introduction: Understanding the factors that promote or impede dental visits is a prerequisite for devising healthcare changes because underuse of dental services is linked to an increased burden of oral disorders. Aim: The study aimed to comprehensively explore the factors that could have a positive or negative influence on oral health care seeking behaviour among adults in Chennai. Materials and Methods: The present descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted among patients visiting the outpatient Department, SRM Dental College, Ramapuram, Chennai, India from April 2019 to January 2020. A structured questionnaire was admistered via both printed and online Google forms to adult patients aged above 18 years. Google forms were shared via WhatsApp social media platform. A total of 503 completed responses were statistically analysed. The Chi-square test and logistic regression analysis was applied to assess the association and the strength of association between the various factors and dental visits. Results: A total of 503 subjects were surveyed of which 75.94% had visited a dentist previously, of which males were 216 and females were 287. The most frequently cited reasons for not visiting a dentist were lack of time (60.23%), high cost (56.06%) and not having dental problems (52.88%). Respondents who thought that dental problems were serious or life threatening (65.80%), thought they had poor oral health (2.18%), felt they needed dental treatment (53.87%) and had better awareness on the benefits of regular dental consultations (62.02%) visited the dentist more frequently in the past. A significant association was observed between dental visits and educational qualification, family structure, time constraints, absence of dental problems, religious beliefs and perceived need for treatment (p-value <0.05). Conclusion: Among Indian studies, the current study found the highest frequency of dental visits. Dental visits were hampered by the time constraints, high cost of dental treatment and a lack of dental problems. Awareness that regular dental visits enhance good oral health was comprehended and linked to a higher frequency of dental visits. The study highlights the importance of providing affordable, high quality dental care as well as promoting public awareness in order to overcome barriers to dental service utilisation.

Turizmin Etkileri ve Şehir Yaşam Kalitesi Arasındaki İlişki

The aim of the research is to determine the relationship between the effects of tourism and the quality of life in the city. In the study, in which the quantitative research method was preferred, a questionnaire was used. The data were collected between July 2019 and February 2020 via facebook and whatsapp social media. 207 questionnaires were used. As a result of the analyzes, it has been determined that there are positive linear low and medium level relationships between the dimensions of variables. As a result of the comparison analyzes, according to the working status, the dimension of satisfaction with infrastructure and facilities of the city; according to the age variable and the length of living in Alanya variable, the participants’ perceptions regarding the satisfaction with people's personal situation dimension about the quality of life in cities differed significantly; according to gender, only the participants’ perceptions regarding the economy, image and infrastructure status of destination dimension show a significant difference.
