A Sociological Assessment on Gender Equality From A Male’s Perspective

Nowadays the importance of researches on gender is increasing day by day. Both foreign and domestic researches reveal that there is a multifaceted relationship between gender equality and social development. Gender equality includes such many micro and macro effects as the increase in the education system and the level of social and economic development. It is obvious that there are some precautions taken for gender equality in the social and economic development plans of countries. In this respect, it is necessary to carry out studies on the subject. From this point of view, it is aimed to reveal gender equality from a male perspective in this paper. Within the scope of the research designed with the qualitative research method, indepth interviews were conducted with 21 men and the obtained data were analyzed with the computer program MAXQDA. The study was carried out in Şişli district of Istanbul. When the findings of the research are evaluated, it has been determined that there is an awareness of gender and a positive approach towards gender equality in Şişli, the most developed district of Istanbul. However, despite this, it has been concluded that the education level of the individual and his hometown are quite determinative on the perception of gender equality. It has been determined that men who are elementary and high school graduates and whose hometown is located in Southeastern Anatolia and the Black Sea region adopt traditional role patterns more.

The Impact of Marketing Mix And Perceived Value on Customer Decision-Making for Community Enterprise Products and Sustainable Development in Singburi Province, Thailand

Objective: Thailand’s 13th National Economic and Social Development Plan (2023–2027) aims to drive sustainable economic growth. This study aims to (1) analyze the current distribution channels for community enterprise products in the Sra Jang sub-district of Singburi Province, (2) improve and expand these distribution channels, and (3) promote the sustainable development of community enterprises in the region. Method: The research population includes potential consumers of local community products across Thailand, selected using convenience sampling. Participants were chosen from various regions, including tourist destinations and general locations , resulting in 400 respondents. To address incomplete data, an additional 50 participants were included, making a final sample of 450. The Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), which recommend a sample size between 200 and 400.Data was gathered using a validated questionnaire, pre-tested with 40 participants, yielding reliability values between 0.7 and 1.00. The questionnaire was reviewed by an academic advisor and deemed suitable .Descriptive statistics summarized demographics, while SEM tested hypotheses and examined complex relationships, with model fit evaluated using indices like CFI and RMSEA . Results: the model’s Goodness of Fit Indices (CMIN/df = 3.466, GFI = 0.956, RMSEA = 0.079) demonstrated consistency with empirical data. Path analysis revealed that the Marketing Mix directly impacts Perceived Value with a coefficient of 0.560 and influences Customer Decision-Making both directly (coefficient of 0.382) and indirectly through Perceived Value (coefficient of 0.280), for a total effect of 0.661. Perceived Value also directly impacts Customer Decision-Making with a coefficient of 0.501. Contribution: Based on these findings, businesses should prioritize optimizing their Marketing Mix strategies to enhance Perceived Value and improve Customer Decision-Making , focusing on product quality, pricing, distribution, and promotion. Emphasizing perceived value and refining strategies through data analytics can help maintain a competitive advantage and strengthen customer decision-making pathways.

Towards a “Social Justice Ecosystem Framework” for Enhancing Livelihoods and Sustainability in Pastoralist Communities

Aimed at understanding how pastoralist livelihoods are affected within the Northwest Region of Cameroon, this article explores the nexus of social justice, indigenous know-how, livelihoods, social security, and sustainability through a political ecology lens. Through a qualitative case study based on in-depth interviews with 59 key informants, this study departs from existing literature by exploring the linkages that exacerbate risks and vulnerabilities for pastoralist livelihoods. We situate the contending issues through emerging data and analysis, which highlight indigenous elements that sustain pastoralist livelihoods (coping strategies and sustenance) and identify diversified barriers that impede pastoralists’ sense of social justice and community-mindedness. Other intersecting pointers identified relate to environmental interactions, social security, sustainability, and decision-making within local and national governance mechanisms that either enhance or impede sustainable development. We proposed a social justice ecosystem framework (SJEF) that uncovers the enmeshments of social justice, social security, indigenous know-how, and livelihoods, with implications for sustainable development. The framework makes a compelling case for co-produced policies; implementing symbiotic social justice-based policies is mandatory, encapsulating thriving aspects of pastoralists’ unique traditions, which are often missed by governments and agencies in social community development planning and sustainable development initiatives.

Measurement and Analysis of the Relationship between General Revenues and Imbalance in Iraq's Export Structure For duration (2004-2021)

The Iraqi economy relies primarily on oil exports to achieve necessary financial surpluses in order to finance economic and social development plans. Capital imports also contribute to improving the productive capacity of all sectors that directly or indirectly contribute to the country's economic growth if they actually exist. These imports, represented by the equipment and machinery necessary for building and developing infrastructure in Iraq, which cannot be provided except through foreign trade, make Iraq closely connected to broad economic relationships with most of the developed world economies. Oil revenues have had a positive impact on the general budget situation. However, on the other hand, the lack of a productive base has led to the leakage of revenues towards imports to meet domestic demand, resulting in an imbalance in the overall export structure. Moreover the research objective was to identify the relative importance of total exports in Iraq and how they are affected by oil revenues during the period 2004-2021. The hypothesis is fiscal policy has led to a disruption in the structure of Iraq's exports. And one of the most important result that appeared general revenues depend to a large extent on oil revenues compared to other revenues (non-oil), which means that the Iraqi economy is considered one-sided. With the weakness of revenues achieved from productive sectors (industry and agriculture) as well as weak tax revenues, this leads to an imbalance in the structure of the trade balance, evident through the dominance of oil exports over total exports in the country. The Complex Pathway to Green Fields: Opportunities and Challenges of Organic Agriculture in Thailand

This article explores the complex dynamics of organic agriculture in Thailand, focusing on the interplay of economic viability, environmental sustainability, and consumer awareness. Since the implementation of the National Economic and Social Development Plan in 1961, Thailand has emphasized cash crop production, leading to increased reliance on chemical fertilizers and pesticides, which have raised significant environmental and health concerns. The article highlights the pivotal role of non-governmental organizations, such as the Alternative Agriculture Network, in advocating for sustainable farming practices and facilitating knowledge transfer between producers and consumers. Despite the potential benefits of organic farming, challenges persist, including labor-intensive production methods, declining interest among younger generations in agricultural careers, and a general lack of consumer understanding regarding organic products. The article underscores the importance of local financial support systems, such as cooperative loans, and government initiatives aimed at promoting organic agriculture. It argues that enhancing consumer awareness and demand for organic products is essential for fostering a sustainable agricultural future in Thailand. Ultimately, the findings suggest that a multi-faceted approach involving policy support, education, and community engagement is necessary to overcome the barriers to organic farming and ensure its growth in the Thai agricultural landscape.

An energy system model-based approach to investigate cost-optimal technology mixes for the Cuban power system to meet national targets

Cuba's power supply is characterized by the dependence on imported oil, outdated power plants and frequent power curtailment. Cuba's government aims at changing this situation through the National Economic and Social Development Plan, which targets a renewable share of 37 % in 2030. In the longer term, the Cuban government has already acknowledged the goal of 100 % renewable electricity supply. This work reviews the current ambitions of the Cuban government and provides a scientific approach to identifying the most cost-effective 100 % renewable energy system in 2030. First, we study whether the generation mix proposed by the Cuban government to reach 37 % renewables is the most cost-effective. Second, we run a simulation that considers fossil and renewable energy technologies purely to optimize costs. Third, we investigate the renewable future for Cuba with a simulation under the constraint of a 100 % renewable energy share. Our results suggest that energy sector plans should be reconsidered from a techno-economic point of view: With the overall cost-optimization, we find that much higher renewable energy shares of over 80 % are possible at lower overall costs. Finally, we analyze that the cost viability of a 100 % renewable electricity depends largely on the ability to use Cuba's biomass resources to balance solar generation.

The teaching methods and levels can be optimized by focusing on the problems existing in the teaching process of electronic and information science courses, carrying out teaching reform, and putting forward the project-based learning approach with local characteristics.

The Research Progress of China E-commerce Analysis in Different Periods of Epidemic

This article describes how e-commerce in China has developed in different periods of time, respectively, the stable development before the epidemic, like the three five-year plans, in China, the five-year plan, known as the Outline of the Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of the Peoples Republic of China, is an important part of Chinas national economic programme and is a long-term plan. How Could Digital Transformation Help Medium-Sized Enterprises Access Thailand’s New Capital Market Financing (LiVEx) to Support Sustainable Growth in the Digital Economy Era?

In today’s modern era, digital transformation serves as a crucial element for organizations to gain a competitive edge and optimize their operating systems. However, medium-sized enterprises in Thailand face difficulties in accessing capital market financing, despite its significance in promoting the development of small- and medium-sized enterprises according to the 13th National Economic and Social Development Plan. One potential solution to this issue is digital transformation, which can help these enterprises achieve their strategic business objectives and find a reliable source of funding while enhancing their reputation and credibility, thereby contributing to the growth of the economy as a whole. This study utilized a mixed-methods approach to explore how digital transformation can assist medium-sized enterprises in accessing LiVEx, a new capital market for Thai SMEs. We conducted extensive research and interviewed 12 senior executives across three groups, government agencies, LiVEx-listed companies, and social associations, to develop a questionnaire and conceptual model. Data collected from 360 individuals working in medium-sized enterprises in Thailand collected using an online questionnaire were then analyzed, using CFA and SEM techniques to validate the model. Our study emphasizes the importance of digital literacy, digital usage, and digital advocacy in the success of digital transformation in accessing Thai capital market financing. These findings serve as a valuable knowledge repository for future research.

Development of High-Quality Human Resources for Tourism in Quang Binh Province in the Context of International Integration

According to the economic and social development plan with a vision towards 2030, Quang Binh province identifies tourism as a key economic sector. To achieve this goal, alongside its natural and human resource advantages, the high-quality workforce is a crucial factor in determining the development of tourism in Quang Binh. Through the use of analytical and synthesis methods, and historical and logical comparisons, we have conducted research to identify one of the key factors influencing the transformation of the quality of tourism in Quang Binh is the high-quality workforce. From analyzing the role of developing a high-quality workforce, and understanding the achievements, limitations, and challenges posed in the development of a high-quality tourism workforce in Quang Binh today, this article focuses on several solution groups such as: i) strengthening the state's management role in developing high-quality tourism workforce, ii) enhancing the quality of training for high-quality tourism workforce, iii) raising awareness of the role, position, and importance of high-quality workforce in tourism development.

Appropriate Inclusion: A Novel Framework for the Development of China's Special Education

Purpose This study examines the Action Plan for the Development and Improvement of Special Education (hereinafter, the Action Plan) of the 14th Five-Year Plan, a national blueprint for special education forwarded by the General Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China in December 2021. Design/Approach/Methods This is an analytical policy review. Findings In analyzing the policy highlights and characteristics of the Action Plan, this policy review identifies four factors motivating the policy: the United Nations’ Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the Outline of the People's Republic of China 14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development and Long-Range Objectives for 2035, educational equity, and the high-quality development of special education. In addition to proposing three developmental requirements in line with China's national conditions, the Action Plan establishes eight implementation strategies and three support systems for the initial development of high-quality special education. Originality/Value The findings of this article will enhance leaders’ and relevant stakeholders’ understanding of new directions in and future paths of the high-quality development of special education in China.

The silent threat and countermeasures: Navigating the mixture risk of endocrine-disrupting chemicals on pregnancy loss in China

Currently, many countries and regions worldwide face the challenge of declining population growth due to persistently low rates of female reproduction. Since 2017, China's birth rate has hit historic lows and continued to decline, with the death rate now equaling the birth rate. Concerns have emerged regarding the potential impact of environmental contaminants on reproductive health, including pregnancy loss. Endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) like phthalate esters (PAEs), bisphenol A (BPA), triclosan (TCS), and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) have raised attention due to their adverse effects on biological systems. While China's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) for national economic and social development included the treatment of emerging pollutants, including EDCs, there are currently no national appraisal standards or regulatory frameworks for EDCs and their mixtures. Addressing the risk of EDC mixtures is an urgent matter that needs consideration from China's perspective in the near future. In this Perspective, we delve into the link between EDC mixture exposure and pregnancy loss in China. Our focus areas include establishing a comprehensive national plan targeting reproductive-aged women across diverse urban and rural areas, understanding common EDC combinations in women and their surrounding environment, exploring the relationship between EDCs and pregnancy loss via epidemiology, and reconsidering the safety of EDCs, particularly in mixtures and low-dose scenarios. We envision that this study could aid in creating preventive strategies and interventions to alleviate potential risks induced by EDC exposure during pregnancy in China.

Population Changes Under the Impact of Industrialization in Vietnam: A Case Study of Binh Duong Province

Population change is a key component of Vietnam's economic development paradigm. However, in each locality, population shifts can be stimulating while also posing hurdles to socioeconomic development programs. This article assesses population changes in Binh Duong province and suggests plans for development and population control. The findings suggest that Binh Duong has a diversified population and is constantly receiving new population classes. Binh Duong's population increased the most rapidly between 1997 and 2023, following a centuries-long steady pace. This is also a time of dramatic demographic change, with the population becoming more multi-ethnic, multi-regional, multinational, and multicultural. Binh Duong's socioeconomic development successes reflect the contributions of all segments of the community, with immigrants playing a significant role. Binh Duong province must develop and implement policies for sustainable population management and development, including the establishment of a population database system linked to economic and social development strategies, the incorporation of population policies into economic, social, and cultural development programs and plans, and the linking of population development and management policies to sustainable population policies.

Development path of a modern rural power grid under dual carbon target based on data analysis

Abstract In China’s economic and social development planning, dual carbon goals and modern rural constructions have become new keywords. It is important to realize the green transformation of energy systems and complete the construction of a modern rural power grid based on data analysis under the guidance of dual carbon goals. Based on the systematic summary of the rural energy structure, this paper assesses the current situation of the scientific and technological development of rural power grids, analyzes the main problems faced by the development of rural power grids, and gives suggestions on the path of energy transformation and the path of rural power grid development. The results show that rural energy transformation plays an important role in the implementation of the dual carbon goals, and the relationship between the long-term and short-term goals of rural energy transformation, top-level design and differentiated development, government regulation and market forces, development stage and energy consumption expenditure must be handled well. In addition, as an important support, rural power grid enterprises should seize the opportunities brought by the construction of rural power grids under the dual carbon goals, make rural power a technology to be valued, and promote the further development of new energy-related technologies.

KENYA: ESTABLISHING THE NATURE AND RATE OF RESILIENCE (RECOVERY) AMONG THE DISPLACED POPULATION IN NAKURU COUNTY

Although internal displacement of persons has been witnessed in Kenya over the years, the 2007/08 episode was the most severe. This study was conducted to examine the socio-eco nomic characteristics of the internally displaced population (IDPs) and to assess the nature of the initial resettlement among the displaced population at the Nakuru Pipeline Complex, Nakuru County, Kenya. The study used a survey design and sampled 260 households from the resettle ment register. Questionnaires which included the household displacement deprivation scale and key informant guide were used. Indicators that were rated worst (i.e., severely or rarely available or accessible) at the time of the initial settlement in 2008 included loss of self-esteem (82%), loss of income (82%), loss of employment (78%), lack of shelter (81%) and loss of property (71%). By 2018, there were considerable improvements (recovery) that included housing (72.0%), food access (63.0%), water (57.0%), and clothing (54.0%) compared to the initial crisis periods. Given the occurrence of processes that induce disasters and displacement, social development efforts should be directed to the reduction of vulnerabilities, including socio-ecological vulnerabilities. Such measures will ensure that when disasters and displacements occur, it will be possible for the people, and citizens, to recover, adapt to new environments, and continue with their liveli hoods. Reduction of severity in magnitude and duration will need to be an integral part of the social development planning. Key Characterizes of Education Sector Development Program for Quality Improvement of Primary and Secondary Schools in Ethiopia

The Ethiopian government prioritizes education because it believes it is important for reducing poverty and developing the country. The education system has four levels: pre-primary, primary, secondary, and higher education. Pre-primary education is for children aged 4-6, primary education is for children aged 7-14, secondary education is for children aged 15-18, and higher education is for students of all ages. The preparation process for the Ethiopian Social Development Plan (ESDP) was flexible and adapted to the specific context. This approach was a major factor in the success of the process. Therefore, this study does not provide a one-size-fits-all template for preparing other ESDPs, but instead highlights the general principles and issues that are important to consider. Expansion is a central and outstanding feature of the many changes that have characterized the Ethiopian education system at all levels. This trend is likely to continue, as evidenced by the Education Sector Development Program. Primary and secondary education research and policy studies are too numerous to list. The MOE’s management capacity can be evaluated by relevance (participatory planning), efficiency, and effectiveness.

Predicting Date Production in Iraq Using Recurrent Neural Networks RNN

Artificial intelligence methods play an important role in predicting future values of time series and thus help in setting economic and social development plans. The study aimed to predict the production of dates in Iraq using recurrent neural networks, based on the production of dates in Iraq for the period from 2002-2021. The appropriate prediction model was chosen based on the MSE, MAPE, and MAE error measures. Recurrent neural networks that used the TRAINBR training function and the Purlin function were adopted to predict the production of dates in Iraq, which gives the lowest error value for the MSE, MAPE, and MAE error measures.

한국 여성 직업훈련정책의 변천과정 연구

Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine the process of change in women's vocational training policies in South Korea from the liberation to the present, and analyze the characteristics of women's vocational training policy.
 Methods To this end, comprehensive policy documents regarding women’s vocational training policies, such as the 6th - 7th Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development, the 1st-4th Basic Plan for Women's Policy, the 1st-3rd Basic Plan for Gender Equality Policy, the 1st-3rd Basic Plan for vocational Competency Development, are analyzed.
 Results South Korea's women's vocational training policy progress can be divided into five stages: preparatory stage, nascent stage, settlement stage, development stage, and transition stage. During the preparatory period, from the liberation to the early 1980s, no women's vocational training policy was established, and the focus of women's vocational training was on liberal arts education for vulnerable women. Since the mid-1980s, laws and policies on women's vocational training have been introduced in the nascent stage. From the 1990s, during the settlement period, women’s vocational training policies were actively pursued to expand vocational training opportunities for women. Since the enactment of the Framework Act on Women's Development (1995), a systematic policy for women’s vocational training has been established, leading to the development stage. Lastly, since 2015, during the transition period, policies such as gender mainstreaming of vocational training and expansion of women's vocational training opportunities for high-skilled occupations are promoted.
 Conclusions Women's vocational training policies in South Korea have progressed along with the development of women's policy. Its policy direction has changed from low-skilled women to high-skilled women training. In addition, the policy target of women’s vocational training was gradually diversified and specified. The results of this study help to understand in depth the characteristics of Korean women's vocational training policies, and furthermore, provide implications for women's vocational training policy in developing countries.

The expansion efficiency of urban land in China's urban agglomerations and its impact on ecosystem services

Analyzing the impact of urban land expansion efficiency (ULEE) on ecosystem services (ESs) is crucial to constructing high-quality territorial spatial patterns within urban agglomerations (UAs). While numerous studies have investigated the coercion and disturbance of urban sprawl on the ecological environment, research examining the impact of urban sprawl from an efficiency perspective remains relatively rare. In this study, ten UAs of different levels of development in China are selected as the research objects, and prefecture-level cities are used as the primary research units. CO2 emissions are included as undesired outputs in the measurement and research framework of expansion efficiency to reflect the vision and requirements of emission reduction and carbon neutrality. At the same time, the Spatial Durbin Model (SDM) is used to reveal the impact of ULEE on ESs in years 2005–2021. The main results are as follows: (1) The ULEE within the entire UAs areas exhibited a fluctuating trend across different periods. Efficiency variations were evident among UAs with different development levels. Spatially, the UAs in the central region showed relatively low ULEE, while the northwest and southeast UAs displayed relatively high ULEE. Besides, the expansion efficiency of core cities in each UA exceeded that of surrounding cities. (2) The ecosystem service value (ESV) within the ten UAs demonstrated a consistent downward trend. In terms of the rate of ESV decline among UAs with varying developmental levels, breeding UAs exhibited the most rapid decline, followed by growing UAs, while mature UAs experienced the slowest decline. (3) Over the study period, the ULEE in UA areas positively contributed to enhancing ESs, with varying effects observed across different time frames. Natural factors directly influenced ES changes, thereby affecting both ULEE and Es dynamics. In contrast, changes in social factors indirectly caused changes in ESs. This study underscores the importance of a comprehensive assessment of ULEE and ESs to provide a scientific reference for formulating high-quality social and economic development and territorial spatial planning.
