Analytical dependences were obtained for calculating the specific deformation force during drop forging porous powder preforms, with consideration of the dimensions and initial density of billets. These permit construction of a graph of the operational slide bar load of a crank press for a given case of forging. These are principal aspects in planning calculations for equipment and for development of the technical process of drop forging porous billets. A check of the dependences obtained by comparison with experiment indicated adequately good agreement between calculated and experimental data.
