Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Numbered Head Together (NHT) Terhadap Hasil Belajar IPA Ditinjau Dari Keterampilan Proses Sains

The study was entitled the effect of NHT (Numbered Head Together) Cooperative Learning Methods on Science Learning Outcomes in terms of Learning Process Skills (Experiments in Class VIII Students of Mts. Al-Falah Harapan Jaya Cibinong Bogor). The experimental method is to provide different types of treatment to two different types of treatment. student study groups. One group was used as an experimental group, namely given the physics learning treatment with the (Numbered Head Together) method, while the other group as a control group with the physics learning treatment using conventional methods. The research design used was post-test (Control Design Group). With the results of the study: 1. The Effect of the Interaction of the Use of Learning Methods (Numbered Head Together) (NHT) on Science Learning Outcomes in terms of Student Learning Process Skills in Human Motion System Material, it can be concluded that there is no significant influence between the use of the method. defender jaran (Numbered Head Together) (NHT) on science learning outcomes in terms of student learning process skills; 2. The Influence of the Use of Learning Methods (Numbered Head Together) (NHT) on Science Learning Outcomes in Human Movement System Material, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between the use of the learning method (Numbered Head Together) (NHT) on the science learning outcomes; 3. The Influence of Student Learning Process Skills on Science Learning Outcomes in Human Motion System Material it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between student learning process skills on science learning outcomes.

THE EFFECT OF PROBLEM-BASED PRACTICE TOWARDS LEARNING OUTCOME AND PROCESS SKILL ON CELL MATERIAL

This study aims to determine the effect of problem-based practice on student learning outcome and process skill in cell material in class XI Science Kartika Private High School 1-2 T.P 2018/2019. This research was conducted in July-September, at SMA Kartika 1-2 Medan. The population of this study was all students of class XI as many as 179 people. Samples are taken randomly. There were as many as 72 students. Statistical analysis showed that the average student learning outcomes in the experimental class are pretest of 63.22 and posttest of 82.89, while the control class pretest is 59.55 and the posttest is 69.44. Then hypothesis test (t-test) showed that (tcount = 5.4561 > ttable = 1.997). Which is means that the problem-based practice has a significant effect on the learning outcome. Besides, practice using PBL models can improve student process skills. This is shown in the results of the experimental class observation sheet having an average process skill in the “High” category. Whereas in the control class the average process skill is only up to the “Medium” category. So it can be concluded that the Problem-based practice has a significant effect on the learning outcome and process skill of class XI students of Private Kartika Senior High School 1-2 Medan T.P 2018/2019.

Need assesment for development of inquiry based learning materials using PhET media to enhance students’ science process skills

This study is a preliminary stage on development learning materials using inquiry model and PhET media to enhance junior high school students’ science process skills. The need assessment is aimed to give preliminary understanding in term of curriculum, learning theory, challenge and needs in the future. The data is gathered by observation, interview and documentation methods. Descriptive analysis had been chosen as the data analysis method. The result showed the following facts. First, the implementation of Curriculum 2013 with inquiry learning model and supported by PhET Media is necessary to improve the students’ science process skills. Second, the students need to have competencies in affective learning outcome, psychomotor skills, cognitive product and process skills. Third, the set of learning materials needed are including syllabus, lesson plan, students’ book, students’ worksheet and assessment sheet in density and buoyancy topic for the eight-grade junior high school students of SMP Lab Undiksha Singaraja.

The Development of Science Learning Device Based on Interconnected Integration in Increasing Critical and Creative Thinking Students'

Interconnected Integration based learning is really needed to narrow the dualism space or the science dichotomy which separates between general education and religion education which then has an impact on the separation and segregation of religious awareness and general science. In the learning process, critical and creative thinking skills are very important, because it can make people become more mentally flexible, open and easy to adapt to various situations and problems. The type of this research was research and development. The development model used in this study was a modification of Borg and Gall's development stage which states that there were 10 stages in research and development. The research results showed that the instructional materials produced had very good validity (89%), very practical (91.19% by teachers and 86.21% by students and very efficient with the average critical and creative thinking (pretest) of students; 66.31 and posttest 80.26, and the results of the t-test count = 15.712 with sig 0.00 <0.05. This shows that there were significant differences before being treated and after treated by using the interconnection approach in improving students' critical and creative thinking.

Best Practices for Student Satisfaction in Achieving Academic Excellence – An Empirical Research

With the advent of technology and the challenges of engaging the students positively in the classroom, there is a humongous responsibility on the part of the educators, to satisfy the requirements of the students. The objective of the study is to investigate the effect of best practices in achieving students’ satisfaction. Some of the best practices that have been considered for achieving student satisfaction in this paper include academic (teaching learning process and knowledge acquisition and skills), social (a sense of belonging and interaction with faculty and peers), and environmental (sense of connectedness and utilization of campus resources). An innovative Student Satisfaction Measuring Instrument SSMI) was developed and used to measure the students’ satisfaction with reference to achieving academic excellence. The pilot study was administered for 20 students before the actual application of the instrument. Based on the feedback from the students and peers, the SSMI was improved to further fit in the requirements. The questionnaire included students’ demographic data, socio-economic status and close-ended questions in a five Likert type scale. The sample consisted of N = 286, where 113 (39.5%) were female and 173 (60.5%) were male undergraduate first year students of PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research (PSG iTech). The data was analyzed using, Pearson r and ANOVA to identify the levels of student satisfaction. It was found that the subscales namely college environment, classroom infrastructure, teaching learning process, student-teacher relationship had a positive effect on achieving students’ satisfaction. The results of the study also indicate that the students’ satisfaction had a significant impact on their academic excellence. Further, this research will also sensitize curriculum developers, teacher trainers, administrators, and especially the teachers about the importance of best practices to be adopted for creating a conducive environment for student satisfaction. The work has been concluded with suggestions and future developments in achieving high academic performance with satisfied students.

Guided Inquiry Assisted Concept Map to Improve Students Metacognition Skills

Metacognition is aspect in an effort to build students’ understanding of chemistry. Preliminary study conducted at SMAN 1 Banjarmasin showed that only a few students who can evaluate their learning process, so that the ability of students using metacognition in learning process is still low. The guided inquiry assisted concept map with metacognition approach is an alternative to improving students’ metacognition skills in learning process. The research was carried out using classroom action research design with two cycle. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were students of XI Natural Science 5 SMAN 1 Banjarmasin with 36 students. The research data collected using metacognition skills test instrument and non test instrument. Data were analyzed with quantitative descriptive and qualitative analysis. Metacognition skills of students has increased after treatment with guided inquiry assisted concept map. The process of implementation of the action is seen from teacher and student activity. Teacher activity increased from 71, 77 to 87.94. Student activity increased to 87, 4 from beginning at 68, 16. Implementation of quided inqury assisted concept map model with metacognition approach can improve students metacognition skill, student activity and teacher activity.

The Effect of Outdoor Classroom Activity to the Writing Skill for Students English Department

This research is concerned with The Effect of Outdoor Classroom Activity to the Writing Skill for student’s English department Universitas of Dharmas Indonesia. The objective of this research is to find out whether there is a significant difference in teaching writing skills between the students who are taught by using outdoor classroom activity and those who are not taught by using outdoor classroom activity. The implement of outdoor classroom activity in teaching learning process especially in writing skills can be assumed students' knowledge through the solid situation such as caring students outdoor the classroom so that the students can analyze their minds through what they observe and examine precisely. Hence, this research used an experimental research that was taken at first semester students' English Department. The experimental research involved two classes of students. The sample of this research was taken randomly. Both classes were provide pre-test and post-test. Next, the students of the group were learned by proving outdoor classroom activity at the same time the control group is learned beyond outdoor classroom activity. The occur of this research, as chases: The analysis occur of the experimental class offers that the mean count of the pre-test is 45.47 and the means count of the post-test is 71.82. It offers that the experimental class can improve student writing skill in learning process.

Measuring Junior High School Students Science Learning and Science Process Skills through an Integrated Science Instructional Assessment

This study aimed to produce a valid and reliable assessment tool for junior high school students’ integrated science learning and determine their improvement of science process skills (SPS) using the integrated science instruction. The research procedure consisted of ten stages, i.e., preliminary study, planning, development of draft assessment tool, validation of draft assessment tool, first revision of draft version, pilot study, second revision (stage II), operational field tests, third revision (stage III), and dissemination. The Aiken V formula was utilized to obtain instrument’s validity, whilst interclass correlation coefficients were calculated for its reliability. The results showed that the instructional assessment was valid with lowest (0.89) and highest (0.98) validity values. The reliability coefficients of the first, second and third observation sheets were found to be 0.93, 0.94 and 0.92, respectively, which fell into a very good category. This means that these observation sheets were feasible for measuring SPS. The results indicated that the students’ SPS levels were very good for predicting, experimenting, observing, and measuring, while ‘concluding and communicating’ aspects were good.

MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES DAN PENGUASAAN PENGETAHUAN SISWA KELAS XI IPA MELALUI METODE IMPROVE

The purpose of this study is to improve the process skills and mastery of students' knowledge in linear program material through the improve method in class XI IPA 4 SMA Negeri 1 Pandaan. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart models, through two stages: (1) the initial observation stage (pre-action); and (2) the implementation phase of the action. Data instruments used were (1) an observation sheet to assess students 'learning process skills, and (2) written test questions sheets in the form of a post test to conduct an assessment of the mastery of students' learning outcomes. The data analysis technique used is the triangulation technique. The results showed there was a significant increase in the learning process skills and the mastery of students' learning outcomes knowledge. Based on the results of these achievements, it is necessary to take alternative actions in implementing appropriate and effective improve methods.

Peningkatan Keterampilan Proses IPA Menggunakan Metode Eksperimen pada Siswa Kelas VC SD Bantul Timur

This study aims to improve the science learning process skills using experimental method in grade fifth C of Bantul Timur Elementary School. This type of research is classroom action research grade fifth C of Bantul Timur elementary school. The design of this study is classroom action research according to Kemmis and McTaggart which consists of action planning, action and observation, and reflection. The data were collected using observation. The data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive. The results showed by used experimental method in science learning in the first cycle from 68.13% increased to 80.75% in the second cycle. Students who reach minimum value in the first cycle are 13 students or 43% to 27 students or 90% in cycle II.

The Effect of Model Two Stay Two Stray on Student Learnt Competencies on Ecosystem at Senior High School 4 Pariaman

This research aims to find out the effect of Two Stay Two stray model towards students' learning competencies, which still below from the average and there have no learning process that pursue the students to be active and creative until the students can increase their learning competencies; knowledge, attitude and skill in learning process. The research was quasi-experimental reserach with control group post-test only design. The population of this research was X IPA grade students that devided into five classes at SMAN 4 Pariaman in academic year 2018/2019. The sample was taken by purposive sampling technique which grade X IPA3 as the experimental group and grade X IPA1 as the control group. The result of this research showed the average score for grade X IPA3 was (75,43) for experimental group and (67,57) for control group in students' learning competencies. Then for behavioural competence the average score in experimental group was (84,21) and the control group reached (81,86) which the data was distributed normally and variant homogeneously. In hyphotesis testing was found by the formula tcount> ttable, learning competency (3,15 > 1,67), behavioural competency (1,76 > 1,67). Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that the Two Stay Two Stray model give positive effect for the students' learning competencies in ecosystem at SMAN 4 Pariaman.

IDENTIFIKASI KESALAHAN SISWA BERDASARKAN NEWMAN DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL PADA MATERI PERSAMAAN KUADRAT TINGKAT SEKOLAH MENENGAH PERTAMA

This study aims to identify student errors in working on mathematical questions in the quadratic equation material to determine the root of the quadratic equation by means of the quadratic formula (ABC formula) using the Newman analysis method. This study uses a qualitative approach and the type of research conducted is descriptive. The research subjects were taken from one class IX in SMP Negeri 54 Palembang in the 2018/2019 academic year as many as 32 students and samples taken below the KKM score were 10 students. The research instrument used the LKS test results. The data analysis concluded that students made (1) errors in the problem reading stage by 98% of students, (2) errors in understanding problems by 20% of students, (3) errors in the transformation stage by 20% students, (4) errors at the stage learning process skills for 60% of students, (5) errors at the final answer writing stage for 98% of students.

Evaluation of a new e-learning framework for teaching nuclear medicine and radiology to undergraduate medical students.

BackgroundRadiology and nuclear medicine have traditionally been taught in a series of lectures and seminars concluded by an examination testing knowledge rather than skills.PurposeTo emphasize skills in the students’ learning process, we developed and evaluated a new e-learning framework for teaching medical imaging.Material and MethodsThe framework consists of electronic lectures, a learning management system (LMS), and a diagnostic viewing system. Students were to review positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) examinations of five cases of lung cancer. The framework was evaluated in an objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) taken by 139 undergraduate students at the end of their third year, and in a comparative survey of two groups of 85 and 84 students in the fifth and sixth year who were taught the same oncology course with and without mandatory PET/CT exercises, respectively.ResultsOf the 139 third-year students, 134 (96%) passed the OSCE PET/CT station according to the predefined criteria. While 85/85 (100%) of the fifth-year students had taken exercises when they were mandatory, only 2/84 (2%) of the sixth-year students had reviewed the cases on a voluntary basis (P < 0.001). Of the 25 survey responders in the fifth year, 24 (96%) agreed that the mandatory PET/CT exercises had promoted their learning while the sixth-year students, whose course concluded with a multiple-choice examination, emphasized the utility of online lectures.ConclusionThe new e-learning framework teaches students basic competency in PET/CT navigation and interpretation and is associated with a high degree of student satisfaction.

Students Profile’s Scientific Process Skills on Ecosystem Material Viewed from Favorite High School

This study aims to determine the profile of scientific process skills of students in state high school in Bantul Regency, Indonesia in term of favorite school. The population of this study is a state high school in Bantul Regency which has become a pilot project and has implemented the curriculum of 2013 starting in 2013/2014 with total 4 school. The study sample involved 339 students of grade X. Source of students’ scientific skill profile data are from written tests, while favorite schools were obtained from interviews. Validity and reliability using Kappa coefficient and item sensitivity index. Data processing is done descriptively. The results of the study are: (a) Profile of scientific process skills competency capability of the students of state high school in Bantul Regency was very good. (b) The level of students’ preference towards the favorite school affects the ability of scientific process skill in learning process of subject Biology.

Validity of physics learning module based on problem based learning to improve students metacognitive skills

Metacognitive includes to high-level thinking domain that involves active control in the cognitive process to solve a problem. Various efforts to improve the mastery of metacognitive skills was indispensable, one through the use of module that stimulated the metacognitive skills of students. This research and development (R&D) aims to produce physics learning module based on problem based learning on topic of momentum and impulses. Module developmnt used Plomp model. To use this module, validation is required. Module was validated by five experts (three lectures of Universitas Negeri Padang and two physics teachers of senior high school 1 2X11 Enam lingkung). The data collection used questionnaire method. Aiken’s V was used to analyze vaidity. The validation results showed that content validity were 0.89 by expert and 0.86 by practitioners, contruct validity 0.84 by expert and 0.87 by practitioners, and language validity 0.84 by expert and 0.83 by practitioners with valid category and can be used to determine the improvement of metacognitive skills of students. Suggested to physics teachers to implemented the problem based learning module and emphasised metacognitive skills in learning process.

The analysis of discussion pattern of lesson study-based learning process skill in vocational school

Theory and practice are the ones that must be mastered in studying biology. The facts in the field show that biological knowledge is not accompanied by activities to practice the knowledge so that it focuses just on the theory. For this reason, a learning approach that develops knowledge acquisition processing skill which is a process skill is needed. Apart from the implementation of the strategies used, the success of the teaching and learning process cannot be separated from the teacher’s efforts. Lesson Study is one that can be used as a method for teachers to exchange ideas in the preparation and development of Biology learning plans. The purpose of this research was to determine the discussion pattern of Lesson Study-based learning process skill in High School (Vocational High School). The type of research is quasi experimental by applying learning skills based on the Lesson Study processes in the experimental class and conventional learning model in the control class. The results of the research analysis showed that there were varied patterns of discussion between collaborative groups and other group members with a significance of 0.041 (sig. = 0.041 <0.05). The pattern of discussion between teachers and students happened widely, teachers did not side with any group, and also guided people to be able to carry out learning well.

An adaptation of traditional Turkish educational games to the teaching of vocabulary in EFL environment

Vocabulary plays a vital role in all methods and approaches in ELT. Vocabulary knowledge is one of the significant sub-skills for not only receptive but also productive skills in foreign language learning process. As the techniques used to teach vocabulary vary in approaches for different purposes, it can be observed that they can be classified as conscious or explicit and unconscious or implicit ones. This paper aims to outline some traditional methods of vocabulary teaching particularly young learners; the significance of game –based teaching process in education; the application of educational games in language classes; some studies carried out with the purpose of searching the effects of educational games in foreign language learning process; the benefits of teaching frequent vocabulary through games for young learners through the related literature. Identification of Students Basic Science Process Skills Assisted of Practical Worksheet Based on Multiple Representations

Skills in the learning process are needed by students to be able to shape and develop the character possessed. This study aims to identify basic science process skills of students assisted practical worksheet based on multiple representations as media. This research was conducted by observation method that was done at the time of practicum activity by using an observation sheet and test method with response test. Students did practicum with practical worksheet media equipped with basic science process skills indicator and multiple representation level. Then the students worked the question with the basic science process skill indicators in it. Based on the analysis of the observation result, the basic science process skills profile of students in SMAN 11 Semarang was included in the high criteria with a range of 68 to 84. The criteria for each basic science process skills indicator were also analyzed from practicum 1 and practicum 2 which is high for indicators to observation, classifying, measuring, inferencing, predicting and knowing the relation of numbers and very high for indicators communicating and knowing relation between space and time. It can be concluded that students have demonstrated proficiency profile of basic science process. This research can be used as a reference for teachers and other researchers to improve student’s basic science process skills on different subjects.
