In this paper I studied on he meaning structure and the spiritual sphere in Lee InRo’s The poetical prose of red peach well(紅桃井賦). To summarize the content of this article:
Firstly although the number of letters in each phrase is from 3 to 11, this work corresponds to Bae-bu(俳賦)-paired potical prose developed in the six dynasties after the Later Han in that the 4 and 6 are paired. Secondly although there is a difference in the number of phrases in a paragraph of this work follows the composition method of Chinese poetry in terms of meaning. Thirdly he uses expletive words. Fourthly this work is written in a narrative style not a description style. Fifthly although this work is written in a narrative style it has strong lyricism as each phrase contains images and meanings. Sixth the persona relies on things to describe its thoughts.
Lee In-ro created Hongdo-jeongbu in the form of a BaeBu for the following reasons. Firstly he was in charge of making the king's rules at the Hallimwon(翰林院) for a long time. Secondly his consciousness did not want to be bound anywhere. Thirdly he and the era in which he lived were led by the superhuman spirit and he also accepted it so he accepted the form of distribution and wrote.
The orientation of the the spiritual sphere shown in Hongdo-jeongbu is as follows. Firstly it is aiming for a bright and positive world. The the persona contains lyricism in its own way in this work which has a strong narrative element. Secondly it is the orientation of a free spirit that is not tied down. He is aiming for a noble appearance by transcending worldly greed. Thirdly it is the orientation of communion with foreign things through leisure. He tried to relax in the superhuman spirit not the humanistic spirit. Fourthly it is the direction of a simple life that is free from splendor. He concluded this Hongdojeongbu emphasizing that it is more precious to cultivate one's mind and build virtue than greed by abandoning the desire for money or honor.
