Application of the Intelligent Control System of Biological Aerated Filter Wastewater Treatment

Due to the traditional wastewater treatment method has disadvantages of low efficiency and high-energy, in allusion to these problems, this paper proposed a kind of intelligent wastewater treatment control system based on biological aerated filter (BAF), combined with strong function of SIEMENS S7-300 PLC. It introduced the principle of BAF, configuration scheme, hardware and software design. It can track operation parameters on line, failure diagnosis and alarm, so as to realize intelligent control. Through the actual operation analysis and simulations, show the system runs stably, easy to control and manage, better achieves the quality standard of urban reuse water.

A Control System of the Transferring Robot in Car Assembly Line

In the car assembly line made from a mix of ground plate-type conveying machinery and suspension conveying machinery, a control scheme of the car body automatically conveyed from the ground conveying machinery to overhead one is proposed, and the specific implementing methods are presented. The transferring robot adopts the Cartesian coordinate system and achieves the devices of lifting car bodies in linear motion along with four degrees of freedom by using four servo motors. The control system presented in this paper consists of the SIEMENS S7-300 T-CPU PLC, SINAMICS S120 servo driver components.

Research on Automatic Tape Vulcanizing Tank Hoisting Manipulator Based on PLC

In this paper, an automatic tape vulcanizing tank hoisting manipulator is designed to improve the accuracy and the efficiency in tape vulcanization. The hoisting manipulators control system takes Siemens S7-200 PLC as the core. By controlling two frequency converters and a solenoid valve, the hoisting manipulator not only movs along the Y-axis and Z-axis also clamps the vulcanizing mold. In addition, the hoisting manipulator communicates with the vulcanizing tank through PC / PPI bus and the RS232/485 interface port on PLC, achieving linkage production.

Hardware and software architecture for the integration of the new EC waves launcher in FTU control system

The role of high power electron cyclotron (EC) waves in controlling magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) instabilities in tokamaks has been assessed in several experiments, exploiting the physical effects induced by resonant heating and current drive. Recently a new EC launcher, whose main goal is controlling tearing modes and possibly preventing their onset, is being implemented on FTU. So far most of the components of the launcher control strategy have been realized and successfully tested on plasma experiments. Nevertheless the operations of the new launcher must be completely integrated into the existing one, and to FTU control system. This work deals with this final step, proposing a hardware and software architecture implementing up to date technologies, to achieve a modular and effective control strategy well integrated into a legacy system.The slow control system of the new EC launcher is based on a Siemens S7 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), integrated into FTU control system supervisor through an EPICS11EPICS – Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System [1]. input output controller (IOC) and an in-house developed Channel Access client application creating an abstraction layer that decouples the IOC and the PLC from the FTU Supervisor software. This architecture could enable a smooth migration to an EPICS-only supervisory control system.The real time component of the control system is based on the open source MARTe22MARTe – Multi-Threaded Application Real-Time Executor [2]. framework relying on a Linux real time cluster, devoted to the detection of MHD instabilities and the calculation of the injection angles and the time reference for the radiofrequency power enable commands for the EC launcher.

Progress in control and data acquisition for the ITER neutral beam test facility

SPIDER, the ion source test bed in the ITER neutral beam test facility, is under construction and its operation is expected to start in 2014. Control and data acquisition for SPIDER are undergoing final design. SPIDER CODAS, as the control and data acquisition system is referred to, is requested to manage 25 plant units, to acquire 1000 analogue signals with sampling rates ranging from a few S/s to 10MS/s, to acquire images with up to 100 frames per second, to operate with long pulses lasting up to 1h, and to sustain 200MB/s data throughput into the data archive with an annual data storage amount of up to 50TB. SPIDER CODAS software architecture integrates three open-source software frameworks each addressing specific system requirements. Slow control exploits the synergy among EPICS and Siemens S7 programmable controllers. Data handling is by MDSplus a data-centric framework that is geared towards the collection and organization of scientific data. Diagnostics based on imaging drive the design of data throughput and archive size. Fast control is implemented by using MARTe, a data-driven, object-oriented, real-time environment. The paper will describe in detail the progress of the system hardware and software architecture and will show how the software frameworks interact to provide the functions requested by SPIDER CODAS. The paper will focus on how the performance requirements can be met with the described SPIDER CODAS architecture, describing the progress achieved by carrying out prototyping activities.

The Temperature Control System Research of PVC Latex Batching Based on PLC

The PVC latex batching system has problem of the long time lag and nonlinearity and the precise mathematic mode that is hard to build. Advanced control strategies show strong advantages for resolving these problems, thus the combination of the advanced control strategies with the popular PLC has been the hot area in controlling-industry. In this paper, it proposed to apply the fuzzy control to the Batching system and has completed the design of the fuzzy controller. Based on the characteristics of the PLC, the realization of fuzzy control on PLC and the design method of the fuzzy controller in Siemens S7-300 PLC have been put forward.

Automatic Control Process of Solenoid Valve Production line based on PLC and Touch Screen

Abstract This article introduces the automatic control process of solenoid valve production line with PLC control and touch screen user interface. The production line can produce four types of solenoid valves. There are numerous steps in the production process to ensure the quality of the products, e.g. image error detection and Helium leak detection. The control process uses the Siemens S7-300 as the control core, in conjunction with the Siemens touch screen TP 177B as the human machine interface to achieve the real-time control for the production line. The system control structure, hardware components, software design, as well as the process of automatic control are articulated in this article. The production line runs with consistent stability, the man-machine interface is user friendly, and all the processes have a high level of automation.

Tundish Cover Flux Thickness Measurement Method and Instrumentation Based on Computer Vision in Continuous Casting Tundish

Thickness of tundish cover flux (TCF) plays an important role in continuous casting (CC) steelmaking process. Traditional measurement method of TCF thickness is single/double wire methods, which have several problems such as personal security, easily affected by operators, and poor repeatability. To solve all these problems, in this paper, we specifically designed and built an instrumentation and presented a novel method to measure the TCF thickness. The instrumentation was composed of a measurement bar, a mechanical device, a high-definition industrial camera, a Siemens S7-200 programmable logic controller (PLC), and a computer. Our measurement method was based on the computer vision algorithms, including image denoising method, monocular range measurement method, scale invariant feature transform (SIFT), and image gray gradient detection method. Using the present instrumentation and method, images in the CC tundish can be collected by camera and transferred to computer to do imaging processing. Experiments showed that our instrumentation and method worked well at scene of steel plants, can accurately measure the thickness of TCF, and overcome the disadvantages of traditional measurement methods, or even replace the traditional ones.

Design of Goods Transport Control System Based on PLC

This paper introduces realization of the system based on Siemens PLC and IFIX configuration software. The system uses Siemens s7-300 PLC as the control center, and realizes inter-connection with Industrial Switches, control of the belt transport system, and automatic commodity information collection. It is proved that the system could carry out goods safely and stably. Moreover, it is effective to save the manpower and improve the efficiency.

Research of Mine Drainage Automatic Control System Based on PLC

According to the development of mine automation requirements, Siemens S7-300 PLC is adopted in order to do the research of mine drainage automatic control system in this paper. Combined with frequency control technology, the system can schedule the pumps reasonably by monitoring water level and pressure signals. The Power Plant Boiler Automatic Control Based on PLC

Based on the introduction of the Siemens S7-200 and the works of the boiler, the total power plant boiler control system is designed in details. Besides the initialized program is designed based on the input and output address of all the switches. The communication program is achieved, including the initialization of the program running parameters, the call of the system subroutine, the calculation of the checksum, the real-time data receiving process, etc. Finally, the heat energy is successfully and automaticly converted to the electricity in the boiler based on the PLC.

Design of Safty Network and Power Distribution of Underground Shops of Suqian Powerlong City Plaza

This paper focuses on two main aspects including building safty and energy saving of power distribution system. First of all, BACnet protocol based network characteristics of safty system of underground shops of the Suqian powerlong City Plaza is introduced. And then the fieldbus control network which centers around world well-known PLC such as AB ControlLogix, Siemens S7-300 and Siemens S7-400 is mainly adopted in the design of fire linkage system. ControNet network connects to PROFIBUS network by PD-100S protocol convertor which can convert one protocol to another between DeviceNet and PROFIBUS-DP network. In the design of power supply network, power loss caculation of dry-type transformer is considered firstly, and then empirical design mistaken cognition of power supply network is analyzed and solution for improvement is presented.

The Control System Design of Copper Sleeve Press-Fit Machine

The copper sleeve press-fit machine is a kind of device applied in automobile parts processing. The machine is used to press nine copper sleeves into a mold with nine holes. An automatic control system based on PLC is designed. CPU 224 of Siemens S7-200 series PLC is adopted as the core controller. The machine can be operated by either the human-machine interface or the pushbutton panel. There are all ten cylinders in this machine. The operation sequence and interlock protection of the ten cylinders are controlled by the PLC. In this system there are some necessary fault alarms and protective measures. Application of PLC-Based Automatic Control System in a Pilot-Scale Anoxic/Anaerobic/Aerobic/Pre-Anoxic -MBR Plant

In this paper, in order to ensure stable and efficient operation of a pilot-scale modified A2/O (anoxic/anaerobic/aerobic/pre-anoxic) -MBR plant, the automatic control system based on PLC is designed and introduced from the views of system configuration and unit control methods. The master computer undertakes the monitoring and managing task by Siemens WINCC 7.0 configuring software, while the slave computer implements the function of data collection and automatic control based on Siemens S7-300 PLC. Intelligent PID algorithm is utilized to precisely control the influent flow rate, recycled flow rate and DO concentration in aerobic tank in this system. The commissioning and operation practice has proved that the PLC-based automatic control system greatly improved the degree of automation and achieved high nutrient removal efficiency in this plant.

The Design of Remote Device Monitoring System Based on WINCC and GPRS

In this paper, the remote monitoring system based on WINCC and GPRS is introduced. Status data of field devices collected by Siemens S7-200 PLC is transferred to the data center through GPRS wireless communication network of China mobile and field devices are controlled by PLC receiving commands from the host computer. So, production efficiency and economy benefit are improved greatly.
