This study empirically examined the similarities and differences between groups of American and French women in their grocery shopping activity. An empirical investigation was developed to determine how similar women in these two cultures are in their grocery shopping involvement, smart shopping description and grocery shopping characteristics. Although some differences in response to advertising and sales promotion were found, the results indicate that involvement in grocery shopping and related activities is similar across cultures.
