The so-called serials crisis has created a fiscal dilemma in libraries that cannot be addressed over the long term by simply increasing the serials budget. This situation has brought change to libraries and has challenged librarians to find new solutions to old problems. But there is little consensus as to what needs to be changed nor is there a broad-based method for assessing and analyzing t e conditions in order to reach agreement. The practice of entrepreneurship as espoused by Peter Drucker is examined for its application to the current crisis and as a methodology for change.
