Objective To explore the effect of family nurses' cooperation on the puncture success rate of intravenous infusion indwelling needle in children. Methods A total of 100 pediatric patients receiving intravenous infusion in the First Hospital of Wuhan from March 2016 to March 2017 were selected and were divided into Group A (nurse single operation) and Group B(family nurse collaboration) with 50 cases each according to the random number table. The success rate of one-time catheterization, compliance, pain, satisfaction of family members and occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The success rate (94%), compliance (74%) and family satisfaction (94%) of the children in Group B were significantly higher than those in Group A (64%, 46% and 78%), and the pain level (47 patients with grade 3 and below) in Group B was significantly lower than that in Group A (40 patients with grade 3 and below), with statistically significant differences (P 0.05). Conclusions The participation of family members can improve the success rate of intravenous infusion indwelling needle puncture, relieve the pain, improve the compliance, reduce adverse reactions and improve the satisfaction of family members on the quality of nursing.
