Pemberdayaan UMKM Alat Permainan Edukatif Terdampak Pandemi di Wonorejo

The Community Partnership Program "Empowerment of UMKM Empowerment of Educational Game Tools Affected by a Pandemic in Wonorejo" aims to increase the competitiveness of fostered partners in facing a wider market. The first partner for this community service activity is UKM APE Otak-atik, this UKM has a segmentation in the general public as well as book and stationery shops located in the Wonorejo area, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java. The potential for developing APE products (Educative Game Tools) is still very wide open. Limited human resource capabilities, business networks, and limitations in the number and type of equipment prevent partners from taking advantage of existing opportunities. After the assistance is given, it is hoped that the partners will be able to become more resilient craftsmen. Partners can develop the design, production, market, and selling value of products, to increase family income, then absorb more labor from the surrounding community. This community service activity was carried out for eight months. Activities carried out in the form of; equipment grants for the use of production equipment with appropriate technology, management training, and online sales training. After getting a touch of good design, good management, modernization of production equipment, promotional media, and online sales, it is expected to be able to increase the competitiveness of partners in facing the free market.

Abstract: Purpose: To increase the knowledge and skills of partners in corn and cashew-based food processing and knowledge of distribution permits, improve the quality and selling value of products using Appropriate Technology, organize the organization and management of food processing, and assess the role of Village-Owned Enterprise (VOE) in community empowerment. Method: Solving partner problems are replacing manual equipment with appropriate technology, counseling, training, assistance in processing corn and cashews, improving organization and management, and assisting in managing distribution permits. The target of the activity is the partner farmer group of the food processing business unit of the Sillu Raya VOE. Results: Achieved were an increase in knowledge about the importance and management of distribution permits, more effective and efficient processed food production processes, mastery of appropriate technology, halal-certified and labeled products, improved structure and management of food processing business units, Sillu Raya VOE have not play an effective role in empowering the community's economy. The knowledge and skills of partners increase, partners master appropriate technology and the selling value of marning corn and various processed cashew nuts increases. Assistance will be by seeking food safety education with resource persons from the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency of East Nusa Tenggara as a condition of obtaining a distribution permit for market expansion. The processing of fishery products in an effort to increase the economic sector is carried out by the Kelompok Usaha Bersama (Kube) Jaya Abadi and the Usaha Peningkatan Pendapatan Keluarga (UP2K) Sawo located in Pengudang Village, Teluk Sebong Sub-district, Bintan District. One of the problems that occurred in the Kube Jaya Abadi and UP2K Sawo was the packaging and labeling of kerupuk atomthat needed repair. Through the Doktor Mengabdiprogram, the Doktor Mengabdi and Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematikat Universitas Brawijaya offer packaging and label redesignto increase selling value to become a superior product that can penetrate a wider market. Activities carried out include gathering information through interviews via telephone and text messages, SWOT and VIEW analysis of the informationsobtained, making the new logo of the Kube Jaya Abadi and UP2K Sawo, preparing information layouts on packaging and labels, making and preparing graphic assets, creating and visualizingpackaging design, polls and selection of packaging designs to be developed, making label designs based on selected packaging designs, printing packaging and labels, as well as training and counseling on packaging and product labels. The result of this activity is knowledge about increasing the selling value of products through packaging and labels, as well as assistance with various equipment along with printed packaging and labels

The Selection of Environmentally Friendly Wood for Raw Materials in the Creative Industries

The global economic crisis that hit the world turned out to cause a decline in exports. Therefore, in need of creative industries in raw materials production process and marketing. One of the creative efforts is the selection of wood raw materials for the industry is by using environmentally friendly wood species because it can reduce global warming. Still, the selling value of products in the export market is very high. The study design used a complete randomised design with an advanced Tukey test based on one factor, which is the types of wood that are Sengon, Waru Gunung, and Johar wood. The parameters observed are specific gravity, wood colour, adhesive strength, and formaldehyde emissions. The results showed that are Sengon, Waru Gunung, and Johar wood have different specific gravity, wood colour, and formaldehyde emissions. The average density of Sengon wood is 0.236, Waru Gunung wood is 0.570, and Johar wood is 0.654. The adhesive strength of Sengon wood 41.948 kg/cm2, Waru Gunung wood is 45.555 kg/cm2, and Johar wood 54.040 kg/cm2. Besides, the formaldehyde emissions for Sengon wood is 0.575 ppm (0.575 x10-3 ug/ml), Waru Gunung wood 0.462 ppm, and Johar wood 0.473 ppm. The higher the wood specific gravity, it will result in the wood colour and lower formaldehyde emissions. Wood with medium to high density (Waru Gunung and Johar) acknowledged as the environmentally friendly woods, and it can be used as raw material for creative industries.

Analysis of Supply Chain And Value Added of Soybean Commodity In Grobogan Regency

Soybean as one of national important food commodities has a central role in national food policy and the fulfillment of community nutrition. Indonesia is the largest soybean market in Asia by importing as much as 67.28% or 1.96 million tons of domestic soybean needs, while the remaining 32.72% is produced through domestic soybean production. The length of the supply chain from producers to consumers causes the selling value of products to fluctuate and tends to decrease. This study aims to analyze: (1) Supply chain performance and the factors influencing the marketing channel choice of soybeans in Grobogan Regency. (2) Activities that add value carried out in the soybean supply chain and the distribution of value added of these actors in Grobogan Regency. This research was conducted in Grobogan Regency, Central Java. Primary data were collected through interview techniques using a questionnaire. The types and number of respondents consisted of 100 soybean farmers, 10 collecting traders and 3 processing industries. Analysis of the description of the soybean supply chain is carried out using the FSCN process framework. Marketing efficiency is measured from marketing margins, farmer's share analysis, profit and cost ratio.The factors that determine the choice of farmers to the supply chain used, the quantitative approach to the multinomial logit regression model, and the added value analysis used is the Hayami method. Viewed from the marketing margin, farmer's share, also the profit and cost ratio, channel four is more efficient than other channels.There are several factors that influence the decision making of soybean farmers to sell soybeans. Some of the factors are the knowledge that the farmers have, number of sales (harvest) and selling prices. All secondary soy products produced will be able to increase the income of businesses, including soybean farmers

Expanding the distribution of product sales to souvenir outlets around Cianjur Regency is a challenge for business partners. Especially if the partner's products do not have selling value because they do not have a brand name, uninteresting packaging, and have no PIRT permit. Moreover, the limitation of the partner is in utilizing technology to support operations and marketing. In community development activity, we have the opportunity to assist partners to increase the attractiveness and selling value of products so that their products can be accepted at souvenir outlets around Ciputri and Cianjur Villages. In addition, we help partners to enhance thier capabilities in technical knowledge and use of technology for operational and promotion. The results of this activity are the product has a brand name and product labels, the creation of innovative, attractive, and nowadays packaging, obtaining PIRT certificates, and finally can sell and diplay the product in the famous souvenir outlets in Cianjur. Besides, increasing partner skills in the use of technology for purchasing production materials and marketing. After the community development activities and mentoring period are over, it is expected to provide benefits for partners to independently expand product distribution to souvenir shops around Cianjur so that they can increase sales and the economy of partner families. Besides, partners can independently use e-commerce and social media as a means of promotion and sales.

Economic Return on Training Investment at the Organization Level

This study examined labor-productivity returns from investments in training in a manufacturing industry. The study was conducted using data from auto parts manufacturing firms in Taiwan. Data included two labor-productivity dependent variables (sales per worker and value added per worker), and two training-investment independent variables (total training costs, and direct costs of training). The relationship between each independent and dependent variable was analyzed using multiple regressions that controlled for 14 other independent variables that might affect the relationship between investment in training and labor productivity. Results showed a significant relationship between investments in training and labor productivity as measured by value added per worker, but not total sales per worker. Value added per worker was defined as the dollar value of products sold, minus the cost of materials in those products, divided by the number of workers. This study provides evidence that investments in training do yield significant and practical increases in labor productivity at the organizational level.
