The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of teaching using instruction package and software booklet on kinetic and cognitive self-learning jump server in volleyball for the students of faculty of physical education at the University of Jordan, the experimental approach was used. Fifteen students (of advanced volleyball course) were divided into two groups, the first consisted of 7 students and used the instruction package learning while the other consisted of (8) and utilized the software booklet. The self-learning program was applied upon the two groups for 4 weeks (3 teaching units a week, 45 min each unit) given that each group kept on using its own teaching style. After data analysis, it was revealed that there were significant differences between the pre and post tests in each group (the group which used instruction package and the group which used the software booklet). When companying the two groups in the post test of kinetics self learning test it was revealed significant differences in favor of the group which used the instruction package while no significant differences were observed in the cognitive post test between the two groups. It was recommended to use the instruction package in teaching kinetic and cognitive skills self-learning in jump serve in volleyball for the students of faculty of physical education at the University of Jordan.
