Decision Support System Design To Determine The Feasibility of Students Staying In The Dormitory Using The Simple Additive Weighting Method

The research aims to analyze the feasibility of students staying in the dormitory using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. The process of admitting residents is currently done manually; therefore, a system is needed to facilitate dormitory management, supported by the SAW method as a systematic approach to identify and evaluate factors influencing the feasibility of staying in the dormitory. In the SAW method, criteria weights are assigned to each factor based on their importance according to the feasibility level determined by the dormitory management. Subsequently, calculations are performed using the SAW formula to obtain the final feasibility score for each student. Based on the test results, the developed system can facilitate and expedite the dormitory management in determining the selection process for students who wish to stay in the dormitory, as well as improve decision-making accuracy.

Perancangan Backend Pada Sistem Informasi Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru (PPDB) SMK Bina Mandiri Al Qodiriyah Srono

PPDB (Student Admission Selection) is one of the components of student management within an educational institution. PPDB, with all its systems, is carried out to understand and measure school inputs to assist in school development and is expected to make a significant contribution to planning and implementing educational and training activities in the future. The selection process for new students at SMK Bina Mandiri Al Qodiriyah is still conventional, using ledger records to manage prospective students. Therefore, an application is needed to facilitate and expedite the new student admission process at SMK Bina Mandiri Al Qodiriyah. This application is built using the Laravel 9 framework with PHP programming and MySQL database. The features of this application include online student registration. The educational SIM development method is Rapid Application Development (RAD).

Effectiveness of Machine Learning Models with Bayesian Optimization-Based Method to Identify Important Variables that Affect GPA

To produce superior human resources, the SPs-IPB Master Program must consider the factors influencing the GPA in the student selection process. The method that can be used to identify these factors is a machine learning algorithm. This paper applies the random forest and XGBoost algorithms to identify significant variables that affect GPA. In the evaluation process, the default model will be compared with the model resulting from Bayesian and random search optimization. Bayesian optimization is a method for optimizing hyperparameters that combines information from previous iterations to improve estimates. It is highly efficient in terms of computing time. Based on a balanced accuracy and sensitivity metrics average, Bayesian optimization produces a model superior to the default model and more time-efficient than random search optimization. XGBoost sensitivity metric is 25% better than random forest. However, random forest is 19% better in accuracy and 30% in specificity. Important variables are obtained from the information gain value when splitting the tree nodes formed. According to the best random forest and XGBoost model, variables that have the most influence on students' GPA are Undergraduate University Status (X8) and Undergraduate University (X6). Meanwhile, the variables with the smallest influence are Gender (X4) and Enrollment (X9).

PELATIHAN PENYUSUNAN CURRICULUM VITAE (CV) DAN PERSIAPAN WAWANCARA KERJA BAGI SISWA SMK

SMK PGRI 4 Blitar City is one of the private vocational high schools in Blitar. As a provider of vocational education, SMK PGRI 4 Blitar City hopes that its graduates will be immediately accepted, both in the business sectors and industrial sectors. Based on the initial observations, the number of students who know the importance of preparing job application documents and the job selection process well is still few, so it is necessary to effectuate training in CV arrangement and job interviews preparation for students at SMK PGRI 4 Blitar City. This activity was organized to provide knowledge about preparing job application documents and techniques for facing the job selection process for students, awareness that by understanding the method for preparing job application documents and deal with job selection, students will find it easier to get a job after graduating from school, as well as improving students' abilities in compiling job application documents, especially CVs and preparing for job interview. This activity was attended by 44 students of SMK PGRI IV Blitar City. It was carried out in two stages, namely counseling and training. The results of observations and filling out questionnaires by participants showed that overall, the implementation of the training activities had been successful.

Renewal of Islamic Education Management at Senior High Schools

This study examines the modernization of Islamic education management by Kiai at Senior High School Trensains Tebuireng, utilizing a qualitative case study approach. Methods of data collection include observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis employs reduction, presentation, and conclusion verification techniques. The findings reveal that updates to the Islamic boarding school's management by Kiai are systematic, incremental, open, and ongoing across various components. These updates include the unification of curricula, the adoption of a recruitment system based on competence and ethics, enhancements to student selection processes, the introduction of collaborative learning, the assurance of minimum government infrastructure standards, the expansion of fundraising avenues, and the establishment of bidirectional communication with the community. These reforms have positively influenced the school's reputation and the competence of its students.

Rought Set: Effective Method for Determining Scholarship Recipients

Every year, higher education institutions receive a KIP Tuition scholarship quota that has been determined by Ristek Dikti through LLDIKTI which is given during the new student admissions process. The process of determining recipients is carried out manually resulting in inaccurate scholarship recipients being selected and the selection results may not be the same based on those who participated in making the decision. This research is motivated by the need for an algorithm for determining prospective scholarship recipients that is appropriate and effective because the recipient selection process often takes a long time because many high school and equivalent students register so that they exceed the quota limit while the quota given is limited. This research aims to use a system for scholarship recipients and provide rules and knowledge, namely rough set Theory and adapted to the Rosetta application, using prospective student data during the selection process for new students who apply for the KIP Kuliah scholarship in the 2020/2021 academic year. The resulting decision is the KIP Opportunity which consists of 4 (four) attributes, including parents' income, housing status, dependents, and parental status. The results of this research using sample data from 12 people produced 6 (six) rules and knowledge of 26 rules. This research is very supportive in identifying the eligibility of KIP Kuliah recipients.

The Improvement of the Selection Mechanism of International Students Coming to China: Take Countries along the Belt and Road as an Example

As China's influence grows globally, particularly after the introduction of the Belt and Road Initiative in 2013, an increasing number of foreign students are choosing to pursue their higher education in China. Given this context, China is beginning to place an increasing emphasis on the quality control of its international student population. Thus, this essay examines China's current system of international student selection. The examination reveals that there are issues with China's system for selecting international students. Both the language assessment and the academic ability evaluation are devoid of professionalism and refinement, as well as consistent criteria. Additionally, the preliminary mechanism has not gained traction or been useful, and other complementing, alternative mechanisms are disregarded. This paper offers recommendations from three perspectives—the language evaluation mechanism, the academic assessment mechanism, and the alternative assessment mechanism—to encourage the enhancement of the selection process for foreign students entering China. In order to support both the internationalization of higher education and the Belt and Road initiative, the Chinese government and universities should raise the bar for selecting international students and implement policies that are appropriate for the current state of affairs and the challenges facing the countries that form the route.

Improving the Quality of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Through Transformational Leadership

Purpose: This research aims to explore more deeply the application of transformational leadership in Islamic education and its role in improving educational standards and school performance, as well as realizing the importance of leadership in utilizing the potential of school resources. Methods: This research uses descriptive research methods with a qualitative approach. This is because researchers carry out direct observations in the field to observe and provide an accurate picture of the reality that occurs in the field. Results: The research results show that madrasa heads bear the responsibility of supervising all aspects of educational activities, starting from managing teachers and students, developing curriculum and programs to building relationships with parents and the community. By using a three-stage strategy that includes input, process, and output, this research shows that there is a strict selection process for students and teachers who enter the input stage, while remaining focused on optimizing the learning process to produce quality educational results. These strategies are intricately designed to complement and strengthen each other, fostering an inclusive and conducive educational environment. Conclusion: These findings underscore the positive impact of transformational leadership on the overall educational landscape at MI Wali Songo Asy-Syirbaany, South Tangerang City, where madrasa heads, through inclusive and astute leadership, prioritize improving the quality of education. Therefore, this research explains the important role of transformational leadership in raising educational standards and improving school performance, and offers valuable insights for improving the quality of education in similar settings.

Application of Academic Potential Test for New Student Admission Using Fisher-Yates Shuffle Algorithm

The selection process of new students in educational institutions, such as in Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) Wisata Indonesia which still uses conventional methods using paper, has several challenges. One of the main challenges is test cheating, where prospective students may try to manipulate their test results to increase their chances of being accepted. In addition, another challenge faced by SMK Wisata Indonesia is that when the number of prospective students who register is very large, managing answers and exam results can become more complicated. This research aims to design and build an Android-based Academic Potential Test application by applying the Fisher-Yates Shuffle algorithm to randomize the order of questions. This research also uses the RUP (rational Unified Process) system development technique which has several phases, namely the Inception phase, Elaboration phase, Construction phase and Transition phase. The validation testing carried out obtained overall valid results so that the application that has been designed is in accordance with user needs. Meanwhile, usability testing in the Academic Potential Test Application using the SEQ method resulted in an average Likert score for students of 6.63 with a user-friendliness percentage of around 94%. As for teachers, the Likert average score is 6.53 with a percentage of ease of use of around 93%. This shows that the Academic Potential Test Application that has been built is EASY TO USE

Design Of A Decision Support System For The Graduation Of New Student Candidates Based On MVC

The selection process for new students in the field of education is crucial and warrants careful consideration. IT Telkom Purwokerto has a dedicated division, the Admission Unit, responsible for the selection of new students. However, this process often encounters errors, such as miscalculations in the average scores of three subjects, discrepancies between new student data and graduation guideline data, and prolonged simulation processes for graduation. This study proposes a solution to these issues through the implementation of an MVC-based Decision Support System (DSS) for determining the eligibility of new student admissions. The Prototype methodology was chosen to develop an MVC-based system as a resolution to these issues. The criteria used in this research to determine new student admissions involve various factors, including the chosen high school major, interest in the offered majors, average mathematics scores, and the average scores of three main subjects: mathematics, Bahasa Indonesia, and English. The outcomes of this research include the development of an MVC-based decision support system that aims to determine the admission status of new students. It is anticipated that the implementation of this decision support system based MVC will not only aid relevant personnel in the admission decision process but also mitigate potential issues that may arise. The research contributes to the enhancement of the efficiency and accuracy of the new student selection process at IT Telkom Purwokerto.

LITERACY OF GUINEAN STUDENTS IN RELATION TO OPINION WRITING BEFORE STARTING UNILAB

This work investigates the experience of five Guinean students about opinion writing before starting the University of International Integration of Afro-Brazilian Lusofonia (UNILAB), this type of writing is requested in admission exam for the selection process for foreign students at UNILAB. Methodologically, the research is a case study with qualitative analysis. Two instruments were used for the initial data collection procedure: the interview and the writing of an opinion article. However, for this text, only the interview part was explored, the answer to two interview questions about the target audience’s knowledge and mastery of writing opinion articles before their arrival at UNILAB. The form of analysis was based on the thematic analysis founded by Minayo (2007). As a result, it is concluded that students have little mastery of producing opinionated genres, before arriving in Brazil, because writing practice is not recurrent during their secondary education in Guinea-Bissau.

O-HEALTH-EDU: A viewpoint into the current state of Oral Health Professional education in Europe: Part 1: Programme-level data.

Current legislation leaves Oral Health Professional (OHP) education open to wide interpretation and may result in significant variation in educational practice and resultant professional attributes across Europe. Data regarding the current state of OHP education across Europe is limited. The aim of Part 1 of this series is to provide programme-level data for Primary Dental Degree Programmes, Dental Hygiene and Postgraduate Education. A 91-item questionnaire was developed following the Delphi method. The questionnaire and the Articulate glossary of OHP education terms were developed concurrently to facilitate a common understanding of language. Piloting was performed in multiple stages and included institutions internal and external to the research group. The questionnaire was uploaded online and converted to a data hub, allowing dental schools to control their own data and update the data provided whenever they wish. All ADEE member schools (n = 144) were invited to provide data. Forty questions relating to school details, Primary Dental Degree Programmes, Dental Hygiene and Postgraduate Education were included in this part of the series. Seventy-one institutions from 25 European countries provided data between June 2021 and April 2023, which represents a response rate of 49.3% of ADEE members. Programme-level data for Primary Dental Degree Programmes, Dental Hygiene and Postgraduate Education is presented including programme length, funding, languages and fees, student numbers and demographics, student admission and selection processes and permission to practice after graduation. This series of papers, as far as the authors are aware, are the first attempts to build a comprehensive picture of the current state of OHP education in Europe. A comprehensive view of the state of OHP education in Europe is not yet available but the O-Health-Edu data hub provides a means for all education providers in Europe to contribute data to reach this goal. It is anticipated that the data hub will be updated and built upon over time to continually establish a clearer picture of the state of OHP education in Europe.

The Analysis of Students’ Achievement on Listening Skill Based on Introvert Personality

This research aims to determine the listening skill on students introvert personality. This research was conducted in class XI IPA 1 MAN 1 Deli Serdang by conducting student personality selection by giving questionnaire to find students with introvert personality. Listening test was given after the student personality selection process is done by presenting 3 videos tests that had difference titles and stories in each test. This type of research was a qualitative descriptive research, where the research was observed as a data collection process then describe and interpret the result of the data had been collected in the form of an explanation. Data was obtained from the selection process of the students personality type with questionnaire found that there are only 15% of students who had introverted personality. The listening test result show that students introvert personality had good listening skill with an average score of 90 and the highest was 95.

This research uses a qualitative approach with a qualitative descriptive orientation. Data collection techniques that are in accordance with the focus and objectives of the study, then carried out using three techniques, namely observation, interview (interview) and documentation. The management of student development used by researchers is the mechanism for accepting students, the selection process and orientation activities for new students, coaching students at SMA Plus Assalaam.

The focus of this research is to uncover the implementation of online student registration management at SMA Negeri 1 Kedamean when applying the online PPDB system. This study adopts a qualitative method with the aim of gaining a comprehensive understanding of the data encountered or discovered by the researcher. The research findings reveal that in assessing the qualifications of potential new students at SMA Negeri 1 Kedamean, a student database is created and managed to facilitate the selection and admission process of students at SMA Negeri 1 Kedamean. The school's policy involves data analysis, using technology to analyze admission data such as student profiles, school preferences, and demographic data to improve the selection process. Based on technical guidance from the provincial government governing the implementation of online PPDB at SMA Negeri 1 Kedamean, it is decided that the implementation of online PPDB will take place in a meeting room selected as the venue for the online PPDB. The Online PPDB Body and Budget are sourced from the school's BOS fund, and in the New Student Admission System for the Online PPDB Academic Year 2023/2024, there are four pathways: Affirmation, Achievement, Special Selection, and Academic Path in the ongoing Online PPDB. Direct connections to the databases of the Social and Educational Services of the Ministry of Religion and KONI prevent fraud during the implementation of the Online PPDB. The process of admitting new students through online PPDB is now more transparent, making it easier for students and organizers to verify actual data and facilitating the accountability of the organizers because all data is created using this system.

One of the goals of the Indonesian State as stated in the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia is to make the nation's life more intelligent. The government, through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), is implementing a 12-year compulsory education program. The Indonesia Smart College Card program will start to be implemented in 2021, where initially this program was called bidikmisi. The Indonesia Smart College Card program is intended to help children who experience economic difficulties or are constrained by the costs of continuing their education at tertiary level. Beneficiaries of the Indonesian Smart College Card program will receive full tuition fees from the start of admission to completion of the course within the agreed time period. This aims to ensure that children who have been selected to become students no longer have to worry or feel afraid about their survival when studying. Placing limits on the number of recipients of the Indonesia Smart Tuition Card for Private Universities (PTS) is a problem that must be resolved properly and carefully. The selection process for prospective students who register at the target university aims to find recipients who are worthy of assistance from the Indonesia Smart College Card program. Experiences of low-income college students in selection of health insurance, access, and quality of care

Objective To understand the experiences and perspectives of low-income University of California undergraduates related to their health insurance options, access to and quality of care. Participants 14 undergraduate students across five UC campuses who identified as socioeconomically disadvantaged or low-income. Methods We conducted 4 focus groups organized by type of insurance coverage in April 2022. Results (1) the insurance selection process for low-income students is complicated by multiple, sometimes competing factors; (2) the lack of clear information confuses students’ selection of insurance and health care options; and (3) students experiences challenges in access and quality of care, irrespective of insurance type. Conclusions Ensuring access to high quality care, information and coverage is critical to the university mission to support a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment, for a student body that reflects the needs of the population of California.

After liberation, the Korean health care system changed under the influence of the United States. This study focuses on health students studying abroad during the U.S. Army Military Government period as a starting point for changes in Korean health care. By focusing on the process and educational content of sending international students, we will examine the differences in the positions of institutions involved in sending international students and the content of American public health knowledge received through studying abroad.
 The first and second Rockefeller Foundation international students studied public health and other detailed technologies in the United States and conducted field trips. The concept of public health accepted in the United States was premised on responsibility for the community and could become the basis for the role of health care administration during the nation-building period. By cultivating expertise in specific majors, including public health administration, international students were able to play a central role in Korea’s health care administration.
 Through the second student dispatch process, we were able to examine the differences in judgments and positions between the US military government, including Korean medical education group, and the Rockefeller Foundation regarding the tasks that should be focused on in Korea. While the US military government emphasized the improvement of Korean medical education during the selection process for international students, the Rockefeller Foundation sought to select those who would focus on improving Korea's ‘public health’. This could later be reflected in the development of Korean medical education, which focused on the development of medical fields other than public health. In addition, the fact that the positions of the US military government and the Rockefeller Foundation were not the same regarding the dispatch of international students suggested that the ‘Americanization’ of health care needed to be reviewed by specific sector and period.

Process Mining on New Student Admission Process in Telkom University using Genetic Miner

The selection process for new students at Telkom University, also known as SMB Telkom University has been running for years and already has its process flow. However, the existing process flow can be further improved to better reflect the actual field processes and become more accurate. Process mining can enhance this process flow by creating a new process flow based on event logs or previously executed processes. One of the algorithms in process mining is genetic process mining, where process mining is performed multiple times over several generations and genetic algorithms such as crossover and mutation are applied to generate a more accurate process model compared to other process mining algorithms such as heuristic and inductive mining. After conducting experiments, the best process model that was produced was at the 100th generation which has a fitness point of 0.755910819 and precision point of 0.742857143, after examining the parameters and the resulting Petri net or process flow that was produced it was concluded that the process model obtained from the application of Genetic Process Mining to SMB Telkom University is not very good because the resulting Petri net has several duplicate activities and appears to be non-linear. This could be due to several factors i.e., incompatible, or inaccurate data.
