PENDAMPINGAN DIGITALISASI SEKOLAH SMPIT AJIMUTU GLOBAL INSANI TAMBUN UTARA-BEKASI MENUJU MANAJEMEN SEKOLAH BERBASIS DIGITAL

In the digital era, the application of information technology in schools is crucial to enhance the efficiency and quality of educational management. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to assist Sekolah Menengah Pertama Islam Terpadu (SMPIT) Ajimutu Global Insani Tambun Utara-Bekasi in implementing digital-based school management. The main objective of this activity is to optimize the school's management system through a tailored application that meets the school's needs, called DigiMS (Digital School Management). DigiMS will be built web-based which will be hosted and use a domain name, and a mobile-based application will be created which will be submitted to the Playstore. The method used includes stages of analyzing the existing school management system, developing the DigiMS application, providing training for staff and teachers on how to use the application, and monitoring and evaluating the application's implementation. Data was collected through direct observations at the partner school, interviews with staff, and efficiency measurements before and after the implementation of the digital system. The results of this activity showed a significant increase in operational efficiency, especially in student data management, financial administration, and internal and external communication. The main conclusion from this program is that adopting digital-based management through DigiMS can improve the effectiveness of school management and ease staff workloads in their daily tasks. Additionally, this program has a positive impact on the school's readiness to face the challenges of the digital era. This program is part of the 2024 Fiscal Year PKM Grant from Kemdikbudristek-DRTPM, conducted by lecturers and students from Universitas Nusa Mandiri.

EFFECTIVENESS OF THE USE OF THE K-MOB MOBILE ATTENDANCE APPLICATION AMONG TEACHERS AT SMAN 8 GARUT

Since 2020, Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri (SMAN) 8 Garut has implemented an online teacher attendance system through a mobile attendance application known as K-Mob. However, in practice, over the past three years, the K-Mob application has not been effective. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of using the K-Mob application for teacher attendance at SMAN 8 Garut. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out by interpreting data, tables, and images to draw conclusions. This study utilizes Tangkilisan's (2005) effectiveness theory as the analytical framework, which outlines that effectiveness comprises four aspects: target achievement, adaptability, job satisfaction, and responsibility. The results of the study concluded that the use of the K-Mob application at SMAN 8 Garut has not been effective.

Faktor Ekstralinguistik Terhadap Penguasaan Kemahiran Lisan didalam Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab

Various reforms and updates in teaching and learning have been carried out by the Ministry of education, but the mastery of oral skills among students is still not encouraging. The average study conducted found that the mastery of the Arabic language (BA) in Malaysia is still not able to achieve real goals and objectives. One of the factors affecting language skills is extralinguistics. Extralinguistics refers to linguistic situations outside the linguistic environment, such as motivation, emotion, attitude, personality, and the like, that are proven to help a student master a particular language. Therefore, this study identifies extralinguistic factors on BA Communication among Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia students in Perak. This study was conducted quantitatively at Sekolah Menengah Agama Negeri (SMAN) which offers learning to sit for the Sijil Tinggi Agama (STAM) examination in the state of Perak. Results indicated that there are five extralinguistic factors on BA Communication, namely attitude, motivation, Arabic exposure, use of BA, Communication problems and teacher encouragement. It can be concluded that there is a strong relationship between attitude factors and the use of SK among students of STAM Perak. This study implies the importance of providing a conducive and supportive learning environment to improve Arabic communication skills among STAM students. Further studies are proposed to examine in depth the factors related to the use of technology in Arabic language learning and the impact on the communication strategies of STAM students.

LEVEL OF PHYSICAL FITNESS AMONG SCHOOL ADOLESCENT AT SMK TELUK BAHANG, PENANG, MALAYSIA

Background: Establishing a solid foundation of health during adolescent is vital for promoting long-term overall well-being. However, technological advancements have revolutionized human behavior and social dynamics across all age groups, but particularly in adolescent, where prolonged exposure to digital platforms has led to sedentary behavior. This shift has been associated with rising rates of obesity and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like diabetes and hypertension. Recognizing the importance of physical fitness is necessary for screening health risks among adolescents, therefore, this study aimed to assess the physical fitness levels of school adolescent at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Teluk Bahang, Penang, Malaysia. Method: Each participant performed three physical fitness tests; (1) push-up test, (2) beep test, and (3) sit-and-reach test. The push-up test was used to measure upper body strength and endurance, the beep test was used to estimate aerobic fitness, and sit and reach test was used to measure flexibility of hamstring muscles. The results were then analyzed based on normative values of each test using IBM SPSS Statistic version 29.0. Results: 61 school adolescents completed the entire tests. When compared to normative values for push-up test (20.25 ± 13.2 rep in male and 10.49 ± 7.3 rep in female), beep test (27.75 ± 5.5 ml.kg-1.min-1 in males and 23.0 ± 3.6 ml.kg-1.min-1 in females), and the sit-and-reach test (21.28 ± 9.2 cm in males and 20.4 ± 7.5 cm in females), all of them were under average. Conclusion: The level of physical fitness among school adolescents at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Teluk Bahang, Penang, Malaysia is somewhat below average.

COGNITIVE ASSESSMENT: INTEGRATED GEOGRAPHY AND SIRAH ELEMENTS THROUGH GEOSIRAH LEARNING TOOL

Sirah provides a significant history and chronology of a specific narrative, which requires accurate comprehension and retention through the study of details such as dates, locations, and events. However, most students expressed an apathetic disposition and were prone to boredom when required to comprehend Sirah history through extended reading. The purpose of this study is to determine the understanding level of secondary school students in the Sirah subject, which incorporates geography elements through a GeoSirah learning tool version 2. By employing a quantitative method, a questionnaire form was distributed among 31 respondents from Sekolah Menengah Agama Nurul Islam, Kedah, and the cognitive improvement (knowledge (C1) and comprehension (C2) was assessed through the implementation of the pre-test and post-test methods. The data was analysed using descriptive analysis and a paired-sample t-test approach using SPSS software. The pre-test and post-test results demonstrated a positive impact, with a significant increase in the mean rate of 23.44%. This study concludes that the integration of geographical elements into Sirah learning through GeoSirah aid improves students' cognitive knowledge and comprehension of Sirah subjects, thereby enhancing their interest and enjoyment in the subject matter.

TAHAP PENGETAHUAN PENDIDIKAN AKIDAH: SATU KAJIAN DALAM KALANGAN PELAJAR SEKOLAH MENENGAH DAERAH KLUANG

Faith is a strong bond of belief and trust between the creature and the Creator. The purpose of this study is to study the elements of faith education that can build students' self. The knowledge of students' beliefs in this study is related to the elements of their learning at school and is linked to the self-development of students at school. The questionnaire instrument was built through a process of adaptation from previous studies and data analysis was done using descriptive statistical analysis using mean and standard deviation using SPSS software. This survey was conducted online in 15 secondary schools in Kluang District and involved a total of 352 students. The findings of the study found that the element of faith education in students is at a very high level with a mean score of 4.84. The results of this study are expected to provide useful input and be a source of inspiration for Islamic education teachers so that they can use more of the latest technology in the teaching and learning process for religious subjects.

RECYCLING DOMESTIC COOKING OIL (DCO) INTO SOAP: KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER THROUGH COMMUNITY SERVICE LEARNING IN PERLIS

Malaysia generates a significant amount of waste from domestic cooking oil (DCO), which can be used as a raw material for soap production. This study examines the functionality of soap made from household cooking oil in Perlis, Malaysia. The community project provides awareness, exposure, and training to 30 participants of Sekolah Menengah Sains Syed Putra, Kangar to recycle used DCO into soap production at their homes or business premises. The approach includes identifying communities and training locations, developing training modules, preparing teaching and demonstration workshops, interactive training, monitoring, and impact studies. Soap optimizations are carried out in the lab to suit the community's knowledge background and at-home facilities. The aims of this study are to examine and create organic soap using a combination of leftover household cooking oil, decorative plants, medicinal plants, and food plants. An operating temperature of 60℃ and a moisture content of 4% are the optimal conditions for degumming. The optimal decolorizing agent is activated kaolinite clay, DCO, with a ratio of 100:5 of activated clay to DCO, at a temperature of 60℃ for a treatment time of 30 minutes. The most efficient technique for saponification involves using a mass ratio of 0.3:1 between sodium bicarbonates and DCO, and maintaining a saponification temperature of 70℃. The end products consist of two distinct varieties of soaps that have the potential to produce revenue for the local community.

Colour Reading Speech Kit (Tubana Kit) as a Therapy Tool for Students with Special Needs at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seremban 2, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan

The Color Reading Speech Kit (Tubana Kit) is provided to improve the skills of listening, speaking, reading, observation, concentration, and interest and reduce the stress of students in special education schools. This kit consists of two items, namely activities for tongue twister training in the form of software and English and Malay activities and coloring books. This study was conducted through collaboration with the Mobile Book Café as the industry collaborator and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seremban 2, as the community collaborator. The respondents comprised 14 special needs students, i.e. 7 students from the Malay Language class and 7 students from the English Language Class. Despite having learning disabilities, these special needs students are still able to read and write. All the students in the Malay Language and English class have profited from the Tubana Kit's knowledge transfer, according to the results obtained after utilizing it. The pupil now speaks and behaves better, with better pronunciation. Their vocabulary and articulation in both Malay and English are also on par. The use of coloring books and activities in both Malay and English has improved vocabulary usage among students who typically have low vocabulary. Indeed, SMK Seremban 2 children with special needs have demonstrated the effectiveness of the Tubana Kit as a therapy tool in both Malay and English languages.

Enhancing supervision efficiency and satisfaction: Evaluating the impact of the e-monprakerin model on vocational high school apprenticeship monitoring

This study presents a novel approach to addressing the challenges brought about by Industry 4.0 in vocational education, particularly within the context of Indonesia's evolving industrial landscape. With industries increasingly embracing digitalization and automation, traditional apprenticeship supervision methods have struggled to keep pace. In response, this research introduces the e-monPrakerin model, an electronic-based supervision system tailored for vocational high schools (Bahasa: Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan/SMK). Through rigorous evaluation employing a randomized control group pretest-posttest design, the study demonstrates the effectiveness of the e-monPrakerin model compared to conventional methods. Results reveal significant improvements in practicality and user satisfaction, with practicability scores soaring from 41.1% to 81.3% and user satisfaction scores escalating from 31.6% to 84.4% post-implementation. These outcomes underscore the e-monPrakerin model's ability to optimize apprenticeship monitoring, offering a cost-effective, user-friendly, and efficient solution for navigating the complexities of Industry 4.0. By leveraging information technology to bridge the gap between vocational education and industry demands, this research sheds light on the practical implications of digital monitoring solutions. Ultimately, the e-monPrakerin model represents a substantial advancement in vocational education, showcasing the efficacy of technology-driven approaches in enhancing monitoring efficiency and user satisfaction. This contribution adds valuable insights to the field, benefiting educators, policymakers, and stakeholders alike in their efforts to equip the workforce with the skills necessary to thrive in the era of Industry 4.0.

Comparing labor market performance of vocational and general school graduates in Indonesia: insights from stable and crisis conditions

This study seeks to investigate the association between distinct tracks of secondary education—namely, vocational school (Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan, SMK) and general school (Sekolah Menengah Atas, SMA)—and two key labor market outcomes: the duration required for graduates to attain their initial employment and their resilience in the face of pandemic, as measured by changes in average monthly income. While the former sheds light on the outcome under typical circumstances, the latter offers valuable insights into the outcome during periods of crisis. Focused on Indonesia, this research employs Heckman two-step model alongside ordinary least square (OLS) for the first outcome and ordered probit regression for the second. The research draws upon data extracted from the 2021 National Labor Force Survey (Survey Angkatan Kerja Nasional, SAKERNAS). Our results suggest that SMK provides an advantage in securing initial employment compared to SMA, with SMK graduates entering the workforce earlier than their counterparts. Moreover, in terms of resilience during the pandemic, as evidenced by changes in income, SMK graduates exhibit greater resilience, with a higher likelihood of maintaining or even increasing their income compared to SMA graduates. These findings offer valuable implications for both theoretical understanding and practical considerations.

Teaching English to Students with Developmental Disabilities: A Study on A School for Disabilities Students in East Lombok

This study aimed to investigate the teachers’ problems in teaching English to students with developmental disabilities and the factors that cause the problem to arise. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this study were 2 teachers on a school for disabilities students, one teacher was from SMPLB (Sekolah Menengah Pertama Luar Biasa) and one Teacher was from SMALB (Sekolah Menengah Atas Luar Biasa). The data was collected through interviews and observations. The research findings showed that the teachers had problems in teaching English to students with developmental disabilities such as difficulty in find appropriate teaching approach strategies, difficulty in applied sign language, difficulty in explain themselves in English especially orally, and difficulty in managing students. Several factors caused the problems, such as the teachers lack of expertise in teaching English, teachers’ lack skill in classroom management, teachers lack in mastery subject, and teachers lack of skill in general communication with students

Application of Academic Potential Test for New Student Admission Using Fisher-Yates Shuffle Algorithm

The selection process of new students in educational institutions, such as in Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) Wisata Indonesia which still uses conventional methods using paper, has several challenges. One of the main challenges is test cheating, where prospective students may try to manipulate their test results to increase their chances of being accepted. In addition, another challenge faced by SMK Wisata Indonesia is that when the number of prospective students who register is very large, managing answers and exam results can become more complicated. This research aims to design and build an Android-based Academic Potential Test application by applying the Fisher-Yates Shuffle algorithm to randomize the order of questions. This research also uses the RUP (rational Unified Process) system development technique which has several phases, namely the Inception phase, Elaboration phase, Construction phase and Transition phase. The validation testing carried out obtained overall valid results so that the application that has been designed is in accordance with user needs. Meanwhile, usability testing in the Academic Potential Test Application using the SEQ method resulted in an average Likert score for students of 6.63 with a user-friendliness percentage of around 94%. As for teachers, the Likert average score is 6.53 with a percentage of ease of use of around 93%. This shows that the Academic Potential Test Application that has been built is EASY TO USE

THE INTERSECTION OF TECHNOLOGY AND EDUCATION: DEVELOPMENT OF DIGITAL GAMING FOR ENHANCED ADDITIONAL MATHEMATICS

In recent years, Education 4.0 has brought about a revolution in the field of education. By innovative teaching methods, such as gamification and game-based learning, the learning experience has been taken to a whole new level. Among these methods, gamification has emerged as an up-and-coming technique for enhancing students' engagement and motivation in various subject areas. Gamification involves incorporating game-like elements, such as point systems, rewards, and challenges, into the learning process. By leveraging the principles of game design, educators can create engaging and immersive learning experiences that help students develop a deeper understanding of the subject matter and ultimately succeed in their studies. However, implementing the gamification method effectively and efficiently for specific subjects requires careful consideration and exploration, especially in the subject of Additional Mathematics. This subject has long been acknowledged as one of the most challenging subjects in Kurikulum Standard Sekolah Menengah (KSSM). Students must devote significant time and effort to mastering the subject matter. Therefore, this research focuses on developing an educational game that leverages the Scratch platform to enhance students' learning experience. Specifically, the game will focus on Functions, a crucial topic in Additional Mathematics. The research design involves two main stages. The first stage involves creating comprehensive notes and designing multilevel questions based on credible sources. In the second stage, an immersive learning game will be developed using the Scratch platform using the features in Scratch. The findings of this research indicate that the combination of gamification, detailed note-taking, and a variety of games is an effective tool in connecting the gap between conventional teaching methods and contemporary learning preferences. This innovative approach can transform the traditional education system by making learning more engaging and effective for students of all ages.

MENEROKA ISU DAN CABARAN MENGINTEGRASIKAN MATLAMAT PEMBANGUNAN MAMPAN (SDGs) DALAM KURIKULUM PERTANIAN DI SEKOLAH MENENGAH KEBANGSAAN (SMK) MALAYSIA

This article discusses the issues and challenges of integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the agricultural curriculum at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Malaysia. Integrating the SDGs into the agricultural curriculum in Malaysia provides opportunities for students to develop an understanding of pressing global issues, foster a sense of responsibility towards the environment and promote the development of students as responsible individuals in contributing to the achievement of the SDGs. This study uses a qualitative design involving semi-structured interview methods to explore issues and challenges in integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the agricultural curriculum in Malaysia. The type of sampling used in this study is purposive snowball sampling of 5 agriculture teachers at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Malaysia. Then, the research data was analyzed using thematic analysis. The results of this study show that the issues and challenges to integrating the SDGs in the agricultural curriculum in Malaysia are the concentration of existing curriculum content that focuses on the traditional curriculum, the limited awareness and understanding of agricultural teachers towards the SDGs and the absence of basic guidelines to apply Education for Sustainable Development (PPM). in the agricultural curriculum in Malaysia. The results of this study are expected to help agriculture teachers, agricultural curriculum developers, the Malaysian Ministry of Education (KPM) and agricultural education research organizations to find out about the issues that hinder the integration of Sustainable Development elements in the agricultural curriculum in Malaysian National Secondary Schools (SMK).

Improving Students’ Speaking Skill through Play-Based Learning

Based on the syllabus on 4.8, 10-year students at Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) Maniamas Ngabang must be able to present short and simple narrative texts related to folk legends. This research aims to improve students’ speaking skills through play-based learning. This research was a classroom action research. The procedures of this research covered planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The subjects of this research were 28 students of class X of SMK Maniamas Ngabang. The data were collected by observation checklist, field notes, speaking test, questionnaire, and interview sheet. The data obtained from the process of data collection were analyzed by reflecting on the facts or information gathered to assess the improvement of students' speaking. After collecting the data, the next step was analyzed the data. The data classified based on the research. In this study, the analysis used qualitative and quantitative analysis. This research showed play-based learning was able to improve students’ speaking skills. The students were more engaged in learning when the lesson presented involved games, and they also put more concerned about their assignments, attendance, and activities during the learning process. They stated that it became easier to understand the lesson because they can directly practice it the game application in the learning process. Last, the questionnaire result showed the students strongly agreed that play-based learning was a good method for learning to speak, with a mean value 4.54. In conclusion, the use of play-based learning can improve students’ speaking skill.

Missmatch Industri Dan SMK: Fenomena SMK Penyumbang Angka Pengangguran Tinggi

Vocational High Schools (SMK - Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan) have become the largest contributor to unemployment figures, contrary to their intended purpose of preparing graduates for the workforce. This issue is attributed to a mismatch between the needs of the industry and the education provided by vocational schools. The aim of this research is to identify steps that should be taken to reduce the industry-school mismatch. The method employed involves biometric analysis using Vos Viewer, with data sourced from Google Scholar, including scientific articles in journals and in English. The results and findings of this research indicate that the mismatch is caused by a lack of synchronization between industrial advancements and the curriculum in vocational schools, students' lack of preparedness for the job market, and various supporting skills. This study suggests further investigation into industry-school mismatches based on specific fields of expertise in each vocational school. Consequently, in the future, vocational schools should no longer be the leading contributor to unemployment but rather contribute to the workforce in various fields within industries, aligning with the demands of the respective industries.

Work Readiness of Competencies Machining Engineering’s Student

Objective: Vocational High School or Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (VHS) is one of the levels of education in Indonesia. VHS provides various skills programs. VHS graduates should have more significant opportunities to work based on their competencies, but the most dominant unemployed were VHS graduates in East Java, Indonesia. VHS’s students must have work readiness and vocational competencies to reduce unemployment. The mechanical Engineering program encourages students to operate machines and produce goods. Machine CNC is one of the manufacturing industries. The research aims to analyze the influence of problem-solving, technology, teamwork, and self-management skills on the work readiness of VHS students in the Mechanical Engineering program. Method: This research used quantitative methods with a causality approach. The population was students of the Mechanical Engineering program in East Java Province in Indonesia. The random sampling technique was used with 377 respondents. Analysis data used SEM. Results: Problem-solving skills were 36.7% influenced by technology, teamwork, and self-management. Work readiness was 54.6% influenced by problem-solving skills. Novelty: The significant positive influence of problem-solving skills, technology skills, teamwork skills, and self-management skills on the work readiness of students at Machining Engineering Vocational High School in East Java simultaneously.

The Effect of Virtual Reality Learning Media on Student Social Studies Learning Outcomes in Junior High Schools

Digital transformation in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era demands learning activities that reduce the application of the lecture method and influences learning methods as well as the media used. Virtual reality technology permits students to be acquainted with live learning with objects seen directly. This study aims to determine the efficacy of virtual reality learning media in upgrading student learning outcomes in social studies classes. The population group was composed of 72 class VII students of Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 30 Jakarta. This study uses experimental research techniques using experimental class and control class with pre-test and post-test. In this study, data analysis was carried out using inferential analysis using the t-test. According to the findings, the use of virtual reality learning media has a positive impact on student learning outcomes. Students can use immersive virtual reality to achieve better learning outcomes. Students are also more interested in learning and effortlessly understand and discover new knowledge and experiences. In addition, students find it more enjoyable to learn using virtual reality learning materials, which is virtual reality.

Evaluation of student perspectives and awareness regarding Kenyir Geopark

Kenyir Geopark, a National Geopark, showcases Malaysia’s diverse geology, rich biodiversity, and significant cultural heritage. This study surveyed public awareness of Kenyir Geopark, focusing on students to ensure the younger generation understands natural heritage. A questionnaire, developed and pilot-tested for clarity, included questions on demographics, awareness, information sources, extracurricular interest, and Earth science enjoyment. The survey was distributed at the “Program Jom Kenali Kenyir Geopark” at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jenagor, a partner school of Kenyir Geopark. Participants had 20 minutes to complete it, and data were analyzed statistically. The survey revealed that while 64.1% of students recognized Kenyir Geopark, only 11% frequently visited natural parks. Although they valued conservation, notable gaps in awareness and interest in earth sciences were identified. This highlights the need for improved educational programs to enhance student engagement and understanding of geopark activities. The proposed educational framework for Kenyir Geopark, which focuses on contextual learning, interactive tools, and collaborative teaching, cultivates a strong sense of ownership and responsibility among young people. Through immersive, hands-on experiences, this approach empowers them to actively participate in preserving and sustainably developing the park. By strengthening the connection between young people and Kenyir Geopark, these initiatives can promote long-term sustainability and community involvement in preserving this unique geological and cultural landscape.
