IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SCRUM MODEL IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF ONLINE SALES SYSTEMS OF MSMEs DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

A global pandemic or epidemic indicates a covid-19 infection that is very fast spreading throughout the world, including Indonesia. This has an impact on several sectors, one of which is the economic sector. There are various things that have caused the economic sector to be touched by the impact of the covid-19 virus, including government policies at both the central and regional levels that issued several regulations relating to restrictions on community mobility. Indirectly, things related to mobility restrictions or what is currently known as Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar (PSBB) have an impact on consumer behavior to switch to making purchases online. To address this, the online sales system is considered to be a solution for MSMEs to continue the buying and selling process. Using the Scrum model as a more efficient system development, feedback between users and developers who can work better to create a more interactive system. The results of this study are a website that can be used by UMKM as a means of selling their business products amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Aplikasi Absensi Karyawan Berbasis Android Dengan Penerapan QR Code Disertai Foto Diri Dan Lokasi Sebagai Validasi Studi Kasus: PT.Selindo Alpha

One of the main components in the world of work is attendance or attendance lists. With this attendance, work in a company can run in a structured and organized manner. Along with high mobility, the use of smartphones is now also used to support work activities, one of which is to do attendance. However, not many companies have used this technology in their companies. This research aims to build an automated employee attendance system based on android by using a QR code accompanied by a photo of yourself and an online LBS (Location Based System). In this application, it allows users to fill in attendance easily and can be used at any time, so that employees who have limited time and do not have time to fill out the attendance list form can easily fill out the attendance list. This application was developed by applying the agile scrum model and designed using UML and Java-based programming language and for the testing process using black box testing. The research was conducted by collecting data through literature study. This research produces applications that have been tested in terms of usability and are declared valid or according to user needs

“Scrumbear” framework for solving traditional scrum model problems

Software engineering is a discipline that is little understood by people. It defines how software is developed and maintained to meet the clients’ requirements. Software engineers follow certain systems and standards in their work to meet the clients’ desires. It is on this background that engineers follow specific models in coming up with the final product. One of the models highly used is scrum, which is one of the agile methodologies. However, despite being highly used, it has inherent flaws that need to be corrected. Those flaws are product owner continues changing; do not accept changes in working scrum, sprint’s release time limitation, finally wasting team time within each sprint. This paper presents a new framework, which is an updated version of the current Scrum, to overcome the scum models mentioned issues. In this study, a new framework is presented in a way that is understandable and needed by software developer’s team upon the collected qualitative and quantitative data. The implementation was by making some changes to the current scrum model leading to the “Scrumbear”, certain flaws can be corrected. One of the presented changes involve adding the control master rule to ensure controlling the requirements changing.

Effectiveness Analysis of Distributed Scrum Model Compared to Waterfall approach in Third-Party Application Development

Abstract Scrum is widely used to manage application development, including third-party vendors. There are some problems when third-party vendor using scrum such as communication challenges, lack of control, and lack of trust. Therefore, we proposed new model of distributed scrum using Scrum of Scrum and Holonic view to manage an application development project in third party vendors. In this study we created 3 model, Scrum Team Model, Meeting Coordination Model, and Product Backlog Model. In this study it has been shown that the Distributed scrum method is better than waterfall method as a result of the project’s success based on scope, time, and cost aspects. Based on the comparison result, it is found that the Cost Performance Index (CPI) and the Schedule Performance Index (SPI) value of the waterfall approach project is smaller than the Distributed scrum approach project as well as the change request issued by the Distributed scrum project resulting is less than the waterfall project.

A Collaborative Framework Supporting Ontology Development Based on Agile and Scrum Model

Ontology describes concepts and relations in a specific domain-knowledge that are important for knowledge representation and knowledge sharing. In the past few years, several tools have been introduced for ontology modeling and editing. To design and develop an ontology is one of the challenge tasks and its challenges are quite similar to software development as it requires many collaborative activities from many stakeholders (e.g. domain experts, knowledge engineers, application users, etc.) through the development cycle. Most of the existing tools do not provide collaborative feature to support stakeholders to collaborate work more effectively. In addition, there are lacking of standard process adoption for ontology development task. Thus, in this work, we incorporated ontology development process into Scrum process as used for process standard in software engineering. Based on Scrum, we can perform standard agile development of ontology that can reduce the development cycle as well as it can be responding to any changes better and faster. To support this idea, we proposed a Scrum Ontology Development Framework, which is an online collaborative framework for agile ontology design and development. Each ontology development process based on Scrum model will be supported by different services in our framework, aiming to promote collaborative activities among different roles of stakeholders. In addition to services such as ontology visualized modeling and editing, we also provide three more important features such as 1) concept/relation misunderstanding diagnosis, 2) cross-domain concept detection and 3) concept classification. All these features allow stakeholders to share their understanding and collaboratively discuss to improve quality of domain ontologies through a community consensus.

Pemilihan Model Scrum Dalam Pengembangan Sistem Monitoring Dengan Menggunakan Metode Agile Untuk Evaluasi Clinical Pathway

Hospitals as health care institutions are always required to provide quality, effective and acute services. PERSI forms a guideline for developing service standards so that it supports more accountable and efficient hospital health services called clinical pathways. Clinical pathways are used to systematically record each intervention given to patients. In its implementation, the clinical pathway does not always work perfectly, this is caused by various things such as the lack of resources (equipment and other health facilities), also caused by the negligence of technical implementers such as doctors, nurses, nutritionists, and pharmaceuticals. The clinical pathway monitoring system is important to know the obstacles that arise. The monitoring system can support the evaluation process to be faster. In this study, the system was developed using the agile method with the scrum model. The study was conducted at Harapan Harapan General Hospital in Tegal City involving those who played a direct role in using the system, Patient Care Management (MPP). The functional test results are divided into three, the first system quality results as much as 76% according to its function. Second, the assessment of the quality of information, the value of the quality of information produced as much as 68% according to its function. The three assessments of service quality obtained results as much as 63% according to its function.

An Integrated Software Development Method with built-in Software Process Improvement Framework

The concept of a startup is growing around the world where innovation is the major driving force. Managing such a small startup company from both technical and administrative perspective is a challenging issue. Though several approaches for software development, like the waterfall model, agile model, SCRUM model are available, it is difficult to implement such a model with full features due to limited number of resources, lack of experienced resources and lack of enough financial capability. The scopes of software process improvement are even narrower in a situation where they hardly manage or adapt a methodology. As a result, small companies suffer and work without a good quality framework model. Companies struggle to produce quality software. In this work, we have suggested an integrated software engineering methodology, in which, the process improvement framework is a built-in phenomenon. Our system is dubbed as 3D model, where the Ds stand for Design, Develop and Deploy. Design indicates the design of the product making as well as the process design. Develop and Deploy is also hinting to the product and process. The process improvement is managed through observation and management, which are fed back into the system through proper documentation. We did some client surveys, organization surveys, and observed work patterns of a group of human resources for a period. We measured some of the parameters before and after the implementation of 3D model. We found that implementation of 3D model gives an improved process and product development environment with no extra manpower or extra costing.

Using mobile applications to evaluate quality of road networks and transport mobility

The paper studies the possibility of using mobile apps for quality control of the urban environment, road networks and transport servicing of the population. We analyze Russian and foreign technical solutions and specify the set of functional user features of the developed application. Based on an online survey in Google Forms, we determine the demand for the application along with the preferable set of functions. iOS is selected as an operational system to run the mobile app. To develop the app based on the iOS platform, Clean Swift architecture is chosen. Marker criteria are developed and selected to evaluate the quality of the urban environment and road networks. The Scrum model is chosen as a life cycle model. The app is developed and tested in the X-Code environment with Swift. The data analysis module is written in Python_3. The app is tested in the TestFlight environment. Guidelines for further development of the developed tools within intelligent transport systems and Smart City are identified.

Conceptual Framework of Dynamic Scrum Model and Knowledge Management for Software Product Management

Software development methodologies and knowledge management (KM) are a dynamic part of core challenge of the organization in order to deliver on time with less effort and efficient software product. Scrum model is widely known as one of the best common software development methodologies and this paper has conducted a survey on how to transfer the knowledge between team members. Moreover, the Scrum model relies on daily stand-up meeting or daily scrum meeting for capture and share knowledge. Thus, this paper investigates Scrum model and knowledge management process on how to improve the proficiency of knowledge sharing among the software practitioners with less time and effort. It also proposes a conceptual framework where it stores and retrieves the tacit knowledge via Scrum model for software product management. This proposed conceptual framework is used to store and retrieve the tacit knowledge via Scrum process for software product management to save a time consuming and effort.

To Monitor and Improve Project Development of Final Year Students using Scrum Model

In today’s challenging world of computer science, technology updations are frequent, because of which it becomes difficult for the students and the faculty related with computer science courses to keep pace with the updations. Similarly time management is also an issue that may affect effective teaching. For most of the degree courses in computer science students have to submit projects .There is a time constraint for project completion as the project is to be submitted within a semester i.e. almost three months. This research paper describes an attempt to integrate agile method and implement scrum model in computer science courses to help students complete the project on time. Scrum model focuses on self-organizing teams that will provide platform to the students to practice project organization. In this paper we have discussed a report for implementing scrum model to monitor project progress of final year students. The basic objective of the paper is to reduce incomplete Project submission at the end of the degree course and also the practical implementation of the scrum model helps the students to correlate subject knowledge.

Aplicação da metodologia scrum em um estudo de caso de engenharia

Este trabalho teve por objetivo descrever a aplicação do modelo Scrum, de gerenciamento de projetos, em um projeto de desenvolvimento de uma estufa para hortaliças. Foi utilizado o modelo Scrum adaptado para o ambiente educacional (eduScrum), como forma de melhor gerenciar as etapas de desenvolvimento da estufa. Para a execução do projeto, foi utilizada uma equipe multifuncional, a qual tinha conhecimentos na área de Engenharia de Produção, Manufatura, Mecatrônica e Agrícola. Como resultados da aplicação do modelo Scrum, pode-se observar que o projeto foi executado dentro do tempo pré-determinado e, um dos fatores que corroboraram para isso, foi o sistema de gates, que permitiram o maior controle do projeto. Além disso, foi determinado também, um conjunto de indicadores de desempenho, que auxiliaram na condução das etapas de desenvolvimento da estufa. Portanto, concluiu-se que o modelo Scrum utilizado foi de fundamental importância para o bom resultado do projeto.

Research Notes — Software Process Selection Based Upon Abstract Machines for Slow Intelligence Systems

The abstract-machine model was developed by Chang to formalize the decision cycles of slow intelligence systems. It turns out that the selection of software process can also be regarded as a slow intelligence system. In this paper, we formalize abstract-machine prototypes for different software process models (SPMs) such as waterfall model, incremental model, spiral model, extreme programming model and scrum model. A Software Process Generator (SPG) was implemented to generate SPMs based upon design considerations. Initial evaluation by undergraduate students using SPG to learn software processes suggests further improvements to make it a useful learning tool.

Comparison of Agile Method and Scrum Method with Software Quality Affecting Factors

The software industry used software development lifecycle (SDLC) to design, develop, produce high quality, reliable and cost-effective software products. To develop an application, project team used some methodology which may include artifacts and pre-defining specific deliverables. There are different SDLC process models such as waterfall, iterative, spiral and agile model available to develop a quality product. In this paper we focus only on agile software development model, and Scrum model and their techniques. There are many papers and books written on agile methodologies. We will also use their knowledge in this paper. To collect data for comparison of agile method with software quality affecting factors, an online questionnaire survey was conducted. The survey sample consisted of software developers with several years of industry experience using agile methodologies. The main purpose of this study is to compare soft-ware quality affecting factors with agile and scrum model.

PROSPECTS OF AGILE MANAGEMENT METHODOLOGY APPLICATION IN IT-PROJECT MANAGEMENT

The paper proposes a modern scientific and practical approach to improving the performance of enterprises through the use of Agile management. The purpose of the article is to improve the process of managing web projects through the use of agile management mechanisms in the planning and development phase of an IT project. One of the possible promising methods for solving modern management problems is the application of the principles of flexible development methodology. (Agile development). The prerequisites for the emergence of the Agile management concept were identified and a comparative analysis of project management approaches was conducted. The peculiarities of application of different project management methodologies in IT companies are investigated. The characteristics of the positive and negative aspects of the application of alternative approaches to software development are given. The main difference between traditional software development methodology and flexible development methodology is outlined. The basic characteristics of the most used model of agile management - the Scrum model are given. It is determined that within the framework of the Scrum model, the factors of minimizing the risk of failure of individual projects and the entire project portfolio of an organization are: ensuring the balance of the portfolio in its formation; regular monitoring of the portfolio implementation and preventive measures; agreed decision-making on changes to projects, taking into account the interrelation of content, timing and resources with other projects. Changes were recorded in the functional responsibilities of investors, executives, and customers of the software when implementing the flexible methodology. The factors of increase of efficiency of realization of IT-projects are revealed and advantages of correct use of flexible methodology for projects in the field of IT are stated. A further area of research in the field of lean / agile management methodology will be to apply the benefits of these methodological approaches to other areas of the economy.

Blended Scrum model for software development organizations

AbstractSoftware organizations have to develop software in a short time, and quickly respond to changing requirements. Recently, organizations have started to implement agile development models to reduce cost and increase productivity and quality. Scrum, one of the most widely used agile methodologies, is often implemented in various ways that depart in an uncontrolled fashion from the original model, resulting in development methods often called “ScrumBut.” Some argue that such incomplete implementations violate Scrum's core practices and philosophy, while others propose that all methodologies should be adapted to organization's unique culture and integrated with their best practices.In this research, a Blended Scrum model was proposed to overcome uncontrolled ScrumBut issues while transitioning to Scrum. The study was organized as a case study in which software professionals working in Scrum teams were interviewed. In addition, a questionnaire was conducted with other software professionals to determine how agile methods, specifically Scrum, were used. The interviews and questionnaire revealed various Scrum practical implementations. The Blended Scrum model was developed by integrating original Scrum with practices that were determined by interviews and questionnaire conducted with software professionals with real‐world Scrum experience. Finally, the Blended Scrum model was evaluated by Scrum professionals and received positive feedback.

Implementasi Scrum Model Development Pada Monitoring Inventory Control Cleaning Equipment dan Chemical PT. Explore Global Solution

The rapid technological advances have driven many service companies to take advantage of technology to improve their services. PT. Explore Global Solution, a cleaning service company with a manual hygiene control monitoring system through record keeping using ledgers and forms provided by the company, so that the company's activities have not run optimally, it is necessary to design the information system with the availability of time for 10 weeks, This research is done by using the method of exploration and application development with scrum model. The end result of this research is web-based applications that can improve operational performance, especially logistics division, with completion time of 373 hours or equivalent to 5 working days 8 hours per day is 9 weeks 3 days.

Incorporating quality control activities in scrum in relation to the concept of test backlog

Scrum has become popular among the agile methodologies due to the substantial support that it provides to the project management teams. The scrum process delivers quick functionality in the form of sprints. Most of the quality assurance and quality control activities are skipped in scrum because of its short lifecycle and due to the absence of a dedicated quality assurance team. The development team pays more attention to delivery of products according to the customer satisfaction, and the parameters used for this type of assessment are the story success criteria and user acceptance testing. Only acceptance testing and integration testing are not sufficient to achieve a quality product. There is still a clamouring need felt to incorporate other quality control activities in scrum to achieve a quality product. In this work, we have made an attempt to implement the quality control activities in the scrum philosophy by introducing the concept of test backlog. The enhanced scrum model provides quality assessment methodology on the basis of frequency of remaining functional bugs. The concept of test backlog proposed in this study aims at implementing state of the art testing process in scrum. A case study was carried out to validate the model, which produced satisfactory results. Besides, we conducted a survey to access the state of the quality control in scrum. The proposed model and case study results are reported herein.

IMPLEMENTATION OF REUSE IN THE AGILE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS SCRUM

The concept of reuse is applied in one of the agile development methodologies called the scrum. Sprint is a single functionality and the result at the end of the sprint functionality is derived as the shippable or bugs. This paper makes an attempt to use the concept of reuse in the agile software development to meet the dynamic change of customer requirements in banks. A banking project is created using both waterfall model and scrum model, and the knowledge gained is stored in the ontology-based repository for the first time. Again, the same project is created for different vendors using the ontology-based repository. The result shows that maximum sprint is reused and all the knowledge gained is stored in the form of ontology. This ontology helps identify the shippable component of each sprint which is a small executable functionality. This leads to less cost and time to deliver the product. The main aim is to increase the availability of the reusable artifacts, which lead to increase the reusability of the developer. The experimental results show improvements in the performance of retrieving the components for the software development.

Sistem Informasi Mahasiswa Asing

<em>Abstract</em>—A residence permit is permission given to foreigners by Immigration Officials or foreign-service officer to be in the region of Indonesia in a certain period of time. Foreign students studying in Indonesia must have a residence permit in order to continue learning in Indonesia. Residence permit have a time limit and must always be extended before it expires (overstayed). Foreign student information system and a reminder of this residence permit are systems built to help foreign students of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang in reminding the residence permit problems. This research uses Agile Development with Scrum model in development. GNU All Mobile Management Utilities (GAMMU) is used for sending SMS (Short Message Service), and Cron program is used for running SMS commands automatically each day. The results of this research are the foreign student information system and reminder that automatically provide reminder in the form of SMS to foreign students whose the validity period of residence permit will run out.
