Peningkatan Minat Baca Peserta Didik Melalui Program Literasi di SDN Sidokare 1 Sidoarjo

Reading interest is one of the key factors in developing learners' literacy skills. A literacy program can be one solution to this problem that not only focuses on teaching reading but also creates an atmosphere that supports reading interest. The purpose of the study was to find out how much impact the school literacy program has on students' interest in reading at SDN Sidokare 1 Sidoarjo. This research uses qualitative research methods with the target of Principals, Teachers and students in the environment of SDN Sidokare 1 Sidoarjo with data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation through recording and collecting data from the subject of observation. Based on the results of the research, the school library program has a positive impact on students' interest in reading. There are obstacles faced by limited resources, both in the form of books, facilities and infrastructure, technology and qualified educators. School efforts in dealing with these obstacles by providing socialization, adding facilities and infrastructure and collaborating with related agencies (regional library office) to support the activeness of students' interest in reading at SDN SIdokare 1.

Teachers' Experiences in Implementing the School Literacy Movement (GLS): An Investigation of Junior High School Literacy Programs in Indonesia

This study explores the experiences of junior secondary school teachers in Indonesia who have implemented the School Literacy Movement (GLS). The study focuses on teachers' perceptions of GLS, its implementation, and its challenges. This study used a phenomenological approach involving 20 teachers to share their insights on the research topic. Data analysis was conducted through a qualitative research paradigm using ATLAS.ti 9 software. The tool facilitated the study of participants' transcripts and documentation, enabling the verbal expression of essential phrases or sentences, the identification of meanings and themes, and the combination of these elements into a comprehensive and insightful description. This study found that teachers implemented incomplete stages of GLS, driven by their limited perception of the program, which focused more on general reading skills. Their planning and implementation of GLS was superficial, and they faced significant issues such as time, evaluation, teacher workload, limited interaction or lack of training, and low student interest in reading. Challenges include limited learning resources and access and an unsupportive environment, facilities, and infrastructure

ANALYSIS OF NYALI COMMUNITY (NYAMAN LITERASI) IN IMPROVING READING INTEREST AT SMPN 20 MEDAN

Education and literacy are key components in forming an intelligent and skilled generation, with students' reading interest being a crucial indicator of literacy ability. Comprehensive education encompasses the development of spirituality, personality, intelligence, and skills, as stated in Law No. 20 of 2003. The government strives to enhance literacy through the School Literacy Movement (GLS), which aims to cultivate and improve literacy comprehensively and sustainably. This study examines the efforts of the NYALI (Nyaman Literasi) community at SMPN 20 Medan in increasing students' reading interest. NYALI creates a supportive environment for reading through various activities such as Book Tourism, short story classes, public speaking classes, an English Club, library volunteers, and peer tutors. This research uses a qualitative approach with surveys, observations, and interviews to evaluate the impact of literacy activities on students' reading interest. The results show that student participation in NYALI activities has increased their confidence and academic performance. Internal factors like motivation and external factors such as family and school environment play crucial roles in students' reading interest. School literacy programs, supported by the community and family, are essential for creating a generation that loves reading and possesses strong literacy skills.

Pengaruh Program Literasi Terhadap Peningkatan Minat Baca Siswa Kelas V SDN Curug 03 Depok

This study aims to determine the influence of school literacy programs on the increase in students' reading interest at SDN Curug 03 Depok. The method used is quantitative. The population in this study is 64 students. The sample used in the study was as many as 64 students with sample withdrawal using the total sampling technique or saturated sampling. Data collection techniques by, questionnaires/questionnaires. The data analysis technique uses simple linear regression. The results of the research from the simple linear regression hypothesis test obtained a constant value of 10.361, a coefficient value of 0.694 and a significance value of 0.000. In the decision-making rule that the significance is 0.000 > 0.05, it can be concluded that there is an influence of literacy programs on improving student reading. In other words, the better the use of school literacy programs, the more it will increase students' interest in reading.

By continuing to develop and expand literacy programs, it is hoped that students' interest in reading can continue to be increased thereby contributing to improving the quality of education in schools. At SMAN 1 Langkaplancar, various efforts to improve library facilities have succeeded in creating an environment that supports literacy activities and encourages students' interest in reading.

The Impact of the Principal's Leadership on the Role of Teachers in Implementing School Literacy Activities

The Indonesian government has made significant efforts to enhance literacy at the elementary school level as a foundational aspect of students' educational development and to foster a culture of reading and writing from an early age. This research aims to understand literacy activities in elementary schools to impact students' interest and instill character by studying reading, writing, and cultural literacy. Specifically, the research seeks to determine the impact of principals' leadership on teachers' roles in implementing school literacy activities. Using a qualitative approach, the study's results demonstrate that the leadership of school principals in Cluster VI, Kota Bahagia District, South Aceh, significantly influences the implementation of school literacy programs. Principals with positive personalities, adequate knowledge, a strong understanding of the vision and mission, good decision-making abilities, and effective communication skills are able to support and facilitate teachers in literacy implementation. Literacy is crucial for elementary school students as it enables them to read well, write, listen, and understand the diverse cultures of Indonesia, instilling cultural character from an early age.

School Literacy Program Against Merdeka Thinking to Strengthen The Humanistic Learning Process at The Elementary School Level

This research aims to 1) Eliminate the uniform clothing system for students, 2) Implement a humanist learning system. The method used is literature review with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection techniques use interviews, observation and analysis of analyzed notes. The data taken are documents related to research. The research results show that learning is prioritized using a humanistic approach, but in reality there are still many learning processes that do not implement humanistic learning as a whole. For example, uniformity in clothing for students will ultimately kill students' potential, talents, interests, creativity and work results. The recommendation of this research is that a bottom-up curriculum model is worthy of being developed, so that educational components can strive for the overall curriculum components. However, an educator is a planner, implementer and perfectionist in a learning process. Because educators are the ones who best understand the conditions in the field from Sabang to Merauke, therefore educators are the most competent in compiling a curriculum in the classroom or at school. So the researchers recommend that the school literacy program "independent thinking about local wisdom" be implemented at the elementary school education unit level.

Implementation of School Literacy Movement of The Class XI SMK Kesehatan Haji Sumatera Utara


 
 
 
 The purpose of this research was to know the students’ implementation of school literacy program. The design of this research was descriptive quantitative research by using Survey method. The instrument of this research was questionnaire to know the implementation of students toward the school literacy program. The population of this research was all of the eleventh grade students of SMK Kesehatan Haji Sumut which consisted of 3 majors and 59 students. The sample was all of the population because this research was using total sampling technique The instrument validity test was carried out by using expert validity to three experts as instrument validators and to analyze the data was done by identifying the responses, counting the percentages of each indicator and taking the conclusion. The results of the research showed that the average score of the habituation stage of school literacy program was 38,07% which was good perception. The average score of the development stage of school literacy program was 38,22% which was good perception. The last, the average score of the learning stage of school literacy program was 38,66% which was good perception. It can be concluded, the average mean of students’ perception toward the implementation of school literacy program was 38,30% which was in good category in the rating interpretation 60%-39,99%.
 
 
 

The School Literacy Program: The Parental Role in Improving Literacy Skills on Online Learning of Elementary Students

Parents who have a high level of education tend to understand more and think that education is very important for their children, so they prioritize education for their children. In addition, the way to educate children tends to be different between parents who have a high level of education and those with low education. The aim of this study is to analyze the parental role to improve literacy skills on students. This study is qualitative research with the subject is parents of students, moreover the Interview will be the instrument and data collection of this study. However, data collection of this using interview with survey method to get data from participants. However, data triangulation is data analyzing method for this study. The instrument used is a questionnaire. The population is 134 people, using a tolerance level of 5%, it can be seen that the number of samples in this study were 100 parents. The result found that Online learning is inseparable from problems that are obstacles in its literacy skills of elementary students, including online learning for elementary school students such as limited telecommunication networks. It is important to know the barriers for parents to assist their children to improve their literacy skills in online learning, solutions and projections of online learning for elementary school students.in conclusion, role of parents could take responsibility of their children in improving literacy skills through online learning for elementary school.

School Literacy Movement Program and Its Impact on Students Reading Interest and Reading Comprehension Skills

This research was motivated by the low interest in reading and students' reading comprehension abilities. The School Literacy Movement was implemented as an effort to improve students' abilities in literacy. The School Literacy Program has the potential to increase students' reading interest and reading comprehension. The school literacy movement program often organizes various interesting activities such as writer's meetings, reading competitions, and book clubs. These activities can stimulate students' interest in reading and help them feel more connected to the world of literacy. This program focuses on teaching literacy skills, including reading comprehension. The aim of this research is to describe the implementation of the School Literacy Movement, the impact on reading interest, and the impact on fourth grade students' reading comprehension abilities. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive case study approach. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The results of this research show that students have implemented the School Literacy Movement. Students' interest in reading has increased and their enthusiasm has increased. Students' reading comprehension abilities have also increased, it is known from tests on reading story texts and answering questions that students are able to understand the contents of the text, find the message of the story, and are able to summarize the story. In terms of reading comprehension, this program also integrates strategies and approaches supported by research to improve students' reading comprehension. Thus, the School Literacy Program can provide a strong foundation for the development of reading skills and better reading comprehension in students.

Management of the Liqo' Program to Improve School Literacy at Elementary School Plus Muhammadiyah Brawijaya, Mojokerto City

A great nation is characterized by a literate and highly civilized society. The Indonesian nation as a large nation must be able to develop a literacy culture as a prerequisite for 21st century life skills. Liqo; as one of the habituation programs at SD Plus Muhammadiya Brawijaya is expected to be able to develop a school literacy culture. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the liqo' program management system at SD Plus Muhammadiya Brawijaya to improve school literacy. The research method used is descriptive qualitative in the field of management science. The results showed that the management of the liqo' program at SD Plus Muhammadiyah Brawijaya, Mojokerto City was implemented by implementing four management steps, namely Planning, Organizing, Actuating and Evaluation, then applied through the stages of habituation, development and evaluation. teaching. Innovation from the implementation of the liqo' program accompanied by well-organized implementation management is very helpful in improving school literacy culture. The benefits of this research are expected to be a source or reference in the development of the School Literacy program.

The Implementation of School Literacy Movement in SMP Laboratorium Undiksha Singaraja

This research aimed at how was the school literacy program implemented in SMP Laboratorium Undiksha Singaraja. Mixed-method was used because the data of this research were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. There were six findings showed that the financial resources were getting from BOS fund and book donation. The time resources that students read books around 15 minutes before whilst-activity in the classroom while this school has special schedule in outside classroom that was called happy Friday. The facility resources were library, laboratory rooms, reading corner, and multimedia area in good condition. The processes of implementation were conducted in three stages; introduction stage, implementation stage, and establishment stage. The output measurements were through teachers’ evaluation, checking students’ project, checking students’ performance, students and teachers achievement, checking library visit, and students’ achievement in national exam. Furthermore, the sixth finding showed the impacts of reading motivation and reading habit were in moderate category.

Pelaksanaan Program Literasi Sekolah Dasar di Kampar

This article describes the literacy program for elementary school students through observation visits. Elementary school was chosen as a means of instilling literacy because it is hoped that by habituating literacy from an early age, students can acquire literacy habits as a provision for the future. The purpose of this study is to find out the process of literacy programs in elementary schools. Research is a type of descriptive research using a qualitative approach. The subjects involved in this study were school principals, teachers, students and the community at SDKampar. Collecting data in the study was carried out by interview, observation, and documentation methods. The results of the research analysis show that literacy activities are carried out by inviting students to take part in the school literacy program where all of these activities have been well attended by students even though there are some obstacles in them. There are many government policies implemented in elementary schools regarding literacy. The government is aware of the importance of literacy for elementary school students. Literacy isconsidered important because literacy will open wider insights and knowledge.

The Implementation of 15-Minute Extensive Reading Approach As School Literacy Movement Activity: Students' Perceptions

The low rate of Indonesian students’ literacy skills need to be deliberated more. Responding to this issue, the government created the school literacy movement program to improve Indonesian students’ literacy. The aim of this study is to investigate the implementation as well as the students' perceptions towards 15-minute extensive reading as school literacy movement (GLS) activity in the classroom. This study employed a qualitative method which applied descriptive case study design. The research was conducted at SMP Brawijaya Smart School Malang. The instruments were observation notes and interview guidelines. The interview involved two students who have been undergoing extensive reading activity at school. The collected data were analysed by using interactive analysis model which was carried out in four stages, namely collecting data, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings showed that the implementation of 15-minute extensive reading approach as school literacy movement in SMP Brawijaya Smart School Malang was held quite well by involving and reflecting 9 of the 10 principle of extensive reading as well as two stages of the school literacy program (GLS) namely habituation and development. The findings also revealed that the implementation of 15-minute extensive reading approach as school literacy movement activity is categorically helpful for SMP Brawijaya Smart School Malang students’ literacy and second language acquisition.

Strengthening school literacy programs with support from library collection development

Literacy is a skill that everyone must own. This literacy skill includes processing, understanding, and interpreting information about matters in specific fields. The information was obtained as support and survival. The urgency of cultivating literacy is becoming an increasingly important topic to be intensified at this time. Various ways are done so the community can fully master that literacy. One of them is by empowering the school library. Empowerment of the school library in this activity focuses on collection development. The development of school library collections is an activity schools must carry out to support student learning facilities. However, several schools still need to implement library collection development. One of them is the UPI Literacy Thematic KKN activity, namely at the Tahfidzul Qur'an Al-Ishlah Putri Islamic Boarding School, which is located in Bogor Regency. Based on these problems, the author seeks to design a community service program in the Tahfidzul Qur'an Al-Ishlah Putri Islamic Boarding School library to support the school's literacy program. The service method implemented is strengthening the school literacy program with support for developing library collections. The results of this program are a concern and the starting gate for the sustainability of literacy activities at the Tahfidzul Qur'an Al-Ishlah Putri Islamic Boarding School.

IMPLEMENTASI PROGRAM LITERASI SEKOLAH DALAM MENINGKATKAN MUTU PEMBELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DI SD YPPSB SANGATTA

This study aims to describe the implementation of the school literacy program, the supporting factors, and the inhibiting factors in improving the quality of Islamic religious education learning at SD YPPSB Sangatta. Qualitative research methods, with a phenomenological sociology approach. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the literacy movement program in improving the quality of PAI learning at SD YPPSB Sangatta is through a reading program 10-15 minutes before learning begins and a Al-Qur'an reading program, mandatory visits to the library and gift giving programs, holding literacy competitions and the program to make a writing with their own essays. The improvement in the quality of Islamic religious education learning at SD YPPSB Sangatta can be seen from the increased activeness of students in participating in learning activities, increased activeness in reading, increased concentration in listening and being able to express opinions. The increase in students' abilities can also be seen from students' success in doing work and the school's success in creating hafidzul Qur'an through the Bina Cinta Allah activity. Factors supporting the implementation of the literacy movement program at SD YPPSB Sangatta, namely the existence of suitable facilities and services from the library, availability of learning media, support from foundations, and good school leadership in implementing literacy. While the inhibiting factors are the occurrence of the Covid-19 pandemic, the availability of textbooks that still need to be improved, the lack of interest in reading from students' excessive use of gadgets, and the personal motivation of each student in implementing literacy.

Indonesian Language Performance of Mentally Retarded Children: Reference for Writing Literacy Text Needs

This research examines the Indonesian language performance of mentally retarded children by identifying the vocabulary and sentence patterns. These two elements have implications for effective reading speed, which is needed in implementing the school literacy program. Identifying the vocabulary and sentence patterns of mentally retarded children is important to show the causes and overcome the low effective reading speed problems. Based on the data and discussion, the vocabulary is dominated by concrete nouns – monomorphemics, and the dominant sentence pattern is a monoclause – active. Meanwhile, the limitations of abstract thinking trigger the dominance of vocabulary characteristics and sentence patterns. Hence they fail to apply grammatical aspects in forming polymorphemic words and sentences with multiclauses. Text interventions are needed following their Indonesian language performance and repertoire to support their involvement in the school literacy program.

Habituation of the Character of Enjoying Reading Through the School Literacy Movement Program in the Lower Grades of Elementary Schools

This study aims to describe the implementation of character education fond of reading through the school literacy program for students at SDIT Muhammadiyah Al Kautsar, Kartasura. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research subjects were the grade II teacher, the Library Division, and the Vice Principal for Student Affairs. This research instrument used Human Instrument, where this qualitative research determined the focus of research, selected information as data sources, conducts data collection, assessed qualitative data, analyzes data, interpreted data, and made conclusion based on its findings. In qualitative research, besides acting as the main instrument, researchers also used data collection techniques, including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study showed that the application of the character of fond of reading in the School Literacy Movement program was carried out every day during school hours by reading books for 10-15 minutes of reading, then making a core of the task read after that telling or presenting it back. To support school literacy activities, facilities, and infrastructure in the form of reading corners located in classrooms, as well as literacy cards to record the results of students' independent reading, were provided. Meanwhile, students' reading interest at SDIT Muhammadiyah Al Kautsar Kartasura was known through the Literacy Card for student visits to the library. The implementation of literacy classes was related to increasing students' interest in reading because students can take the time to read a little to fulfill literacy cards. If the application of this love of reading can run well and regularly, the student's interest in reading will also increase.
