Efforts to Improve Clean and Healthy Living Behaviors in Elementary School Level Students Through The Essence of The Small Doctor Program in The School Environment

This study aims to 1) determine the relationship between small doctor programs and clean and healthy living behaviors in elementary school students; 2) knowing the relationship between the school environment and clean and healthy living behaviors in elementary school students. This research was conducted at an elementary school in Tembong Village, Cipocok Jaya District, Serang City with a total sample taken of 78<em> simple random sampling </em>students. Data analysis using correlation coefficient analysis with the SPSS program. The results of this study show that there is a positive and significant relationship between small doctor programs and clean and healthy living behaviors. There is a positive and significant relationship between the school environment and clean and healthy living behaviors

The Role of Literature Teaching in Improving Students' Language Skills

Students' views on language learning are an important foundation in formulating language learning plans and processes. This study aims to look at students' views about the benefits of learning literature in language learning at the high school level. This study also seeks to reveal differences in the views of students from several schools. Researchers use a comprehensive approach to analyse students' views about the benefits of learning literature in learning. Researchers used a survey research method involving an open-ended questionnaire to see students' views on the benefits of learning literature in language learning. The research participants were 555 high school level students from fifteen schools. The research findings show that most students provide a positive view, that is, learning literature in learning Indonesian really supports the linguistic aspects of language learning. Generally, students' views of the benefits of literature are based on the teaching approach used sequentially from the largest to the smallest percentage, namely the language approach, the context approach, followed by the reader's approach and the text approach. The most proportionate combination of approaches is the language approach with context. Some differences from the research sample regarding the benefits of learning in aspects of supporting language skills are caused by differences in the style of approach or pedagogies used by teachers. The results implied that teachers can see and consider students' perspectives or views regarding the benefits of learning literature which are then used to support language learning.

MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN INTERAKTIF PADA APLIKASI PEAR DECK

This study aims to determine the Pear Deck application as an interactive learning medium in Indonesian lessons regarding descriptive texts. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. The data in this study were obtained based on observations and written interviews conducted online. Junior high school level students (SMP) are the subjects in this study. Meanwhile, the object of this research is the use and use of the Pear Deck application as an interactive learning medium in Indonesian language learning related to descriptive text material. The source of this research data was obtained through the learning process carried out online or online with the research subjects using the Pear Deck application. Based on the results and discussion in this study, the Pear Deck application can be used for Indonesian language learning media because it can create interactive learning through the features provided.

Development of E-Learning-Based Blended Learning to Increase Student Learning Motivation During a Pandemic

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, which began in early 2020, led to the need for online learning. This does not rule out the need for an e-learning media that requires a learning method that supports synchronous and asynchronous learning. Therefore it is necessary to develop e-learning based on blended learning that utilizes the potential of the features in the Moodle Learning Management System. The proposed development of potential features in Moodle is virtual conferences for synchronous learning and discussion forums for asynchronous learning. The use of e-learning based on blended learning aims to get good student learning motivation. To measure the impact of learning motivation, a questionnaire was administered to high school level students. The results of the questionnaire show online learning using other media such as Whatsapp groups without conducting face-to-face learning to get an average score of 1.85 which is a low criterion, while the results of the student learning motivation questionnaire after participating in e-learning based on blended learning get an average score of 3.39 which includes high criteria.

Evaluation of dental anxiety in school going children using modified dental anxiety scale and facial image scale

Background: Dental anxiety refers to patient’s response toward stresses associated with dental procedures. It can present problem for both dentist and patient, particularly in paediatric dentistry. Hence, it is important to identify anxious patients for improved patient management and development of better treatment strategies. Objectives: To evaluate the prevalence of dental anxiety in schoolchildren using Modified Dental Anxiety Nepali version (MDAS-N) and Facial Image Scale (FIS). Methods: An analytical cross-sectional study was carried out in 401 schoolchildren (11.34 ± 1.85 years) using convenience sampling method from 2022 June to 2022 August after ethical approval was obtained from Nepal Medical College. The dental anxiety was assessed by questionnaire provided in MDAS-N and FIS. Independent t-test was done in SPSS v.20.0 to analyse the data. Results: The data have shown that 375 (93.52%) had dental anxiety (mean MDAS-N = 11.83 ± 3.59) with low and moderate anxiety in 153 (38.15%) and 140 (34.92%) respectively. Seventy (36.08%) females presented with moderate anxiety and 92 (44.44%) males had low anxiety. The mean score difference was statistically significant (p-value <0.001) between the genders. Statistically significant difference (p-value = 0.023) was found between FIS mean score of primary and middle school level students. Injection and drilling the tooth were the procedures with high anxiety score in both scales. There was a moderate positive correlation between MDAS-N and FIS (r = 0.574). Conclusion: Assessing dental anxiety and factors provoking fear and anxiety in dental clinic is useful, as behaviour management can be applied accordingly for child patients.

Rumah Pintar Pemilu Kampar dan Peningkatan Literasi Politik Peserta Didik Tingkat SMA

This study aims to describe the role of the Kampar Election Smart House (ESH) in increasing the political literacy of high school level students. This study used qualitative research methods . As for the data and data sources used in this study using primary data and secondary data. Primary data from this study came from the results of in-depth interviews with staffs at ESH Kampar and observations of the activities. This research was carried out because of the low level of political literacy of students. There are still many students who are apathetic, this is due to the low level of political literacy. The results of this research is Kampar's ESH played a role in increasing the political literacy of students at the high school level. Kampar’S ESH provides education about democratic, electoral values, and other political values ​​such as providing education about the state and power, Activities of political institutions of authority and their role trains expressing opinions, government regulations and public services, and involves students in activities politics. The limitations of this research is Kampar’s ESH is doing political literacy in one state high school. Though there are 51 high school in this regency.

Peran Pengajaran Membaca dan Menulis dalam Meningkatkan Kemampuan Menulis Esai Argumentasi

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of teaching reading and writing skills based on critical thinking skills in improving argumentative essay writing skills. Quasi-experimental was used as a research method involving 250 high school level students, divided into experimental and control groups, each consisting of 125 students. The experimental group received an instructional design intervention, while the control group received regular intervention in writing argumentative essays. The research findings show first that this instructional design can improve the ability to write argumentative essays. Depth, logical organization, and criticality, cohesion, coherence, and the use of language used in writing argumentation essays have increased. In addition, instructional design is also able to improve students' critical thinking skills. The improvement of students' critical thinking skills can be seen in the ability to analyze and evaluate the logic used in argumentative essays. So, the integration of reading, writing, and critical thinking skills can improve the ability to write argumentative essays, students' critical thinking, and student attitudes and responses.

An Investigation of Role of Portfolio Assessment on Students’ Achievement

Portfolio assessment has emerged as an alternative technique of assessment of students due to its noteworthy role in enhancing students’ achievement. Therefore, the present study was an attempt to develop a portfolio and further investigate the role of portfolio assessment on students’ achievement at the secondary school level students. Pupils of the ninth class were considered as the population of the research study. Two groups of ninth-class students (Control Group and Experimental Group) from a public school located in Multan were treated as a sample of the study. The targeted population consisted of 73 students. The control group students (N=42) were assessed through traditional assessment techniques, whereas the experimental group (N=31) received treatment (portfolio assessment strategy). Data were collected through the results of the first-term examination, second-term examination, third-term examination and monthly tests from September to December. All tests and results were saved in their portfolios, and later on, their achievement was assessed on the basis of recorded information in a portfolio. Test scores and self-reporting questionnaire scores were used as measures of students’ academic achievements and mean The percentage of the experimental group was 67.3%, while the control group got 52.3%. There was no significant difference between the experimental and control groups for the first term and a significant difference for the third term.

Pelatihan Aplikasi Perkantoran Bagi Masyarakat Kelurahan Sidorejo

Village is a community unit that has territorial boundaries that has the authority to take care of all the interests of residents or the local community. The village is led by the Village Head who is assisted by village officials and supervised by the Village Consultative Body in accordance with Permendagri number 110/2016 regarding the duties and functions of the BPD. The lack of knowledge of residents about Information Technology such as the operation of Microsoft word and excel in terms of writing correspondence is an obstacle in their activities, especially for high school/vocational school level students or office workers. The aim of this Microsoft word and microwoft excel training is to improve the quality of Human Resources ( HR) for the people of Sidorejo Village, Labuhanbatu Regency. The methods in this training are the discussion method and the practical method. The results of this training show that there is an increase in the skills of the residents of Sidorejo Village, Labuhanbatu Regency in operating and using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, this can help smooth their daily work and increase residents' knowledge about science and technology

Effectiveness of integration of teaching reading and writing skills based on critical thinking skills in improving argumentation essay writing ability

This study aims to study the effectiveness of the integration of teaching reading and writing based on critical thinking skills (ITRWCT) in improving the ability to write argumentative essays. The method used is a quasi-experimental method by dividing participants into experimental and control groups. This study involved 260 high school-level students divided into experimental and control groups of 130 students each. The research findings show first that ITRWCT can improve argumentation writing skills. The improvement is seen in the depth, logical organisation and criticality, cohesion, coherence, and use of language used in writing argumentative essays. Second, ITRWCT is able to significantly improve students' critical thinking skills. The improvement of students' critical thinking skills can be seen in the ability to analyse and evaluate the logic used in argumentative essays. And third, students' attitudes towards the design of this instruction generally provide a positive response, they like and are interested in the activities in the learning process. So, this ITRWCT learning instruction is able to improve the ability to write argumentative essays, students' critical thinking skills and student attitudes. Recommendations for further research include a wider sample, involving gender variables, requiring longer interventions to obtain a more optimal intervention effect and needing to be strengthened by qualitative analysis. Quality Education & Use of Smartphones among School Students:

This investigation aims to find the effect of smartphones on the quality of education of School level students as smartphones have become available to them after Covid-19 to ensure e-learning. A mixed method of qualitative & Quantitative analysis was utilised to determine the impact of the smartphone. Random sampling was undertaken among 100 school-level students from four selected schools of Raninagar Upazila in Naogaon District for a questionnaire. An FGD was also made with those schools' teachers to analyse the impact on quality education. This study shows that about 65 percent of high school students got a smartphone after the Covid-19 period. Even though smartphones are beneficial for online classes and preparing study materials, adolescents are becoming reliant on them for unneeded communication. Spending extra time on smartphones hampers their way of achieving quality education. As we cannot ignore the necessity of smartphones in the e-learning process, we can allow smartphones to them but with some restrictions. The use of smartphones can be restricted at night, and morning time can be allocated to get the maximum benefit within a shorter period. Also, keeping a smartphone during class time should be strongly prohibited.

Maritime history monopoly board model as effective methods for social science learning

Encouraging school-level students to be active and motivated in learning activities requires the right approach. This article aims to show that the student's motivation for learning can be improved if we use an experimental learning approach. A deep understanding of learning materials can be done by designing game media which are generally known as "monopoly" by various groups, to become "Mariology," containing the primary material studied in learning. The material reviewed in this media is included in the sub-discussion of Social Sciences at Grade 8 Curriculum 2013. The class used as a research sample at this school is four classes. This experimental study shows that students' motivation to participate in activities has a positive effect. This is evident from the student learning outcomes in cognitively understanding the theories and terms of the maritime field. Prevalence and Factors Associated with Tobacco Use among High School Students.

Tobacco use is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Tobacco use among school-level students is a growing a public health problem in Nepal. A number of factors may be associated with tobacco use, but there is lack of literature showcasing an in-depth understanding of the growing prevalence of tobacco use in the Nepalese context. Therefore, our study aims to determine the prevalence of tobacco use and examine the factors associated with tobacco use among high school students at public schools in Budhanilkantha municipality, Kathmandu, Nepal. A cross-sectional survey was conducted, and 378 students were selected for this study. The schools were selected randomly. Data collection was carried out using the self-administered questionnaires adapted from the World Health Organization used Global Youth Tobacco Survey and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention used Youth Tobacco Survey. Overall, 31.7% of the students ever consumed any tobacco products, and 20.1% were current tobacco users. One in five students started smoking when they were less than ten years of age. The proportion of students seeing at least one family member smoking and using smokeless tobacco was 52.1% and 47.1% respectively. Male and older students were significantly more likely to consume tobacco products than female and young students. This study showed that a significant proportion of school students had experienced tobacco use. Age and sex of the students were significantly associated with the status of current smoking and the use of smokeless tobacco.

Assessment of Aerobic Fitness Associated with Moderate Intensity Exercise

Sound health is considered a basic need of every individual. It allows a person to enjoy routine activities. Objective: To examine the impact of moderate intensity exercise on aerobic fitness. Methods: Participants of the study were voluntarily selected from the department of sports science and Physical Education, Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan, KPK, Pakistan. In addition, the participants of the study were categorized as; control group (CG =20) and experimental groups (EG-20). A self-made exercise protocol of twelve weeks was applied on the selected subjects and thus for the assessment of aerobic fitness, Harvard Step Test, developed by Brouha et al., (1943) was used. The collected data were tabulated and were analyzed by using appropriate statistical tools i.e. Percentage, Means, Standard Deviation, Paired Sample t-Test and ANOVA. Results: The study found significant difference were found between pre & post cardiovascular fitness of male subject i.e. t (9) = -21.433, sig. = .000 < a= .05. Similarly, significant difference was found between pre & post cardiovascular fitness of female subject i.e. t (9) = -25.249, sig = .000 < a= .05. According to the results of this research study, it may be recommended that the Physical education and exercise must be a necessary subject for all college, school and university level students or the student is necessary to take the subject of physical education and exercise for each year so that their cardiovascular fitness is maintained. Conclusions: The study concluded that moderate intensity exercise has significant impact on aerobic fitness of respondents.

Problems of Elementary School Level Students in Memorizing the Qur’an

This study aims to analyze the problems of elementary school-level students in memorizing the Qur’an. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, research data was taken through direct interviews with ten informants (principals, teachers, and students). All results of interviews and observations were then analyzed thematically with Miles and Huberman’s qualitative data analysis. Overall the results of the analysis showed that there were five problems of elementary school level students in memorizing the Qur’an including: i) lack of time to memorize, ii) lack of ability to read the Qur’an, iii) boredom in memorizing the Qur’an, iv) lack of encouragement from parents in memorizing the Qur’an, v) the influence of online games. The results of this study can be used as initial data for future researchers in examining different issues related to this problem and various other issues relevant to this context.

Teacher Misbehaviour and Its Impact on the Education of Students in Public Basic Schools: A Study of Teachers in the Tamale Metropolis

This study explores the causes, forms and effects of teacher misbehaviour on the educational progression of basic school level students in the Tamale Metropolis in the Northern Region of Ghana. The study employed the survey design and adopted a quantitative approach in analyzing the data. The findings revealed that absenteeism, drunkenness, sexual abuse, and drug abuse were forms of misbehaviour practised by some teachers in public basic schools in Tamale. Precipitating factors included poor living environment, inadequate salaries and teachers residing faraway from schools. Based on these findings, the research recommended that Ghana Education Service in the Tamale Metropolis should withdraw or sanction any teacher found to be engaging with the abuse of drugs and other substances. Headteachers of basic schools in the metropolis should be given more training on monitoring and effective observation of their teachers and on their relationship with the students, especially female students.

JOURNALISTIC CARICATURE TRAINING to FASILITATE YOUTH CREATIVITY

This community service activity was carried out to provide training to students on journalistic caricatures. The training was intended for senior high school level students considering that their age was youth or adolescent. Teenagers usually had a lot of creative ideas that need to be explored and expressed positively. They had feelings and or opinions about the conditions that occur. All was to be appreciated better so their activity couldn't damage and pollute the surrounding environment, such as painting the walls of public facilities. Social media feeds also need to be posted with more exciting and brilliant uploads when giving specific reactions to social, political, or economic phenomena. With this journalistic caricature training and competition, students were also expected to know about (mass) media content production. In this way, students as members of society were passive public who consume media content and learn how mass media content was produced/presented to the public.

Pengaruh Pengetahuan, Sikap, Dukungan Keluarga, Sarana Prasarana Dan Dukungan Guru Terhadap Kepatuhan Pola Hidup Sehat Bersih Di SMK SPP SNAKMA Muhammadiyah

Healthy school children or Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) in the school setting aims to cultivate PHBS for school children. The aim to be achieved in this research is to determine and analyze the behavior of school children regarding compliance with a clean and healthy lifestyle at SPP SNAKMA Muhammadiyah Vocational School. This type of research is a descriptive analytical survey with a cross sectional design. The research population was 132 high school level students. Sampling was taken using the total population method. Data analysis was carried out using univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis. Based on the results of the chi-square test, it is known that patient success influences knowledge, attitudes, family support, infrastructure and teacher support with a value of p = 0.000, meaning that there is an influence of knowledge, attitudes, family support, infrastructure and teacher support on adherence to a clean lifestyle. Healthy. From the results of the multivariate analysis, it is known that the most influential variable in this study is the family support variable with an OR value of 6.020. The research conclusion is that family support is the dominant factor influencing adherence to a clean and healthy lifestyle.
