Determine The Implications Of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 82 Of 2021 Funding For Islamic Boarding Schools

This research aims tothe Government's concern for Islamic boarding schools.This concern was identified by Presidential Regulation (PERPRES) Number 82 of 2021, which concerns the funding of Islamic boarding schools, Islamic boarding school endowment funds, and the prospects for Islamic boarding schools following the stipulation ofPERPRES No. 28 of 2021, as well as political aspects in the stipulation of the PERPRES. Consideringthat Islamic boarding schools are the oldest educational institutions in Indonesia, with their distinctive educational approach, they have also played a pivotal role in the Indonesian independence movement. They are an integral part of the Indonesian educational landscape, contributing to the production of high-quality educational outcomes. This paper draws upon a range of key literature on the subject, which has been selected, organized and categorized according to their suitability for the purposes of this study. The contents of the literature were subjected to a rigorous analysis in order to ensure their suitability as material for the completion of this paper. This explanation is characteristic of library research, which employs content analysis techniques. The findings of the research indicate that the primary functions of Islamic boarding schools are education, da'wah and community empowerment.The existence of political power to pass the Islamic Boarding School Law and the Islamic Boarding School Endowment Fund contained in PERPRES no. 28 of 2021 is a legal umbrella for Islamic boarding school institutions to receive funds from the APBN, APBD in the form of grants, as well as non-binding assistance from other parties.The implications of this government policy have a significant impact on Islamic boarding schools, which are tasked with improving the quality of education in these institutions. However, Islamic boarding schools must also navigate the challenges of maintaining their unique curriculum in the context of government regulations. The primary implications of the establishment of the PERPRES in question are the requirement to register Islamic boarding schools (legalizing Islamic boarding schools administratively) and changes to the curriculum used (the incorporation of non-religious knowledge).

The relationship of migration behavior with marital status and the number of children in the family

Based on the analysis of the database of the 30th round of the Russian Monitoring of the Economic Situation and Health of the Population (Russian Longitudinal Monitoring Survey – HSE) study in 2021, the relationship between marital status and the children number of men and women in reproductive age with their migration behavior is studied. Migrants are less likely to remain single and childless, but more likely to have three or more children than local natives. These differences are explained, so the author, by the fact that people who have independently changed their place of residence differ from people who live where they were born, more willing to face difficulties related both to living conditions adapting in a new place, and to creating, increasing and maintaining a family. The differences between migrants and natives are greater among men than women. In addition, data from a survey of both spouses in more than 1,200 families conducted by the Department of Family Sociology and Demography of the Faculty of Sociology of Lomonosov Moscow State University 2018–2019 study show that men whose parents had more than two children are much more likely to have three or more children themselves than women who grew up in the families of the same size. Therefore, demographic policy measures should be applied to increase the birth rate what can affect not only mothers, but fathers as well. It is necessary to take into account the data of sociological studies on the conditions necessary for the birth of children, according to both spouses, and not only women. Schools and other educational institutions should form an active life position among children, adolescents and young people, the ability to overcome difficulties, including those in family life necessary for the society to survive and develop.

Facilitators and barriers in interprofessional collaboration around physical activity on prescription-a focus group study in a Swedish school setting.

In Swedish school health services, local initiatives have been taken to use physical activity on prescription (PAP) to encourage physically inactive children to become more active. Previous research shows that interprofessional collaboration plays a crucial role in promoting physical activity in children, as well as in promoting health in schools. However, there is a lack of knowledge about PAP for children in the school setting, including how medical and educational staff can work together to encourage children who have been recommended PAP. Therefore, this study aims to explore the perceived facilitators and barriers concerning interprofessional collaboration regarding physical activity on prescription in the school setting, as viewed from the professionals' perspectives. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 21 professionals who work with the method in school settings. The data were analyzed using Reflexive Thematic Analysis. The results reveal both barriers and facilitators for interprofessional collaboration on PAP in the school setting, as perceived by professionals. Organizational and structural obstacles within school institutions hinder collaboration, while a shared commitment to PAP, characterized by consensus-building, acts as a facilitating factor. PAP for children in a school setting is still an unexplored area and further research is required.

Role Supervisor To Formation Competence Professional Teacher

Looking at the problematic conditions of a school institution in this millennial era, it can still be found that several teaching staff or teachers have problems and shortcomings in teaching activities in school institutions. This is related to a teaching method or system in the classroom and there are still many school institutions that still have low levels of human resources in teaching at these institutions. Of course, from this incident, a school institution requires supervisors to supervise teachers or develop guides, and motivate them so that the quality of teachers improves much better and makes them professional teaching staff. Thus, this research aims to answer questions regarding the role of supervisors in the formation of teachers' professional competence. This research uses qualitative research methods with a descriptive nature. The data collection used is documentation sourced from literature, articles, books, and other scientific papers that are relevant and related to the theme in the title. The data analysis technique is obtained through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Meanwhile, the research results explain as follows: 1) The role of supervisor is needed by teachers to improve the quality of human resources in teaching in school institutions. 2) A teacher's professional skills as a teacher influence students' teaching and learning activities so that they can master learning in depth. 3) supervisors have a significant role in forming teachers' professional competence in teaching in a school institution.

Application of Style Leadership Transformational in Islamic Education Institutions

This research aims to analyze the application of transformational leadership style in Islamic educational institutions. In the context of Islamic educational institutions, the application of this leadership style is expected to improve the quality of education, build a positive work culture, and encourage the holistic development of the potential of students and staff. This research aims to explore the importance of the role of transformational leadership in Islamic educational institutions and its impact on various aspects of operations and learning. The research uses a qualitative approach with this type of literature study research using data collection techniques using several literature studies such as books, scientific journals, and supporting documentation. The results of this research show that transformational leadership is critical in facing contemporary challenges and ensuring that Islamic educational institutions do not only focus on academic achievement but also on developing student character through Islamic values. There are many phenomena that researchers have found in several Islamic educational institutions, for example: many teachers resign every year, they lack motivation and awareness of their duties as teachers or carry out their duties only because of rewards or punishments, and a lack of trust and loyalty towards school institutions. By implementing this transformational leadership style, it provides several positive impacts, the role of the principal is a model, encouraging subordinate performance, harmonizing the work environment, empowering employees, acting based on a value system, continuously improving their abilities, and having the ability to overcome complex situations. So with this research, it is hoped that the results of this research will be that this transformational leadership style can be applied to Islamic educational institutions, that have not yet used this leadership style, especially institutions that have a large number of students, both private and state because the results show that the transformational leadership style is very effectively applied to educational institutions today.

Urgensi Perubahan Kurikulum K13 dengan Kurikulum Merdeka Serta Pengaruhnya di SDN 064037 Medan Tembung

Education is a very important factor for the development of a country. Education helps develop and improve skills and improves the quality of life and human dignity. To date, changes have been made to the curriculum. The curriculum is considered a plan developed to facilitate the teaching and learning process which is the responsibility of the school or educational institution and its teaching staff. (Yulia, 2023). Education in Indonesia has undergone curriculum changes 11 times. Starting from after independence until the latest in 2021-2022. This research aims to compare the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum and the Merdeka Curriculum at State Elementary School 064037 and understand the differences between the two in improving the quality of education. The method used is qualitative research with a content analysis and narrative analysis approach. In-depth content analysis is carried out on written and printed information from mass media to identify message characteristics objectively and systematically. Data was collected through interviews and reviewing controversial mass media news. The research results show that the Merdeka Curriculum, which has only been implemented in grades 1 and 4, gives students greater freedom in the use of knowledge, both inside and outside school, and encourages teacher and student creativity. In contrast, the 2013 Curriculum balances soft skills and hard skills in an integrative manner but still places educators as the main assessors of student abilities. Observations show that the Merdeka Curriculum encourages students to play an active role in learning, with educators acting as facilitators. This change in curriculum leads to a more student-centric approach, where students receive active feedback regarding their self-evaluation. These findings confirm that the Merdeka Curriculum promotes more independent and participatory learning compared to the 2013 Curriculum.

Comparative evaluation of selected concentrations of sodium hypochlorite on the outcome of endodontic therapy among Ghanaians.

Endodontic treatment is one of the main dental treatments to manage inflamed or infected root canal systems of teeth. The success of endodontic treatment principally depends on eradicating microorganisms in the root canal by chemo-mechanical debridement with irrigation solutions like sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl). NaOCl has been used in concentrations ranging from 0.5% to 5.25%. This study determined the antimicrobial effectiveness of selected concentrations (0.5%, 1.0%, 2.6%, and 5.2%) of NaOCl in endodontic treatment. The study sites were the University of Ghana Dental School (UGDS) and Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR). Sixty infected single-rooted single-canal teeth were used. Before (S1) and after (S2), root canal samples during the endodontic treatment with the selected concentrations of NaOCl were examined via anaerobic and aerobic cultures. The isolates were identified using Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization-Time Of Flight Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS). All S1 samples were positive for cultivable bacteria. Fifty-three (53) different microbial species belonging to 20 different microbial genera were isolated. Streptococcus viridans was the most frequently isolated microbe. There were zero isolates in the root canals irrigated with 2.6% and 5.2% NaOCl. Two teeth had isolates in the groups irrigated with the lower concentrations (0.5% and 1.0%) of NaOCl. The persistent bacteria were one species each of Streptococcus mitis and Streptococcus oralis, respectively. Root canal treatments using chemo-mechanical preparation with the selected concentrations (0.5%, 1.0%, 2.6%, and 5.2%) of NaOCl were effective in significantly reducing the microbial load, and for the 5.2% and 2.6% concentrations, in eliminating all the microorganisms.

COVID-19, mother-teachers and teen suicide-personality disorder: Exploring the synergies and readying for contingencies in Indigenous-Christian contexts

The emergence of COVID-19 affected all facets of life. Lockdown restrictions, introduced in various countries, meant the majority of people had to stay home in the interests of social distancing. Schools and other learning institutions in Zimbabwe and elsewhere were closed and the phenomenon of home-schooling was introduced to ensure that learners do not lag behind. Home-schooling meant that in addition to the parenting role, parents- in particular mothers, had to become teachers. The impact of this sudden change of roles on the mental health of mothers and teen suicide, a form of borderline personality disorder, is yet to be studied. Is the growing scourge of teen suicide in Zimbabwe a result of COVID-19 inspired home-schooling experiences? Data solicited through face-to-face interviews and documents analyses and analysed through the lens of family systems theory seem to suggest that family disruptions and most mothers’ terrible experience with home-schooling was in part responsible for children’s (learners’) suicide ideation. To this end, we suggest that when teen education and child development catastrophe in the mould of COVID-19 occurs, manuals and toolkits on home-schooling should be developed to guide parents and children.

Prıncıpal Leadershıp And Teacher Performance On Student Success

The determinants of student achievement in schools are widely studied, including factors at school. Research on principal leadership, teacher performance, and student success has been carried out by many other researchers with varied results. This study aims to explain these two factors on student achievement based on teacher and student assessments. The research method used is quantitative through survey techniques. Statistical analysis used is non-parametric statistic Mean-Withney test. This research compared perceptions of teachers and students, male and female, from two school institutions. The comparison results show that both teachers and students agree that the principal has an effect on student achievement (U = 364,000; p = 0.229). In addition, teachers and students agreed that teacher support affected student achievement (U = 369,000; p = 0.266). These results indicate that both students and teachers see a relationship between the leadership role of school principals and teacher performance with student success. These findings can contribute to the development of psychology and education.

Peningkatan Kemandirian Santri Lintang Songo Bantul dan Upaya Pelestarian Warisan Islam Nusantara Melalui Produksi Kaos Arab Pegon

The Lintang Songo Bantul Islamic Boarding School is one of the Islamic boarding school institutions that emphasizes aspects of entrepreneurial independence for its students. This community service is carried out to increase the independence aspect of the students through the production of t-shirts with Arabic Pegon inscriptions. This activity was chosen because previously the students had been equipped with expertise in the field of convection, but there were no specific specifications that would be developed by the students. The production of Arab Pegon t-shirts is an effective breakthrough because 1. The students have been equipped with expertise in the field of convection; 2. T-shirts are a convection product that can be accepted by all ages and groups; 3. Pegon Arabic script is a characteristic of Islamic boarding school products as well as an effort to maintain the Islamic heritage of the archipelago. The stages of activities carried out in community service are: 1. Workshop on writing Pegon Arabic script; 2. Entrepreneurial motivation and business analysis in the t-shirt sector; 3. Training on Arab Pegon t-shirt design and content; 4. Theory and practice of Arab Pegon t-shirt screen printing. The results of the implementation of the service are: 1. Based on the results of the pre-test and post-test, it shows that there is an increase in the students' ability to write and read the Pegon Arabic script; 2. The students understand the ins and outs of the t-shirt business; 3. Creation of several t-shirt designs and content; Students can independently apply screen printing techniques on t-shirts with special designs bearing the Arabic Pegon script

Audio Visual Material for Safety Briefing Learning for Students in School Laboratories

This study aims to explore the perceptions of students and teachers regarding the effectiveness of audio-visual teaching materials in enhancing the understanding of occupational health and safety in school laboratories. The study employs a qualitative approach, utilizing descriptive methods to gather and analyze data. The research was carried out at Al-Ittihad Cianjur Vocational School, a technical and vocational education institution. The informants for this research were the Head of the Laboratory Program, the Person in Charge of the Laboratory, the School Principal, 7 teachers who taught in the laboratory, and 100 students. Data were collected through various techniques, including observations, document analysis, interviews, and focus group discussions (FGDs). To determine the level of reliability or trustworthiness of data, this research uses credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The data analysis technique uses qualitative data which includes stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The research results concluded that the provision of audio-visual teaching materials in the form of videos was very good and had a positive impact on learning. The students have quite good attitudes when carrying out learning activities, especially regarding their work safety in the laboratory. These findings also provide awareness about the importance of increasing digital competence so that teachers can be more creative and innovative in creating learning resources.

Assessing Academic Writing Challenges facing Undergraduate Students at Teofilo Kisanji University in Mbeya Region, Tanzania

This paper investigated the academic writing challenges facing undergraduate students at Teofilo Kisanji University (TEKU) in Mbeya Region. This study used Qualitative research approach and the interpretivist paradigm. Data were collected through semi-structured open ended interview and documentary analysis methods. Data were analyzed through content analysis method to obtain themes. Twenty participants formed a sample for research in the following categories educational officers, lecturers, teachers, and undergraduate students. Findings revealed that undergraduate students mostly fail to write academic papers at higher learning institutions despite having good teachers at the university. It was found that educational institutions in Ordinary and Advanced Secondary Schools failed to provide students with good basis for academic writing due to various factors, such as incompetent teachers, inadequate working environments, improper education qualifications, lack of creativity of teachers, lack of knowledge on the use of technology and the dilemma in academic instructional language. The study found that most undergraduate students failed to write academically due to poor foundation from lower levels of education. It was therefore recommended that, strengthening academic writing for students in lower-level institutions the government should review the educational curriculum to focus entirely on competence-based teaching methods.

Korelasi Mengajar Variatif Guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen terhadap Prestasi Belajar Siswa SMP BOPKRI Wonosari, Yogyakarta

One of the factors that influences student achievement is the teacher's way of teaching. Teaching methods are part of pedagogical competence which includes the quality of teacher learning which determines student understanding. Teachers who are varied in teaching are also teachers who have the openness to want to learn about the facilities and infrastructure that exist in a school institution to support the ongoing learning process. This research uses a descriptive method approach with the aim of obtaining certainty about the results of the relationship between teacher teaching methods and student learning achievement (N= 46 respondents). The results of the research show that the t test result (r count) is 0.628, which if the r table is 0.291, then the t test result > t table (0.628 > 0.291) for the number of respondents (N= 46). Based on the correlation coefficient in the criteria above, it can be stated that there is a relationship between the Variative Teaching Correlation variable for Christian Religious Education Teachers (X) and Student Learning Achievement (Y) at BOPKRI Wonosari Middle School of 0.628, which is classified as high correlation

"Driving the Ship" or Laying Buoys: Teachers' Use of Metaphor for Meaning-Making with Storylines.

Science curricula require new conceptualizations of how teachers relate to their materials. In this study of teacher learning, we analyze an experienced group of practicing Storylines teachers' use of metaphor to describe the roles and responsibilities of students and teachers in curriculum enactment. We found that every metaphor that teachers used to describe the uses of Storylines curriculum entailed a sort of wayfinding: a destination, a timeframe, a place, a journey, or the students' or teachers' respective position in that pursuit. These findings continue to indicate the usefulness of metaphor in foregrounding the central role that students play in NGSS-aligned instruction/materials, as well as the institutional forces that shape how curriculum materials get enacted inside the classroom. This study builds and contributes to current scholarship that aims to support teachers in reconceptualizing their role, relationship to students, and the institution of schooling, in the context of constructivist curricula.

Comparative Study of Social Entrepreneurship Management for School Sustainability

Catholic private schools continue to make improvements, both in governance and learning innovation. Education service providers are encouraged to innovate to be able to face government policies and free market competition. One of them is through social entrepreneurship because social entrepreneurship is slowly entering the education system. Social entrepreneurship, with its mission-driven focus on creating value and positive environmental impact, supports the sustainability of the institution. By implementing social entrepreneurship in the management of school institutions, education plays a role in overcoming social and environmental problems. This study aims to analyze social entrepreneurship management for school sustainability, taking the objects of Sint Antonius Junior High School East Jakarta and Sang Timur Junior High School Karang Tengah. This qualitative research uses observation methods, in-depth interviews using snowball techniques, and forum group discussion on 165 informants. The research aspects are social entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship strategy, social entrepreneurship management, the impact of implementing social entrepreneurship management, and the linkage of social entrepreneurship management with ISO 26000 and SDGs no. 4 and 12. The findings show that both schools have implemented social entrepreneurship, which needs to be improved for school sustainability. This study provides recommendations for education providers on whether they should develop social entrepreneurship management for school sustainability. Institutions need to build a comprehensive social entrepreneurship management system that is strengthened with a focus on social entrepreneurship and support of social entrepreneurship processes.

Fostering Islamic Education among Primary School Learners using i-FIKR IBADAH

The i-FIKR IBADAH innovation is inspired by a fun learning approach. The aim is to diminish the problem regarding the issue of lack of learners’ interest in learning Islamic Education in school institutions. This innovation is designed by focusing on stimuli development in learners' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects by learning through play, specifically by using sets of puzzle cards that involve problem-solving activities. The i-FIKR IBADAH is an initiative to involve the learners with the simulated and interesting classrooms in a way to enhances learners’ interest in learning Islamic Education. A qualitative methodology was conducted by interviewing twelve learners and one teacher as an education practitioner to gauge their responses to the innovation. The collected data was analyzed using a thematic approach in the Atlas TI package. The finding demonstrated that the i-FIKR IBADAH innovation is effective in increasing learners’ understanding and interest in Islamic Education primary education institutions. Generally, by learning through play the i-FIKR IBADAH innovation is an inspiration for a better education by fostering learners’ understanding and discernment of Islamic values in teaching and learning strategies that involve cognitive, affective, and psychomotor.

Effects of Gender Stereotypes on Career Aspirations in Adolescents in Kenya

Purpose: The aim of the study was to analyze the effects of gender stereotypes on career aspirations in adolescents in Kenya. Methodology: This study adopted a desk methodology. A desk study research design is commonly known as secondary data collection. This is basically collecting data from existing resources preferably because of its low cost advantage as compared to a field research. Our current study looked into already published studies and reports as the data was easily accessed through online journals and libraries. Findings: A study in Kenya found that gender stereotypes strongly shape adolescents' career aspirations. Boys lean towards traditionally masculine careers like engineering, while girls are inclined towards feminine roles like nursing. Societal and familial pressures also limit career choices based on gender norms. This highlights the importance of interventions to challenge stereotypes and promote gender equality in education and career opportunities. Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: Social cognitive career theory (SCCT), social role theory & intersectionality theory may be used to anchor future studies on effects of gender stereotypes on career aspirations in adolescents in Kenya. Schools and educational institutions should implement gender-sensitive career counseling programs that challenge traditional gender stereotypes and promote diverse career options for both boys and girls. Policymakers should develop and implement inclusive education policies that promote gender equality and challenge gender stereotypes within the educational system.

SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Experience at an Academic Medical Examiner's Office.

The coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has resulted in a great deal of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Since most deaths related to COVID-19 are currently considered natural, and they tend to occur following a clinically recognized illness, many medical examiner/coroner offices within the United States do not take jurisdiction over the majority of COVID-19 deaths. In this review, we present the experience of a medium-sized medical examiner's office affiliated with an academic medical school institution, over the first 15 months of the COVID-19 pandemic. Compared to a 15-month period that immediately preceded the pandemic, our office experienced a significant increase in the total number of reported deaths, scene investigations, full autopsies, natural deaths, accidents, homicides, and drug-related deaths, but a decrease in the number of suicides. Overall, our office performed 5 autopsies during the study period where COVID-19 was considered the primary cause of death, 4 cases where COVID-19 was considered a contributory cause of death, and 28 cases where COVID-19 testing was positive, but COVID-19 was not contributory to death. The COVID-19 pandemic was accompanied by a sizeable increase in work volume within our academic medical examiner's office. Although this increased workload was not related to a large number of COVID-19-related deaths investigated by the office, there were numerous areas of increased workload that were likely secondarily related to the conditions associated with the pandemic.
