Sc., 1974) and in Austin, Texas (Ph.D. in Physics, 1979). He was a Richard Chace Tolman Fellow at the California Institute of Technology and a J. Robert Oppenheimer Fellow at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, where he presently leads the Theoretical Astrophysics Group. A Foreign Associate of the Cosmology Program of the Canadian Institute of Advanced Research, he is also a member of external faculty of the Santa Fe Institute, where he directs the Complexity, Entropy, and the Physics of Information Network. His research interests include cosmology, relativistic astrophysics, foundations of statistical and of quantum physics and the physics of information. He has published on these subjects in Physical Review, Nature, Astrophysical Journal, Physical Review Letters, Physics Today, and elsewhere. Among the books he has edited are Complexity, Entropy, and the Physics of Information (Addison-Wesley, 1990) and (co-edited with John Archibald Wheeler) Quantum Theory and Measurement (Princeton, 1983).Search for more papers by this author Wojciech Hubert Zurek, Wojciech Hubert Zurek Wojciech Hubert Zurek was educated in Krakow in his native Poland (M.
