AbstractCo2(CO)3 is readily reduced by the three divalent Sm complexes (I), (IV), and (VI) to form products which contain Co(CO); species.
Synthesis and characterization of the samarium-cobalt complexes (C5Me5)2(THF) SmCo(CO)4 and [SmI2(THF)5][Co(CO)4]: x-ray crystal structure of a seven-coordinate samarium(III) cation complex
Alloys of Sm 1− x Sc x S show limited miscibility in the composition range x < 0.40. Lattice parameter measurements of those alloys that are formed suggest that the divalent configuration for the samarium cation is maintained in this range.
