In this work, the hot rolling process of 17 vol% SiCp/2009Al composite was simulated using the fully coupled thermal stress analysis in Abaqus/Explicit. The effect of technological parameters on the temperature, equivalent strain rate and rolling force of the rolled plate was investigated. The simulation results indicate that the reduction, rolling speed and rolling temperature have a significant effect on the temperature field except for friction coefficient. In addition, the reduction, rolling speed and friction coefficient have obvious influences on equivalent strain rate, but the initial rolling temperature has little effect on the equivalent strain rate. The rolling force increases with the increase of the reduction and friction coefficient, while it decreases with the increase of the rolling speed and rolling temperature. The conclusions can provide a reasonable theoretical reference for 17 vol% SiCp/2009Al composite rolling.
