Descriptive, qualitative approach aims to understand the perception of nursing professionals about the risks for hypertension from the various demands of their daily work. Its relevance is legitimized both the clinical point of view, social, and management of people in the professional world of nursing, for reflections about the possible prevention of this disease and / or complications there of. The same was done in a coronary care unit (CCU) of Cuiabá-MT, which data collection occurred through semi-structured interviews conducted with fourteen (14) nurses, and data analysis was performed based on the method thematic analysis. We believe that the SAH has visible aspects, however, the invisible predominate when considering the perception and attitude of each professional despite the risks they may face the face of this potential possibility of becoming hypertensive. The invisibility of things becomes visible when we allow ourselves to go beyond appearance, and plunged in the meanings that permeate our existence, as part of this dynamic world we build from our perceptions and meanings attributed to it. The invisibility of hypertension is evident from the meaning that gives the same hypertensive, hence changing the attitudes and lifestyles, the health professional should seek to understand and realize this invisibility when implementing care within the primary, secondary and tertiary health actions.
