Rural Revitalization and Industrial Tourism Development Research—Taking the Liquor Industry in Renhuai City as an Example

In recent years, industrial tourism has become a unique and beautiful landscape in the tourism industry. At present, the relevant conditions for the development of industrial tourism are not mature enough to meet the needs of the tourism market, therefore, accelerating the development of industrial tourism has become an urgent problem to be solved. To solve those problems, it is necessary to combine the overall background of revitalization of rural areas. We can start from developing industrial tourism industry, cultivating talents for ecological construction, organizing construction, etc. Improving and accelerating the development and improvement of industrial tourism according to the actual situations, and finally we will promote sustainable development of industrial tourism.

Rola architektury miejskiej w budowaniu tożsamości mieszkańców miast

Teza. Przedmiotem artykułu była analiza transformacji tożsamości miejskiej w oparciu o architekturę i tkankę miejską. Teza autorki zakładała, że architektura odgrywa rolę w budowaniu miejskiej tożsamości, co zaprezentowano na przykładzie dwóch polskich miast. Wraz z transformacją przestrzeni miejskiej następuje zmiana postrzegania miast, nie tylko przez mieszkańców, lecz także na arenie narodowej i międzynarodowej. Ważną role pełnią nowo powstające instytucje o charakterze edukacyjnym i historycznym, takie jak Europejskie Centrum Solidarności czy Muzeum Śląskie.
 Omówione koncepcje. W pracy wykorzystano teorie modyfikacji oraz nawarstwienia stosowane przez Ewę Rewers w analizie tożsamości miejskiej. W badaniach powołano się także na rolę ideologii w kreowaniu i projektowaniu miast. Analizie poddano aplikacje, jakie zostały zgłoszone przez miasta w konkursie na Europejską Stolicę Kultury.
 Wyniki i wnioski. Transformacja i rola architektury odgrywa znaczącą rolę w budowaniu tożsamości miejskiej. Dodatkowo miasta poprzez projektowane instytucje podkreślają swoją rolę w budowaniu polskiej historii (instytucje muzealne) oraz walczą z negatywną stereotypizacją (rewitalizacja opuszczonych zakładów przemysłowych). Istotną rolę odgrywa także rewitalizacja obszarów przemysłowych, która pozwala na stworzenie mostu między historycznymi oraz współczesnymi przestrzeniami miejskimi.
 Oryginalność/wartość poznawcza podejścia. Temat artykułu łączy w sobie analizy z pogranicza urbanistyki, socjologii, architektury i sztuk wizualnych. Podejście humanistyczno-techniczne pozwala na głębszą analizę tematu tożsamości miejskiej oraz potraktowanie miasta jako przedmiotu nauki, a nie tylko tła dla toczącego się w mieście życia codziennego.

Nesting patterns among Neotropical species assemblages: can reserves in urban areas be failing to protect anurans?

Nestedness among species assemblages implies that sites of lower species richness are subsets of richer sites in a regional species pool. This nestedness is a reflection of a non-random process of species loss as a consequence of factors that promote the disaggregation of assemblages. The impoverishment of assemblage diversity is more often observed in fragmented landscapes. This non-random process has important implications for conservation. We recorded 95 species of anurans across 22 protected areas, of which 11 sites were in an urban matrix and 11 were in a non-urban matrix. We found that sites in the urban matrix had lower richness and high values of nestedness with no spatial autocorrelation among geographic distances and species composition. Thus, species were non-randomly distributed across the landscape and a nested pattern was documented from non-urban matrix sites to urban matrix sites. The impoverishment of assemblages toward the urban matrix sites may suggest that protected areas in an urban matrix are less suitable for anuran conservation than those in a non-urban matrix sites. Both the ecological revitalization of protected areas in urban matrix and protection of non-urban forested sites are needed for the conservation of Neotropical anurans.

Rewitalizacja jako element polityki równoważenia rozwoju funkcjonalno-przestrzennego

Transformacja społeczno-gospodarcza w Polsce, w ciągu ostatnich dekad, spowodowała wiele różnorodnych zjawisk, w tym także na płaszczyźnie rozwoju funkcjonalno-przestrzennego. Procesy rewaloryzacji, modernizacji, renowacji budynków mieszkalnych i obiektów budowlanych, a także rewitalizacji obszarów funkcjonalnych pełnią istotną rolę w kształtowaniu polityki zrównoważonego rozwoju miast oraz gmin. Przywracanie dawnych wartości estetycznych, kulturowych, a także materialnych obiektów oraz całych zespołów budynków, układów urbanistycznych i ruralistycznych wystąpiło w kraju, ze szczególną atencją, na początku lat dziewięćdziesiątych XX wieku. Procesy te odgrywają znaczącą rolę, nie tylko w przywracaniu świetności dawnych obiektów i założeń urbanistycznych, ale także w kształtowaniu świadomości lokalnych społeczności, dotyczącej wartości środowiska materialnego minionych lat, w tym również z lat 60 i 70 XX wieku. Artykuł porusza zagadnienia związane z procesem rewitalizacji mającymi wpływ na kształtowania równoważenie rozwoju terenów zurbanizowanych. Podkreślić należy, że dla ww. działań istotne jest wskazanie kierunków komunikacji społecznej oraz zakresu współodpowiedzialności za program rewitalizacji samorządów i lokalnych społeczności.

Revitalización de centros urbanos desde la perspectiva del programa Main Street en Barrios Altos

El presente documento busca dar a conocer algunos estudios que desarrollan la importancia de los actores sociales como gestores de la conservación del patrimonio arquitectónico, en especial aquellos que se dedican al comercio tradicional. En ese marco los comerciantes locales tradicionales son los actores más interesados en la revitalización de los centros históricos. Muchas instituciones, tanto públicas como privadas, incentivan actualmente políticas de desarrollo para la revitalización de centros urbanos, como es el caso de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Educación, la Ciencia y la Cultura (UNESCO). En el presente trabajo busca exponer la revitalización “desde adentro” de Barrios Altos. Con ese objetivo, se explica la experiencia norteamericana desde el programa llamado Main Street, que desde inicios de los años 80 se viene desarrollando exitosamente en pequeñas y medianas localidades de los Estados Unidos. Este programa se enfoca en la revitalización del área comercial ubicada principalmente alrededor de la calle principal (Main Street); de ahí el nombre. Desde esta perspectiva, la investigación busca aterrizar este programa en una zona de Barrios Altos, específicamente en el ambiente urbano monumental de Cinco Esquinas, uno de los lugares más representativos donde todavía tiene lugar un comercio local tradicional y existe arquitectura patrimonial a conservar.

Revitalization of urban areas on the basis of industrial parks

The issues of revitalization of urban areas on the basis of industrial parks at the present stage are considered in this paper. The development of a new service industry of territorial development - industrial parks – has started in Russia less than 10 years ago and gradually acquires a systemic character. The issues of revitalization of urban areas are extremely relevant for many Russian cities. In the conditions of the necessity to search for new drivers for the economic growth of cities, to improve the quality of the urban environment, to increase the efficiency of the use of urban areas, an important task of finding and elaborating of innovation models for the development of industrial zones arises. A rich experience of reforming such areas has been accumulated in the world practice.

Rewitalizacja wsi dla rozwoju turystyki na przykładzie województwa lubelskiego = Rural revitalization for the development of tourism on the example of the Lubelskie Voivodeship

Tourism is one of the most dynamically developing branches of the economy in the world. In Poland, such phenomenon is particularly observed in cities and environmentally attractive areas. Despite its richness and diversity, historical and cultural potential of the Polish rural areas is relatively weakly considered in the development of tourism. Meanwhile, tourism offers a chance for the development of rural areas and to solve their contemporary problems. Development of the tourist function is however conditioned by adjustment of rural areas to the purposes of tourism in the scope of revitalization processes. The Lubelskie Voivodeship is characterized by considerable prevalence of rural areas and occurrence of all typical associated issues, intensified by the region’s peripheral character. Such location, however, can prove to be an asset in tourism development. Cultural values combined with weakly transformed natural environment provide for considerable potential of the area. Conducting revitalization of rural areas towards the development of tourism largely depends on the possibilities of obtaining EU financial support. Since Poland’s accession to the EU, i.e. 2004, beneficiaries from rural areas of the Lubelskie Voivodeship have implemented projects of more than 1.5 billion PLN. In the new financial perspective for the years 2014-2020, rural communes of the Lubelskie Voivodship have submitted 48 applications for co-financing revitalization measures, corresponding to 25% of communes. Thus, revitalization measures in rural areas are still not broadly implemented. This fact is confirmed by the survey performed by the Authors. The study also showed that measures for tourism development are not of priority importance, but rather supplementary to revitalization projects. The planned undertakings usually have the nature of single investment projects, particularly related to tourist and recreation infrastructure. The contribution of original, interesting projects aimed at creating tourist offer based on local tradition and culture is marginal. A negative phenomenon is also lack of strategic and complex measures aimed at tourism development. These would enhance stipulating investment in the tourist base and products, along with educational and support measures for the local community (i.e. residents’ inclusion in tourist entrepreneurship). These findings suggest that next to financial support, the main need of the rural environment in terms of activating revitalization processes in terms of tourism development is extensive education and conceptual support.

Study on the Development of Rural E-Commerce against the Backdrop of Rural Revitalization

Under the trend of “Internet+”, the analysis of the development of rural e-commerce will reveal some of its deficiencies such as a single booster, the lack of standards of the products, the difficulties of building the local logistics system, as well as the lack of effective distribution stations. The paper will dis-cuss the current development situation of rural e-commerce, especially the bot-tlenecks in the development process, and will propose a “Four-Step” strategy to break the deadlock from the perspective of rural revitalization. Those steps are as follows: firstly, improve the traceability system of product quality to boost consumer confidence; secondly, give play to comparative advantages and create regional agricultural brands with distinguishing features; thirdly, take the big data center of rural e-commerce as the fulcrum to lever the inventory of agricultural products; lastly, bring about the innovation and upgrading of related industries as well as industrial transformation and reconstruction to further promote the revitalization of rural areas.

Unutrašnji izazovi održivog razvoja ruralnih područja Republike Srbije

This paper aims to point to the key internal challenges of rural development in the Republic of Serbia, which are persistent and inextricably linked in the process of rural economic development. The paper analyzes the state of affairs in rural areas of the Republic of Serbia, underlines the necessity of solving a whole host of problems, points to favourable courses of action of sustainable rural development and emphasizes the role of institutional support along the process. It is concluded that a comprehensive and steady approach to the revitalization and development of rural areas in the Republic of Serbia must be taken, which corresponds with all internal challenges characteristic of modern development, but does not disregard numerous external challenges that are inevitable and largely determine not only internal factors, but also future directions in the development of rural economy and society of the Republic of Serbia.

Limitations and opportunities for funding agriculture and rural development in the Republic of Serbia

Funding is one of the most important issues of agriculture and rural development of the Republic of Serbia, because insufficient financial resources allocated to this sector of the country’s economy are considered the key limitation for better valorization of agricultural resources and the revitalization of rural areas. Agribusiness and rural development have a major socio-economic importance for the Republic of Serbia, which is supported by a number of strategic documents, development indicators and scientific and expert analysis implemented in the country and at a global level; therefore, the aim of this study is to determine whether it is necessary and possible to improve the funding of agricultural development and rural economy of the Republic of Serbia, in current conditions. The survey results indicate potential sources, i.e., the possible ways of funding agriculture and non-agricultural activities in the rural areas of the Republic of Serbia.

FUNCTIONAL AND SPATIAL TRANSFORMATIONS OF TOWNS IN A TRADITIONAL SOCIO-ECONOMIC REGION – A THEORETICAL APPROACH

Traditional socio-economic regions established in the so-called second Kondratiev cycle (N.D. Kondratiev (1925)) reflect a stage of dominance of mining and metallurgical industry in economy. The Katowice conurbation is an example of such a region in Central Europe. The goal of the article is to identify the most important functional-spatial transformations, especially the ones that took place after the political and economic transformation. Attention was focused mainly on the problems of revitalization of post-industrial areas, development of housing within industrial centres and suburbanization tendencies.

Analysis of conditions and the concept of multidirectional revitalization of the dolomite quarry in Siewierz

The development of mining of rock raw materials in Poland has significantly contributed to economic growth and the quality of life of local communities. However, mining activity, besides a number of positive effects, also implies broadly understood changes in the environment and the formation of brownfields. Reclamation and redevelopment of post-industrial areas, and especially post-mining areas, is currently a huge environmental and socio-economic challenge. Revitalization of post-mining areas is particularly important for small towns and municipalities, where mining was one of the main pillars of development and prosperity. An example of such a municipality is Siewierz in Silesian Voivodship. In the paper analysis the conditions have been conducted and the concept of revitalization of dolomite quarry Górnicze Zakłady Dolomitowe S.A. has been proposed. The AHP method has been used to analyse and select the optimal method of revitalization. As a result of the analysis, the concept of multidirectional revitalization with socially, economically and environmentally beneficial functions has been created, maximizing the potential of the quarry.

The Necessary Way for the Development of China’s Rural Areas in the New Era-Rural Revitalization Strategy

The Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party put forward the strategy of “rejuvenation of villages”. In the “two sessions”, the strategy was again emphasized that the implementation of the strategy for the revitalization of rural areas relates to whether or not the rural economy can recover from decline to full development. It is of great significance to build the “Chinese dream”. Therefore, it explores the ways to achieve full rejuvenation in rural areas and analyzes possible problems and solutions in the implementation of strategies.

Research on Rural Talent Resources Development against the Background of Rural Revitalization <br/>—Taking Yongning Township, Wanyuan City as an Example

The current paper has conducted an in-depth research to Yongning Township of Wanyuan City, a national-level poverty-stricken county in order to further know the prospects of talent revitalization in rural areas proposed during the 19th National Congress, to analyze the difficulties in its implementation, and to propose corresponding solutions to help the rural areas realize the human resources development. Through study, the problems in talents revitalization have been found by analyzing the current situation of talent resources and the requirement for talents in the area.

The Effect of Rural Guidance Plan on the Subjective Quality of Life among Rural Communities (Case Study: Fariman County)

Międzyodrze: an example of diverse economic and nature-related activities in the part of the Lower Odra Valley

Abstract Międzyodrze is an area in Lower Odra Valley, from the fork of the riverbed to Szczecin, with the islands between the Odra River and Lake Dąbie. In the past, it has served primarily as a waterway route and now serves a variety of economic and nature-related functions. This paper presents the historical and present role of Międzyodrze, taking into account the specific natural values of the Lower Odra Valley, hydrography, hydrology and soil conditions. In the area of Międzyodrze, there are basically three types of organic matter and the nature’s point of view, the area is rich in flora and fauna. The current stimulation to activity of Międzyodrze is to take account of the needs of the natural environment, tourism and recreation, while improving the hydrological and retention potential of the area. Exceptional natural values, complicated hydraulic system of canals, the complexity of hydrological phenomena and the specificity of soils make the selection of activities aimed at achieving the objectives of area revitalization requires comprehensive environmental and hydrological analyses as well as economic analyses. The paper outlined the range of difficulties encountered by this assessment.

THE UTILIZATION OF EU FUNDS IN THE YEARS 2007–2015 FOR THE PRESERVATION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE OF RURAL AREAS IN EASTERN POLAND

The article presents the problems of financing cultural heritage of rural areas from the European Union funds in the macroregion of Eastern Poland. It outlines the scale and structure of the use of the EU funds for projects relating to the protection and promotion of cultural heritage. It also describes the scale of regional differentiation in the field of the use of European Funds for the protection of cultural heritage in rural areas. The temporal range of the study included the years from 2007 to 2015. The analysis was conducted across the six types of projects distinguished according to their subject matter, that is to say the promotion of natural values, protection and valorization of natural heritage, other forms of support for the enhancement of tourism services, protection and preservation of cultural heritage, development of cultural infrastructure, other forms of support for the improvement of cultural services, as well as integrated projects for the revitalization of urban and rural areas. The analysis focused on four types of areas: rural areas, towns with county rights, voivodship towns and the area of the voivodship. The information used in this study was based on the data pertaining to the projects co-financed from the EU funds and stored in the National Information System (KSI SIMIK 07-13) as of 31 December 2016.

The conservation of the waterfront of Saida: A model for tourism and culture-led revitalization in valuable areas

This paper is a model for the Tourism and Culture-led Revitalization in valuable areas which makes special emphasize on revitalizing the waterfront of Saida. To revitalize valuable areas, countries are attempting to attract new activities; a key new activity has been tourism and associated culture activities. Strategies for tourism and culture-led revitalization have encouraged the exploitation of the area's historic legacy for tourist development. Such development has usually meant a partial or extensive restructuring of the area's economic base. Saida has been a major touristic city but it lost its regional importance because of lack of touristic and entertaining facilities. Therefore, in order to encourage the tourism in Saida and to fully exploit the sea which is the most important feature in the city, we suggest that there must be a new building complex to fulfill the above needs by making a new maritime portal and a 5 stars Hotel in order to activate the urban tourism. Moreover, it sheds light on the weak points of the Lebanese local tourism and it suggests a new solution to develop the official economical governmental income. It develops a methodology based on a specific site analysis working on the proposed urban tissue of Saida.
