Pembentukan Karakter Religius Melalui Pembiasaan Tahfidzul Qur'an Pada Siswa Kelas IV dan V (Studi Kasus di MIS Nurul Hikmah Sekura)

The purpose of this study is to reveal about: 1) The concept of forming religious character through the habituation of tahfidzul qur'an in grades IV and V at MIS Nurul Hikmah Sekura; 2) The process of forming religious character through the habituation of tahfidzul qur'an in grades IV and V at MIS Nurul Hikmah Sekura; and 3) The character that is formed through the habit of tahfidzul qur'an in class IV and V students at MIS Nurul Hikmah Sekura. This research uses a qualitative approach and a type of case study research. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The analysis technique used is data reduction, data display and data verification/conclusion. The results of the study show that: 1) The concept of forming religious character through habituation of tahfidzul qur'an in grades IV and V has fulfilled three concepts, namely: moral knowing, moral loving/feeling, and moral doing/acting. 2) The process of forming religious character through the habituation of tahfidzul qur'an in grades IV and V at MIS Nurul Hikmah Sekura goes through four stages, namely: the habituation stage, the stage of understanding or reasoning, the stage of application and the stage of reflection. 3) The characters formed by the habituation of tahfidzul qur'an in grades IV and V are: religious (values of worship), discipline, responsibility (values of trustworthiness), tabligh, respect for others, hard work (ruhul jihad), diligent (istiqomah) and likes to read.

Marie Poussepin's Influence on Nursing from Her Vocation of Service and Charity.

This work sought to describe the influence of Marie Poussepin on Nursing from her vocation of service and charity. Historical-hermeneutic study with participation by 15 Dominican Sisters of Charity in the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin from the city of Manizales and Bogotá, Colombia, who answered semi-structured interviews. The information was gathered and recontextualized via the open and axial coding system through ATLAS.ti9 software. During the interpretation procedure, copying, intensive reading, note taking, analysis, first epigraph of the report, coding, grouping, and determination of categories was made, conducting information triangulation with existing evidence. Three categories emerged: Responding to the call of Jesus through service to the community; Under the legacy of charity, respect for life and the dignity of human beings, and Caring for life as a foundation of nursing. The second category formulated the description that integrates the course of life and objectives of the institutions where the nuns interviewed work. The legacy by Marie Poussepin to nursing care has been manifested since the foundation of the work, influencing the disciplinary work through the vocational commitment of those who make up the congregation, imprinting a character of service and respect for others, in response to the love of God.

Intellectual humility and language attitudes: the case of Hebrew speakers’ views towards Arabic and multilingualism

ABSTRACT Intellectual humility (IH) remains a relatively novel concept, though past research indicates a relationship to open-mindedness, lower propensity towards political bias and amenability to engage with opposing viewpoints. Intellectual humility has shown mixed effects on foreign language learning (Moskowitz & Dewaele [2020]. The role of intellectual humility in foreign language enjoyment and foreign language classroom anxiety. Eurasian Journal of Applied Linguistics, 6, 521–541.), though it has not been explored in relation to language attitudes. The current study investigates connections between IH and language attitudes among Hebrew L1 speakers. Treating multilingualism and Arabic as separate variables, a Hebrew survey was administered, adapted from the Comprehensive Intellectual Humility Scale (CIHS) (Krumrei-Mancuso & Rouse [2016]. The development and validation of the comprehensive intellectual humility scale. Journal of Personality Assessment, 98(2), 209–221.) and a questionnaire on multilingualism (Tannenbaum et al. [2020]. Toward a new multilingual educational policy in Israel: Attitudes and perceptions of teachers and students. The Modern Language Journal, 104(3), 581–600.). Statistical analyses found that openness to revising one’s viewpoints predicted attitudes towards multilingualism, and respect for others’ viewpoints predicted attitudes towards Arabic. Qualitative data explored the charged topic of the status of Arabic in Israel, finding that responses contained themes of intellectual humility such as prosociality and respect for others’ viewpoints, lending support to the quantitative findings.

Arabic Teaching Efficacy Model (ATEM): A Language Teaching Model Design

This study investigates the role of self-efficacy (S-e) in teaching Arabic and proposes a model for teaching that encompasses teaching goals, materials, and strategies. The study draws on Bandura's scientific works and other studies that develop S-e theory. The model is developed based on the characteristics of the materials that promote the growth of S-e in students, using three different methods. The resulting Arabic Teaching Efficacy Model (ATEM) improves objective thinking, critical thinking, responsiveness, and student persistence through active mastery experiences, vicarious experiences, verbal persuasion from others, social recognition, and reinforcement of physiological and affective aspects. ATEM recommends themes such as Science and technology, What do you think?, I can speak arabic, I speak arabic every day, What is your experience?, Other people's experiences, and Respect for others as teaching materials. Additionally, ATEM suggests teaching strategies such as social modeling, social persuasion, additional feedback, and group work.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to explore the role of civic education to overcome the limitations of meritocracy in Korean society.
 Methods To this end, after analyzing the relevant literature on the characteristics and limitations of meritocracy, in relation to the meritocracy culture currently operating in Korean society and the problems of education it has caused, the promotion of social inequality, the destruction of individual morality, and the instrumentation of education center was explored. Based on this, the role of civic education to overcome the limitations of meritocracy was considered in relation to the cultivation of virtues that citizens should have.
 Results In Korean society, meritocracy has become a rational ideology required for fair competition, breaking away from family succession in the past. However, meritocracy has made people recognize that the differential distribution of rewards according to ability is reasonable, and has also influenced the spread of consciousness that regards individual abilities as purely the product of one’s own efforts. A strong belief in meritocracy is of little help in resolving social inequality and can harm relationships between people. In Korean society, meritocracy encourages savage competition and has an impact on undermining the essence of education.
 Conclusions By cultivating humility and solidarity, students can overcome the limitations of meritocracy and grow into desirable citizens who live with a greater sense of responsibility for the community. There is a need for civic education that leads students to cultivate a sense of solidarity based on the virtue of humility and a sense of respect for others.

The impact of socio-emotional learning (SEL) on academic evaluation in higher education

The implementation of social and emotional learning (SEL) strategies has been shown to foster cognitive development, boost student motivation and focus, improve teacher-student relationships, and enhance student confidence and achievement. To further promote engagement and social awareness in higher education, greater emphasis should be placed on addressing students' emotional needs in the classroom. By emphasizing respect for others, appreciation for diverse perspectives, and willingness to help those in need, SEL can enhance student motivation, academic achievement, and overall success in higher education. For many students, the transition to higher education can cause anxiety, stress, and a sense of isolation. Without the necessary social and emotional skills to navigate this new environment, students may struggle academically, socially, and emotionally. This is where social and emotional learning (SEL) can play a crucial role in helping students successfully transition to higher education. By developing SEL skills, individuals are better equipped to navigate life's challenges and opportunities, both in their personal and professional lives. The current study explores how students in higher education perceived their experiences related to assessment, performance, anxieties, insecurities, and self-management. The study aimed to gain a better understanding of how students perceive the higher education environment and how it impacts their motivation to learn and succeed.

Developing Student Moderation Attitudes through Self-Control-Based Class Management

The escalating prevalence of intolerance and radicalism within diverse student age cohorts has become a pronounced area of concern. This phenomenon is ostensibly linked to the suboptimal implementation of moderation education in educational institutions. Consequently, the primary objective of this investigation is to scrutinize the application of self-control-based classroom management in Islamic elementary schools as a means of cultivating moderation attitudes among students. The research was executed at an Islamic elementary school in East Java, Indonesia, employing a multifaceted approach encompassing observations, interviews, and documentation for data collection. The analytical framework of Miles and Huberman was adopted for data analysis, with data triangulation serving as a mechanism for ensuring data validity. The instructional strategy employed by the observed school in nurturing moderation attitudes via self-control-based classroom management comprises several pivotal activities. These include student grouping, discouraging the use of sarcasm within the madrasa environment, fostering group discussions, and incentivizing academic achievement. The design of these activities is strategically oriented towards prompting students to manifest self-control across their behavior, cognitive processes, and decision-making while upholding the core values of al-'adl, tawazun, and tasamuh. This research holds substantial significance in its contribution to the enhancement of students' behavioral acumen, cognitive capacities, and decision-making proficiencies. The overarching impact is realized through the instillation of respect for others, the eradication of discriminatory tendencies, and the cultivation of a culture of mutual affection among students.

Menelisik Sifat Teladan Rm Sosrokartono Dalam Upaya Menanamkan Sifat Budi Pekerti dan Gemar Belajar Pada Siswa Dalam Pembelajaran Sejarah

Sosrokartono is an Indonesian education figure known for his love and attention to education as well a s the moral and character development of students. One exemplary trait that can serve as a model from Sosrokartono is his patience and perseverance in learning. He always has the spirit to learn and deepen his knowledge throughout his life. This can inspire students to be more diligent in learning and not easily satisfied with their achievements. In addition, Sosrokartono is also known as a humble and polite figure, which can serve as an example for students to be friendly, respectful, and accepted in society. The example of Sosrokartono can motivate teachers and parents to be more concerned about the character development of children, so that students can be more active in exploring and learning from their environment. By emulating Sosrokartono’s traits such as patience, perseverance, humility, respect for others, and love of learning, it is hoped that students will develop good character and love for learning. Therefore, it is very important for teachers to introduce characters like Sosrokartono to students so that they can have a good role model in developing positive character and attitudes.

PEMBINAAN SIKAP TAWASUTH DAN TOLERANSI PADA SISWA SMK NEGERI 3 SALATIGA

This study has two objectives, namely: 1. To describe the development of tawasuth and tolerance attitudes in students; 2. To describe the implications of fostering tawasuth and tolerance attitudes in students at SMK Negeri 3 Salatiga. This research used descriptive qualitative research. The data sources obtained came from primary data sources, including observations and interviews with school principals, Islamic religious education teachers, and some students at SMK Negeri 3 Salatiga. Other data sources were obtained from secondary data sources through observation and photo documentation of SMK Negeri 3 Salatiga students. The results of this study indicate, first, that fostering an attitude of tawasuth and tolerance at SMK Negeri 3 Salatiga is carried out by monitoring students, teaching, habituating to do good, participating in extracurricular activities, providing insight to add to the foundation and basis of knowledge, introducing a systematic and logical way of thinking, and receiving direct instruction from the teacher. Second, the implications of fostering an attitude of tawasuth and tolerance at SMK Negeri 3 Salatiga are cultivating an attitude of respect for others, building a sense of togetherness, forming harmony and familiarity in the school environment, having a high social spirit, being accustomed to worship, and obeying rules.

Tindak Tutur Nasihat Bermuatan Nilai Integritas dalam Film Sepatu Dahlan

The speech act of advice as a type of directive speech act is important to study. It is because speech acts of advice can influence speech partners in making decisions, determining views, and taking attitudes. One communication that contains speech acts of advice is the communication in the film Shoes Dahlan. Therefore, this research was conducted with two main, namely, to describe the functions of speech acts of advice and the value of integrity contained in speech acts of advice in the film Shoes Dahlan. The method used to achieve the two research objectives is a qualitative method. The speech act of advice contains the inculcation of the value of integrity. The research data was taken from a source in the film Shoes Dahlan. Documentation techniques are used in collecting data in this study. Documentation is done by watching the six films carefully. This study found (1) there were five functions of speech acts of advice, namely the functions of motivating, strengthening, suggesting, reminding, and advising (2) there are six character values in the speech act of advice, namely hard work, discipline, respect for others, humility, responsibility, and patience.

‘Why is this hard, to have critical thinking?’ Exploring the factors affecting critical thinking with international higher education students

University students of all disciplines are expected to display critical thinking. Critical thinking may, however, be impeded by psychological and sociological factors such as: belief and confirmation biases, framing, social pressure to conform and poor assessment of probability and risk. These factors are rarely, if ever, thoroughly examined in isolation, outside the context of the students’ discipline. The aim of this study therefore was to ascertain whether students found that their critical thinking benefited from a better understanding of these factors. To this end, a series of workshops was designed along active learning principles which explored the human factors affecting critical thinking. These workshops were delivered to international students studying various disciplines at the University of Sheffield in the UK, and the participants were then interviewed. The resulting data was analysed using thematic analysis and code development. Participants reported as a result of these workshops an improved understanding of the critical thinking skills of questioning and analysing, using multiple perspectives and argument building; and new awareness of confirmation bias, the use of evidence and sources, framing, independent thinking and culture in relation to critical thinking. In particular, students from educational traditions that favour certainty and authority showed greater tolerance of ambiguity and willingness to judge for themselves. There was also evidence of development in critical dispositions relating to the self (such as self-awareness) and to other people (such as respect for others’ views) as well as criticality, that is, awareness of one’s role in society. This suggests that a better understanding of the factors that influence human thought processes develops students as critical thinkers and equips them to make a positive contribution to the world.

A clean and civil city: Local associations and the moral bordering of Parisian public space

For years, city officials in Paris have tried to reduce ‘incivility’ to maintain public order and security. While civility is being used by the city to enforce a respect for others through a respect for public space, it is also being used to claim moral authority and legitimacy by groups who already enjoy a privileged access to these spaces. Although some of these groups may seek to bring their neighbours into an imagined moral community through ‘awareness raising’, others attempt a revanchist approach to push the ‘uncivil’ and ‘undeserving’ further outside the borders of this community. This article argues that in combatting incivility and bad behaviour, local associations attempt to establish a spatial and moral community that legitimises their vision of appropriate consumption and use of public space and excludes already-marginalised publics from its borders.

What are the Attitudes of Medical Students at Jazan University Toward Professionalism?

We assessed the attitudes of Jazan University medical students toward professionalism and evaluated the associations of those attitudes with demographic factors. Seven hundred ninety-seven respondents (88.85% response rate) out of 898 students who were invited to this study (50.7% were men and 49.3% were women) were studied by their response to the Learner's Attitude of Medical Professionalism Scale (LAMPS) that assess their level of agreement with 28 items, each reflecting a single professionalism competency within the subscales of Altruism, Excellence, Duty/Accountability, Honor/Integrity, and Respect for Others. Of 797 respondents (88.85% response rate), 50.7% were men and 49.3% were women. Subscales with high agreement scores were Excellence (median, 21.0; range, 6-30) and Duty/Accountability (median, 21.0; range, 7-35). Subscales with slightly lower agreement scores were Respect for Others (median, 15.0; range, 5-25), Altruism (median, 15.0; range, 5-25), and Honor/Integrity (median, 12.0; range, 5-25). No sex differences were observed for most subscales; however, men gave higher agreement scores on the Excellence subscale, and compared with year 3 respondents (preclinical phase), year 6 respondents (clinical phase) gave higher agreement scores on the Excellence, Altruism, and Respect for Others subscales. Overall, medical students at Jazan University indicated high agreement with all attitudes to professionalism subscales on the LAMPS.

Sikap Toleransi Melalui Pembelajaran Multikultural Pada Siswa Sekolah Dasar

Multicultural education has been a part of the Indonesian education system since Ki Hajar Dewantara. This system can help eradicate discriminatory attitudes towards race, religion, ethnicity, culture, and language differences if properly implemented. However, intolerance remains a significant problem in various parts of Indonesia. Implementing multicultural education is hoped to instill a deep understanding of tolerance among students. This research employs a literature review methodology, which involves collecting and analyzing data from various library sources such as books, journals, and websites. The type of research used is qualitative research, which offers a more in-depth analysis of a narrower scope. The study concludes that tolerance is an attitude of appreciation and respect for others, and multicultural education emphasizes character education, particularly in promoting tolerance through multiculturalism-based learning. This approach can give students from diverse backgrounds a unique understanding and appreciation of one another.Keywords: Tolerance; intolerance; multicultural education; education system.

Rural Poverty in India - A Study of Socio-Economic Political Factors

Poverty refers to a condition where a person is unable to meet even the basic needs of life. The minimum basic requirement is food, clothing, housing, education, health services, transport, communication, etc. According to the survey conducted in 2011-2012 (planning commission). In India, in 2011-2012, the proportion of people living below the poverty line is calculated to be 25.07% in rural areas, 13.7% in urban areas and 21.9% in the country as a whole. The Human Development Report defines poverty as the denial of opportunities “to live long, healthy, creative lives and to enjoy a decent standard of living with freedom, dignity, self-respect and respect for others. Poverty remains constant at about 30 percent of the population in India's provinces. The appearance of rural poverty has recently decreased somewhat due to the migration from the countryside to the big city for a very long time, but in fact the situation is alarming. Poverty is an economic condition in which people lack or lack certain goods necessary for human life, such as cash and material goods. Thus, need is a multifaceted idea that includes economic, social and political components. India's development model has certainly benefited financial experts, but we are still bombarded when we see that nearly 213 million Indians are constantly hungry. Modern developments and ever-increasing swelling do not pay for them. This requires addressing the causes of rural poverty and the anti-aid agenda and why India remains a helpless nation.

Manajemen Pendidikan Karakter dalam Pembinaan Akhlak Mulia di SMP PLUS Al Masduqiah

Education is an awareness that is designed to support the learning environment and the learning process so that learners can actively develop their potential to have spiritual strength, noble character, and the necessary skills themselves, society, nation, and state. In education can not be separated what is called Character Education. According to Fenty Sulasty, there are 18 character values developed, including responsibility, religious, honest, tolerant, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, and democracy. Other values include love of peace, respect for others, love of the motherland, and the spirit of Honor. Researchers use qualitative research with a descriptive approach to explain the phenomena that are happening in SMP Plus Al Masduqiah, which then the information obtained is then interpreted and written in the form of words or descriptive based on facts obtained at the time of the research site. The results of the study were the management of Character Education in the guidance of noble morals in SMP Plus Al Masduqiah through planning and implementation. Implementation of character education in SMP Plus Al Masduqiah such as morning apples, exemplary, learning, control, evaluation. SMP Plus Al Masduqiah requires its students to follow the extracurricular Scout Movement in order to have a good attitude of discipline and integrity.

ENHANCING THE SOCIAL AND RELIGIOUS CHARACTER OF STUDENTS AT QURRATU A'YUN HIGH SCHOOL THROUGH EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Religious education in schools is expected to have a significant impact on the development of students' religious and social character so as to prevent them from immoral social behavior. This research tries to identify extracurricular activities that help improve the social and religious character of students. This research uses qualitative methodologies, with in-depth interviews providing as data collecting technique. The data were subsequently analysed utilising triangulation techniques by modifying existing theories. According to the findings of this study, the school offers an Islamic tarbiyah programme as an extracurricular activity from Saturday through Sunday. Every day, a programme called tawjihat murabbiyat is used to control Islamic tarbiyah activities. In addition to extracurricular activities, the improvement of students' religious and social character is accomplished by the incorporation of religious principles into subject matter and the entrenching of appropriate behaviour in school culture. Developing social character involves working on a variety of skills, including discipline, respect for others, serving both parents, tolerance, humility, and caring for others and the environment. Concerning the religious attitudes fostered by the program, such as the practise of congregational prayer, the wearing of the veil, and hostility towards Wahdah Islamiyah and Mutamayyiz Muslims.

Representation of Moral Values in Song of Madurese Children's Games

This research aims to obtain an objective description of the representation of moral values contained in the verses of Madurese children's game songs. The moral values include individual moral values, social moral values, and religious moral values. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. Madurese children's game songs became the data source of this research, while the data were taken from phrases or clauses in the Madurese children's game songs. Based on the results of this study, the author found three aspects of moral values of human life contained in the lyrics of Madurese children's game songs, namely human relationships with God (religious), human relationships with themselves (individual), and human relationships with other humans (social). In more detail, the relationship pattern consists of: Moral Values about the Individual which consists of, (1) the principle of honest living, (2) self-love, and (3) the spirit of hard work. Moral Values about Social consists of, (1) mutual cooperation attitude, (2) love and respect for others, and Moral Values about Religion which consists of, (1) the value of obedience in carrying out religious / God's provisions, (2) praiseworthy values, humble and spacious, and (3) the value of ripples of personal conscience.

Politeness Strategies in Directive Speech Act in The Greatest Showman (2017) Movie

Language as a means of communication always develops overtime. The value of politeness implied in the language. Furthermore, in interpreting the politeness value of a language, situational context has strong function to be considered. This cannot be separated from the speakers’ ways to express language with the politeness standard so that impact the listener's tendency to interpret the politeness value without seeing the situation affects it. The research purpose is to find out the types of politeness strategies and situational context that affects it in directive speech act in the Greatest Showman movie script. The researcher use qualitative method. The result was the five politeness strategies namely bald on record 42 data (29 %), positive politeness 61 (42 %), negative politeness 34 data (23 %), and bald off record 8 (6 %) where in each of these politeness strategies the component of speech appears as a situational context that influences. Additionally, the result show that the movie illustrates The Greatest showman movie as a motivational contains more positive politeness strategy which relates to the movie background that occurred in 19th century society, it is still valuable to uphold family values and respect for others according to their social class.
