NILAI MORAL TRI HITA KARANA DALAM ALBUM “KERAMAT” CIPTAAN H. RHOMA IRAMA

The purpose of this study is to characterize Tri Hita Karana's moral principles as they appear in the H. Rhoma Irama album "Keramat". This study use content analysis as a qualitative tool. The findings of this study demonstrate that there are five moral values: (1) the value of honesty; (2) the value of discipline; (3) the value of caring for others and paying attention to them; (4) the value of respecting others; and (5) the value of fairness. Therefore, it may be claimed that one of the moral precepts present in the lyrics of many sacred songs is the moral precept of respect for other people. Suggestions (1) Teachers and music enthusiasts can learn a lot from this about overcoming obstacles in life. In addition, this holy song by H. Rhoma Irama has significant queries for all of us since it highlights how crucial it is for kids to obey their parents, particularly the mother who gave birth, reared, and took care of us all. The researcher proposes that listeners and admirers of this song should incorporate the five moral principles into their daily lives so that they can safeguard others no matter where they are; (3) the purpose of this research is to encourage readers to delve deeper into other albums to find more inspiration. It also serves as a resource for other scholars who bring up pertinent study topics.

The Role of Pancasila Education and Citizenship Subject Teachers in Strengthening Pancasila Democratic Values for High School Students

The subject of Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) is the most strategic subject to strengthen students' democratic attitudes because it is closely related to habits or customs that need to be improved in everyday life so that it is easier to practice. The role of Civics teachers is needed to direct students to get maximum teaching and be able to practice democratic values. This article aims to find out the meaning of Pancasila and Citizenship Education, Pancasila democracy, and analyze the role of teachers in strengthening democratic values in high school students. The literature study method with a literature review approach was applied by the author in preparing the article. Data collection techniques use documentation studies by collecting documents that are in accordance with the research topic. The results of the study explained that Pancasila and Citizenship Education is a subject that is closely related to lessons that relate to human relations in a country, whether social, economic, or political relations. Pancasila democracy is a system of government that is run in Indonesia based on the values contained in Pancasila itself. The results of the analysis of the role of Civics teachers in high school students show that the role of educators is very important to apply and implement democratic values for students. The implementation is shown by several democratic attitudes such as freedom of opinion, respect for other people's opinions, deliberation to reach consensus, accustoming students to participate in elections within the school, and so on. Strengthening democratic values is very important to teach because students are part of society who will later play a role in monitoring democracy in Indonesia.

Fostering Religious Tolerance in Students through Children's Spirituality (CSE) Education

This article aims to explore the Islam-based Children's Spirituality Education (CSE) model in forming students' religious tolerance. This research employs qualitative research incorporating literature study and interviews with numerous teachers teaching religion subject. The research results show that there are four principles of the Islamic CSE model that play a crucial role in strengthening students' religious tolerance, including; 1) respect for other people's beliefs, 2) building a logical, rational and inclusive way of thinking, 3) a spirit of seeking the truth and respecting different truths, and 4) building a spirit of religious moderation and living peacefully side by side with religious beliefs. The advantage of this model lies in its holistic and diverse approach to shaping students' spirituality and recognizing spiritual, emotional, social and cognitive dimensions as an integral part of individual development. The positive implications for Islamic Religious Education include actualizing children's potential according to the principles of Islamic spirituality, supporting the goals of spiritual and moral education, and stimulating understanding of the levels of spirituality in Islam. This model is an effective means of implementing an attitude of tolerance towards non-Muslims through an inclusive and respectful approach towards other beliefs.

Analisis Komunikasi: Efektivitas Qaulan Sadida Terhadap Dinamika Interpersonal

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of qaulan sadida on interpersonal dynamics. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. In collecting data, researchers did this by means of non-participant observation as primary data and literature study as secondary data (literature review). In analyzing research data, researchers carry out reduction, presentation and verification stages or make conclusions. The results of this research show that the concept of qaulan sadida, which emphasizes honesty, gentleness, and respect for other people's opinions, has a positive impact on communication and interpersonal dynamics. By applying values such as sincerity, consistency, openness, and choosing wise words, individuals can build strong, trusting, and inclusive relationships. Qaulan sadida also helps avoid unnecessary conflict, creates an environment that supports mutual growth, and encourages acceptance of diversity. The application of this principle is not limited to a religious context, but can be applied in various aspects of daily life.

Compliment Response in Chinese Speech Behavior

Compliment response is one of the most studied speech strategies in modern pragmatics research. Scientists conduct comparative studies of compliment tactics and responses between representatives of different languages, cultures and nationalities. Early work on the speech behavior of the Chinese found that Chinese speakers in most cases reject the compliment. Researchers believe that this is due to the norm of modesty and respect for other people, as well as self-deprecation. The last years of work on the study of the speech behavior of the Chinese do not lose their relevance, especially since they give different results, demonstrating that rejection does not always remain the dominant tactic of compliment response. Among the reasons of the change, researchers cite China’s socio-economic development, growing contacts with the outside world, the influence of Western cultural values, as well as the rejection of the “one family — one child” policy. As part of this study, we conducted a semi-closed survey with the participation of 300 Chinese students aged 18 to 25, where eight communication situations and variants of speech behavior in them were modeled for the respondents. The results showed that instead of choosing the tactic of rejecting the compliment, most respondents accepted compliments. Thus, Chinese speakers accept compliments in the same way as speakers of many Western languages, such as English and German.

Etnography and Multicultural Dynamics Communication of Jakarta Community

Betawi culture has been formed through a long process, but in fact the culture is displaced. One of the things that make Betawi tribe still exist and can be recognized is because of the assimilation process of various tribes in Indonesia. Betawi ethnic is created by the various arts of culture, language, and humans. The simplicity factors of the cultures make Betawi ethnic is accepted in all levels of Indonesian society. Intercultural communication patterns of the language which is used by Betawi people, have cultural backgrounds that affect their daily language. The multi-ethnic populations give a nuance of the heterogeneous city life in Batavia. This study uses a qualitative approach, the results of this research shows that the patterns and the cultures of Betawi produce the structure, the language and Betawi culture which is simple or easy to say and tends to “ceplas ceplos” in articulation words. Beside that it is found the communication culture of Betawi character which is shown from the openness attitude, family spirit, cooperation and respect for other people's cultures.

This counseling shows the enthusiasm of the participants and also increases their effective communication skills. The results of the speaker's activities were carrying out a simulation in the form of a roleplay for Tarakanita Vocational School students. Effective communication is determined by a communication behavior approach, namely (1) submissive (non-assertive), namely someone who shows low self-esteem so that interactions are always accompanied by worry and disappointment with themselves; (2) aggressive, in communicating generally giving the impression of superiority, domination and no respect for other people; and (3) assertive, in communicating generally respecting oneself and others and being able to communicate needs, desires and feelings

Implementation of Strategic Management in Building Student Character in Education Institutions in Indonesia

The purpose of this research is to find out and analyze strategic management in realizing student character how student character is manifested and what are the obstacles and solutions in realizing student character. The research method used in this research is a qualitative method with the main data source being observation and interviews with informants who have been selected in this research. The informants in this research were the school principal, teachers, school committee, and students’ parents. The analysis technique in this research uses the Miles and Huberman analysis model. The results of the research show that strategy management realizes student characteristics, namely, strategy formulation, strategy implementation, and strategy evaluation. Students’ character can be categorized as good, such as good manners, independence, self-confidence, discipline, maintaining cleanliness, dressing neatly, being obedient, and having respect for other people. The challenge in developing student character is including the social environment outside the madrasah. Therefore, it is necessary to have the maximum involvement of parents in preventing deviant behavior.

Reflections of Enculturation and Acculturation in Chabacano Folklores of Zamboanga City

This qualitative, descriptive, and analytical research study aimed to describe the perception of Zamboangueño-Chabacano through a sociological lens. The examination of the data centers on Chabacano folklore gathered from several trustworthy sources. The enculturation and acculturation types of culture were used to categorize these non-material cultures. It is essential to comprehend Zamboangueo-Chabacano culture to preserve cultural traditions and develop programs that may be used in the classroom to promote greater literacy. Seventeen of the thirty-five described civilizations are enculturated, while 18 are acculturated. The Chabacano folklores that best capture the Zamboangueo-Chabacano culture emphasize respect for other people's languages, races, and cities, a firm belief in God, perseverance, diligence, courage, resourcefulness, and an acceptance of paranormal phenomena (kababalaghan). The research's findings corroborate the idea that the influence of Spanish culture and great devotion to Catholicism played an essential role in the lives of the Zamboangueño-Chabacano by showing that the majority of the culture depicted in Chabacano folklore is acculturation.

Sinergi Tripusat Pendidikan dalam Menanamkan Perilaku Terpuji di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Berbasis Pesantren

This study aimed to determine the role of teachers and parents in shaping commendable behavior in pesantren-based Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic elementary schools). The research method in this study used a qualitative research type with a case study approach. The primary informants of this study were parents, teachers, and pesantren administrators. The results of this study found commendable forms of student behavior, namely politeness, respect for other people or friends, independence, obeying the law or discipline, and responsibility. The role of the teacher in shaping character was carried out by creating a climate in the school, making posts about good behavior that were placed on the wall, and creating a habituation program (morning parade, prayer, kiss the teacher’s hand, good behavior posters, and religious practices). Meanwhile, the excellent behavior emphasized by parents and pesantren administrators was independence, politeness in interactions, and religious guidance.

Insights into intercultural communication from a global citizenship framework: Voices of South Korean university students

ABSTRACT The aim of this phenomenological study was to explore South Korean university students’ views of the importance of intercultural communication. It also sought to obtain participant recommendations on how to improve awareness of intercultural communication in their personal lives, on campus, and in society. Intercultural communicative competence is becoming increasingly important as the world becomes more interconnected online and through intercultural exchanges that take place in a variety of capacities. This study was conducted during the spring semester of 2020 at a university in central South Korea. Participants included 14 South Korean university students who were enrolled in an intercultural communication class that was conducted online and designed for English language learners. Data comprised individual interviews, a focus group, and essays. Data analysis centred on examining commonalities and key statements made by participants. In terms of why it is important to study intercultural communication, results highlighted the need for people to be understanding and knowledgeable about diverse cultures, have respect for other people and cultures, and ensure that past intercultural conflict does not happen in the future. Students provided a wide range of recommendations for improving their awareness of intercultural communication. This paper concludes with practical implications.

The Role of Democratic Values on Respect for Other People's Opinions in the Civic Education Learning Process

The value of democracy is a pattern of beliefs or good things that are used as guidelines for life for the community to realize a democratic life. One of the indicators of democratic values and also the focus of this research is the attitude of respecting opinions. Respect for other people's opinions is an attitude in which a person has respect and is able to accept any differences that exist without seeing who and what other individuals have. Formulation of the problem How is the role of democratic values in respecting the opinions of others in the learning process of civic education. What are the obstacles in instilling democratic values in respecting other people's opinions in the learning process of civic education. The purpose of the research was conducted to determine the role of democratic values in respecting the opinions of others, and to identify obstacles in instilling democratic values in respecting the opinions of others in the learning process of civic education. This research uses qualitative research with a description method. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study revealed that the role of democratic values in respecting the opinions of others in the learning process of civic education is: 1) Students uphold other people's opinions, 2) Students heed other people's decisions or opinions, and 3) Students do not consider themselves the most correct. The obstacles in instilling democratic values in respecting the opinions of others in the learning process of civic education are the lack of student motivation in the learning process and ineffective communication between students in expressing opinions.

The Relationship Between the Guidance Provided by Caregivers and the Social Behavior of Children in Aisyiyah Koto Tangah Orphanage, Padang City

This research is motivated social behavior is not good, it is allegedly due to lack of training caregivers and children in the orphanage Aisyiyah Koto Tangah Padang of City. The purpose of this study is to see and describe the relationship between child development and social behavior at the Orphanage Aisyiyah Koto Tangah Padang of City. This research is a quantitative study that is descriptive correlational, the samples in this study were 55 people who were taken were taken from the entire population. Techniques of data collection in this research that uses questionnaires, data analysis is descriptive quantitative. The results of this study indicate that 1) the image guidance provided by the caregiver is still not good looks that still pembinan less provide moral guidance in the mix and less provide guidance in carrying out the activities, 2) description of social behavior is still not well seen that there is still a children who do not abide by the rules at the orphanage, lack of respect for other people's work and given the lack of cooperation among children, 3) there is a significant relationship between the development of the child's social behavior in orphanage Aisyiyah Koto Tangah Padang of City.

The Representation of Multicultural Values in Pearson Big English 6 ELT Textbook: A Discourse Analysis

This research aims to examine the visual components of a Pearson primary school English textbook. By applying visual semiotic theory to the visual aspects (Barthes, 1977). This research demonstrates that the EFL textbook has three kinds of multicultural values: respect for other people's traditions, appreciation for women's equal rights, and appreciation for other people's viewpoints. Three photos exemplified respect for other people's traditions, one exemplified gratitude for women's equal rights, and two exemplified appreciation for another person's viewpoint. Additionally, two visual components identified in this research are classified as source culture (SC), four visual elements are classified as universality culture (UC), and there are no visual elements that reflect target culture (TC). The current investigation discovered that the EFL Pearson textbook for Indonesian primary school continues to have an asymmetric depiction of multicultural values.

Activities and Learning Results of Islamic Education Through the Implementation of Cooperative Type Models Gallery Walk at Elementary School

The condition of learning in elementary schools, especially Islamic Education currently still uses conventional learning models (lecture method). In learning, students only become objects, so it does not encourage students' potential to develop. PAI learning using the Cooperative Type Learning Model Gallery Walk in class V elementary school is very good to apply. This aims to ensure that students develop activity and creativity in the classroom, have an attitude of respect for other people and appreciate the work of others, learn to solve certain problems, learn to understand group diversity, and be able to socialize in group environments and social life. The approach used is the approach qualitative. Research data This is in the form of information about the process and data on the results of actions obtained from observations, interview results, and final tests. The data source is the process of implementing the Type Cooperative Learning Model Gallery Walk in learning Islamic Education in class V at Elementary School 09 Behind Balok Bukittinggi. The research subjects were teachers (observers), researchers (practitioners), and 26 class V students. Data analysis was carried out using a data analysis model. Research result shows that learning uses a cooperative learning model Gallery Walk is very well implemented to improve student learning outcomes. The research results obtained in the first cycle of the first meeting showed that student activity was 69.89%, in the second meeting it increased to 73.10%, and in the second cycle of the first meeting, it became 86.02%. Meanwhile, the learning outcomes in cycle I, meeting I, were 68.46%, meeting II was 76.15% and in cycle II, meeting I was 98.46%. This is proof of the success of the research carried out at elementary school 09 Behind Balok Bukittinggi.

What's Wrong with Unhelpful Comments? Conversational Helpfulness and Unhelpfulness and Why They Matter

AbstractIt is common to criticize certain comments as ‘unhelpful’. This criticism is richer than it might first appear. In this paper, I sketch an account of conversational helpfulness and unhelpfulness, the reasons why they matter, and the utility of calling out comments as helpful or unhelpful. First, some unhelpful comments are or easily could be demoralizing for proponents of projects, and criticizing them as such can diminish, deflect, or defend against that demoralization. Second, some unhelpful comments redirect or derail conversations away from their projects and criticizing comments as unhelpful can steer conversations back. Third, some unhelpful comments are made out of a lack of epistemic effort and criticizing them as such can help maintain epistemic standards, standards of respect for other people and their projects, and can ensure that such comments do not receive more attention and consideration than they deserve.

Lexical semantics of the nouns denoting “honour” in English and Ukrainian

The article aims at analysing the lexical semantics of English and Ukrainian lexemes denoting “honour”. The analysed samples are divided into the groups of polysemantic lexemes, lexical units with the middle degree of polysemy and monosemantic units. The common features of the polysemantic lexical units denoting “honour” in English and Ukrainian are the indication to respect, esteem, reverence, attention, heed or consideration given to a thing or a person, adoration, praise, thoughtfulness for other people, kindness, care or concern for something, etc. The lexical semantics of Ukrainian polysemantic words is characterized by distinctive features that define “honour” as consent, permission, baptizing someone by saying a prayer; glory, glorification, gift, etc. English polysemantic words manifest the individual traits that define the actualized phenomenon as a pleasure to recognize positive qualities of a person, the feeling of being grateful for something, etc. The lexemes with the middle degree of polysemy reveal the following common semantic features: polite behaviour that shows respect for other people, public praise and reward for somebody’s work or actions, etc. The individual semantic features of English lexemes describe “honour” as a nonverbal means of an indication of approval or recognition; a positive opinion of somebody. The Ukrainian lexemes reveal the following differentiating semantic feature defining “honour” as exaggerated praise, flattery, etc. The monosemantic lexemes manifest the following common semantic features: great respect and admiration; a good opinion of somebody, the act of showing a lot of respect for a person, honour and praise given to somebody because of their achievements, insincere praise. The individual semantic features of English lexemes include the words interpreting “honour” as a speech or piece of writing praising somebody, an extravagantly approving appraisal or review, while Ukrainian language units reveal the following differentiating semantic feature defining “honour” as a prize or other mark of recognition given in honour of achievement and a person who likes paying compliments.

The Power of Tolerance vs. Unselfishness as a Cultural Determinant of Cooperation.

Cooperation in collective action problems and resource dilemmas is often assumed to depend on the values of the individuals involved, such as their degree of unselfishness and tolerance. Societal differences in cooperation and cooperative norms may therefore result from cultural variation in emphasis on these personal values. Here we draw on several cross-national datasets to examine whether society-level emphasis on unselfishness and tolerance and respect for other people predict how societies vary in cooperation [in a continuous prisoner’s dilemma (PD)] and in norms governing cooperation [in a common pool resource dilemma (CPR)]. The results suggest that high levels of cooperation and cooperative norms are promoted specifically by a cultural emphasis on tolerance.
