Tourism is witnessing a profound change in the next decade due to new megatrends characterizing typologies, demand, product development, environmental safeguards, community participation and sustainability requirements. Moreover quality services, more than pricing policy, are becoming decisive in the choice of destinations. This paper, stressing tourism development in Egypt, the leader of Middle East tourism, illustrates the diversity and quality of the tourist product of Egypt, the prevailing tourist trends, the various constraints and tourism development strategies. The future of tourism in Egypt looks brighter in the light of regional cooperation.
