ABSTRACT Although the literature on volunteerism is considerable and growing, there is not a substantial body of research dealing with the association between religious values and volunteerism. There may be a relationship between religious values and community volunteerism. There may be a relationship between religious values and church volunteerism. These issues have not been examined in depth. The purpose of this article is to examine the relationship between religious values and secular volunteering and the relationship between religious values and religious volunteering.
