Dentistry, an art and science and tranquilizer in medicine, has seen a lot of changing concepts over a decade and one such novel innovation is piezosurgery which fulfils both biological and technical criteria. It can be used for wide range of treatment, from simple implantology to sophisticated reconstructive surgeries. Low frequency piezosurgery produces a bloodless operating field by enabling safe and accurate bony incision without endangering underlying important structures including nerves, mucosa, and arteries. Soft tissues are protected, and biological mechanisms that encourage bone regeneration and improve patient recovery include the release of certain cytokines. This review outweighs piezosurgery over traditional tools and emphasizes on its clinical and biological aspects contributing to beneficial dental health.
