The quality of a regular microrelief formed by planetary rotary turning using a combined tool is considered. Processing of cylindrical surfaces with the developed tool (rotary cutter) increases their wear resistance by 1,6 times compared to turning with prismatic cutters and by 1,3 times compared to grinding. When turning with a rotary cutter, the hardening depth is 0,07÷0,12 mm, and the hardening depth is determined by the microhardness of the surface layer.
