Analysis of the Hybrid Power-Heating System in a Single-Family Building, along with Ecological Aspects of the Operation

This study evaluates a hybrid heating system in a single-family building in northeastern Poland, which has a temperate continental climate. The analysis covers two heating seasons in 2021/2022 and 2022/2023. The hybrid heating system includes an air heat pump HPA–08 CS Plus with a heating power of 8.2 kW (AHP), a condensing gas boiler VC146/5–5 with a power of 14 kW (GB–Condens.), and a solid fuel boiler with a power of 11 kW for central heating. Additionally, hot water is heated by a Basic 270 (DHW’s AHP) air–water heat pump with a power of 2 kW, utilizing a tank with a capacity of 270 dm3 equipped with two heating coils. The building’s average electricity consumption is around 5400 kWh/year. A 4.96 kWp photovoltaic installation is installed on the building’s roof at a 40° angle towards the south to supplement the hybrid system. The study aims to assess whether the PV installation can adequately cover the energy needs of the hybrid heat source for heating and hot water. Furthermore, the study calculates the emission of pollutants (CO2, SOx, NOx, CO, and PM10) into the atmosphere. The total annual electricity production from PV installations was 5444.9 kWh in 2021/2022 and 5684.8 kWh in 2022/2023. The excess electricity was stored in the PGE power grid as per the Prosumer settlement rules. The installed PV installation is sufficient to power the following devices annually: AHP, DHW’s AHP, and GB–Condens. However, the daily electricity production from the PV installation is not enough to cover the energy needs of the heat pump for heating during the cold months in Poland (I–III, XI–XII). It can meet the power needs of a PC all year round and can also be stored during the summer months, for example, in energy warehouses or by directly storing it in the PGE power grid. The use of the PV installation resulted in an average reduction in pollutant emissions into the atmosphere: CO2—94.1%, SOx—91.8%, NOx—95.6%, CO—9.7%, and PM10—32.1%.

Widespread 2013-2020 decreases and reduction challenges of organic aerosol in China

High concentrations of organic aerosol (OA) occur in Asian countries, leading to great health burdens. Clean air actions have resulted in significant emission reductions of air pollutants in China. However, long-term nation-wide trends in OA and their causes remain unknown. Here, we present both observational and model evidence demonstrating widespread decreases with a greater reduction in primary OA than in secondary OA (SOA) in China during the period of 2013 to 2020. Most of the decline is attributed to reduced residential fuel burning while the interannual variability in SOA may have been driven by meteorological variations. We find contrasting effects of reducing NOx and SO2 on SOA production which may have led to slight overall increases in SOA. Our findings highlight the importance of clean energy replacements in multiple sectors on achieving air-quality targets because of high OA precursor emissions and fluctuating chemical and meteorological conditions.

Coordinated emission reduction strategy of water pollution and carbon emissions in the South-to-North Water Diversion Project based on a differential game model

ABSTRACT This study investigates the green development of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project (SNWDP) by exploring the synergistic reduction of water pollution and carbon emissions. Firstly, a differential game model is constructed to reduce pollution and carbon in the water supply chain. Secondly, the emission reduction strategies of water source and receiving areas under centralized and decentralized decision models are compared and analyzed and a cost-sharing contract is designed to coordinate the supply chain. Finally, numerical analysis is used to compare and analyze the important parameters to draw conclusions. The results show that: (1) Collaboration between water source and receiving areas influences emission reduction efforts, with the highest achieved under the centralized model. (2) The cost-sharing contract improves efforts and addresses ‘free-riding’ in the decentralized model. (3) The SNWDP can achieve a win-win situation in terms of both environmental and economic benefits by promoting the synergy of pollution reduction and carbon reduction.

Does target-based performance evaluation system reduce pollution emissions? Firm-level evidence from China

This paper sheds light on the effectiveness of a concrete target-based performance evaluation system (TPES) for localities in enhancing local environmental enforcement in China. We conduct a difference-in-differences (DID) specification and exploit unique firm-level data to investigate the effects of the TPES on SO2 emission reduction through the Two control Zones (TCZ) policy. The results suggest that the TPES significantly reduces SO2 emissions of firms located at the TCZ cities, both in extensive and intensive margins. We also find that the treatment effects vary largely across enterprise sizes, ownership types, and local economic development. Our findings further verify how the long-standing distortions in the decentralized implementation of nationwide environmental regulations in China are remedied with a proper performance evaluation system.

Fiscal decentralization, leader localization, and reduction of pollution and carbon emissions —empirical evidence from China's fiscal “province-managing-county” reform

The fiscal system plays an important role in the government's environmental governance efforts. There is currently no consensus on how fiscal structure adjustments impact pollution and carbon reduction. This paper uses China's fiscal “province-managing-county” reform (FPMCR) implemented in 2004 as a quasi-natural experiment, utilizing panel data from 1670 counties in China from 2000 to 2020 to investigate the impact of fiscal decentralization on reduction pollution and carbon emissions (RPCE), as well as its underlying mechanisms. The results show that (1) from 2000 to 2020, China's RPCE shows an overall trend of fluctuating increase, with its value turning positive after 2013. China's RPCE exhibits a spatial pattern characterized by “lower in the north, higher in the south; higher in the east, lower in the west”. (2) After implementing FPMCR, the RPCE levels in reformed counties decreased by −1.44%, showing that reformed county-level governments prioritize economic development over environmental protection. (3) The mechanism analysis found that after implementing FPMCR, reformed counties experienced a 9.16% increase in nighttime light intensity (NLI), and a 3.99% and 4.34% increase in the number of large-scale industrial enterprises (NLIE) and industrial agglomeration (IA), respectively. This suggests that FPMCR leads to radical urbanization and rapid industrialization in counties, which is detrimental to the improvement of RPCE levels. (4) The spatial heterogeneity analysis found that FPMCR's impact coefficient on RPCE levels in the eastern regions is −1.96%, while in the western regions it is −1.16%. This indicates that reformed counties in the eastern regions are more likely to invest expanded fiscal resources in economic development projects, leading to a decrease in RPCE levels. (5) The temporal heterogeneity analysis found that after the promulgation of the “Three-Year Action Plan to Win the Blue Sky Defense Battle” in 2018, the adverse impact of FPMCR on RPCE is completely reversed, leading to a 1.76% increase in RPCE levels. (6) Further analysis reveals that localizing leaders can slow down the promotion of county-level urbanization and industrialization by the FPMCR, benefiting the improvement of RPCE levels. In other words, “the outsider monk will not recite scriptures as well as a local one”. This study has clarified the causal relationship and underlying mechanisms between fiscal decentralization and environmental governance, providing reliable theoretical support for optimizing grassroots fiscal systems and reducing environmental pollution in other transitional economies. It enriches the field of environmental economics related to fiscal decentralization.

Does Digital Inclusive Finance Help County Level Governance in the Five Provinces of Northwest China, from the Perspective of Economic Resilience?

The sustainable development of a country requires stable funds to reshape and restore its economy, something which cannot be separated from the support of financial services. Digital financial inclusion, with its inclusive and extensive features, has provided a new impetus for economic development and governance. Based on the panel data of 193 counties in 5 provinces of northwest China from 2014 to 2021, this paper uses a bi-directional fixed effect model, an intermediary effect model and a threshold effect model in order to test digital inclusive finance and county-level economic resilience, and to explore the internal correlation details. The results show that digital inclusive finance will significantly enhance the economic resilience of the five northwestern provinces by improving capital allocation efficiency, enhancing entrepreneurship and employment vitality, and reducing pollution emissions. In addition, there is a double threshold effect between capital allocation efficiency and employment vitality, in which the threshold effect of capital allocation efficiency presents a progressively increasing state, and in which the threshold effect of entrepreneurship and employment vitality presents a state of fluctuating increase. Therefore, China needs to further improve the digital inclusive financial environment in its northwest; continue and deepen the significant functions of digital inclusive finance in resource allocation efficiency, entrepreneurship and employment vitality, and environmental protection; and provide guidance for solving regional imbalances and promoting national sustainable development.

Enhancement of the Vegetation Carbon Uptake by the Synergistic Approach to Air Pollution Control and Carbon Neutrality in China

Carbon sinks provided by land ecosystems play a crucial role in achieving carbon neutrality. However, the future potential of carbon sequestration remains highly uncertain. The impact of pollutant emission reduction (PER) introduced by the proposed synergistic approach to air pollution control and carbon neutrality on carbon sinks in China has not yet been fully evaluated. In this study, we analyzed the effects of regional carbon-neutral PER policies, global climate change, and their coupled effects on China’s terrestrial gross primary productivity (GPP) by conducting numerical experiments using the weather research and forecasting model coupled with chemistry (WRF-Chem) and the moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer photosynthesis algorithm (MODIS-PSN). We found that carbon-neutral PER policies could promote GPP growth in most regions of China in 2060, particularly during April and October, resulting in a total increase of at least 21.84 TgC compared to that in 2016, which offset the adverse effects of global climate change up to fourfold. The aerosol radiative effects drive GPP growth under carbon-neutral PER policies, primarily through an increase in daily minimum temperature during winter and an increase in shortwave radiation during other seasons. Our research highlights that reducing pollutant emissions enhances future potential for carbon sequestration, revealing positive feedback towards achieving the target of carbon neutrality.

Renewable Energy Transition, Trade Openness, and CO2 Emissions Nexus in the Middle East

Reducing pollutant emissions during the global energy transition from fossil fuels to renewables is a significant endeavor. Nonetheless, a significant portion of the Middle East (ME) economy continues to be based mostly on the extraction and use of fossil fuels, posing a threat to the environment in the area. Thus, the current study examined the impact of income growth, trade openness (TO), and the Renewable Energy Transition (RET) on CO2 emissions in 12 Middle East nations, from 2000 to 2019. The findings demonstrated that the ME area contains the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC). RET decreased emissions of CO2. Therefore, the transition to renewable energy reduced emissions in this ME region. On the other hand, TO enhances CO2 emissions. For the ME region, TO is concerned with the environment. The research recommends a quick RET to safeguard the environment from CO2 emissions.

How effective is the reduction of major pollutants in thermal power plants under the ultra-low emission policy?

In 2015, the Chinese government set ultra-low emission standards for thermal power to alleviate the pressure of increasing total pollutants from energy demand. This paper analyzes the policy effect of ultra-low emission in different regions based on panel data of 1202 thermal power enterprises, and the results of hierarchical linear model show that the total amount of air pollutants emitted by thermal power enterprises showed a decreasing trend during 2017–2021, realizing the dual control of concentration and total amount. Due to the differences in primary energy structure, industrial structure and economic development level of different regions, the total emission reduction of thermal power pollutants is affected differently. First, the proportion of the region's secondary industry in the region's GDP is negatively correlated with the decrease of the total pollutant emission of local thermal power enterprises. Second, the higher the per capita GDP of the region, the more significant the decrease in the total amount of pollutants, economic development is conducive to pollutant emission reduction. Third, the higher the proportion of thermal power in local energy, the more obvious the reduction of total pollutant emissions of thermal power enterprises, indicating that the implementation of ultra-low emission policies in these regions is more thorough. In addition, the environmental protection tax plays a positive role in the total emission reduction, and the higher the sulfur dioxide tax rate, the more significant the reduction of total pollutants of thermal power enterprises. To further reduce the total amount of pollutants in thermal power, more coordinated efforts of environmental and economic policies are needed.

Can digital financial inclusion promote the coupling coordination between pollution reduction and low-carbon development? Evidence from China

Pollution reduction and low-carbon development are two specific but intertwined goals of addressing climate change and sustainable development of the United Nations in 2030, and the effective use of digital financial inclusion is imperative for driving technical innovation, upgrading industrial structure, and addressing climate change. Therefore, this paper investigates the impact of digital financial inclusion on the coupling coordination between pollution reduction and low-carbon development using a panel dataset of 30 China's provinces from 2011 to 2020. The results show that the coupling coordination between pollution reduction and low-carbon development in China improves significantly during the sample period. The synergistic effect of different economic zones and provinces varies greatly in space and time. In addition, digital financial inclusion has a promoting effect on the coupling coordination of pollution and carbon emission reduction. A mechanism analysis also reveals that technological innovation, industrial structure and energy consumption are the core transmission channels through which digital financial inclusion influences the synergistic effect of pollution and carbon emission reduction. This suggests that the need of coordinated governance by policymakers is warranted, and digital financial inclusion is an important way to this coordinated governance.

Effects of Chinese “double carbon strategy” on soil polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons pollution

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and carbon dioxide primarily originate from the combustion of fossil fuels and biomass. The implementation of the Chinese “double carbon strategy” is expected to impact the distribution of PAH emissions, consequently influencing the spatial distribution trend of PAHs in surface soil. Therefore, it is crucial to quantitatively evaluate the effectiveness of the Chinese “double carbon strategy” on soil PAH pollution for the purpose of “the reduction of pollution and carbon emissions”. This study utilized 15,088 individual PAH concentration data from 943 soil samples collected between 2003 and 2020 in China, in conjunction with PAH emissions at a 10 km resolution, for meta-analysis. The calculated PAH emissions in this study are in line with the global PAH emission inventory (PKU-PAH-2007), with a relative standard deviation at the provincial level of less than 25 %. Subsequently, a novel method was developed using emission density and Kow of PAHs to predict PAH concentrations in surface soil based on a least-squares regression model. Compared to other environmental models, the method established in this study significantly reduced the percent sample deviation to less than 70 %. Furthermore, energy consumption data for China were simulated based on the implementation plan of the “double carbon strategy” to project PAH emissions and soil PAH levels for the years 2030 and 2060. The predicted PAH emissions in China were estimated to decrease to 41,300 t in 2030 and 10,406.5 t in 2060 from 78,815 t in 2020. Moreover, the heavily contaminated areas of soil PAHs (i.e., total PAH concentrations in soil exceeding 1000 μg kg−1) were projected to decrease by 45 % and 82 % in 2030 and 2060, respectively, compared to levels in 2020. These findings suggest that the implementation of the “double carbon strategy” can fundamentally reduce the pollution of PAHs in surface soil of China.

Carbon-ferrous-sulfur mixotrophic denitrification driven by polyferric sulfate (PFS)-conditioned recovered sludge fermentation liquor enhanced nitrogen removal in woolen wastewater

Reducing pollution and carbon emissions synergistically in wastewater treatment is an important part of carbon neutralization. Recycling carbon sources (CSs) in sludge to refeed denitrification has been considered a promising sustainable pathway, but it is limited by CSs purification and recovery. This study evaluated the effects of polyferric sulfate (PFS), polyaluminum chloride (PAC), and polyacrylamide (PAM) conditioning on fermentation CSs recovery and denitrification efficiency. Results indicated PFS-conditioned recovered fermentation liquor showed higher denitrification efficiency for woolen wastewater. CSs recovery test showed that PFS conditioning improved the purity of high-bioavailability CSs by depleting fewer short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and removing more total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP), and humic acids. Under the 0.05 g/gTSS PFS conditioning and recovery, the preservation of soluble chemical oxygen demand (SCOD) and SCFAs were 71.00 % and 84.36 %, respectively, and the nitrate degradation rate achieved 3.19 mgNO3−·h−1·gVSS−1. Importantly, Fe(III) dissociated from PFS oxidized the S2− from woolen wastewater, and generated Fe(II) and S0, which composed a synergistic electron donor system together with SCFAs. They constituted a mixotrophic denitrification dominated by heterotrophic denitrification and reinforced by ferrous and sulfur-autotrophic denitrifications, which contributed 69.56, 17.72, and 12.72 % to nitrogen removal, respectively. In addition, the refeeding of PFS-conditioned recovered fermentation liquor promoted the proliferation of microorganisms involved in iron/sulfur autotrophic denitrification and the abundance of denitrification functional genes, especially the napA, nirS, cnorB, qnorB, and nosZ, forming an efficient Carbon-Ferrous-Sulfur hybrid denitrifiers community to enhanced nitrogen removal from woolen wastewater.

Accelerating zero emission truck adoption in urban applications: Beijing analysis and recommendations

With the complete phase out of national new energy vehicle purchase subsidies, Chinese cities need to explore more policy instruments to simulate the adoption new energy trucks (NETs). The study takes Beijing as an example and aims to address: how Chinese cities can craft policies to further promote NETs, considering different NET models operating in divergent duty cycles by different sizes of operators would have different obstacles with vehicle technologies and costs, to achieve its carbon and air pollutant emission reduction goal, while maintaining the livelihood of small and medium carrier in the freight industry. Based on NET technical performance analysis and surveys WRI conducted on carriers in Beijing, we analyze the technological readiness of NETs and the gaps in total costs of ownership (TCOs) between NETs and ICE trucks for each duty cycle category. The study further identifies the policies that are effective to fill the current (2022—2024) technological and cost gaps of NETs, based on literature review and quantitative analysis.

Investigation on Synergism and Its Influence Parameters between Coal and Biomass during Co-Gasification Based on Aspen Plus

The co-gasification of coal and biomass offers numerous benefits, including improved gasification efficiency, reduced pollution emissions, and the utilization of renewable resources. However, there is a lack of comprehensive research on the synergistic effects of, and influence parameters on, coal–biomass co-gasification. This study employs Aspen Plus simulations to investigate the co-gasification behavior of coal and corn straw, focusing on the synergistic effects and the impact of various operating conditions. A synergistic coefficient is defined to quantify the interactions between the feedstocks. Sensitivity analyses explore the effects of gasification temperature (800–1300 °C), coal rank (lignite, bituminous, anthracite), biomass mass fraction (0–50%), oxygen-to-carbon ratio, and steam-to-carbon ratio on the synergistic coefficients of effective syngas content (CO + H2), specific oxygen consumption, specific fuel consumption, and cold gas efficiency. The results reveal an optimal biomass mass fraction of 10% for maximizing cold gas efficiency, with the syngas primarily consisting of H2 (36.8%) and CO (61.6%). Higher gasification temperatures (up to 1200 °C) improve syngas quality and process efficiency, while higher-rank coals exhibit better gasification performance compared to lignite. Optimal oxygen-to-carbon and steam-to-carbon ratios are identified for maximizing syngas yield and quality. These findings provide valuable guidance for the design and optimization of industrial coal–biomass co-gasification processes, enabling the maximization of syngas quality, process efficiency, and resource utilization.

Air quality and heath co-benefits of low carbon transition policies in electricity system: the case of Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region

Low carbon transition strategies of power plants are crucial to meet China’s ‘Dual Carbon’ targets. While the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei (BTH) region, the ‘capital economic circles’ of China, is suffering from serious air pollution, air quality co-benefits of low carbon transition policies in electricity system in BTH area remain unclear. Here, we estimate the impacts of low carbon transition policies, including one BAU, six single and five combined scenarios, in electricity system in BTH area on installed power capacity, CO2 emissions, air quality and human health through 2060 based on open source energy modeling system and extend response surface model ERSM models. Results show that the total installed capacity under single and combined scenarios (except RE and Tech single scenarios) fluctuates around the BAU level of 310.5 GW in 2060. While all single and combined scenarios would generally achieve ‘carbon peak’ in BTH electricity system before 2030, only S4 (combining technological progress, renewable energy development and CCUS) and S5 (in additional to S4, including gas-fired power generation instead of coal-fired power generation) scenarios have the potential to realize carbon neutrality by 2060. The magnitude of reductions in air pollutant emissions and improvement in air quality in BTH area from the BAU level in 2060 under combined scenarios, especially S4 and S5, generally exceed that of six single scenarios. Importantly, S5 in 2060 contributes to about 8528 avoided premature mortalities in BTH area, which are more effective than any other scenarios. The results suggest that S5 is a promising low carbon transition policy to achieve environmental improvement and produce health benefits.

Green Fiscal and Tax Policies in China: An Environmental Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium Approach

Implementing green fiscal and tax policies for reducing emissions and pollution without negatively impacting economic growth remains a challenge. We aimed to determine whether environmental protection and economic growth can both be attained under a green fiscal and tax policy. Specifically, we created a dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) model to explore the environmental, economic, and welfare impacts of green fiscal and tax policies. Additionally, a welfare analysis based on an environmental DSGE (E-DSGE) model was performed. We found that (1) raising the environmental or energy tax rate was beneficial for reducing emissions and environmental pollution. However, this approach inhibited economic growth, an outcome not conducive to improving welfare. (2) Increasing the subsidy rate for emission reduction not only incentivized businesses to reduce emissions but also improved economic growth and welfare. (3) The emission reduction mechanisms of environmental tax policies, energy tax policies, and subsidy policies are different. Among them, the environmental tax policy and the energy tax policy both reduce pollution by forcing businesses to increase their emission reduction efforts, but the former is a tax on pollution emissions, while the latter is a tax on energy consumption. However, emission reduction subsidy policies incentivize companies to increase their emission reduction efforts and reduce pollution emissions by alleviating their financial burden. (4) Increasing government spending on environmental remediation could promote economic growth. However, considering that this does not motivate companies to reduce emissions, increasing their share will lead to a reduction in emission reduction subsidies, ultimately negatively impacting social welfare. (5) An environmental tax would cause greater losses in welfare than an energy tax. These findings will enable policymakers to optimize expenditures and tax systems.

Challenges and perspectives of air pollution control in China

Air pollution is one of the most challenging environmental issues in the world. China has achieved remarkable success in improving air quality in last decade as a result of aggressive air pollution control policies. However, the average fine particulate matter (PM2.5) concentration in China is still about six times of the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Air Quality Guidelines (AQG) and causing significant human health risks. Extreme emission reductions of multiple air pollutants are required for China to achieve the AQG. Here we identify the major challenges in future air quality improvement and propose corresponding control strategies. The main challenges include the persistently high health risk attributed to PM2.5 pollution, the excessively loose air quality standards, and coordinated control of air pollution, greenhouse gases (GHGs) emissions and emerging pollutants. To further improve air quality and protect human health, a health-oriented air pollution control strategy shall be implemented by tightening the air quality standards as well as optimizing emission reduction pathways based on the health risks of various sources. In the meantime, an “one-atmosphere” concept shall be adopted to strengthen the synergistic control of air pollutants and GHGs and the control of non-combustion sources and emerging pollutants shall be enhanced.

Utilization of RSM to optimize the performance and emissions of a single cylinder diesel engine using waste hazelnut biodiesel

One of the environmentally friendly, biodegradable, and renewable alternative fuels widely used around the world is biodiesel. Among vegetable oils, hazelnut oil has great importance in biodiesel production due to its high content of oleic acid. For this study, it is aimed to determine the optimum mixing ratio of biodiesel, produced from waste hazelnut oil (WHB). The tests were carried out on a diesel engine operated with WHB/diesel mixtures at different loads. By means of the design of experimental method (DOE), three different fuel ratios (WHB0, WHB15 and WHB30) were defined and tests have been performed. The results obtained from the tests were analyzed using the response surface method (RSM). Engine load and mixing ratio were determined as input factors while CO, NOx, smoke, indicated thermal efficiency (ITE), ignition delay (ID) and break specific fuel consumption (BSFC) were determined as output factors. In the mathematical model created, the R2 values were found to be 0.98, 0.95, 0.91, 0.98, 0.99 and 0.90 respectively. The high R2 values indicated a strong correlation between the optimization outputs and the real experiments. By using these performance and emission parameters, optimization was performed to identify the optimum blend ratio and load. Based on the results, the optimum inputs were determined as 8.46 Nm load and 4.86 % blend ratio. As a result, with the optimized fuel blend, BSFC (8.03 %), ID (3.57 %), and NO (2.87 %) increased while ITE (7.7 %), CO (18.37 %), and smoke (26.15 %) decreased comparing to WHB0. Despite the slight increase in consumption, the results showed that this blend could be used in an environmentally efficient manner, thanks to the reduction in pollutant emissions.

Economic Dispatch of Multi Regional Power Systems Based on CMOPSO Algorithm

With the progress of society and the aggravation of environmental pollution, the economic dispatch of the power system is developing towards multiple environmental and economic goals. To improve energy utilization efficiency, this study innovatively proposes a multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm based on competitive learning, and uses this algorithm to solve multi regional environmental and economic scheduling problems. In addition, the study solves static and dynamic economic (S-DE) scheduling problems in multiple regions through improved competitive group optimization algorithms. The research results show that under different testing systems, the average distribution uniformity indicators of the research algorithm built on competitive learning are 0.8058 and 0.8457, and the average anti generation distance is 67.6316 and 1664.0978. The improved competitive group optimization algorithm solves the maximum, minimum, and average fuel costs for static economic scheduling in multiple regions, which are 656.2243 $/h, 655.8592 $/h, and 655.9866 $/h, respectively. Thus, the designed algorithm can effectively solve economic scheduling problems, which is of great significance for resource integration, saving power generation costs, and reducing pollution emissions.
