PERAN ORANG TUA DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PERMULAAN ANAK USIA SEKOLAH DASAR

The formulation of the problems in this study were (1) what is the role of parents in educating children to read in the family in Ulupulu 1 Village, Nangaroro District, Nagekeo Regency? (2) what is the reading ability of elementary school age children in Ulupulu 1 Village, Nagaroro District, Negekeo Regency? (3) what is the role of parents in improving children's beginning reading skills in Ulupulu 1 Village, Nangaroro District, Nagekeo Regency? This study aims to: (1) the role of parents in educating children to read in the family. (2) the ability to read in Ulupulu 1 village, Nagaroro sub-district, Nagekeo district. (3) the role of parents in improving the early reading skills of elementary school aged children in Ulupulu 1 village, Nagaroro district, Nagekeo district. This research is a qualitative research. Because it is used to see the relationship between the role of parents and children's reading ability based on facts. The data collection technique is done by conducting in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The subjects of this study were parents and grade II elementary school students in Ulupulu I village, Nangaroro district, Nagekeo district in 2020 on the subject of "reading the beginning". Data analysis techniques used the data reduction stage, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The conclusion of this study is that the role of parents in Ulupulu 1 village in improving children's early reading skills is done by guiding, motivating and providing facilities.

What Factors Contribute to Reading in ADHD: Examining Reading-Related Skills in Children With ADHD Only/Comorbid Developmental Dyslexia.

ADHD and developmental dyslexia (DD) frequently co-occur. However, it is unclear why some children with ADHD acquire DD while others do not. A total of 830 children (including typically developing controls, ADHD only, DD only, and ADHD + DD groups) of two ages (younger: first-third grade; older: fourth-sixth grade) were assessed on measures of reading ability and reading-related skills. The clinical groups had different degrees of impairment in each reading-related skill. Regression results found that the four groups had different skills in predicting reading ability in younger and older grades. Especially, rapid automatized naming (RAN) was the only predictor of reading ability in children with ADHD only. The study highlights that RAN plays an important role in the reading development of children with ADHD only, reflecting the possible protective role of RAN in reading development.

Visual acuity and reading print size requirements in children with vision impairment

ABSTRACT Clinical Relevance The support of students with a vision impairment throughout education could be enhanced by assessing the functional reading ability of the individual. This visual assessment could inform educators of individualised student needs and potentially improve the academic achievement for these students. Background Support for children with a vision impairment within a classroom is typically based on clinical findings of distance visual acuity and visual fields. Therefore, determining optimal print size for reading is essential to ensure best academic outcomes. Secondary aims were to investigate the possible impact of underlying pathology on reading ability. Methods Forty-seven participants were recruited from a state-wide support service for children with a vision impairment in South Australia. Three visual acuity groups were formed based on World Health Organisation definitions of mild, moderate, and severe vision impairment. Correlation between clinical measures of distance visual acuity using the Freiburg Visual Acuity Test, were compared with reading acuity and critical print size (smallest font before reading speed reduced) using Minnesota low vision reading chart (MNREAD). Results No significant correlations were found for mild (0.20–0.49 logMAR) and severe (1.00–1.52 logMAR) vision impairment groups between distance visual acuity and reading acuity read (p = .64, CI [−.585, .395]/p = .82, CI [−.48, .58]) or critical print size (p = .78, CI [−.57, .45]/p = .43, CI [−.34, .68]. A significant correlation was found for the moderate vision impairment group: 0.50–0.99 logMAR for minimum reading acuity (p < .001, CI [.44, .91]) and critical print size (p = .03, CI [.05, .80]). Conclusions Standard clinical measures of distance visual acuity are an unpredictable estimate of reading ability in children with mild and severe vision impairment. Additional measures of functional near reading ability could provide a more meaningful indicator of reading ability and help provide optimum support to students through education.

Kegiatan literasi untuk anak-anak di Dusun Brengosan Donoharjo Ngaglik Sleman Yogyakarta

Purpose − This activity aims to help elementary school-age children in Dusun Brengosan Donoharjo Sleman Yogyakarta who have problems with reading. For some children, online learning and periodic assignments made by the school are difficult to follow. The impact of this learning is that there are some children who do not master early reading and comprehension of reading content.&#x0D; Method − The method of this service activity is tutorial. Participants consisted of 7 children consisting of 2 children in grade 1 SD, 1 child in grade 3, 3 children in grade 4, and 1 child in grade 5. This activity is carried out every Sunday for 2 consecutive weeks . The first week is an assessment of all children's reading abilities (5-6 December 2021). Second week (December 12-13 2021), reading skill tutorial activities.&#x0D; Findings − The result of this activity is the increasing ability of 1st and 5th graders to distinguish similar letters. For grades 3 and 4, they understand the core concepts of the reading and can retell it in their own language. Children participating in literacy activities also showed high motivation in participating in activities from start to finish in all sessions. Parents and children expressed that they wanted this activity to continue. This activity is a supporting activity for the village program in the form of village literacy which is funded by a combination of funding sources from Tamanssiwa's Bachelor of Science University and Mitra Kas.

Upaya Penanganan Kesulitan Membaca Permulaan pada Anak di Rumah Belajar Dusun IV Lamtoro II RT. V

This field work practice is motivated by problems which show that children's reading skills are not yet optimal in their ability to recognize simple words, children are not yet able to arrange letters into words, arrange syllables into words. The street vendors are held at the Children's Learning House which is located in Dusun IV Lamtoro II, RT. V Bandar Klippa Village, Kec. Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. The aim of this street vendor is that students are expected to be able to apply the groupwork method to a mini project which will be one of the assessments in this street vendor activity. By using social work intervention methods with groups (groupwork). Mezzo (groupwork) interventions help individuals, groups, families, organizations and communities in order to strengthen and improve their capacities in order to overcome problems or restore client social functioning. With this mini project, it is hoped that it will improve children's reading skills in the Learning House, which totals 5 people. The data obtained in this study is through the results of the assessment that is carried out is a generalist assessment that includes the realm of mezzo practice in one client case. The mezzo assessment is carried out on the conditions of the client's closest social environment such as the client's family or peers accompanied by observations or observations of children's activities while learning to read through programs that have been designed. Data on children's learning outcomes has increased significantly. Children's reading ability has increased. Thus it can be concluded that a series of programs to build children's study habits can improve children's reading skills at the Children's Learning House in Dusun IV Lamtoro II RT. V

Meningkatkan Kemampuan Membaca Permulaan Melalui Media Stick Abjad pada Anak Usia Dini

This research article has the objectives of 1) to find out children's reading skills at the beginning 2) to find out children's reading abilities through stick media 3) and to find out the obstacles and solutions made by teachers in teaching children's reading beginners. This study is located at TK Raudataul Ilmi Medan. To obtain data, researchers used descriptive qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. Then, to maintain the validity of the data, researchers used triangulation. The results were found. 1) The ability of children at Kindergarten Raudatul Ilmi Medan in the new academic year, the results of the survey revealed that the ability of children could not read, but only knew the alphabet. 2) The ability to read children at the beginning through the media of alphabet sticks, gives significance for children to know the alphabet and read at the beginning. 3) Obstacles and solutions are felt by the teacher as children are more fun playing than learning presented by the teacher, even though they are already using stick media. This is then, the teacher takes action on the analysis of media that is varied and collaborates with the children's parents to accelerate children's reading skills.&#x0D; Keywords: Beginning Reading, Media Stick, Early Childhood.

Peningkatan Kemampuan Membaca Anak Usia Dini 5-6 Tahun Menggunakan Media Cantol Gambar

This research aims to describe the effectiveness of picture hook media in improving the reading skills of young children aged 5-6 years by using picture hook media at RA AS-AS-Sholihin. This research uses the Kemmis and Mc classroom action research model. Taggart. This research was carried out in January 2023 for three cycles. The subjects of this research were 18 RA AS-Sholihin group B students. The data collection techniques used are observation, tests, documentation, and interviews. Meanwhile, research instruments use observation sheets, tests, and documentation. The results showed that there was an increase in reading skills in early childhood in the B RA AS-Sholihin group by using hook pictures as media. This increase can be seen from the results of observations which increase in each cycle. The average value obtained in cycle I reached 39%, in cycle II it reached 61%, and in cycle III it reached 89%. The results of this research show that the use of picture hook media can improve children's reading abilities. Based on the statement above, the researcher concluded that the use of hook pictures in As-Sholihin RA was said to be very influential in children's learning processes. Namely by using picture hook media the learning atmosphere is more enjoyable, and children are more interested in learning to read so that it can help improve reading skills.

Digital Tools for Children with Reading Difficulties

Numerous literature reviews and meta-analyses have examined the effectiveness of technology-based interventions in enhancing the reading skills of students facing difficulties in this area. However, given the rapid advancements in technology, it is crucial to review the most recent studies and their implementation methods in order to support students who are performing below their peers. This paper aims to consolidate the latest published research on technology-based interventions designed to improve reading abilities in children with reading difficulties. Fluency skills were the primary focus of the majority of technology-based interventions, with computer programs being the most commonly employed tool.

MULTISENSORY METHOD IN IMPROVING CHILDREN'S READING ABILITY IN TAHFIDZ YATIM DHUAFA VILLAGE

The problem in this study is about the low ability to read because there are limitations that are owned by children. This study aims to find out how the influence of the multisensory method in improving reading skills in children from Quran Village RTYD. The research method used in this research is quantitative research with experimental methods using Pre Experimental Design type two group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were students of Quran Village RTYD and the samples in this study were children of class one Quran Village RTYD. The analysis technique uses independent sample t-test . The results showed that there was an effect of the multisensory method on children's reading ability, this could be seen in the control group, there was no significant difference in score (p &gt; 0.05), then an independent sample t-test was performed and the results showed that the difference in pretest scores between the experimental and control groups was not significant (P &lt; 0.05).

Komparasi Kemampuan Membaca Permulaan Anak Melalui Media Pembelajaran Montase

Beginning reading ability is the basis for further and fluent children's reading ability. Through observations conducted by researchers at PAS Ar-Rohim Kindergarten, researchers found that there were some children who still had initial reading abilities that were not in line with expectations, including 10 out of 13 children who still had difficulty recognizing letter symbols from A-Z, distinguishing words that had the same initial letter, and arranging letters to form a word. This study aims to find out whether there are differences in children's beginning reading abilities through montage learning media in group A of TK PAS Ar-Rohim Bancang Sambit Ponorogo. This study used a quantitative method of the pre-experimental type and the One Group Pretest Posttest design. Data collection was carried out through observation and tests. The research object came from the students of PAS Ar-Rohim Kindergarten selected by saturated sampling technique. The research data were then analyzed using the paired sample t-test and drawing conclusions. Data analysis in this study was processed and visualized with the help of SPSS 23. Based on the results of data analysis it was found that (1) in the experiments that had been carried out there were differences in children's initial reading ability before and after the montage activity was given. The children's initial reading ability before being given treatment obtained the pretest results with an average score of 19.6923 and after being given the treatment the results of the posttest were 30.5385. The difference between before and after the treatment was given was 10.84615. On the results of the paired sample t-test, the sig.(2-tailed) result is 0.00 &lt;0.005, which means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted

Modeling the relationships among home literacy environment, reading interest, self-regulation, and reading ability of children with intellectual disabilities in China

Background Understanding of reading skills of children with intellectual disabilities can help implement appropriate educational strategies. This study aimed to explore the relationship between home literacy environment and reading ability of children with intellectual disabilities and possible mediating roles of reading interest and self-regulation in this relationship. Method 297 Chinese children with intellectual disabilities were surveyed for home literacy environment, reading interest, self-regulation and reading ability questionnaires. Data entry, correlation and structural equation modeling were performed using the Statistical Package for Social Science software package. Results Home literacy environment impacted reading ability of children with intellectual disabilities via mediation by reading interest and self-regulation. Conclusions These results revealed the influencing pathways of home literacy environment on reading ability of children with intellectual disabilities and ascertained the positive roles of reading interest and self-regulation in their reading development.

PENDAMPINGAN LITERASI GERAKAN MENUMBUHKAN MINAT BACA BAGI ANAK–ANAK LOKR DI DUSUN WAIPUTIH

Children's reading ability is the basis for mastering various fields. PISA data 2018 shows that the literacy and numeracy abilities of Indonesian children tend to be stagnant and are ranked second from the bottom. To develop children's literacy and numeracy skills, appropriate strategies are needed so that children are interested and trained to develop reading, writing and understanding the information around them. This PKM aims to provide assistance as an effort to strengthen children's literacy. The method in this PKM is by applying the LOKR steps namely Literacy, Orientation, Collaboration and Reflection. The result of this activity is that at the literacy stage the child still has difficulty answering questions from the story that has been read, it is necessary to do repetition and reinforcement at the orientation stage students have started to find answers, the collaboration stage is carried out to stimulate children who are still considered low to understand the meaning of reading, at In the reflection stage, the child can find answers to questions. The conclusion of this activity is that children's literacy skills tend to be at the level of needing intervention and basic. Furthermore, habituation is needed so that children like to read and understand what they read. It was proven that at the third meeting in this PKM activity the children had increased their ability to read and understand the contents of their reading.

Pengaruh Media Alphabet Fishing Terhadap Kemampuan Membaca Anak Usia 5-6 Tahun Di TK Mawar Putih Kecamatan Singingi Hilir Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi

The ability to read is one of the most important aspects of language, the introduction of reading skills needs to be stimulated in children from an early age, stimulating children's reading abilities from an early age can help children to recognize letters, add new vocabulary and most importantly can make it easier for children to learn. The Alphabet Fishing game can be a simple game designed to help children aged 5-6 years recognize letters. This study aims to determine the effect of Alphabet Fishing media on the reading ability of children aged 5-6 years at Mawar Putih Kindergarten, Singingi Hilirr District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. The type of research used was experimental, using a pre-experimental research design model of one group pretest posttest design, namely research conducted in one group. The data analysis technique used in this study used a t-test using the SPSS Windows Version 25 program. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant effect of using Alphabet Fishing media on the reading ability of children aged 5-6 years in Mawar Putih Kindergarten, Singingi Hilir District. Kuantan Singingi, comparison of the results of the ability test of children before and after the implementation of the experiment by giving treatment in the form of Alphabet Fishing media. The magnitude of the effect is equal to 75,7%, and based on the Normalized Gain assessment criteria it is in the high category.

UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PERMULAAN MENGGUNAKAN MEDIA KARTU SUKU KATA DI SEKOLAH DASAR

Reading has a big effect on students' ability to accept subject matter, especially text-based learning, students who are unable to read well will have difficulty participating in learning activities for all subjects. Children's initial reading ability is the child's ability to master reading techniques and understand the contents of the reading well. One of the learning methods to improve children's early reading skills is to use syllable media. The method used in this research is literature research (library research). Beginning reading ability in children is focused on six stages of ability aspects, namely: (1) Ability to read symbols, (2) Ability to read letters, (3) Ability to read types of vowel and consonant sounds, (4) Ability to name letter sounds, (5) Ability reading syllables, and (6) Ability to read words. Media Syllable cards can help teachers achieve instructional goals because apart from being cheap and easy to obtain media, they can also increase student activity. In addition, students' knowledge and understanding becomes wider, clearer, and not easily forgotten

Family Factors Affecting Children's Reading Ability

Today, childrens reading ability is seen as an increasingly important personal skill, helping individuals to absorb information and export it as well. While a large number of studies have analyzed the effects of a specific family factor on children's reading ability, few review-type articles have summarized and generalized multiple influences. Thus, this paper analyzes the literature in the past 30 years on family factors that influence children's reading ability from 3 major mediating roles--family socioeconomic status, family cultural environment, and family psychological atmosphere. On this basis, this paper proposes multidimensional practical suggestions, for the family and society regarding the development of children's reading ability, which includes separate advice for children in lower grades and children in higher grades. Effective parent-participate cultural activities may especially work on the development of younger childrens reading comprehension, while the capability of independent reading is essential for children in higher grades. Finally, the author offers an outlook for future researchers.

White matter correlates of reading subskills in children with and without reading disability

Individual differences in reading ability are associated with characteristics of white matter microstructure in the brain. However, previous studies have largely measured reading as a single construct, resulting in difficulty characterizing the role of structural connectivity in discrete subskills of reading. The present study used diffusion tensor imaging to examine how white matter microstructure, measured by fractional anisotropy (FA), relates to individual differences in reading subskills in children aged 8 to 14 (n = 65). Findings showed positive correlations between FA of the left arcuate fasciculus and measures of single word reading and rapid naming abilities. Negative correlations were observed between FA of the right inferior longitudinal fasciculus and bilateral uncinate fasciculi, and reading subskills, particularly reading comprehension. The results suggest that although reading subskills rely to some extent on shared tracts, there are also distinct characteristics of white matter microstructure supporting different components of reading ability in children.

Analysis of Digital Learning Media "Typing Land" to the Reading Ability at Kak Seto School

This study aims to analyze the reading ability of students at Kak Seto School and determine the effectiveness of digital learning media in improving their reading skills. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, focusing on three first-grade students at Kak Seto School who cannot read. Data is collected through observation, documentation, and interviews with teachers from the TIK (Technology of Information and Communication) department. The study's findings indicate that the students have a common problem: Sensory Processing Disorder, and that digital learning media can effectively improve their reading abilities. The research implications and limitations of the study are that it focuses only on three students at Kak Seto School, and the findings may not be generalizable to other schools or contexts. However, the study has practical implications for teachers, who must proactively introduce children to letters and train their learning abilities. The use of digital media can facilitate critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential for academic success. The originality and value of this study lie in its contribution to understanding the role of digital learning media in improving reading abilities in children. The study provides important insights into the benefits of digital media in teaching and learning and highlights the need for further research. By utilizing digital media effectively, educators can help enhance the reading abilities of students struggling to learn in traditional classroom settings. Overall, this study has important implications for educators, policymakers, and parents interested in improving children's literacy rates.

The Relationship of Serial Storytelling Activities in Stimulating Early Reading Ability in Kindergarten

The purpose of the study was to find out how storytelling activities relate to using series image media in improving initial reading skills. The formulation of the problem stated in this study is the low initial reading ability in children of Al-Karomah Kindergarten PGRI 4 Pujon. The type of research used is quantitative, using a correlation approach. The subject to be studied is a child, which amounts to 15 children. The required data collected through observation sheets, documentation, and data acquisition of relationships of two or more variables will be analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The coefficient results obtained from the regression test analysis showed that the constant value was 1.975. In contrast, the serialized image storytelling value received a value of 0.902, so the regression model equation above can be described as Y = a + bX or 1.957 + 0.902X. Following the results described, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between serial drawing storytelling activities and children's initial reading ability.

Implementasi Model Pembelajaran Kelompok dalam Mengembangkan Kemampuan Membaca Pada Anak Usia Dini di Tk Muslimat III Durbuk Pademawu Pamekasan

This study aims to determine the extent to which teachers apply the group learning system in TK Muslimat III. This research method is qualitative with a descriptive type of research. To get the maximum data, researchers use research. The research location is TK Muslimat III Durbuk Village, Pademawu District, Pamekasan Regency. The source data obtained by the researcher comes from primary data through teachers and students, while secondary data is obtained from some scientific works, for example; books, journals, and magazines. By using data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation. As for data analysis, researchers narrate in the form of descriptions. The results showed that: first, the implementation of a group learning system in improving children's reading ability, children were grouped into 4 people according to the level of child reading development, reading books in turns, stimulating children with conversational and question and answer methods. With group learning, children are more enthusiastic and focused because there is a sense of community and foster a hone and compassionate attitude towards students. Second, the supporting factors for the implementation of the group learning system in improving children's reading skills in Muslimat III Kindergarten are that the learning room is packaged so that students are more interested, learning media that attracts students to learn comfortably. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors of the group learning system in improving children's reading skills in TK Muslimat III are children's lack of interest in listening and listening, lack of obedience, frequent disturbing of friends and lack of interaction between one child and another.

Peningkatan Kemampuan Membaca Anak Usia Dini Usia 5-6 Tahun Melalui Media Flashcard Di Tk As-Syifa Curug-Tangerang

One component of language development is the ability to read and recognize the letters of the alphabet from A to Z. Children's reading ability requires the right stimulus in order to develop reading skills according to their age. Flashcard media is one of the media to develop reading skills. The research approach used in this study is the classroom action research method (CAR), the subjects in this study were teachers and students of Kindergarten B with a total of 2 teachers of Kindergarten B and 21 students of Kindergarten B in Kindergarten As-Syifa Curug-Tangerang, so all subjects were present. 23 people. Data collection techniques were observation, interviews and documentation. Data validation used the triangulation method. The results of the study revealed that the use of flashcard media was able to develop children's reading skills through the smart box game method with the help of pictures and letters from the A-Z alphabet. Flashcard media can make children interested, easy to remember new vocabulary, able to mention the shape and sound of letters, practice listening skills and stimulate children to think and then make children able to express their imagination. years at As-Syifa Kindergarten Curug-Tangerang with the smart box game method.
