Analysis of Genetic Variability and Heritability of Agronomic Characters from Crossing Yardlong Bean of Fagiola IPB x Super Putih

This research aim was to estimate the variability value and heritability of quantitative and qualitative character on F4 generation from crossing Fagiola IPB and Super Putih. The observed parameters were plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, the day of flowering, length of young pod, pod color, number of pod, number of seeds, seed weight, weight of one seed, weight of 100 seeds, and sweetness. Data were analized by Analysis of Variance, Genetic Variability, and Heritability. The result showed that only character of seed weight per plant had high genetic variability. The characters of number of leaves, number of branches, length of young pods, number of old pods, number of seeds, weight of seeds, one seed weight, and weight of 100 seeds had high heritability. The day of flowering and sweetness had low heritability. The results of the dendogram analysis showed that group C was recommended for next generations.

Performance management in hospital organizations from the perspective of Principal Component Analysis and Data Envelopment Analysis: the case of Federal University Hospitals in Brazil

In view of the scenario of hospital organizations, marked by the scarcity of infrastructural, human and material resources, the Federal University Hospitals (Hospitais Universitários Federais – HUFs), supported by the Restructuring National Program of Federal University Hospitals (Programa Nacional de Reestruturação dos Hospitais Universitários Federais – REHUF), since 2010 appears. In this sense, although studies in the literature bring hybrid multi-criteria decision making models based on the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Data Envelopment Analysis’ (DEA) techniques, none fill gaps inherent in DEA, regarding inputs and outputs’ selection, specially involving the performance management of HUFs. Thus, this paper aimed to measure the performance of Brazilian HUFs participating in the REHUF, through the use of the multivariate statistical technique, Principal Component Analysis, and the use of Data Envelopment Analysis, covering theoretical and practical contributions to the academy and hospital organizations. This paper also presented a descriptive and quantitative character; followed the exploratory purpose and the inductive logic, being empirically structured in three stages. In general, it could be inferred that the hospitals characterized as inefficient, so were with regard to the production of medicine residents (MR), by specialty area, for the year 2014. Therefore, they presented a context constituted by high inputs’ consumption, for an average production not so high MR, among the specialties. However, it was showed, throughout the paper, that efficient hospitals have also obtained similar results, but at the cost of lower inputs’ consumption.

Produção e aplicação de um jogo digital como ferramenta pedagógica para o ensino de Geologia

Esta pesquisa descreve a experiência vivenciada por monitores da disciplina Geologia Geral com 23 alunos do primeiro período do curso de Geografia da Universidade de Pernambuco, campus Petrolina. O trabalho objetivou desenvolver e aplicar um jogo digital que contemplasse todo o conteúdo da disciplina, com a finalidade de facilitar o processo de ensino e aprendizagem dos discentes. O método de investigação desenvolvido foi descritivo explicativo, de caráter quantitativo e qualitativo. Um Quiz geológico foi produzido a partir de plataforma gratuita, de baixa complexidade, permitindo maior motivação dos alunos no processo de aprendizagem. O ambiente lúdico e divertido possibilitou abordar conteúdos complexos e abstratos da Geologia. No entanto, apesar de ser considerada uma ferramenta positiva e desafiadora para uso em sala de aula, o recurso ainda é pouco utilizado por professores de diversas áreas do conhecimento.

Fatigue levels among Family Health Strategy professionals in the Brazilian countryside

Introduction: This research addresses fatigue within the team of nursing professionals of the Family Health Strategy (FHS). Objectives: To describe the fatigue levels of FHS nursing professionals. Identify the presence of fatigue among nursing professionals. Method: The research has a descriptive-analytical, quantitative character. Questionnaires were applied to a sample of 112 professionals at basic family health units in the city of Uberlândia, Brasil. Simple and applied statistics were used in order to collect the data. Results: The study showed that the sample had a greater predominance of females, aged between 30 and 49 years, with a greater number of nurses and who have only one job. It was identified with the DUFS questionnaire that 20, 8% say that they always need extra energy to handle their daily tasks and that 36.9% of professionals have had the need to rest more. Thus, this research shows the presence of fatigue in 70.8% of professionals. Conclusion: Evaluating the projections of fatigue on the body, this research shows self-reported signs that are already present signs, which can be recognized as symptoms and that translate signs of compromise, at some level, of the well-being of the workers in question, certainly reflecting on daily life, which may also compromise the health of these workers and their performance.

Burnout Syndrome and Drugs Use in the Family Health Strategy Nursing Team Brazilian

Introduction: This research alludes to Burnout Syndrome within the team of nursing professionals (auxiliaries, technicians and nurses) of the Family Health Strategy (ESF). Objectives: To correlate the occurrence of Burnout Syndrome and drug use among nursing professionals in the Uberlândia Family Health Strategy. Describe the socio-demographic and work characteristics of nursing professionals. To identify the presence of Burnout Syndrome among nursing professionals. To characterize the profile of drug use among nursing professionals. Method: The research has a descriptive-analytical, quantitative character, performed according to CNS Resolution 466/12. Questionnaires were applied in a sample of 112 professionals in the UBSF's of the city of Uberlândia. Simple and applied statistics were used to collect the data. Results: The study showed that the sample was more predominantly female, from the age group of 30 to 49 years (adult phase) that are characteristics of the vulnerability to the disease. The sectors that includes the largest number of professionals are the South and West sectors. It was identified with the MBI - Maslach Burnout Inventory questionnaire that only 4.5% of the sample presented Burnout Syndrome, although it was found that 19.05% showed professional exhaustion and 7.9%, depersonalization. These last data allude that a significant part of the professionals are more likely to develop the Syndrome. In fact, the relationship between drug use and job satisfaction was evaluated, which resulted in alcohol being the drug that had a greater predominance of use in relation to other drugs. With analysis of the statistics, it is perceived that this consumption rises to the level of the use of risk, which is very prone to develop dependency. Conclusion: The research alluded well to the problem. Situational leadership is a way for the health care team leader to decrease the propensity for Burnout Syndrome in their employees. After all, Burnout Syndrome makes it impossible for nurses to commit to nursing, because of its consequences reaching not only the professionals, but also the caregivers.

Estratégias da Faber-Castell Brasil no facebook para ampliar sua visibilidade na ambiência digital

O presente trabalho foi desenvolvido com o objetivo de analisar as estratégias comunicacionais da marca Faber-Castell Brasil, que concentra seus esforços na área comunicacional para o contexto da ambiência digital. O estudo foi realizado a partir das observações de postagens da organização em sua página no Facebook, nos meses de junho e julho de 2017. Com caráter qualitativo quantitativo, através do método de análise de conteúdo, foi possível verificar que a Faber-Castell Brasil carrega, de forma subjetiva, seu posicionamento e mantém, em sua comunicação, a essência dos produtos que a marca comercializa.

Qualidade de vida dos portadores de HIV/AIDS no extremo norte do Brasil

Objetivo: Avaliar a Qualidade de Vida (QV) dos portadores de HIV/AIDS que residem no estado de Roraima e seu impacto sobre o processo saúde-doença. Métodos: Pesquisa transversal, descritiva, de caráter quantitativo, envolvendo 70 participantes, com idades entre 18 a 65 anos. Foram aplicados dois questionários, um sociodemográfico e o WHOQOL-120 HIV específico para avaliar a QV dos portadores de HIV/AIDS. A análise inferencial dos dados foi realizada através do teste T de Student. Resultados: Verificou-se que nos domínios Nível de Independência, Relações Sociais, Meio Ambiente e Espiritualidade/Religiosidade/Crenças, os participantes que ganham mais de um salário mínimo possuem melhores escores de QV. Evidenciou-se que os participantes que possuíam carga viral indetectável, apresentavam melhor QV em relação ao domínio Psicológico. Foi observada também maior prevalência de HIV/AIDS entre os participantes do sexo masculino. Conclusão: Observa-se que as questões financeiras influenciam a QV dessa população apesar dos grandes avanços relacionados à melhoria na qualidade do tratamento e também dos serviços de saúde. Conclui-se que Qualidade de Vida, envolve não somente as características biológicas da doença, mas uma infinidade de fatores que influenciam diretamente no prognóstico e na resposta ao tratamento.

Functional renormalization group for a large moiré unit cell

Layers of two-dimensional materials arranged at a twist angle with respect to each other lead to enlarged unit cells with potentially strongly altered band structures, offering a new arena for novel and engineered many-body ground states. For the exploration of these, renormalization group methods are an appropriate, flexible tool that take into account the mutual influence of competing tendencies. Here we show that, within reasonable, non-trivial approximations, the functional renormalization group known from simpler two-dimensional systems can be employed for the large-unit cell moir\'e superlattices with more than 10.000 bands, remedying the need to employ ad hoc restrictions to effective low-energy theories of a few bands and/or effective continuum theories. This provides a description on the atomic scale, allowing one to absorb available ab-initio information on the model parameters and therefore lending the analysis a more concrete quantitative character. For the case of twisted bilayer graphene models, we explore the leading ordering tendencies depending on the band filling and the range of interactions. The results indicate a delicate balance between distinct magnetically ordered ground states, as well as the occurrence of a charge modulation within the moir\'e unit cell for sufficiently non-local repulsive interaction.

Assessment of the pit influence area on the stress state foundations of the nearby buildings

The article solves the problem of the stress state of a heavy half-plane, weakened by a semicircular recess (modeling a foundation pit) and under the influence of a uniformly distributed load (modeling weight from a nearby building). The solution was obtained in a closed form. Visual calculations results in the form of diagrams and isolines of the total voltage are presented. The resulting solution made it possible to consider two practical problems. In the first statement, to assess the pit parameters’ influence on the components of the additional voltage in the corner zone of the distributed load. In the second statement, to assess the distance influence from the pit to the load on the additional voltage components. The analysis of the obtained solutions is carried out. The quantitative character of the change in the additional stress components, on which the dimensions of the influence zone of the construction pit and the existing buildings foundations’ deformation is of particular practical interest.

KARAKTERISTIK FENOTIPE BEBERAPA SIFAT KUANTITATIF AYAM KAMPUNG DI MINAHASA

PHENOTYPE CHARACTERISTICS OF SOME QUANTITATIVE TRAITS OF NATIVE CHICKEN IN MINAHASA. This study aims to obtain a measure of the phenotypic character of the quantitative traits of native chickens in Minahasa, North Sulawesi. This research was useful as additional information about the quantitative character of native chickens in Minahasa as a reference in efforts to preserve genetic resources (SDG) both for the development of native chickens and other breeding purposes. The material used was 291 male and female native chickens that had been separated by age (6 months and above) and had reached adult sex in the Minahasa Regency. The research method used was descriptive analysis (average, standard deviation, coefficient of variation and correlation) and continued withT-test. Retrieval of data by direct observation and measurement of quantitative properties based on the observed parameters. The results of this study illustrate the phenotypic character of quantitative traits of male and female native chickens in Minahasa where the size of the FL (femur length) and WL (wing length) were not different or the same in both sexes. SC (shank circumference) and CL (comb length) were significantly different (P<0.05), while the trait of TL (tibia length), SL (shank length), TFL (third finger length), CH (comb height) showed differences very significant (P<0.01). It can be concluded quatitavive characteristics of native chicken in Minahasa were diverse and correlate from high to low.Keywords: native chicken, phenotype, quantitative characteristics.

Desafios e possibilidades para o ensino superior: uma experiência brasileira em tempos de COVID-19

A pandemia causada pelo novo coronavírus adquiriu grandes proporções e seu impacto na sociedade tem se tornado cada vez mais significativo. No que diz respeito ao ensino, as instituições buscaram nas estratégias de atividades educacionais remotas, uma alternativa para manter seus alunos em atividade, minimizando as consequências que as políticas de isolamento social poderiam acarretar nas atividades acadêmicas. Este estudo, de caráter descritivo, qualitativo e quantitativo, do tipo relato de experiência, foi elaborado a partir da necessidade de adequação repentina das estratégias pedagógicas na Disciplina de Histologia e Embriologia do Curso de Odontologia de uma universidade pública brasileira. Objetivou-se expor as diferentes possibilidades de estratégias e ferramentas pedagógicas que têm sido utilizadas, bem como analisar o desempenho acadêmico e engajamento dos estudantes. Os docentes da Disciplina buscaram não apenas soluções emergenciais temporárias para dar continuidade à Disciplina, mas se esforçaram em recriar um novo modelo educacional, considerando o uso de metodologias ativas de ensino para uma aprendizagem significativa, mediante o emprego virtual de estratégias pedagógicas e ferramentas digitais, oportunizando o desenvolvimento da autonomia e a auto responsabilidade dos estudantes. Os resultados mostraram engajamento e desempenho promissores dos estudantes, porém este estudo é limitado aos dados em um curto período, tornando necessário o desenvolvimento de estudos longitudinais para avaliar efetivamente os impactos desse modelo educacional não apenas no engajamento e desempenho dos estudantes, mas na sua aprendizagem e na qualidade da educação.

Significado de saúde na perspectiva de portadores de doenças crônicas e de indivíduos saudáveis

Objetivo: Avaliar comparativamente o significado do conceito de saúde na perspectiva de indivíduos portadores de doenças crônicas e de indivíduos saudáveis residentes em Roraima. Métodos: Pesquisa transversal, descritiva e analítica, com caráter qualitativo e quantitativo, que envolveu 50 indivíuos portadores de doenças crônicas e 50 indivíduos saudáveis. Os dados foram coletados através de um questionário sociodemográfico e de uma entrevista aberta. Resultados: A amostra é composta por 37 homens e 63 mulheres. A faixa etária predominante foi 18-35 anos (39%), com ensino fundamental incompleto (29%), renda familiar de até 1 salário mínimo (55%), com religião (94%) e usuários exclusivos do Sistema Único de Saúde (91%). Ao atribuírem um significado à saúde, as categorias de palavras mais frequentes para os dois grupos de participantes foram bem-estar, qualidade de vida e ausência de doença. Conclusão: Apesar do estudo envolver dois grupos distintos em relação ao processo saude-doença, não houve distinção quanto ao significado de saúde entre os participantes.

Perfil epidemiológico de recém-nascidos prematuros internados em uma Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal

O presente estudo tem como objetivo conhecer o perfil epidemiológico de recém-nascidos prematuros internados em uma unidade de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal (UTIN). Trata-se de uma pesquisa com abordagem quantitativa, delineamento transversal e caráter descritivo que foi realizada a partir da análise documental, que avaliou 155 prontuários de Recém-Nascido Prematuro (RNPT), internados entre 01 de janeiro a 31 de dezembro de 2017 em uma UTIN. Os dados foram digitados e armazenados em uma planilha de Excel e analisados por meio de estatística descritiva e inferencial, utilizou-se o Software SPSS versão 20.0. A faixa etária mais prevalente das genitoras estava compreendida no intervalo de 20 a 34 anos (67,1%). Quanto as complicações evidenciadas durante a gestação atual, as intercorrências mais frequentes foram infecção do trato urinário (46,5%) e hipertensão (45,8%). A média de peso ao nascer encontrada foi de 1744,1g. No que se refere ao tempo de internação, constatou-se que a média de dias de internação foi de 37,4. Dentre os motivos mais prevalentes responsáveis pela internação, cabe destacar que (41,9%) eram crianças com baixo peso ao nascer e (30,3%) síndrome do desconforto respiratório. Das variáveis investigadas, observou-se que apenas a situação conjugal solteira apresentou associação estaticamente significante com a variável dependente grau de prematuridade (p=0,049). Espera-se que este estudo possa contribuir para novas pesquisas a respeito da importância de conhecer o perfil epidemiológico do Recém-nascido Prematuro de acordo com o grau da sua prematuridade.

Nível de atividade física e comportamento de risco à saúde de acadêmicos de Educação Física

Este estudo tem como objetivo verificar o nível de atividade física e os comportamentos de risco à saúde de acadêmicos do curso de Educação Física de uma universidade pública do interior do Rio Grande do Sul, a partir de um estudo descritivo exploratório de caráter quantitativo. Para avaliar o nível de atividade física foi utilizado o questionário International IPAQ e para os comportamentos de risco à saúde o questionário Global School-basedStudent Health Survey. Constatou-se que 75% dos acadêmicos realizam atividades físicas benéficas à saúde com intensidade e duração. Entre as variáveis, verificou-se associação significativa entre o consumo de bebidas alcoólicas e consumo de tabaco (p=0,009), entre autopercepção de saúde e consumo de bebidas alcoólicas (p=0,019) e consumo de tabagismo (p=0,025), uma tendência linear positiva entre o uso de drogas ilícitas e o semestre cursado (p=0,048) e, uma tendência linear negativa entre o semestre cursado e o consumo de frutas/legumes (p=0,043). Concluiu-se que a maioria dos pesquisados realizam atividades físicas habitualmente, porém mantém uma alimentação inadequada, ingerem bebidas alcoólicas, fazem uso do tabaco e, um pequeno percentual, utiliza drogas ilícitas com frequência. Apesar de terem comportamento de risco à saúde, os mesmos possuem consciência dos malefícios dessas condutas.

Phenotypic Performance of Expected Lines of Upland Functional Black Rice Resulted from Bulk Selection

This study aimed to know the phenotypic performance of the quantitative character of black rice expected lines resulted from bulk selection. The experimental method was used in this study by using Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) with two replicates. The genetic materials used in this study were 18 rice genotypes consisting of 16 black rice expected lines from bulk selection and two genotypes of parents (Baas Selem and Situ Patenggang). Each genotype was planted in 1 m × 10 m plots, planting space of 25 cm × 25 cm with 1 plant per clump, and conducted at paddy fields in the village of Nyurlembang, Narmada, West Lombok. The study was carried out for 4 months started from February to June 2018. Maintaining the plants includes weeding, pest control, fertilization with 300 kg ha−1 Ponska and 200 kg ha−1 Urea. Results of the study showed that: There were significant differences of harvest date, plant height, number of productive tiller per clump, panicle length, number of filled grains and empty grains, 100 grains weight, and grain yield per hectare. The G12 line was the highest yield (8.25 tons ha−1) which is supported by yield components such as the number of filled grains per panicle (154.63 grains), panicle length (25.08 cm) and the number of productive tillers per clumps (25.80 plants). The grain yield of G12 was not significantly differed from both parent, Situ Patenggang (7.25 tons ha−1) and Baas Selem (6.59 tons ha−1).

Paixão no esporte: uma revisão sistemática no contexto das modalidades individuais

O objetivo do estudo foi conduzir uma revisão sistemática da literatura sobre os estudos que envolvam a paixão e os esportes individuais. As buscas foram conduzidas nas bases de dados Scopus, Sport Discus, PubMed, PsycINFO, Science Direct, Scielo, Lilacs e Web of Science. Os dados foram analisados pela técnica de análise de conteúdo do tipo categorial. A revisão incluiu 18 estudos publicados no período de 2009 a 2018, com caráter quantitativo (94,4%) e qualitativo (5,6%) para investigar a paixão no contexto esportivo. A idade dos participantes esteve entre 12 e 81 anos e a maioria das amostras foi composta de 100 a 300 atletas (76,5%), sendo grande parte dos estudos realizados com ambos os sexos (88,8%) e a maioria das pesquisas desenvolvidas na Europa (50%). Os resultados revelaram maior número de estudos associando características negativas à paixão obsessiva, como o medo de falhar e afetos negativos, além de estar associada à baixa autoestima global, burnout e estresse. Com relação à paixão harmoniosa, foram observadas associações positivas com o afeto positivo, identidade atlética e desempenho esportivo. Concluiu-se que a paixão relacionada aos esportes individuais está associada à fatores psicológicos positivos e negativos, de modo que a predominância destes fatores depende da forma de internalização da paixão na identidade do sujeito, apresentando efeitos benéficos ou não ao seu desempenho e demais atividades realizadas.

MODELOS DE ARRENDAMENTO PORTUÁRIO: UMA PROPOSTA DE REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA DA LITERATURA SOBRE O TEMA

O objetivo do trabalho é realizar investigação e evidenciação das publicações nacionais e internacionais, acerca da temática de modelos de gestão de arrendamento portuário. Trata-se de um estudo aplicado, com caráter quantitativo, cujo delineamento segue as diretrizes de uma pesquisa descritiva, com o emprego da análise bibliométrica como ferramenta de análise. A pesquisa foi procedida nas bases de dados IEEE, Science Direct, Scopus e Web of Science. Como limitação do estudo, obteve-se o não emprego de palavras-chave utilizadas pelos autores nos artigos do portfólio, bem como, o aumento das bases de dados. Sugere-se para trabalhos futuros a ampliação das palavras-chave, a fim de complementar o entendimento das lacunas identificadas no presente estudo e a realização de outras análises ao tema de pesquisa, como a meta análise e a metassíntese.

Karakter Anatomi Daun sebagai Bentuk Adaptasi Tumbuhan Penyusun Zonasi Mangrove di Banggai Kepulauan, Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah

Mangrove is an essential ecosystem that are located in the transition area of fresh and sea water. Therefore, species that grow are typical species that are able to adapt to the saline environment. The aim of this research is to characterize leaf anatomical structure for every species that compose the communities found in each mangrove zonations, including their similarities and dissimilarities characteristic. Sampling of examined leaf was carried out in the mangrove areas of Peling Island and Bakalan Island by making plots in four sites of the mangrove ecosystem area. Methods for leaf anatomical preparations were carried out using the paraffin-tert-butanol and paradermal sections. Anatomical characters as an adaptation to saline habitat are found in all species of mangrove plants, including thick cuticle and epidermal cells, thick leaves and water-storage tissue (hypodermis). In addition, there is found the presence of cork warts and sclereid as characteristic of the genus Rhizophora. Based on quantitative character observations, the mesophyll (palisade to sponge) ratio range from 0.28 ± 0.04 μm to 1.19 ± 0.42 μm, leaf thickness ratio 289,41 ± 38,21 μm to 695,20 ± 97,50 μm and the highest stomata density is owned by Lumnitzera littorea

Nano-quantitative ion character–activity relationships of adsorption of rare earth ions on multi-walled carbon nanotubes

ABSTRACTIn this study, the maximum adsorption capacities (qmax) of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) for 16 rare earth ions were estimated from the experimental data using Langmuir isotherm model. The Langmuir model fitted the experimental data very well, with R2 > 0.98. To explore the impact of ion properties of their adsorption onto MWCNTs, Quantitative Ion Character–Activity Relationships (QICAR) method was applied. The experimental values of qmax were used as dependent variable and the rare earth ions properties were considered as independent variables. Based on covalent index, a new variable was defined which is highly correlated to qmax (correlation coefficient of 0.776). Different variable selection techniques and wrapper models were applied to choose the best subset of variable. Among all developed linear and non-linear models constructed using support vector machine regression (SVR), neural networks, random forest and multiple linear regression, the SVR model presents the best statistical performance. The result of the Wrapper-SVR developed model, with R2c = 0.993 and R2p = 0.794, was excellent than those of other models. The importance of some thermodynamic parameters, Gibbs free energy (ΔG0f) and enthalpy of formation (ΔH0f) of the trivalent lanthanide ions (M+3) at 25°C, indicated the role of thermodynamic aspects on adsorption mechanism. Atomic radius, ionisation energy and electronegativity of rare earth ions should also be considered.

Assessment of genetic divergence using Mahanalobis D2 and principle component analysis in strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa Duch.)

Studies were carried out to assess the genetic divergence among 30 genotypes of strawberry using Mahanalobis D2 and principle component analysis of 19 quantitative characters. Thirty genotypes of strawberry were grouped into six clusters. Maximum (9) genotypes were included in cluster I and minimum (2) in cluster VI. Maximum inter cluster distance (380.23) was observed between cluster I and VI and minimum (205.34) between the cluster V and cluster VI. Principle component analysis showed more than 85.59 per cent of variability for quantitative character in different genotypes. The genotypes of cluster II were observed with days to 50% flowering, days to first harvest, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight, fruit yield per plant, fruit diameter and genotypes of cluster VI for highest mean for petiole length, number of runners per plant, days to fruit set from flowering, pH of juice and ascorbic acid. Ascorbic acid, fruit length, fruit weight and plant height were observed significant variable components and Missionarry, Lucunde, Wild Local (IC-319130) and Chandler were found with maximum value corresponding to these four variables. Selecting genotypes from divergent clusters and utilizing them in hybridization programme is likely to produce desirable recombinants, and may lead to improvement in strawberry for yield and its contributing traits.
