This study aims to elaborate on the concept of children's character education within the family environment according to Buya Hamka. It employs a qualitative approach with a library research method. The data for this study were collected using documentation techniques, which involved reviewing and searching for information in the form of notes, books, journals, and other general scientific works. The analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques. The findings reveal that Buya Hamka emphasizes that the foundation of children's character education begins in the family environment. In this context, parents, specifically fathers and mothers, play a central role in shaping a child's character. The primary aspect of children's education starts and is implemented within the family setting. According to Buya Hamka, several methods can be applied to instill and shape a child’s character. These methods include exemplary behavior, advice, practice, habituation, discussion, and punishment. Additionally, three key steps for character building are identified. Firstly, parents, as the primary educators, must possess a pure and sincere spirit in nurturing their children’s character. Secondly, parents are obligated to provide advice to their children. Thirdly, parents should frequently engage their children in discussions.

Evaluasi Pola Asuh Grand Parenting Pada Karakter Anak SD

This research aims to evaluate the grand parenting approach and its influence on the character development of elementary school children. Grand parenting, which involves grandparents in the caregiving process, plays a crucial role in shaping children's values and attitudes. The methodology employed in this study is a qualitative approach, utilizing in-depth interviews and observations to assess the interactions between grandparents and their grandchildren. The findings reveal that the parenting styles implemented by grandparents significantly contribute to the character development of children, which includes aspects such as moral values, discipline, responsibility, and social skills. Furthermore, the strong emotional bonds between grandparents and grandchildren provide a sense of security and support essential for character development. This indicates the vital role of older generations in supporting children's character education and the need for increased attention to intergenerational relationships within families. Design of an Educational Game for Children: 'Geometry Forest' Using Construct 2

Early childhood education plays a crucial role in building the foundational knowledge and skills that will be used throughout life. This study aims to design and develop an educational game titled "Geometry Forest" using Construct 2, specifically designed to help children understand basic geometry concepts through an interactive and engaging learning experience. The game integrates learning elements such as recognizing geometric shapes, identifying colors, and enhancing cognitive and motor skills, with attractive graphics and a user-friendly interface. The development process includes concept design, asset creation, implementation, and testing, involving young children to evaluate their engagement, enjoyment, and understanding of the material presented. The results show that "Geometry Forest" effectively improves understanding of geometric concepts while providing an enjoyable learning experience, making it a valuable supplementary tool for learning both at school and home, and contributing to the improvement of early childhood education quality through educational game technology.

This research investigates the role of teachers in enhancing the education of children with special needs at the Maulana Nadiqu Foundation in Rantauprapat. Although there is a new policy in Indonesia that prohibits the selection of students based on special needs at the primary level, challenges remain in effectively implementing inclusive education. The main objective of this research is to identify the role of teachers in supporting children with special needs within the context of inclusive education, as well as to explore the methods and strategies used by teachers in addressing these special needs. The research method used includes a qualitative approach with data collection techniques consisting of participatory observation and in-depth interviews with teachers, parents, and students. Data analysis is conducted using thematic techniques to identify patterns, trends, and key themes that emerge from the collected data. The theoretical framework used includes concepts from inclusive education, the role of teachers in special education, and psychological theories related to child development. The results of this research are expected to provide a deeper understanding of the challenges and strategies faced by teachers in the context of inclusive education, as well as their important contributions to improving the quality of education for children with special needs. Architectural Strategies for Fostering Creativity and Enhancing Education for Children with Autism

Students with intellectual disabilities tend to spend most of their time in the classroom. The current research was conducted to create suitable environment for fostering creativity and improving education for children with autism. The type of research was quantitative, and the research data were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS software. specialized questionnaire was designed using expert opinion. The findings showed that, although psychological and biological factors have the highest correlation (T=867), architectural and environmental factors have a greater effect on biological factors (T=0.663) than do psychological factors (T=576). Furthermore, physical, psychological and biological factors having connecting and complementary roles should be considered when improving the quality of education for children with autism. Psychological factors are the influential components, followed by biological needs. Physical variables identified as facilitating psychological and biological needs included the degree of flexibility in quality (light, color and materials) and environmental structure (layout, shape and function).

Fable Puppet Show as an Alternative Communication Media Moral and Character Education of Elementary School Students

Wayang Beber is one of Indonesia's cultural heritages, and it contains moral values relevant to children's character education. This research aims to explore the effectiveness of Wayang Beber Fabel as a visual communication medium in character education for elementary school students, as well as contributing to the preservation of local culture. The research uses a qualitative phenomenological approach. The method involves participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis as data collection techniques. The research subjects included elementary school students and teachers who used Wayang Beber Fabel media in teaching and learning activities. Data analysis was done using thematic methods to understand student responses and identify challenges in implementing this media in the elementary school environment. The research results show that Wayang Beber Fabel can attract students' interest and deepen their understanding of character values such as honesty, responsibility and tolerance. Hopefully, this research will also contribute to character education in Indonesia by presenting local culture-based media that can be integrated into the elementary school curriculum. It is hoped that the findings of this research can promote the use of traditional art as an educational instrument. Not only does it support learning in schools, but it also strengthens national cultural identity.

For some children who grow up in an orphanage environment, they view the orphanage as a facilitator in providing education and good role models. Therefore, foster parents have an important role in children's character education in orphanages. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method by collecting literature sources related to the topic from journals, articles, and other information. The results of the study show that the principles of Pancasila democracy can be implemented by orphanage children by doing play activities, learning in groups, and learning to cooperate.

Eksistensi Lembaga Pondok Pesantren sebagai Pusat Pendidikan Karakter

This study discusses the existence of Islamic boarding school education space to become a center for children's character education. This study uses a library research type. This type of research is used to examine and summarize previously existing theories and then reveal theories related to the research title discussed in several points. The discussion points in this article are: first, the definition of Islamic boarding schools; second, the existence of Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia; third, the basic concept of character education; and fourth, Islamic boarding schools as a center for character education. After conducting a more in-depth theoretical study, the results are presented. The study results show that Islamic boarding school educational institutions, namely the first Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, from their inception until now, have played an important role in shaping students' character by integrating Islamic and cultural values ​​into the learning process. Islamic boarding schools are designed to foster strong and steadfast character in students by emphasizing moral education and religious knowledge.

This community service activity aims to apply the concept of edutainment in childcare as an effort to educate character in poor families. Edutainment is a combination of education and entertainment, expected to be an effective method in educating children's character in underprivileged family environments. The implementation of community service is carried out for parents in Rawa Makmur Village who are included in the data of 28 hopeful family recipients. The methods used include developing materials and forming caregiver groups. The stages of community service are carried out through preparation of activities carried out because of the program family capacity improvement meeting, implementing technical assistance activities in the form of education in the form of counseling and mentoring, and reporting activities. The results of community service are expected to show an increase in parents' understanding of the importance of character education, positive changes in childcare patterns, and better development of children's character in poor family environments. The sustainability of community service activities through the formation of a community of parents who care about children's character education, providing edutainment materials that can be accessed sustainably, and collaborating with educational institutions and local governments to support this program in the long term.

How does an animated video on human sense improving students’ with hearing impairment a concept understanding?

The quality of education for children with special needs must be continuously improved to help them fully develop their potential. However, students with hearing impairments often face challenges in comprehending complex scientific concepts due to limitations in vocabulary and the abstract nature of traditional teaching materials. This study focuses on the development of animated learning videos covering human sensory systems to enhance conceptual understanding among students with hearing impairments. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) and a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design to assess the effectiveness of the videos. The product was tested on 10th-grade students at Special Senior High School of Magelang. Validation results showed that the animated video met the media criteria for validity, while the content criteria achieved high validity with scores of 79.6% and 80.4%, respectively. The effectiveness of the animated videos was further supported by an N-Gain score of 0.78, indicating a high level of improvement in student understanding. These findings suggest that the developed animated videos are highly feasible and effective tools for improving the conceptual understanding of students with hearing impairments.

The school, founded by H. Mai'in Bin H.Ki`in, uses specific traditions and rituals as part of its members' education process. A qualitative approach was applied in this study, with data collection through in-depth interviews and observations of trainers and members. The results show that Pencak Silat MS Jalan Enam Pengasinan functions not only as a martial art, but also as an effective tool in shaping positive character, especially in social and cultural aspects. Thus, pencak silat makes a significant contribution in educating young people who have a strong personality and are able to play a constructive role in their social environment.

Utilizing botley robotics to facilitate the development of computational thinking skills in children with visual impairment

Computational thinking (CT) skills have become increasingly vital in the digital age, particularly for children with visual impairments who often encounter challenges in accessing technological education. This study aims to explore the use of Botley Robotics as a tool to facilitate CT skills and its application in the learning context. Employing qualitative methods through observations, questionnaires, and interviews, this research involved two students with visual impairments from a special needs school in Indonesia, selected through purposive sampling. Botley, a screenless robot, served as the primary learning medium. The data collected were analyzed using the CT framework from Brennan and Resnick, which encompasses three main dimensions: computational concepts, practices, and perspectives. The findings indicate that Botley Robotics effectively facilitates CT skills in students, particularly in areas such as debugging, programming, and logical reasoning. Despite their visual limitations, the students demonstrated the ability to program the robot and understand complex statements and logical operators. The conclusions drawn from this research suggest that Botley can serve as a valuable tool for fostering CT skills among students with visual impairments by integrating concepts from the Brennan Resnick framework. The tactile and auditory feedback provided by Botley enables children to develop problem-solving and logical thinking skills through direct interaction. This study highlights the significance of incorporating robotic technology into inclusive education and demonstrates the substantial potential of Botley Robotics to enhance access to and the quality of education for children with visual impairments. Therefore, it is recommended that this technology be implemented more broadly within the context of inclusive education.

An Appraisal of Nigeria’s Philosophy and Goals of Education on Gender Issues

This paper profiles the Nigeria philosophy and goals of education on gender issues. It relies entirely on secondary data and describes the educational situation in the Nigeria philosophy and goals of education on gender issues bringing out the objectives and strategies that the Nigerian government has embarked upon to provide access and quality education for children. The data shows that the educational prospects are dismal in Nigeria. The paper also observes that the National Policy on education in Nigeria has also overlooked the issue of girl-child education to a large extent. The effect of the policy statement on women is negative as man is the main focus. The paper adopts the feminism theory, using the qualitative design method of analysis to describe/appraise Nigeria philosophy and goals of education as they bother on gender issues. The paper concludes that the National Policy on education should be gender neutral to avoid the negative effect on the girl-child education in Nigeria.

Stories of strength: a systematic review of the use of narratives in character education of children

Character education has a significant role in instilling positive character strengths that help to shape a positive mind, a positive attitude, and positive behavior in children. Next to the commonly used didactic approaches, narrative interventions can be used to ‘package’ key moral messages about character strength in entertaining storylines. Unfortunately, empirical studies on the effectiveness of narrative methods for teaching character education to children is scattered across different disciplines. This review aimed to comprehensively describe the published studies, and identify the main elements used for children’s character education in the narratives. Eight databases of studies published between January 1980 and March 2018 were searched for narrative interventions that focused on character education aimed at children. The searches yielded seven studies with a great variety in outcome measures. Findings consistently suggest that narratives with positive approaches can generate honesty and kindness effectively in children. Employing a positively framed story, giving instructions, and encouraging children to explain the key story events half way and at the end of the story can especially produce preferable results in adopting the character strengths.

Comparison of Intrinsic Elements of Indonesian and German Children's Literature to Enrich Character Education for Indonesian Children

Children's literature has many benefits, including being a medium of entertainment and a medium for character education for children. Children's literature contains various noble values that readers can internalize daily. This research uses two objects of children's literature: the Indonesian children's literature book Dru dan Negeri Lima Kerajaan by Clara Ng and Renata Owen and the German novel Apfelkuchen und Baklava by Kathrin Rohmann. This research aims to compare two intrinsic elements from the two novels as material for character education for students in Indonesia. The intrinsic elements in both novels are characters, setting, theme, and message. The research results show that the intrinsic elements of both novels have symbolic meanings that contain noble values such as patience, courage, kindness, sincerity, acceptance, and openness. Therefore, it can be concluded that the two novels can be used as material for enriching student and Indonesian character education and cultivating global character.

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to describe the form, function (of language) and meaning of Satua (Folklore) I Siap Selem from a Cultural Linguistic perspective. Research methods: This research is descriptive qualitative in nature using primary data collected using the observation method with the help of note-taking techniques. Data were analyzed using the matching method and the agih method and the results were presented using formal and informal techniques. Results and discussion: The form of Satua I Siap Selem is a discourse in the form of fictional prose. The general function of Satua I Siap Selem is as a means of entertainment, while based on the communicative function of language its functions are informational, expressive, directive, aesthetic and phatic. The implied meaning of Satua I Siap Selem states mutual love and togetherness, mutual respect and mutual help, evil or cunning, ingenuity and responsibility, as well as stupidity. Implications: Satua I Siap Selem contains a good life philosophy and moral messages so it is very good to serve as bedtime entertainment and character education for children.

Character education for children in orphanages from a religious education perspective is problematic and challenging. This is because the methods and implementation of character education are different from education in schools. The results of this research show that there is a relationship between character education in a Hindu religious perspective in orphanages That's right plays a very important role in shaping the character of the children there. It is clear that the children at the orphanage have experienced a positive character transformation thanks to the Hindu religious education provided in a structured and continuous manner.
