Research on the Reform Path of College Physical Education Teaching under the Background of Sports-Education Integration

With the deepening and development of higher education reform in China, the integration of sports and education has become an important direction of the current physical education reform. Carrying out the integration of sports and education in college physical education teaching will effectively guarantee the reform and development of physical education, promote the construction of an education service system of discipline integration, improve collaborative education in colleges and universities under the background of sports-education integration, laying a good foundation for colleges to better improve the teaching quality of physical education curriculum and carry out the integration of sports and education. In addition, it can promote the healthy growth of students. In this regard, this paper first expounds on the significance of the reform of college physical education under the background of the integration of sports and education and then puts forward the effective reform path, in order to provide some references for the relevant education researchers.

Design of Public Physical Education Curriculum Quality Evaluation System Based on the “5V” Characteristics of Computer Big Data

In order to improve the teaching effect of public physical education courses to the greatest extent and lay the foundation for the process of teaching reform, this paper puts forward the design of a public physical education course quality evaluation system based on the “5V” characteristics of computer big data. Analyze the characteristics of big data “5V” and study its application in public physical education courses; analyze the action estimation, prior, and update, failure recovery of public physical education course teaching, and get the three-dimensional visual positioning result of public physical education course teaching; collect the upper arm action image, extract the upper arm action image contour feature through edge contour detection, analyze the contour feature error characteristics, obtain the pixel component weighted value of the contour feature, further obtain the fuzzy error value of the upper arm action image contour feature through calculation, and according to the fuzzy error value, the design of public physical education course quality evaluation system is completed. The experimental results show that the average error recognition accuracy of the research method is 99.63%. The class hours are adjusted according to the proportion of disciplines, and the corresponding teaching plan is formulated. The accuracy of recommending internship posts for students is relatively high.

Strategies to Manage Vocational Education to Excellence

This research aimed to develop strategies to manage vocational education to excellence using the Research and Development (R&D) methodology. The study included two phases. Phase 1 involved analyzing fundamental data and needs for vocational education management. The sample was 206 school directors from eight types of vocational institutions under the Office of the Vocational Education Commission. The researchers determined the sample using Taro Yamane’s formula (stratified random sampling) and interviews with experts from three selected model vocational institutions. Phase 2 involved creating strategies through discussions with experts from nine higher education and vocational institutions. Data analysis included percentages, means, standard deviations, and the modified Priority Needs Index (PNImodified). Results showed that the current status of basic data was at a high level overall, while the expected status was at the highest level, with a PNImodified of 0.179. The strategies for vocational education management towards excellence included: 1) Enhancing professional management efficiency; 2) Developing competency-based curriculum quality to international standards; 3) Improving teaching and learning quality; 4) Developing teacher and staff quality to specialized expertise; 5) Building comprehensive human resource development networks; and 6) Enhancing graduate quality to high-competency human resources. The evaluation of these strategies indicated that they were highly appropriate and feasible.

Epistemology and its Application in the World of Education

The development of education in Indonesia continues to face various challenges, including the quality of teachers, curriculum, budget, and education regulations. This research aims to analyze the role of epistemology in improving the quality of education through the application of the philosophy of knowledge in the learning process. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method to explore the concept of epistemology and its application in education. The main findings indicate that idealism, realism, pragmatism, and existentialism epistemologies can be integrated into learning to enhance educational effectiveness. Each philosophical school contributes to the development of critical thinking, creativity, and learner autonomy. This research concludes that the comprehensive application of epistemology can strengthen teaching methods and produce more independent and critical individuals, ultimately improving the quality of education in Indonesia.

Education and Welfare: The Role of Public Policy in Equalizing Educational Opportunities for the South Papua Generation

This research aims to identify public policies that increase access to education in South Papua, analyze their impact on educational equality, and evaluate the factors that influence the effectiveness of these policies, including the social, economic, and cultural challenges faced by local communities. This research uses qualitative methods and a case study approach to investigate the role of public policy in improving access and quality of education in Merauke Regency, especially Waan District. Through a purposive sampling approach, this research selected a representative sample to explore challenges and solutions in education in the region. The research instrument includes indicators such as access to education, quality of education, community involvement, and the impact of education policies, which will be analyzed comprehensively using a qualitative approach. The research results show that public policy has increased access to education in South Papua through infrastructure, scholarship programs, and improving the quality of teachers and curriculum. The development of educational infrastructure, including school buildings and learning facilities, has a positive impact on the accessibility and quality of education in the region. The scholarship program needs to be updated to reach the right targets and be effective for the people who need it. Improving teacher quality and adjusting the curriculum supports education standards in South Papua, but needs to be further encouraged through continuous training. Social factors such as economic inequality, gender inequality, and traditional culture influence access to education, requiring a holistic approach to education policy. Education in lifestyle medicine for future physicians – a strategy to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease

ABSTRACT There is a compelling need to improve all physicians’ knowledge on lifestyle medicine (LM). This training needs to start early during medical education. This case report describes the feasibility and effects of integrating LM into an existing core curriculum of a Swedish undergraduate medical programme. A curriculum development project was organized using a six-step model: general needs assessment, targeted needs assessment, goals and objectives, educational strategies, implementation, and evaluation. New learning objectives regarding health, prevention and lifestyle medicine were formulated throughout the five-and-a-half-year programme. Learning activities and examinations were integrated in all courses with a structured progression and with focus on preventive activities in the workplace learning. The project was evaluated using student surveys of curricular quality, teacher survey of curricular content and integration in 2020, and an external review of adherence to the national qualitative target on preventive medicine. The project was executed during 2017–2018. Course evaluations and exit poll at graduation showed an overall high-quality student rating of education in prevention and in lifestyle counselling: on average, a score of 4.1/5 and 4.1/6, respectively. The teacher survey showed that over 70% of courses had a lasting increase in LM curricular content and that this content was to a large extent integrated into the existing course material. The external review concluded that the topic was well covered and integrated into the curriculum. LM could be successfully integrated into an existing medical programme curriculum with positive effects on student learning.

Diversified promotion: A practical analysis of Macao’s continuing education development and improvement program

Macao’s Continuing Education Development and Improvement Program aims to create lifelong learning conditions for Macao residents who have reached the age of 15 and encourage them to pursue continuing education or obtain certification to improve their personal qualities. This paper analyzes the entire implementation process of the Continuing Education Development and Improvement Program in Macao, using the traditional means of policy analysis from three perspectives. For the government, successful implementation ensures the quality of continuing education and promotes the building of a learning society in Macao. For educational institutions, this program provides residents with multiple learning pathways to meet diversified needs. For residents, it alleviates the cost pressure caused by education and promotes individual development in various aspects. However, there are still some problems in the subsequent implementation process that need to be improved, such as unclear positioning, inadequate administrative supervision mechanisms, and a weak guarantee of curriculum quality.

Incorporating Environmental Elements in Learning STEM: A Systematic Literature Review

Incorporating environmental elements in STEM learning can foster a deeper understanding of living world issues and promote sustainable solutions. The study's inclusion criteria consisted of empirical articles in English aligned with research questions published in a scholarly journal between 2007 and 2023. Participants included students and pre-service teachers. After quality assessment using PRISMA procedures, 18 eligible studies were identified in this systematic review. Thematic analysis was used to find themes within the STEM program data findings connected with environmental elements. The framework can be organised into three categories: problem-based learning, inquiry-based learning, and project-based learning. Practice recommendations include a quality curriculum that aligns with environmental education.

Peran Manajemen Pendidikan dalam Mewujudkan Sekolah Berkualitas

Optimizing education management in schools is a strategic step to achieve superior education quality, where various aspects such as human resource development, utilization of facilities and infrastructure, and education supervision play an important role in creating a conducive learning environment and responsive to student needs. The purpose of this study is to examine more deeply the role of education management in realizing quality schools. The research method to be used in this study is a literature study approach, in which data and information will be collected from various academic sources, such as books, journals and relevant articles on education management and quality schools. The results of this study show that effective education management plays a key role in creating quality schools through key components such as human resources, facilities and infrastructure, finance and education supervision. Each of these components works synergistically to support optimal learning processes, although they often face challenges such as limited resources, resistance to change and lack of stakeholder support. Through collaborative strategies from various parties, including the government, community and parents, schools can overcome these obstacles. Optimizing education management complemented by educational supervision helps improve the professional quality of teachers, curriculum and school management, and builds a culture of continuous evaluation. This synergy results in schools that are qualified, adaptive and able to respond to the demands of today's education.

Optimising Curriculum Quality Assessment in Application‐Oriented Universities: A Student‐Centric Approach Using Entropy and Cloud Model

ABSTRACTClassroom instruction is the cornerstone of teaching methodologies, supported by educational and pedagogical research. It is the primary way students acquire knowledge and skills. The quality of the curriculum directly affects the effectiveness of personnel training. Assessing the curriculum quality is crucial for improving classroom instruction. Establishing a scientifically sound evaluation framework is essential for fostering a strong educational ecosystem and creating a sustainable mechanism for long‐term educational advancement. This study addresses the challenges in assessing course quality in application‐oriented universities. It identifies assessment parameters through expert consultation and adopts a ‘student perception’ perspective. Using the entropy weight method, the importance of each parameter is determined. A curriculum quality evaluation model based on the cloud model is then formulated. Finally, the practical application of this evaluation model is demonstrated. This approach provides a theoretical basis for refining curriculum quality evaluation systems in higher education institutions.

Determinants of Poor Academic Performance among Secondary School Students in Mogadishu Somalia

The study examines the key factors contributing to the poor academic performance of secondary school students in Mogadishu, Somalia. The primary objectives of this research were: to investigate the relationship between limited access to quality education and academic performance; to examine the impact of economic challenges, such as poverty and inability to afford education expenses, on student performance; to explore the role of instability and cultural attitudes towards education; to determine the influence of curriculum quality; and to evaluate the impact of education policy and support. The study employed a quantitative, descriptive research design to achieve these objectives. The target population consisted of 135 head teachers and teachers from the Northern Zone of the Banadir region, which was selected as the most populated area in terms of schools. A sample of 82 respondents was utilized for the investigation.The findings indicate that the various factors examined in the study, including access to quality education, economic challenges, instability, cultural attitudes, curriculum quality, and education policy and support, all have a significant influence on the poor academic performance of secondary school students in Mogadishu. The influential nature of these factors highlights the need for a comprehensive plan to address the issue, which the researcher recommends should involve infrastructure improvements, teacher training, policy updates, awareness campaigns, psychosocial support, and the establishment of collaborative parent-teacher associations and school committees.

Series Introduction

THE FUSED health education series was developed as a one-stop guide for developing a quality curriculum for teaching health education. This first, two-part article introduces a new approach to teaching health education called THE FUSED Technique. THE stands for Teaching Health Education and FUSED stands for Functional (data driven) information, Using health-behavior outcomes (HBOs), Skill-based cues, Engaging teaching strategies, and Daily application in developing health-literate K-12 students. THE FUSED Technique was developed to teach health skills and content to today's K-12 learners. It focuses on lifelong health literacy and helps bridge standards-based and skill-based health education. At its core, FUSED is a skill-based health education teaching technique that engages K-12 students by using a variety of participatory methods to ensure that students have ample opportunities to practice and develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to lead healthy lives. Part 1 of this article describes how to build a FUSED unit and lesson, and Part 2 will describe how to implement a FUSED lesson.

Tata Kelola Administrasi Kurikulum dan Perpustakaan : Analisis Kualitas Layanan untuk Mahasiswa di SMK Plus Nahdlatul Ulama Sidoarjo

Education plays a crucial role in shaping competent and competitive human resources. At SMK Plus Nahdlatul Ulama Sidoarjo, the success of education relies not only on a quality curriculum but also on effective administrative management and supporting facilities such as libraries. This study aims to analyze the quality of curriculum administration and library services using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that good governance in curriculum administration and library services significantly impacts student satisfaction. Recommendations are expected to assist further development in the management of the curriculum and library, enabling students to optimally utilize educational resources.

The application of curriculum analytics for improving assessments and quality assurance in higher education

Curriculum mapping is a necessary process for establishing evidence of where learning outcomes are taught and assessed in higher education programmes. Mapping ensures the credibility of the institution and programme offerings and provides students with a clear understanding of what they can expect to learn and achieve during their academic studies. Well-mapped curricula that reference relevant standards and articulate aligned assessments are foundational for effective teaching and learning. Curriculum quality assurance measures are commonly accepted as a means of assuring accurate mapping. Assurance processes are, however, resource-intensive, error-prone and reflect human biases. Few studies have adopted an analytical approach to ensure programme quality assurance steps are traceable to a fundamental level of these maps: single courses and their assessment items. In this study, we adopted a novel curriculum analytics methodology to validate the mapping of professional standards to course-based assessments in a higher education degree program. Using an Australian initial teacher education programme as a case study, we applied and analysed results from a structured methodology that may be implemented across other disciplinary programs. Practical implications for quality assurance in higher education and the methodological contributions of this novel approach are further discussed. Implications for practice or policy: Quality assurance mechanisms in higher education serve to demonstrate that specific accreditation standards have been attained or maintained. An evidence-based approach is needed to ensure curriculum mapping and quality assurance. This study's novel curriculum analytics approach provides a robust foundation for demonstrating assessments’ compliance with accreditation standards at the degree program level. A data-driven approach for quality assurance presents opportunities for wider and scalable applications across other institutions.

Penerapan Manajemen Balance Scorecard (BSC): Studi Kasus di MIS Miftahul Ulum Kec. Serpong Utara Kota Tangerang Selatan

The implementation of Balanced Scorecard (BSC) management at MIS Miftahul Ulum, Serpong Utara District, South Tangerang City is still facing some obstacles. The lack of understanding and accurate data, structured systems, resources, and accountability culture are the main barriers. This has resulted in the suboptimal achievement of strategic goals, such as learning, internal process, customer, and financial indicators that are not yet maximized. The purpose of this study is to determine the extent to which the implementation of Balanced Scorecard (BSC) management at MIS Miftahul Ulum, reviewed from four perspectives, namely: financial, customer, internal process, and learning and growth. This research is qualitative, with data collection methods including interviews, observations, and documentation. Data validity is ensured through triangulation, and data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research shows that the quality of education at MIS Miftahul Ulum, Serpong Utara District, South Tangerang City has improved compared to previously. However, some adjustments need to be made in the implementation of Balanced Scorecard (BSC). Conclusion: MIS Miftahul Ulum focuses on diversifying funding sources, increasing the efficiency of fund management, and increasing income from voluntary donations. Customer satisfaction and making MIS Miftahul Ulum the main school of choice for students and parents. Progress in its internal processes by implementing a quality curriculum, an effective teaching and learning process, and timely completion of teaching and learning tasks, and a quality curriculum provides a strong foundation for students to learn and grow. Effectiveness of the teaching and learning process: An effective teaching and learning process allows students to reach their full learning potential. Timely completion of teaching and learning tasks: Timely completion of teaching and learning tasks ensures that students have enough time to learn and understand the subject matter.

Conceptual framework of current school curriculum monitoring

The issue of monitoring the school curriculum according to the curriculum taught/curriculum learned is part of the issue of educational curriculum management. As a rule, this issue is addressed alongside the issues of conceptualization, design and implementation of the school curriculum. In other words, monitoring occurs at all stages of designing and implementing the school curriculum. In the given article, a concept of monitoring the school curriculum is proposed from the perspective of curricular/scientific research, but also from the perspective of continuity in the development of school curriculum. Continuity of curriculum development implies continuity of curriculum monitoring. Monitoring is a process of tracking, observing and supervising the functioning of school curriculum, in which information and data on the quality of taught curriculum are collected, analyzed and interpreted and decisions are made to realize the reverse connection and perspectives of continuous development of the school curriculum. The process of continuous monitoring of the school curriculum in function is carried out in stages and by means of specific tools: indicators, descriptors, methods. The emphasis is on the self-monitoring of taught-learned curriculum by the teacher in the classroom, being an active participant in the continuous development of the discipline taught curriculum.

Measures Teachers’ Perceptions of Differentiated Instruction : A Combination of Guttman Scale and Item Response Theory

This study aims to develop an instrument for teachers’ perceptions of differentiated instruction by adopting Oriondo and Antonio's instrument development model. This study involves three stages of development: instrument planning, pilot testing, and measurement. The respondents involved were 152 subject teachers at the secondary school level. The instrument developed contains differentiated instruction principles: learning environment, quality curriculum, responsive teaching, continuous assessment, and leadership and routines. A combination of the Guttman Scale and Item Response Theory was used to measure teachers' perceptions, which gave significant results. The analysis results show that most instrument items follow the model used, but some items require adjustment. The implication of this study is the importance of developing valid and reliable instruments to measure teachers' perceptions of differentiated instruction. The findings can contribute to improving classroom learning practices and student learning outcomes. Thus, this study provides a strong foundation for the development of teacher professionalism and the overall improvement of education quality.

Needs assessment of military medicine education curriculum in medical students and upcoming challenges

ABSTRACT Introduction: The curriculum of military medicine for medical students of universities of military medical sciences is a priority and a practical goal. Paying attention to the educational needs of students creates vitality and motivation among students for better learning and improving the learning environment. Frequent monitoring and updating of the content of military courses and modern teaching improve the quality and quantity of the military medicine curriculum. Materials and Methods: This applied, inductive, and exploratory descriptive was conducted in a single cross-sectional and qualitative method. The data were collected using the brainstorming method and individual and collective Delphi techniques. The population included the medical students of Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran, who completed the course in military medicine. The data were collected by purposive sampling and classified until the saturation limit was reached. EXCEL 2019 and MAXQDA2020 software were used for data analysis. Findings: This research was carried out in collaboration with the military medicine department of the university to identify the needs of students in the military medicine curriculum. First, the findings were collected in 22 axes. In the next step, the needs were prioritized in the four main components of the combat medicine curriculum (1 goal, 2 content, 3 teaching strategy, 4 evaluation), and the results were extracted. Conclusion: Identifying the needs of students; improving the current military medicine curriculum; paying attention to individual differences, interests, and talents of students; and enhancing the motivation and level of satisfaction of students are the study results.

INFLUENCE OF TEACH ER QUALITY ON IMPLEMENTATION OF NIGERIA CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATION FOR SOCIAL STUDIES MINIMUM STANDARD IN COLLEGES OF EDUCATION IN NORTH-CENTRAL-NIGERIA

The research looked into the “Influence of Teacher Quality on Implementation of NCE for Social Studies Curriculum in Colleges of Education in North- Central-Nigeria. For the study, two objectives, two related research questions, and two null hypotheses were developed. With 165 Social Studies lecturers as the target population and the same number as the sample size, the study was conducted using a descriptive survey approach. A validated questionnaire titled "Teacher Quality and Implementation of NCE Social Studies Curriculum (TQINSSC)" was created by the researcher; the instrument's reliability index was 0.85. Descriptive statistics and independent sample t-test statistics were used to analyse the data that was gathered. Frequencies and percentages were utilised to analyse the demographic variables and mean and standard deviation were employed to address the study issues. An independent t-test was utilised to assess null hypotheses at a significance threshold of P<0.05 alpha. One null hypothesis was accepted, and the other was rejected. It was discovered that there was no discernible difference in the quality of instruction or the application of the NCE Social Studies Minimum Standard between lecturers who were male and female and the educational background of the lecturer. Based on the lecturer's educational background and gender, there was no discernible difference between the NCE Social Studies Minimum Standard implementation and the resources' availability. A notable distinction was observed between the average evaluations of teachers by state and federal colleges of education, as well as the effectiveness and application of the NCE Social Studies Minimum Standard. It was recommended that the employment of social studies lecturers in colleges of Education should not be based on gender; state and federal governments should commit to adequate funding for colleges of Education to enhance teacher quality.

The Concept of Quality in Curriculum

The curriculum is a description of what students should learn in school. The curriculum itself includes many subjects and objects to be applied in educational institutions. Teachers, material subjects, students, and many other things are required to achieve worthwhile and useful learning outcomes and then realize the aim of education. The quality of the curriculum is important to the success of education in order to create students who become good people in society. This paper discusses the concept of quality in curriculum education in general. The aim of the research is to clarify the perception of curriculum quality based on references to international and national curricula. The authors used qualitative research with literature review technique compilation data. This paper summarizes the views and perceptions of national curriculum and UNESCO curriculum quality by analyzing the curriculum implemented in Indonesia. The result revealed that the quality of the curriculum has four criteria (development, the curriculum, the implementation, and evaluation) that are then developed to obey the education national standard (SNP): competence of graduates standards, contents standards, process standards, and assessment standards. Based on the data, almost 70% of the implementation of the development and improvement of the Merdeka Indonesia curriculum is going well. To date, there are 293,373 formal education units that have implemented the Merdeka curriculum optimally.
