A generalization of the deformed algebra of quantum group SU(2)q for Hopf algebra

A generalization of the deformation of Lie algebra of the SU(2) group is established for the Hopf algebra, by modifying the J3 component in all of its defining commutators. The modification is carried out in terms of a polynomial f, of J3, and the q-deformation parameter, which contains the known q-deformation functionals as its particular cases.

For a complex q-deformation parameter, the analytical energy expression of ${\mathrm{SO}}_{\mathit{q}}$(6) symmetry is shown to give all the three limiting symmetries of the U(6) group as well as all the intermediate results of mixed symmetries; i.e., it works equivalently as the numerically solvable general Hamiltonian of the s, d interacting boson model (IBM). Also, a symmetry triangle, equivalent to Casten's symbolic symmetry triangle for the IBM, is obtained. The q-deformation parameter is found to behave as the symmetry mixing parameter, similar to one in the IBM. Applications are made to a range of nuclei, covering all the possible cases.

Deviation of the SUq(2) prediction from observations in even-even deformed nuclei.

The validity of the quantum group ${\mathrm{SU}}_{\mathit{q}}$(2) expression for the nuclear rotational spectrum is investigated thoroughly. Analysis [including the Mallmann plots, the relations for the I(I+1) expansion coefficients, energy spectra, etc.] definitely display a systematical deviation of the ${\mathrm{Su}}_{\mathit{q}}$(2) prediction from the experimental data available for the even-even rare-earth and actinide nuclei. Only within a limited range of angular momentum the ${\mathrm{Su}}_{\mathit{q}}$(2) expression is suitable for rotational spectra. A significant angular momentum dependence of the q-deformation parameter is found. The q deformation is directly related to the nuclear softness.
