1. Combined alloying of chromium steel (17% Cr) with titanium and vanadium almost completely suppresses α⇌γ transformations in the grain boundaries. Titanium combines carbon in stable carbides and vanadium is found mainly in the α solid solution. 2. Due to the absence of hard boundary interlayers resulting from α⇌γ transformations, steel 0Kh18F2T1 has higher ductility than other ferritic stainless steels of the same purity in terms of interstitial elements (C+N).
