The Impact of Achievement Orientation on Goal Clarity

Purpose: This study is to enrich the scientific paradigm in the field of Islamic education management, and to explore the effect of achievement-oriented leadership style on the goal clarity, particularly the study of organizational behavior. Study design/methodology/approach: This study employs a quantitative research approach using the survey method. The population consists of all teachers employed in a private Islamic high school in one of the provinces in Indonesia. The sample size was determined to be 120 in number, selected through the area sampling technique. Data collection utilized a questionnaire featuring a Likert scale as the primary instrument. Findings: It revealed that being achievement-oriented has a direct positive impact on goal clarity. The conclusion of this study is that the achievement-oriented, approach influences the goal clarity of Islamic Private High School in one of the provinces in Indonesia. Originality/value: In light of these criteria, the observed t-value (11.11) surpasses the tabulated t-value (1.98), leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0) and acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (H1). The research hypothesis asserts a direct influence of achievement-oriented heads of Islamic Private High School (X1) on the goal clarity of Islamic Private High School (X2), which is supported by the evidence.

Determinan Tingkat Kemiskinan Di Indonesia

Poverty is a problem in the development process in most countries, especially in developing countries such as Indonesia. Analyzing the factors that influence poverty is important in formulating effective and targeted policies. This study aims to analyze the independent variables of village funds, unemployment rate, human development index (HDI), and gross regional domestic product (GRDP) affecting the dependent variable of the number of poor people in Indonesia in 2022. The study used the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) model to analyze cross-section data from 34 provinces in Indonesia in 2022. The results show that village funds and GRDP have a significant positive influence on the number of poor people, but HDI and unemployment rate do not have a significant influence. The findings make a significant contribution to understanding the factors that contribute to the poverty rate in Indonesia, as well as providing a basis for formulating more effective development policies to reduce the poverty rate in the future.

The Influence of Economic Openness on Income Inequality Among Provinces in Indonesia

Economic growth is a macro indicator to measure the success of development, so all countries strive to achieve high economic growth to create prosperity for the society, especially for developing countries. At the beginning of economic growth, income inequality will increase, but over time, income inequality will decrease. This research was conducted to analyze the influence of economic growth rate, non-oil export ratio, non-oil import ratio, and foreign direct investment ratio on income inequality among provinces in Indonesia. The data used in this study is panel data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency covering 34 provinces in Indonesia from 2018 to 2022. The results of this study indicate that the economic growth rate has a positive but not significant effect on income inequality in Indonesia, the non-oil import ratio has a positive and significant effect on income inequality in Indonesia, the foreign direct investment ratio has a negative but not significant effect on income inequality in Indonesia, while the non-oil export ratio does not have a significant effect on income inequality in Indonesia.

Pengaruh Kualitas Pelayanan, Harga, dan Fasilitas terhadap Kepuasan Penumpang pada PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Cabang Kupang

<p><em>East Nusa Tenggara is one of the provinces in Indonesia which is known as an archipelagic province. As an archipelagic province, PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Kupang Branch is considered an important service to be able to connect one area with another area. Service quality, price, and facilities are important factors related to passenger satisfaction. Passenger satisfaction in using sea transportation services is of course determined by several factors taken by researcher in this research, namely service quality, price, and facilities offered by PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Kupang Branch. The research aims to determine the influence of service quality, price, and facilities on passenger satisfaction, both simultaneously and partially. The research population is PT service users ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Kupang Branch with a total of 55 respondents. Purposive sampling was chosen by the researcher as the sampling technique. Multiple linear regression analysis was carried out to analyze the data with the help of SPSS 25.0 for Windows. The results show that service quality, price, and facilities simultaneously affect passenger satisfaction, service quality partially has no effect on passenger satisfaction, price partially has no effect on passenger satisfaction and facilities partially influence passenger satisfaction.</em></p>

Recovery time of the hotel and restaurant sector in Indonesia after COVID-19 crisis: a survival analysis

PurposeThe COVID-19 pandemic severely impacted tourism, and the hotel and restaurant industry was the most affected sector, which faced issues related to business uncertainty and unemployment during the crisis. The analysis of recovery time and the influence factors is significant to support policymakers in developing an effective response and mitigating the risks associated with the tourism crisis. This study aims to investigate numerous factors affecting the recovery time of the hotel and restaurant sector after the COVID-19 crisis by using survival analysis.Design/methodology/approachThis study uses the quarterly value added with the observation time from quarter 1 in 2020 to quarter 1 in 2023 to measure the recovery status. The recovery time refers to the number of quarters needed for the hotel and restaurant sector to get value added equal to or exceed the value added before the crisis. This study applies survival models, including lognormal regression, Weibull regression, and Cox regression, to investigate the effect of numerous factors on the hazard ratio of recovery time of hotels and restaurants after the COVID-19 crisis. This model accommodates all cases, including “recovered” and “not recovered yet” areas.FindingsThe empirical findings represented that the Cox regression model stratified by the area type fit the data well. The priority tourism areas had a longer recovery time than the non-priority areas, but they had a higher probability of recovery from a crisis of the same magnitude. The size of the regional gross domestic product, decentralization funds, multiplier effect, recovery time of transportation, and recovery time of the service sector had a significant impact on the probability of recovery.Originality/valueThis study contributes to the literature by examining the recovery time of the hotel and restaurant sector across Indonesian provinces after the COVID-19 crisis. Employing survival analysis, this study identifies the pivotal factors affecting the probability of recovery. Moreover, this study stands as a pioneer in investigating the multiplier effect of the regional tourism and its impact on the speed of recovery.

Influence of vegetation index to the rainfall intensity in Pasuruan Area, East Java Province, Indonesia

An increase in population increases the rate of urbanization. This results in changes in land cover from vegetation to artificial material. As a result, much of the land surface reflects the sun's energy. Consequently, this increases the surface temperature of the land. An increase in land surface temperature (LST) will increase the intensity of rainfall. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the relationship between the increase in LST and rainfall intensity. Changes in land cover can be detected by normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and normalized difference built-up index (NDBI) parameters. Landsat satellite imagery was used to detect NDVI, NDBI, and LST. Image processing was done for imageries scanned in 1995, 2015, 2017, and 2021. Two areas in the East Java Province of Indonesia, namely Malang City and Pasuruan Area, were selected. The daily rainfall intensity data were collected from related rainfall stations in the same year. The Mononobe method was applied to analyze hourly and minute rainfall intensity. IDF curves were drawn from the analyzed results. The relationship between both parameters was analyzed by comparing the LST and hourly rainfall intensity from the IDF curve. The studied results showed that the maximum temperature increase from 1995 to 2021 for the Malang City and Pasuruan Area was 2.60 C and 7.60 C, respectively. For rain, the maximum rainfall intensity increased by 58 mm for Malang City and 18 mm for the Pasuruan Area. LST and rainfall intensity change trends of the two areas had a positive coefficient of regression. The findings can be used to predict the rainfall intensity and floods based on the LST data.

Strategies of Regional Levies of the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Office of Central Java Province of Indonesia

There is still a need to properly increase the role of regional levies in generating revenue for Central Java Province. This is because each region has been granted the authority to manage its affairs, including regional finance, with the expectation that regional governments will become financially independent from the central government. In reality, many regions in Indonesia and other countries still significantly rely on the central government for financial support. Therefore, regional governments must focus on increasing revenue by improving the management of regional levies at the Regional Apparatus Organizations. This is achieved through the development of strategies for the regional levies sector based on the SWOT analysis results and the projected regional levies revenue of the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Office of Central Java Province. This research aimed to identify strategies, create strategies for regional levies, and analyze the projected revenue from these levies. This is expected to support efforts to increase regional levies revenue. This research used primary and secondary data. The primary data were obtained through interview results with key informants to assess the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats faced by the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Office in collecting regional levies. Meanwhile, secondary data comprised information on regional levies and relevant references on the Regional Apparatus Organization. The data collected were analyzed using the SWOT and multiple linear regression analyses as analytical techniques. The results showed the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats used to collect regional levies and also the strategies. Based on the projected revenue, the levies generated by this Regional Apparatus Organization are projected to increase from 2022 to 2027 steadily. The implications include recommendations for activities carried out by the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Office, which aligned with the potential and capabilities of the regional and central government regulations governing regional levies.

Undergraduate students’ learning experiences and strategies in online learning during the pandemic: An Indonesian perspective

Transitions in learning implementation have occurred at various levels of education during the COVID-19 pandemic. Learning that previously took place in conventional, face-to-face formats has been adjusted to fully online learning. Not all educational institutions are equally prepared for a pandemic, necessitating the study of student learning experiences and the strategies they employ in online classes during the pandemic. This study focuses on the positive and negative contributions of Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) features in student learning experiences and strategies during the pandemic. This study used a survey method consisting of closed- and open-ended questions. Data analysis using descriptive statistics and qualitative data analysis was employed to obtain several themes. Approximately 1,400 students from 23 higher education institutions across several provinces in Indonesia participated in this research. The results show both positive and negative contributions of VLE features. Among the VLE features that positively contribute to learning during the pandemic are video materials and downloadable documents. More than half of the respondents claimed there were no negative features of the VLE. Findings also revealed the most frequently reported negative aspect is poor internet performance. In addition, seven themes related to student learning strategies emerged including: considering the availability of infrastructure, monitoring the class schedule and calendar (or announcements), collaborating with peers, participating in the university’s learning management system, applying notetaking strategies and other specific strategies, searching for additional learning resources, and no specific strategy applied while learning during the pandemic.

Governance Analysis in Driving Smart City Policy in Aceh

This study wants to analyze the implementation of smart city which is a concept of city development based on technology. The smart city concept consists of several aspects including smart governance, smart society, smart living, smart economy, smart environment, and smart branding. Aceh is one of the Indonesian provinces that initiated the smart city concept for the development of each regency/city. The research aims to analyze governance in encouraging smart city policies in Aceh. This research method uses a mixed method approach, which is a combination of quantitative approaches used to see facts that occur based on government system data that has been carried out; and qualitative method in building a narrative on the Aceh governance system based on smart city indicators which is on target or not. The results of this study show that there are several regencies/cities in Aceh that have implemented smart city-based governance. One of which is Banda Aceh City. This study recommends that the Government of Aceh should further socialize smart city-based governance so that the government of each regency/city in Aceh implements smart city governance to actualize a prosperous, harmonious, and simpler bureaucratic society.

The Effect of Obesity, Carbohydrate, and Fat Intake on the Incidence of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at the Age of 30-50 Years in Medan

<div><table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="left"><tbody><tr><td align="left" valign="top"><p><em>Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a disease that is synonymous with elevated blood glucose levels that have an impact on vascular and nervous system disorders. In 2013, the prevalence of DM in Indonesia was 6.8 percent and increased to 8.5 percent in 2018. North Sumatra is in the twelfth position of provinces in Indonesia with a prevalence of 2 percent and Medan is the city with the highest cases with a total of 249.000 cases. In 2022 in Medan, the number of DM cases is known to be 21,515 cases. This study aims to analyze the effect of obesity, carbohydrate, and fat intake on the incidence of type 2 DM at the age of 30</em><em>–</em><em>50 years in Medan. The research method used a case-control unmatching design. The study subjects were aged 30-50 years consisting of 65 DM cases and 65 non-DM as controls. Data analysis was carried out univariate, bivariate, and multivariate with SPSS software using multiple logistic regression tests. The results showed that there was an effect between overweight (p=0.014), carbohydrate intake (p= 0.013), and fat intake (p= 0.032) on the incidence of type 2 DM. Multivariate analysis shows that carbohydrate intake is the most influential variable in the incidence of type 2 DM with an Odds Ratio value of 5.696. It is recommended for the community to carry out a healthy lifestyle by maintaining a diet, and an ideal weight, and exercising regularly. It is hoped that the Posbindu and Prolanis programs can be implemented massively at the community health center.</em></p><p><em> </em></p></td></tr></tbody></table></div><p><strong><em>Keywords: Carbohydrate, Fat, Obesity, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus</em></strong></p>

Analisis pengelompokan jumlah tanaman kehutanan yang diusahakan menurut jenis tanaman di Indonesia

One of the problems of archipelagic countries is the lack of maximum utilization of natural resources which has resulted in some areas being left behind. Indonesia is one of those who experience the impact of the lack of utilization of natural resources in the forestry sector. The non-optimal use of forests for planting forestry plants has made most Indonesians use their land as artificial forests, namely to plant forestry plants. Cluster analysis in this case seeks to classify provinces in Indonesia based on the type of forestry plants cultivated. The method used is hierarchical and non-hierarchical. The hierarchical method uses single linkage and complete linkage methods while the non-hierarchical method uses the K-mean method. By making comparisons between methods, the results obtained are that the single linkage method with 8 clusters is the best method for grouping provinces in Indonesia according to the types of plants cultivated. Of the 34 provinces in Indonesia, cluster 1 consists of 27 provinces, while clusters 2 to 8 each consist of only 1 province.

The dominant factors associated with stunting among two years children in five provinces in Indonesia

Stunting is a significant malnourishment problem in Indonesia. The 2021 Indonesian Nutritional Status Study (SSGI) reported that there are five provinces with a high prevalence of stunting (>30%). Age under two years (old age) is the golden period during which children overgrow, and malnutrition during this period can still be corrected. This study analyzed the dominant factors associated with stunting in two-year-old children from five provinces: Aceh, NTB, NTT, West Sulawesi, and Southeast Sulawesi. This cross-sectional study used secondary data from the SSGI 2021. The subjects were 4,554. Children (0-23 months) under five. The 2021 SSGI study was conducted in 34 provinces and 514 regencies/cities from January to December 2021. Data were collected through interviews using the SSGI 2021 questionnaire and anthropometric measurements. Statistical applications were used for data processing. Data analysis was performed using multiple logistic regression tests with the criteria of p<0,05 and a confidence interval (CI) of 95%. The risk factors associated with stunting in children from the five provinces were underweight (OR=9,367), age 6-11 months (OR=1,386), age 12-23 months (OR=1,386), diagnosis of measles (2,5681 CI), male sex (OR=1,400), family size ≥ 8 people (OR=1,612), poor sanitation (OR=1,273 CI 95% 1,041-1,556), and the father's occupation as a farmer/occupation/fisherman/driver (OR=1,278). In conclusion, being underweight is the dominant factor associated with stunting in toddlers.

Impact of Tobacco Taxation on Rural-Urban Cigarette Consumption in Indonesia

Tobacco taxes in Indonesia have always been increasing over the past period. However, little was known about the impact of increasing tobacco taxes on cigarette consumption in urban and rural communities. Therefore, we examine the impact of implementing tobacco taxation policies in Indonesia on cigarette consumption levels in urban and rural areas. This study uses panel data for the 2007–2022 period from 33 provinces in Indonesia. Data were sourced from the Central Bureau of Statistics of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia and were analyzed using the two-stage least squares (2SLS) model and the propensity score matching (PSM) model. Our finding shows that increased tobacco taxes negatively impact cigarette consumption in urban and rural areas. Even so, the decline in cigarette consumption in urban areas is still much lower than the reduction in rural areas.

Exploration of Culturally Responsive Teaching and Problem-Based Learning in The Diverse Learning of Prospective Science Teachers

Cultural diversity involves the learning process. This study aims to describe how the implementation of CRT and PBL affects teaching patterns and its influence on critical thinking character and awareness of cultural behaviour. The study was conducted in a class of 24 prospective science teachers which come from eight provinces in Indonesia. Course lecturers and the head of the study program also participated. The research data were obtained from observations, questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis used a qualitative approach. The results of this study reveal that CRT is more inclined to how teachers design culture-based learning, how student differences are seen as commonplace, and with in-depth communication can create a sense of care and compassion. Meanwhile, PBL connects communication through a directed and structured group activity. The appropriate collaboration between CRT and PBL can generate critical thinking figure and awareness of the cultured behaviour of prospective science teacher.

APPLICATION OF EDU-AGROTOURISM AND AGROFORESTRY: PATTERNS OF LAND USE ON CONSERVATION IN THE BUFFER AREA

Sustainable development encompasses three fundamental dimensions, including the socio-cultural, economic, and ecological. Agroforestry seeks to achieve multifunctional, efficient, and environmentally sustainable production by replicating forest-like circumstances and employing management strategies that align with the cultural values of local people. The successful execution of this strategy is facilitated by the improvement of soil and microclimate conditions, which positively impact agricultural results. The Lore Lindu National Park (TNLL) is an officially declared national park in the Central Sulawesi province of Indonesia. The location plays a crucial role in conserving Sulawesi Island's rich array of biological diversity. The research findings indicate that the flora variety within the TNLL region encompasses a wide range of botanical species, including diverse trees, resin-producing plants, rattan, orchids, and medicinal plants. The agroforestry patterns seen in the buffer region of the TNLL can be categorized as the agrisilviculture model. This model represents an agroforestry system that integrates plant and agricultural components, specifically non-wood species. The pattern under consideration encompasses several components, including tree plants such as cocoa, durian, cloves, and candlenuts, alongside agricultural components like corn, vegetables, and tubers. The historical trajectory of land utilization commenced with the indigenous communities who exercised stewardship over the vicinity surrounding TNLL, employing their indigenous knowledge and practices as a consequence of their successful adaptation to the prevailing natural circumstances. The utilization of natural resources by indigenous groups within national park regions for their daily necessities is frequently perceived as exerting strain on the protected landscape's ecological integrity and long-term viability.

Analyzing Primary Healthcare Governance in Indonesia: Perspectives of Community Health Workers.

Background Community-integrated health posts (Posyandu) are crucial for extending primary healthcare across diverse geographical and demographic landscapes in Indonesia. Community health workers (CHWs) currently function as the main service delivery actors for Posyandu. However, Posyandu's performance remains below the standards set by the Ministry of Health. This study examines health system determinants that explain the poor performance of Posyandu and, in particular, examines the roles of village and township governance and community health center management in supporting the effectiveness of primary healthcare programs. Methodology We analyzed 638 Posyandus across 13 Indonesian provinces, utilizing data from the 2014 Indonesia Family Life Survey. We evaluated eight health system determinants based on the perceptions of CHWs concerning challenges encountered in Posyandus. These factors were ranked and analyzed to determine the variables that affected Posyandu's poor performance. Both unadjusted and adjusted odds ratios were calculated. Results This study revealed that nearly half of the Posyandus in Indonesia are underperforming, particularly in rural areas. Common challenges include insufficient funds, inadequate equipment, and a lack of permanent buildings. Although only a small percentage mentioned minimal support from village and Puskesmas authorities, the weak governance roles of village heads are reflected in all the concerns mentioned by CHWs. Conclusions The absence of village heads from governance roles has contributed to Posyandu's operational problems as perceived by CHWs. Community health centers (Puskesmas), responsible for providing technical support to Posyandu, should be part of CHW teams and networks. Further discussions are needed to choose a workable governance model to ensure practical, accessible, and sustainable primary healthcare services at the grassroots level.

Contributions of Learning Attitude, Learning Motivation, Learning Strategy, Memory and Metacognitive toward Upper Elementary Schools Students’ Learning Achievements in Banten Province Indonesia

The aim of this research is to find out how learning attitudes, learning motivation, learning strategy, memory and metacognition contribute to upper students’ learning achievement of State Elementary Schools in Banten Province. This research uses a quantitative approach to ex post facto correlation. In this research, questionnaires and documentation were used to collect data. Correlation test using multiple linear regression was used to analyze the data. Based on the results of the research and data analysis that has been carried out, it can be concluded that there is a significant contribution from learning Strategy, memory and metacognition to the learning achievement upper students in elementary schools in Banten Province where the results from the Coefficients table, obtained a significance value of 0.000 t_table of 1.293, so it can be concluded that the Learning Strategy (X3), Memory (X4) and Metacognitive (X5) variables contribute simultaneously to the Learning Achievement variable (Y) while Attitude (X1) and Learning Motivation (X2) do not contribute to Learning Achievement ( Y) . The correlation or relationship value (R) is 0.795. From this output, a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.632 is obtained, which means that the influence of the independent variables Learning Strategy (X3), Memory (X4) and Metacognition (X5) on the dependent variable Learning Achievement (Y) is 63.2 %. Meanwhile, the remaining 36.8% is influenced by other variables not studied.

Analisis Pengaruh Bancassurance dan Tingkat Kecukupan Modal terhadap Profitabilitas Bank Pembangunan Daerah Tahun 2018-2022

This study aims to determine the effect of bancassurance and capital adequacy ratio on the profitability of Regional Development Banks (BPD) which is proxied in the form of ROA and ROE. This research uses secondary data sourced from the annual financial statements of 26 BPD from all provinces in Indonesia during 2018-2022. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling technique. The data analysis method used is canonical correlation analysis using the SPSS 25 application. The results of the study proved that when tested partially, bancassurance had an effect on ROA, but no effect on ROE, and the Capital Adequacy Ratio had an effect on ROA and ROE. When tested simultaneously, Bancassurance and Capital Adequacy Ratio have an effect on ROA and ROE.

Blue Economy dalam Upaya Pengentasan Kemiskinan Masyarakat Pesisir di Indonesia

The potential for utilization of the Indonesian maritime sector is very large, but it has not been utilized optimally. In efforts to develop the maritime sector, Indonesia faces the challenge of improving the economy in the maritime sector, but also has to maintain existing sustainability, which is stated in the blue economy concept. This research aims to determine the effect of the number of fishermen and the number of marine capture fishing vessels on poverty through the volume of capture fisheries production and the value of capture fisheries production in Indonesia. This research examines 34 provinces in Indonesia for the 2021 period using path analysis techniques. The results of the research show that the number of fishermen has a significant influence on the volume of capture fisheries production, the number of fishermen has no significant influence on the value of capture fisheries production, the number of capture fisheries vessels has a significant influence on the volume of capture fisheries production, the number of capture fisheries vessels has no significant influence on the value of capture fisheries production, the volume of capture fisheries production has a significant effect on the production value of capture fisheries, the production value of capture fisheries does not have a significant effect on gross regional domestic product, and the production value of capture fisheries does not have a significant effect on environmental quality in Indonesia.

The Effect of Musyarakah Financing on Economic Development in Indonesia (Case Study on Islamic Commercial Banks for the 2018-2022 Period)

This research is motivated by the inequality of economic development in Indonesia through the achievement of the Human Development Index in each province in Indonesia. Then, Islamic Commercial Banks carry out the technical sharing of the results of the musyarakah financing business with net revenue sharing, so that Islamic Commercial Banks tend not to know the working capital rotated by customers experiencing losses or profits. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of musyarakah financing on economic development. This study uses an empirical juridical approach with quantitative research types and analytical descriptive research methods. The data used is panel data from Islamic Commercial Banks registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) for the 2018-2022 period. The sampling method used in this research is a non-probability sampling technique, while the data processing method is regression analysis using EViews 12. The results of this study indicate that musyarakah financing has an insignificant positive effect on economic development with the Human Development Index as an indicator with a significance level of 0.2113 greater than 0.05. The coefficient of determination with an adjusted R square value of 0.017605 indicates that the influence of musyarakah on economic development is 1.7605%, while the remaining 98.2395% is influenced by other variables outside the study.
