Two non-bird resistant grain sorghums exhibited higher in vitro protein digestibility values than two bird resistant varieties. Extraction of tannins from a bird resistant variety resulted in increased in vitro protein digestibility as compared to the non-extracted grain, whereas the extraction process had little influence on the protein digestibility of a low tannin non-resistant grain sorghum.
