Natural fiber composites (NFC) have a promising field in the field of polymer science as they possess unique features such as low self-weight, high strength and economical. Moreover, these are biodegradable, non-abrasive and renewable. They offer high specific properties compared to traditional composites. Hence in the current work, a comprehensive review is conducted to elucidate the potential of natural fiber composites as next generation composites with the help of works reported on NFC in past two decades. This paper gives a panorama of insights on thermo-mechanical properties, refinements, and processing methods of NFC which aids the young researchers as definitive go to guide on NFC.
