The text presents an approach on the role deviation of nursing professionals in the public service. The objective is to analyze the role deviation of nursing professionals in the public service and its consequences. The text begins with an approach to the notions of administrative law and public administration. The role of nursing in public administration and the possible causes of function deviations of nursing professionals are mentioned, seeking to understand how the Judiciary Power has acted on issues where there is a finding of function deviation. The text ends by showing the consequences for nursing assistants who perform the role of nursing technicians without proper professional recognition and remuneration, which is therefore a reason for these professionals to go to court. The results showed that the nursing professional has, yes, intensified in times of pandemic, but it is necessary that he always fulfill the tasks relevant to their training, avoiding professional wear and disturbances in their quality of life.
