ABSTRACT This study elucidated the effects of biogas technology adoption on income and livelihood in rural areas of Bangladesh using Propensity Score Matching (PSM) techniques and the Logit Regression Model respectively. A total of 80 biogas adopters and non-adopters were selected from Bangladesh using Simple Random Sampling technique. The results exposed that the income of biogas adopters is noticeably higher than that of biogas non-adopters. The availability of customers and time saving for other activities exerted positively significant influences on the biogas adopters’ livelihood. The rise in number of cattle and fuel costs are positively related to biogas plant adoption.
