ANALISIS KELAYAKAN PEMBERIAN KREDIT UNTUK PROYEK PEMBANGUNAN FIBER OPTIK SEPANJANG REL KERETA API DI PULAU JAWA MILIK PT INTEGRASI JARINGAN EKOSISTEM

This study aims to analyze the financing feasibility of the fiber optic cable network development project that will be carried out by PT Integrasi Jaringan Ekosistem which will be financed by the Bank. Therefore this study is for academic purposes so that the assumptions used are the assumptions of the lending bank in accordance with the provisions that apply to the bank. The analysis used in granting credit includes management analysis, industry analysis, risk analysis and project feasibility analysis. The financial aspect is based on the calculation of NPV, IRR, PI and PP. From the calculation results and several assumptions, it is concluded that this project is feasible to run and obtain financing from the Bank. In addition, a sensitivity analysis is carried out to find out how far the investment can remain feasible if there are several changes in conditions or variables. The implication of this research, it is hoped that the Bank as a financier will get an idea of the feasibility of the project and the benefits that can be obtained, and for PT Integrasi Jaringan Ekosistem can facilitate the planning, execution of work, monitoring, and also project control.

Numerical Analysis of the Overtopping Failure of the Tailings Dam Model Based on Inception Similarity Optimization

The analysis of overtopping dam break caused by extreme rainstorms and other special circumstances is very important in the feasibility analysis of new construction or expansion projects of tailings reservoirs. Reduced-scale physical model tests can directly reflect the topography and dam-break influence range, but the reasonable selection of model dam material is the key to ensure the model’s similarity. Based on the similarity optimization of the limit state of scour inception of sediment particles, a new method for the model material of tailings dams can be proposed, but it needs to be verified by a similar overtopping model test. In this paper, the modeling and numerical calculation analysis of a prototype tailings dam and a similar reduced-scale model are carried out by using FLOW-3D v11.2 numerical software. The calculation results show that the model test scheme optimized by inception similarity can well reproduce the overtopping failure process of the prototype dam.

Administrative Burden in the Semarang City One-Stop Integrated Service Unit

This research aims to analyze the administrative burden faced by the Integrated Investment and One-Stop Service Agency in Semarang City in handling the investment process. Through a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews with staff, document analysis, and direct observation of the administrative processes. The results indicate that UPTSP in Semarang City faces various challenges in managing the administration of investment. The administrative burden involves aspects such as the completeness of application documents, coordination with relevant agencies, project feasibility analysis, and decision-making. Although UPTSP has implemented the One-Stop Service system to enhance efficiency, there are still obstacles related to data integration between agencies and the expansion of integrated services. This research provides an in-depth understanding of the administrative burden faced by UPTSP in Semarang City, providing a foundation for the development of more effective strategies to improve performance and services for business actors. The implications of these findings can serve as a reference for stakeholders, the city government, and UPTSP itself in designing policies that support increased efficiency and effectiveness in managing investments in Semarang City.

Assessment Models for Feasibility Study of Extra Electricity Facilities Investment Projects

Numerous recent researches have revisited the issue of the potential conflicting feasibility method of competing investment projects. This paper provides an example of an assessment models can be built and used for feasibility analysis of electricity investment projects. An overview of feasibility assessment methods is presented, consist of general assessment model, risk analysis methods, and a new optimization method used to estimate strategic and financing requirements of electricity investment projects. This research also examines a new method to predict the optimal year to sell the investment. A case study is used to illustrate the use of a model to assess the feasibility assessment of a extra facilities in electricty project. The conclusion found that Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return, Modified Internal Rate of Return and Payback Period combining with sensitivity analysis, scenario anaysis and simulation to analye the project risk should be used to assess feasibility model study of extra electricity facilities investment projects.

Evaluating the Connectivity and Imbalance Contribution of New Sections towards Highway Network: A Complex Network Perspective

The evaluation of the impacts of new sections on the highway network is an essential aspect of the feasibility study. Existing studies predominantly concentrated on engineering-oriented feasibility assessments, often overlooking their potential effects on parallel sections and the overall network. In this research, we present an evaluation model for new sections based on complex networks, focusing on the connectivity and imbalance of transportation networks. This model serves as a supplementary approach for enhancing the feasibility analysis of new highway projects. The model comprises three distinct modules, namely, complex network, eigenvalue, and evaluation. Therein, the complex network provides diverse attributes for sections with the dynamic edge weights. Moreover, probability betweenness centrality and volume betweenness centrality have been presented as an eigenvalue of sections based on the multilayer complex network. Furthermore, the connectivity evaluation based on the eigenvalue and the imbalance evaluation based on the entropy and Gini coefficient are conducted. Through the case study, the results of the model demonstrate the connectivity and imbalance contribution of new sections and provide a novel perspective for the feasibility study.

Urban, Environmental and Habitability Parameters for Social Housing

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to propose a set of parameters for urban, environmental, and habitability impacts for the feasibility analysis of social housing projects. Theoretical framework: Given the historical housing deficit, the large scale of social housing segment has been challenging managers in terms of environmental (volume of inputs, energy, waste), economic (high investment), and social (urban relations) impacts. Thus, efficiency in the performance of Social Housing Projects is a relevant aspect, regarding the importance that housing represents in users’ lives. Method/design/approach: The research strategy used was case studies, using 12 social housing projects built in Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre. The parameters analyzed refer to urban, environmental and habitability impact, based on data collected in loco, seeking to identify the main variables that influence each one, categorized as greater, medium or smaller influence. Results and conclusion: The variables with the most significant impact were: (i) mobility, access to opportunities, degree of localism, and social networks (urban parameters); (ii) index of compactness of the buildings and place of manufacture of the materials (environmental parameters); (iii) bioclimatic zone, facade color, window size, architectural type, and (iv) construction system (living parameters). Research implications: The proposed parameters may be helpful to public authorities (funders/inspectors), designers/builders (executors), and academics (theoretical/technical support) as a guide to more efficient social housing solutions involving the construction of programs, guidelines for public notices, parameters assessment, among others. Originality/value: The study contributes to the existing literature by encompassing a systemic approach to EHIS, being propositional through parameters that integrate issues related to construction and urban performance.

EFFECTS OF TRANSPARENCY-FOCUSED SOCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY ACTIONS ON PUBLIC SERVICE DELIVERY IN KAKAMEGA COUNTY GOVERNMENT MINISTRIES, KENYA

The provision of public services in the Republic of Kenya has encountered difficulties over the years. The implementation of many policies, such as performance contracts and measurement and evaluation, has not produced the desired outcomes. Therefore, it was necessary to concentrate on alternative approaches to enhance public service delivery, such as the implementation of social accountability measures. By encouraging openness through social accountability initiatives, corruption and bureaucratic inefficiencies are reduced, which enhances the delivery of services. Few studies have examined the link between the acts of social of accountability and delivery of services in Kenya, despite the fact that they are, thought to increase service delivery in the public sector. This study therefore sought to interrogate the effect of transparency-focused social accountability actions on public service delivery in Kakamega County Government Ministries, Kenya. The study was centered on Vance, Lowry, and Eggett's Accountability theory (2015). The research used a descriptive survey research approach. The employees from different ministries, county assembly members, as well as chief officers, who take part in public decision-making processes, made up the target population. A population of 1,904 persons was targeted. Accordingly, using Krejcie and Morgan (1970) table, a sample size of 322 was obtained. To analyse the quantitative data, the researcher employed the Statistical Package for Social Sciences. Content analysis was, used to look at qualitative data. The research instruments’ validity was certified by the experts in the area of study, while reliability of the research instruments was determined by use of Cronbach's alpha coefficient. This was meant to check on the internal consistency of the research instruments. A standardized questionnaire and interviews was used to collect the data, which was then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics and presented using tables. For this investigation, a multivariate regression analysis was, used. The findings revealed that transparency focused (β=.652, p<.05) had a positive significant effect on service delivery and accounted for 41.7%. The employees of Kakamega County may gain from this research because it will allow them to engage in more discussions with the county by engaging in advisory boards, project implementation, and project feasibility analysis, all of which can enhance the county's provision of public services.

Cost management of power grid transmission and substation project based on BIM technology

Abstract With the rapid development of China’s electric power industry, the cost management of electric power projects, which is closely related to the power grid transmission and substation projects, has become more and more important. Do a good investment feasibility analysis of power projects. Optimize power engineering design. Reasonable determination of power project cost and effective control of power project cost are the main problems to be solved by the project cost management of power grid transmission and transformation projects. In this paper, DCN-BIM model is established based on DCN algorithm as the theory. A detailed calculation and analysis of the influencing factors and stage share of the cost management of power grid transmission and substation projects is carried out. Through calculation, it can be seen that the share of power products in the project cost is about 15.43% due to their special characteristics. The lowest cost share in the project cost is the project tender. Its share is only 10.03%. The highest cost share is for equipment materials. Its cost share is as high as 51.34%. The design phase accounted for 23% of the cost. The lowest cost share in the bidding phase was only 21%.

Logistic cost analysis for 3D printing construction projects using a multi-stage network-based approach

Construction 3D printing (3DP) could make supply chains more cost-effective, shorter, and less wasteful; however, many questions are raised regarding equipment and material supply. This paper develops a construction 3DP multi-stage network-based logistics cost assessment model for materials, equipment and waste flows of low-story building construction that supports: (1) a 3DP project logistics network evaluation; (2) a 3DP project feasibility analysis by comparing various 3DP logistic scenarios with traditional construction; and (3) determination of suitable logistics strategies for a 3DP project. A node approach for the logistics systems analysis and a two-type costing approach are employed for model development, the feasibility and practicality of which are demonstrated through case studies. Results show that the dominant logistics cost category for 3DP is transportation, the attentive consideration of which allows the feasibility of a construction 3DP project. As a further step, a 3DP capability map should be developed for 3DP market expansion and transportation reduction.

To conduct a critical examination of financial risk management in the field of merger and acquisition, which contains assets calculation, financial analysis, market analysis, and project profitability, as well as the connections between these aspects towards the succession of undergoing a merger and acquisition process. 2.) Review the outcomes of the data analysis in order to reach conclusions and suggestions in the context of successability of mergers and acquisitions. The research strategy that is included in this paper are quantitative research and case study. One of the research strategy is by using a method by David S. Clifton & David E Fyfe from “Project Feasibility Analysis” . Another research strategy that will be used in this paper is the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis. The data collected by the researcher will mainly be coming from PT Indo Kaya Energi in a form of archival method, other than that, some secondary sources from articles and journals on the internet will be used in this research. The study demonstrates that the process of merger and acquisitions needs to be carefully examined, the reason behind this is because the researcher needed to analyze not only the financial statement from the company, but also analyze the market, assets and future project forecast cashflow as stated in “Project Feasibility Analysis”

Analysis on Feasibility and Technology Transfer in Civil Construction

Technological changes brought a need to review the architecture of operational activities, and it was up to ergonomics to turn to what would be called “external variables”, technological variables and sociological variables. The objective of this research is to build and test a tool that can guide the strategic actions of Ergonomics as to evaluating the feasibility of projects, in the operational phase, as well as in the technology transfer that these projects may present. For this work, the Methodology used was divided into two parts: building of the research portfolio and building details as to the Project Feasibility Analysis model. Based on the results found through the development of a tool to guide Ergonomics, by means of the operational feasibility of the project, in combination with technology transfer, a tool called Capability Matrix was built, which proved to be flexible and efficient, having a greater potential compared to that of its initial design. This investigation leaves as a perspective for future works the application of the matrix to other civil construction activities, in addition to enabling technology transfer to other activities belonging to civil construction and the industry in general.

Green finance and the economic feasibility of hydrogen projects

This paper studies the economic and financial feasibility analysis of hydrogen energy projects in China to identify appropriate green financing solutions for them. Cost-benefit and sensitivity analysis approaches were carried out for the three hydrogen projects in Guangdong province (two cases) and Jiang Xi province (one case). The hydrogen projects are more sensitive to borrowing interest rates and income tax rates, amongst other financing costs. The main reasons are the capital-intensive nature of green energy projects and the role of tax in the rate of return of green projects in the long term. The optimal weight of bank loans for the studied hydrogen projects in China was calculated at nearly 56%, meaning the weight of green bonds is approximately 44%. In other words, diversifying financing channels instead of just relying on bank loans is recommended to reduce the financing risk and capital cost. As a major policy implication, we recommended various de-risking tools, such as the green credit guarantee corporation, to attract private investments in hydrogen projects.

Análise de viabilidade para implantação de cura com CO2 em uma indústria de blocos de concreto na região de São Paulo

abstract: The project feasibility analysis determines whether the project should be carried out from different spheres: strategic, technical, operational, legal, economic-financial, environmental, marketing, political, fiscal, location, among others. These are not excluding analyzes, all aspects must be assessed before implementing a new project or new process. This work will focus on the analysis of the technical feasibility of the innovative project to implement carbonation curing in a concrete block factory in the region of São Paulo. An overview of the CO2 curing process and changing needs is presented, including identifying local CO2 sources and delivering cost, gas consumption for chamber saturation, estimation of CO2 uptake by masonry units during curing, estimation of consumption and monthly cost of CO2, curing chamber changes needs, new equipment acquisition, estimation of cost for retrofit and new installations, potential best definitions on optimal temperature, humidity, and CO2 concentration. International succeeded cases are presented. The study concludes that the technology can be easily implemented in the region, with few changes on a plant production process and on the curing chamber. There would be an increase of 4% to 14% on the block cost depending on the distance to the CO2 supplier. Considering the Brazilian production of concrete blocks, up to 168,780 tons of CO2 per year can be sequestered, this value is equivalent to the CO2 sequestered by 21,100 trees.

A Comparative Analysis of Artificial Neural Networks for Photovoltaic Power Forecast Using Remotes and Local Measurements

Abstract The inclusion of photovoltaic systems in distribution networks has raised the importance of the prediction of photovoltaic power for safe planning and operation. Artificial neural networks (ANNs) have been used in this task due to its capacity of representing nonlinearities. However, the profile of the data used may affect the forecast accuracy. This manuscript reports on a comparative analysis of the performance of four neural network models for photovoltaic power forecast regarding their input dataset. Four sets composed of photovoltaic power data (local measurements) and external weather data (remote measurements) were used, and the networks were validated through actual measurements from a photovoltaic micro plant. The ANN that dealt with only weather data showed a good level of accuracy, being a useful tool for the feasibility analysis of new photovoltaic projects. In addition, the approach that used only photovoltaic power data has excelled and can be used in electric sector companies.

The challenge of implementing public-private partnerships: a transaction costs perspective on waste to energy projects in Indonesia

PurposeThis study aims to explore the reasons behind the lengthy delays in completing a single public-private partnership (PPP) project in Indonesia and investigates how the transaction costs play a significant role in hindering the project’s success.Design/methodology/approachTo broaden insight into the transaction cost theory, the authors used a single case study approach to provide a more in-depth analysis of a context whose complexity can be fully explored. As the primary data sources, 16 face-to-face semi-structured interviews were conducted with the stakeholders directly involved in the project’s initiation, design and execution.FindingsThis case study demonstrates that transaction cost issues, both political and economic, play a significant role. This study has identified four main problems associated with transaction costs hindering project success, namely, executing agencies’ lack of knowledge and experience, lack of coordination for such a complex governance structure that links too many stakeholders and the financial and political risk that increase the uncertainty and public distrust.Research limitations/implicationsThis study contributes mainly to the PPP and transaction costs economics literature, providing empirical evidence on why major PPP projects may fail to be procured. The Greater Bandung waste to energy (WTE) Project case demonstrates that transaction costs, both political and economic, have played a significant role in the lengthy delay of the PPP project.Practical implicationsAs the project involves many transaction cost issues, mapping the failure factors at the project sites can significantly contribute to the practitioners/stakeholders involved in the PPP WTE projects. Therefore, this study provides a lesson to the policymakers at all levels interested in PPPs to consider the issues of transaction costs related to the PPP projects. It can be used as guidance as well as a reference for future PPP WTE projects in Indonesia.Social implicationsMapping the failure factors also signifying the response of the public in the PPP WTE projects undertaken. As the citizens become more rule-conscious and rights-conscious, they demand the opportunity to participate in creating rules and project plans. If the project failed to consult with affected communities and undermined democratic accountability, the angry citizens will confront the government to cancel the project. Therefore, political and economic influences for public attitude play significant roles in making the PPP WTE projects successful.Originality/valueThis study provides insight into the transaction cost issues that have hindered the completion of Indonesia’s PPP WTE project over the past 15 years. Additionally, the project feasibility analysis should include an understanding of transaction costs for partnering in PPP.

Planned Unit Development (PUD) in Urban Design Project

Since 1960s Bangkok has been under the practices of post-war urban planning, in addition to a series of initial development of comprehensive plans, through four versions of adopted comprehensive plans which were used as urban development controlling tool, while lacking regulations for urban guidance. Planned Unit Development (PUD) is a regulation allowing comprehensive planning and design on a specific large urban area with flexibility for greater livability. This research aims to explore the applicability of PUD in the urban development process of Bangkok. Two conceptual design scenarios for applying PUD were generated providing project feasibility analysis and PUD design guidelines. The research is conducted as an experimental study focusing on the tasks of three variables: scenario generation, feasibility analysis, and urban design and development. The design experimentation result has been stated that it potentially applies PUD on the study site (Pahonyothin 19/1, Bangkok). However, it will require great financial aid and a period of time. With PUD, Bangkok urbanization can reach the stage of urban design that contributes variable benefits such as site planning and design, density modification, providing infrastructures, and circulation improvement. In addition, PUD provides greater ranges of benefits such as carbon reduction, urban heat island mitigation, promoting Transit Oriented Development (TOD), and positioning on SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. The research output is providing guidelines towards a sustainable 21st century city for Bangkok.

Economic feasibility analysis of small hydro power projects

The clean development mechanism (CDM) was created with two main goals: help developed countries achieve the greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets set out in the Kyoto Protocol and provide sustainable development to developing countries who host the projects. Sustainable project management shares the same goals as the CDM project, which could be a valuable asset in the development of new projects. Much has been discussed about the effectiveness of the program in achieving those goals and even more in the post-2012 period when the CDM has experienced fewer new projects and lower certified emissions reduction (CER) prices compared to previous years. Based on Brazilian CDM project data, this works aims to analyze the economic aspect of sustainable management by observing the influence of the obtained CERs on the internal rates of return (IRRs) of a small hydro plant (SHP) according to the current CDM scenario, marked by CER prices reaching their lowest historical values. For this study, a spreadsheet was developed to simulate a project’s cash flows and thus determine its IRRs. The results show that using the current CER prices, carbon credits do not significantly affect SHP projects’ IRRs, with increases of less than 0.2% compared to a scenario with no credits. CDM projects may benefit more from optimizing the investment costs or increasing energy production. These results highlight a need to emphasize the sustainable benefits of the CDM program rather than only focusing on the economic return perspective.

Barriers to Success of Project Management

As the business environment is rapidly changing with globalization and complexity of information flows, the uncertainty is also very increased for project environment. Although many studies have been conducted to find out the critical factors for project success, there still exist different views to define project success. Furthermore, implementing success formula for one project does not necessarily guarantee a success for another project since there are other elements that impede the success of project. In this regards, it is imperative to examine what are the barriers to project success. This study aims to examine the barriers that impede the success of project. Past literature was thoroughly reviewed to collect and develop a preliminary list of elements that affected project performance negatively. Experts were interviewed to refine the list and the final list of the measurement items were developed. A survey questionnaire was developed with the final list of measurement items, and a survey was conducted on the practitioners with project experience. After the survey, an exploratory factor analysis was conducted on the final list to extract the component dimensions which in turn formed the group of project barriers. The exploratory factor analysis provided ten factors, which are difficulty of process management, failure of project feasibility analysis, cost overruns and lack of cost benefits, unclarity project plan, strategic consistency error, stakeholder conflict, inaccuracy of requirement definition, disturbance of communication, technical environment change, negative attitude of top management.

Feasibility analysis of entrepreneurship from the perspective of financial management: a study on Chinese university students

The theory and practice of feasibility study of industrial projects originates from the development of the Tennessee River basin in the USA in the 1930s. It is a scientific analysis method that conducts investigation and study of new industrial project’s technology advantage, economical rational as well as the implementation feasibility in order to achieve maximum returns of the investment. The traditional Chinese medicine project has the characteristics of large investment, long cycle and high cost of capital. Due to the irreversibility of construction investment, once the project is implemented, most investments will become sunk cost. This paper takes the project “eaves outside bamboo and Chinese medicine in garden” as an example, focusing on the feasibility analysis of entrepreneurship projects in the business plan from the perspective of financial management. The project is a 5-year traditional Chinese medicine electronic commerce project, focusing on providing healthcare services and disseminating Chinese medical culture. The economic evaluation of investment projects is mainly based on dynamic indexes, while static indexes only play a supporting role. The net present value indexes coincide with the goal of pursuit maximizing enterprise value. The internal rate of return is the rate of return that an investment is expected to achieve. Investors are more willing to adopt the net present value as the evaluation index of decision making. Study found feasibility analysis can improve the scientific and democratic decision making of investment projects on the one hand, and reduce the waste and loss caused by decision-making errors on the other hand. For independent project, the final conclusions were consistent through NPV, IRR, payback period and the investment effect coefficient.
