The main motivational and value attitudes of pediatricians in choosing a vocation

Introduction. Determining the trajectory of a future career and understanding one’s occupational mission imposes responsibility on the life in the individual and society as a whole. Among many vocations, one of the most difficult, not only in terms of maste­ring, the need for constant updating of special knowledge, but also because of many moral and ethical aspects, is the occupation of a doctor. The purpose of the work is to identify the leading factors of motivation for professional self-determination of pediatricians. Materials and methods. One hundred six pediatricians practicing in Moscow, graduated from 35 medical universities of the country took part in the work. An online questionnaire was used for sociological analysis. The respondents were selected using the “snowball” method. Results. Leading factors encouraging the choice of pediatrics as a an vocation were found to be the interest of the person himself in the profession (67%) and the opportunity to help people (19.8%). This indicates the psychological motives of a person in choosing a profession to dominate over social motives. The prestige of the profession and the influence of parents are not considered the main motives for choosing (4.7% and 2.8%, respectively). Most of the pediatricians surveyed (63.2%) are completely satisfied with their chosen profession, which indicates a conscious decision at the time of admission and a desire to develop further within the chosen vocation. Due to their own choice, 95.3% of respondents plan to work in pediatrics in the future. 64.2% of respondents see the main benefit for other people and society in improving children’s health. Conclusion. The dominant motives of professional self-determination of pediatricians, determining the choice of a future specialty, are personal conscious goal-setting in choosing a medical vocation and the opportunity to help children. Working as a pediatrician guarantees a high degree of satisfaction from the chosen path and daily activities.

The article examines the process of formation of students’ professional self-determination. Choosing a profession is one of the most difficult choices in life. The authors emphasize the importance of the assistance of adults, in particular teachers, in the formation of professional self-determination of young people. A study conducted at the Lyubertsy Technical School named after Yu.A.Gagarin, Lyubertsy with students of the technical school, shows that the successful formation of professional self-determination is a result of purposeful psychological and pedagogical interaction between the teacher and students. An example of such interaction is extracurricular activities in an educational institution of secondary professional education.

MODELLING OF SOCIO-PSYCHOLOGICAL ADAPTATION OF AN INDIVIDUAL TO DIGITAL RISKS IN EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL SELF-DETERMINATION

Automated semantic analysis and topic modelling methods were first applied to a large corpus of public online communities and discussions to analyse strategies for responding to digital risks in modern society. A large array of public data on profiles of the social network “Vkontakte” and their subscriptions to online communities was used to train a predictive model of individual adaptation to risks in the field of education and professional self-determination. Based on the results of thematic modelling, three topics of subscriptions to online communities were identified as signs of psychological adaptation: preparation for exams, self-development and “popular” psychology, education and science. The developed version of the predictive model of psychological adaptation showed high accuracy and the importance of such factors as age, gender and place of residence for individual adaptation to digital risks in the field of education and professional self-determination.

PSYCHOLOGICAL FEATURES OF LIFE SCENARIOS OF REPRESENTATIVES OF VARIOUS PROFESSIONS

The article is devoted to studying the peculiarities of life scenarios of representatives of various professions. The article analyses the scenario theory explaining the process of choosing a profession and professional behaviour of a person. The author points out that a well- chosen life path determines a person’s social value. The theoretical aspects of the concept of “life scenario” are considered in the article from the perspective of transactional analysis. The author associates this concept with other similar psychological categories in various studies. To prove the hypothesis about the existence of connection between life scenario features and professional self-determination, the author invited representatives of two professions to participate in the empirical study: real estate agents and IT technicians. The author selected appropriate diagnostic tools. The empirical study of the life scenarios of representatives of two professions confirmed the hypothesis put forward by the author. The formed life scenario in childhood receives its further development and influences the professional life path of the individual.

THE MODEL OF ENTREPRENEURIAL SELF-DETERMINATION (BASED ON NARRATIVE INTERVIEW)

Questions of professional self-determination are increasingly concerning the younger generation. Choosing entrepreneurial activities and running one’s own business are gaining popularity among young people. In this regard, there is a need for a more detailed study of entrepreneurial self-determination (hereinafter - ESD). To identify possible socio-psychological factors of ESD, an exploratory study was conducted using the narrative interview method followed by qualitative analysis. 29 respondents aged 18 to 40 who have or had their own business participated in the study. The author developed a model of ESD including 9 stages: observation, premature identity crisis, first trial, start crisis, project start, leap of faith crisis, scaling, plateau crisis, and stability. It was concluded that the entrepreneurial path has a spiral nature. Groups of socio-psychological factors of ESD that encourage and hinder entrepreneurial activity were identified.

Формирование готовности воспитанников к овладению воинскими профессиями в образовательной среде кадетского корпуса

<p>The article considers the problem of choosing a future profession in the context of psychological readiness for various types of activities, including military service. The authors discuss various theoretical approaches to readiness, emphasize the importance of developing readiness for military service as a key aspect of the social system. The empirical study was conducted at Cadet School No. 1784 named after Army General V.A. Matrosov. 46 students took part in the study. The comparison group consisted of students of the educational school (49 people). The following methods were used: Herzberg motivational structure test, diagnostics of interactive orientation of personality (N.P. Fetiskin), questionnaire "Military-professional motivation" (B.V. Ovchinnikov, A.F. Borovikov). The following results were obtained: awareness and motivational attention to the choice of a future profession among cadets and students of a comprehensive school are practically the same. There is a connection between the indicator "military-professional motivation" and the motivational structure and interactive orientation of cadets; The following connections were identified: with the attitude towards management, with cooperation in the team, with the motive of achieving personal success, with the content of the activity. Conclusion: since there are connections between military-professional motivation and the motivational structure and interactive orientation of cadets, it is necessary to carry out complex influences aimed at developing readiness to choose a military-professional career for students studying in the cadet corps. <strong><em>Key words</em></strong>: professional self-determination, readiness to master military professions, classification of readiness for military service, formation of readiness to choose a military profession.</p>

Career guidance for high school students: social design resources

The article discusses various approaches to the definition of career guidance work, the generalization of which allows it to be defined as a system of preparing students for a free and independent choice of profession. It is noted that the result of the lack of targeted and systematic career guidance work with students is the admission to universities of students with low motivation to study in the chosen field of study. As the leading task of career guidance work, it is determined to conduct psychological, pedagogical, informational, practical and activity support for students in the formation of their own position in professional self-determination. Such work will be able to increase the effectiveness of professional self-determination, make it more adequate to the characteristics of the individual, with the use of resources both in class and extracurricular activities. The use of information and communication technologies in the study of academic disciplines, students can receive information about various types of professional activities, social, economic and psychological components of professions. During extracurricular time, career guidance of students can be carried out in the course of social and cultural activities, which allows students to be included in cognitive, performing, creative, and communicative activities. The technology of social design, which is understood as the result of creative socially significant activity to overcome social problems, has special opportunities in the professional orientation of students. The use of this technology makes it possible to create conditions for students to independently comprehend their future, the manifestation of social activity and a subjective life position. As part of the study, a regional competition of social advertising «We are in the world» was developed and implemented, the purpose of which was to attract the attention of students to the actual social problems of society. The competition was attended by students of grades 8–11 of secondary schools of the city, region, and the Republic of Bashkortostan.

Professional self-determination in the conditions of studying for a master's degree

Introduction. The article is devoted to one of the most urgent problems of modern education – the professional self-determination of undergraduates in the process of university education. The article provides a historical and pedagogical analysis of the state and development of the problem of professional self-determination in Russia from the 20s of the last century to the present. In the context of the formation of a new system of higher pedagogical education in Russia, the authors attempt to consider the professional self-determination of future masters as the need for their effective professional training. Materials and Methods. As research methods, the method of analysis and systematization of psychological and pedagogical theoretical and experimental and scientific and methodological studies of domestic scientists on the problem of professional development of a future specialist in the conditions of modern domestic higher education system was used. When describing the specifics of the professional training of undergraduates, the emphasis is placed on the use of methods of systematization and generalization of psychological and pedagogical research and regulatory documents. Results. Considering the professional self-determination of future specialists as the need for their professional training, based on the analysis of philosophical and psychological and pedagogical research, the authors clarified and specified the key categories of research: "self-determination", "professional self-determination", "readiness for self-determination". The article reveals the features of modern learning youth at different levels of professional self-determination. The types of self-determination (professional, social, personal, family, life, religious, etc.) are identified. Such important aspects of vocational training as: changes in the content of vocational training of a university student, the influence of socio-cultural factors on the professional training of future specialists, the formation of competencies and competence, the psychological component of vocational training in the educational environment of the university are revealed. Discussion and Conclusions. The problem of professional self-determination of undergraduates at the present stage of development of society and the creation of a new system of Russian pedagogical education in the context of globalization and digitalization is significantly updated and requires the search for new forms and methods of professional training of specialists.

Organizing activities of student associations in higher education institutions of Russia and China

Introduction. Student associations of higher education institutions contribute to successful socialization and early professionalization. The relevance of the study lies in the fact that designing educational and upbringing programs for future bachelors and masters of social work at the university, great importance is to be attached to professionally focused student associations. The study aims to develop and test the authors' practice-oriented methodology for training future specialists in social work in the context of student associations of higher education institutions using the example of Russia and China. Materials and methods. To determine the readiness of students for professional activities in the context of student associations, the authors conducted a survey based on the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education Kostroma State University; it lasted from September to December 2023 and involved 1-4 year students (100 people) specializing in social work. Research methods and techniques were: content analysis of documents, frequency analysis, observation, survey, questionnaires and experience generalization. Results. The authors’ methodology for organizing student associations activities was developed; psychological and pedagogical conditions necessary for the training of future bachelors of social work were experimentally tested and clarified. The authors conducted a comparative analysis of how student associations activities in universities in Russia and China are organized. The abovementioned authors' methodology helps students form meanings and values: professional experience (23.25%); communication with friends (19.77%); social support and assistance to people in difficult life situations (15.11%); participation and organization of work forms related to professional activity (12.79%); obtaining new knowledge (9.30%), emotions (4.65%); teamwork (6.98%); visiting professionally focused institutions (3.49%). Conclusion. The ‘Social Work’ educational program includes practices of the following student associations: Abilympics, PROVICH, Studaktiv, Student Scientific Community in the Social Work Training Program ‘#SR’, and Chinese Student Association of Kostroma State University. Organizing activities of student associations is held in accordance with the following pedagogical conditions: assistance of the head of the student association in searching for variability in professional self-determination; psychological and pedagogical conditions; organizational and pedagogical conditions (external): internal environment of student association’s activities (pedagogical potential: managerial, educational, existential); the level of comfort students enjoy when working in the student association program; external environment of the student association (social partners, employers, social protection institutions, etc.); as well as internal psychological and pedagogical conditions (subjective conditions that contribute to the formation of personal psychological mechanisms of professional development).

Роль родителей в профессиональном самоопределении детей

The article analyzes the role of parents in children’s professional self-determination. The authors conducted a sociological survey among graduates of pedagogical, medical, and technical universities in Yaroslavl. The results showed that key factors in professional self-identification are family values and a reference person, rather than the opinions of friends or advertising in the media. Children from families with a service-oriented mission (e.g., teachers, military personnel, firefighters, police officers, healthcare workers) typically follow their parents’ life path. The majority of students surveyed acknowledged that their parents’ opinion plays an important role in their choice of future education and profession. However, only a small number of parents preferred to stay out of the way when it comes to choosing their children's educational and professional path. The study revealed that the professional goals of most children from doctor’s families coincided with those of their parents. On the other hand, students who entered university under parental coercion were found to have lower academic performance. These students are more likely to suffer from stress, apathy and alcohol dependence compared to those who independently and consciously chose their place of study. Students who, thanks to their parents’ support, actively developed through after-school activities (for example, dance or sports), quickly identified their strengths and weaknesses, and consciously chose their university and future profession. The author notes that medical education is an elite and inherited profession, as many students in medical universities have family members related to medicine. Obviously, in the context of social change, it's difficult to find a stable, well-respected, well-paying job that allows for social connections.

Формирование профессионального самоопределения будущих специалистов гостиничного сервиса средствами личностно-ориентированных технологий

The purpose of this investigation was to confirm the need of student professional self-determination formation and development as a pedagogical task while training of hotel service specialists. The relevance of this research is determined by the generalized interpretation of the term ‘hotel service specialist’. The list of opportunities for professional realization for graduates, actually, is not limited by the place of work as well as by the activity type. Proper assessment and timely diagnosis of aptitude for a particular specialization can contribute to effective self-determination of students, motivate them to successful academic achievements, and stimulate professional development. Methodology and methods. The methodology of the study consists on the basis of the general theory of education and upbringing, the theory of the unity of personality and activity, the foundations of a personality-oriented educational process. The research methods determine the analysis of psychological, pedagogical and methodological literature on the research topic, questionnaires, psychological and pedagogical testing, statistical data. The result of this research was the justification of the pedagogical task as a formation the professional self-determination of students — future hotel service specialists throughout their studies at the university. Theoretical and practical significance. The theoretical significance of the research lies in the construction, substantiation and approbation of the hotel professions matrix. The practical significance is determined by the proposed forms and methods of the educational process organization for the purpose of the professional self-determination formation by means of personality-oriented technologies. Conclusions. In order to maintain students’ interest in professional realization, it is necessary to diagnose their abilities for professional activity within the industry. The effectiveness of the professional self-determination formation will be higher if personality-oriented components are included in the content of scientific and methodological content.

Профессиональное самоопределение в контексте непрерывного образования

<p><em>The article is devoted to the problem of professional self-determination of schoolchildren in the field of pedagogical activity. It is shown that this self-determination occurs in the process of lifelong education, which at each age stage creates conditions for the development of professional orientation of schoolchildren. The stage of pre-professional (pre-university) pedagogical education includes preschool childhood, takes place at school, ends with the choice of a profession, its main task is to develop interest in the teaching profession, identify and form pedagogical abilities. The stage of professional education helps the student to accept the requirements of the profession. The stages of mentoring and postgraduate education allow the teacher to find deeper meanings in the field of professional activity. The positive role of creating pedagogical classes at school is noted in order to provide students with more directed psychological preparation for choosing a teaching profession and more meaningful admission to a pedagogical university. Some proposals have been formulated for a program that ensures the educational process in teaching classes.</em></p>

Trajectories of a doctor's professional development: a narrative interview. Part 1

BACKGROUND: Medical education is one of the most prestigious and in demand at the present stage, which, first of all, is reflected in the high competition rates for admission to a medical university. At the same time, the digital development of the Institute of Medicine determines the increasing academic load and the need to expand the range of disciplines studied at a medical university. AIM: To study of the trajectories of professional development of a young doctor in the Russian healthcare system in modern conditions. METHODS: The study of the trajectories of professional development of young doctors was carried out by the method of narrative interview (n=52) in September–December 2022 on the basis of the Institute of Social Sciences of Sechenov University. The study involved young internists (n=11), pediatricians (n=11), obstetricians and gynecologists (n=10), dentists (n=10), surgeons (n=10). RESULTS: The analysis of the array of narratives allowed us to identify three key semantic and semantic data blocks (including seven subgroups), which served as the empirical basis of the standard narrative plot: the pre-university stage ["playing the profession" (3–7 years), "premonition" of professional choice (8–11 years), professional self-determination or the formation of professional intentions (12–17 years)]; university stage [obtaining medical education as the "foundation" of professional socialization (1–2 years), determining the desired trajectory of the professional path (3–6 years)]; postgraduate stage [debut of professional activity (residency), "challenges of professional autonomy"]. CONCLUSION: The analysis of the corpus of narratives of young doctors made it possible to identify the key temporal points of the trajectory of their professional formation in the modern situation, and showed that the formation and professional self-determination of a medical specialist is determined not only by internal motivation, but also by the influence of social agents (specific for each stage), the conditions of the social and professional environment.

Becoming a secondary school teacher: Keys to a meaningful professional identity

This study explores the construction of teachers' identities during their pre-service training and their initial period of professional induction. Thirteen life stories of novice teachers of differing characteristics attending the Master's Degree in Secondary Education Teaching at the University of Barcelona (Spain) are analysed. Findings identify four dimensions in identity construction (attribution, projection, development and transformation) and analyze their key components. The implications of the findings are discussed in terms of the dialectic between the professionalizing models in the training programme and the professional communities and teachers' specific personal processes of professional self-determination.

Improving the efficiency of the state youth policy by a project management method (on the example of the Irkutsk Oblast)

This study addresses the feasibility of adopting the Strategy of Youth Entrepreneurship Development in the Irkutsk Oblast for the period of up to 2030 in the context of digital economy. According to relevant data, specific features of youth entrepreneurship are outlined, and the necessity of its systemic support by regional executive and legislative authorities is noted. In the context of academic discourse on youth policy, an analysis of possible directions for launching various initiatives is conducted. Areas to be considered include civic initiatives, strengthening security measures, protecting, overcoming social exclusion, information enrichment, integration of modern technologies, and support in professional selfdetermination. Such multidimensional interventions seek to expand the horizons for young people and to promote their active social, economic, and cultural integration into public life. Particular attention is paid to the importance of supporting social and entrepreneurial youth projects, which form the basis for the development of digital economy and the small-business sector in the Russian state. The research methodology included comparative-legal and historical approaches, the method of deduction and induction, and a formal-legal approach with the application of other scientific cognition methods. Additionally, the conclusion is made that the improvement of youth policy in the context of youth entrepreneurship is possible only based on a comprehensive approach. The latter implies supporting measures of the current legislation, as well as the formation of a positive public opinion on the entrepreneur image through a specialized youth community, such as a Club of young entrepreneurs.

“OSINT-technologies” as an Educational Component of the Speciality “Information, Library and Archival Management”: Pedagogical Objectives

The aim of the article is to highlight the pedagogical objectives study of the educational component “OSINT-technologies” by the Master’s degree students of speciality “Information, Library and Archives Manahement” in the formation of its competence basis and perspectives of personal and professional self-determination of education seekers. Research methods. The following methods were used: survey was applied to identify the achievement of pedagogical goals in forming professional self-determination, self-actualisation and individual development by the students of the educational component “OSINT-technologies”, as well as comparing the competencies of students of the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Scientific novelty. The specificity of the pedagogical objectives study of the educational component “OSINT-technology” was revealed; being relevant and in demand on the professional activity market, in modern conditions it can become a factor in activating psychological mechanisms of professional self-determination of the Master’s degree applicants. Main conclusions. “OSINT-technologies” (intelligence based on open sources) is a tool of information and analytical support of decision-making in many areas of social practice. Information and analytical competencies grounding among the students in speciality “Information, Library and Archives Management” in OSINT activities as a field of information analytics can become a factor in meeting the labor market demand for professionals in this field. The results of the survey of the 2nd-year Master’s degree students in the “Information, Library and Archives Managament” speciality proved the necessary value of knowledge, skills and competences acquired due to the educational component “OSINT-technologies”, revealed the impact on further professional self-determination of the applicants and their desire to use the needed knowledge in their current professional activity. In the context of dynamic development of the labour market and actualisation of new activity areas, the concept of pedagogical goal-setting in the training of modern specialists involves the implementation of not only normative parameters of education (planned competencies, studying outcomes, abilities and skills), but also outlines vectors of the students’ self-determination and self-actualisation in the formation of their ways for further career future development.

SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE IN MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS’ EARLY PROFESSIONAL SELF-DETERMINATION THROUGH “CAREER ACADEMY”

This research article delves into the multifaceted landscape of supporting and guiding middle school students in their early professional self-determination. It begins with an introduction highlighting the significance of this developmental phase and outlines various initiatives aimed at providing comprehensive support to middle school students as they navigate career exploration and decision-making. The literature review section synthesizes diverse perspectives on professional self-determination, offering insights from scholars such as Super, Bozhovich, and Kustov. The study identifies subjective and objective factors influencing career choices and discusses their impact on middle school students' professional self-determination. Furthermore, it explores the results of a diagnostic survey conducted among middle school students, revealing prevalent inclinations towards specific types of professions. The research findings underscore the need for targeted support to enhance middle school students' readiness for career decision-making. Lastly, the article concludes by emphasizing the importance of implementing psychological and pedagogical support systems within educational institutions to facilitate informed career choices among high school middle school students.

The article examines the possibilities and conditions of institutions for additional education in the formation of professional self-determination of children and youth in the process of pre-professional training, analyzes issues on the organization of professional selfdetermination. Examples of forms and methods of career counselling are given, a wide range of variable educational programs focused on deep research and creative work with children is analyzed. Revealing the potential of additional education, the author identifies positions that assist students in choosing a profession, and also concludes that the use of additional classes in various types of creative activity is an important condition for professional self-determination of students and development of positive personality qualities. Early career counselling helps the child to determine his place in the future and succeed as a person.

Проект «Педагогическая школа»: путь к пониманию профессии учителя

The article reviews the "Pedagogical School" project, created and implemented in the State Budgetary Institution of Additional Professional Education "Center for Continuous Development of Professional Mastery of Teaching Staff" of the Ministry of Enlightenment and Science of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic in order to familiarize students of educational institutions of higher education with the main aspects of the teaching profession and provide them with the opportunity to consider teaching as a potential profession. The article examines the main aspects of the project, its goals and objectives, analyzes the results of the project and its impact on the professional self-determination of participants.

The article substantiates the relevance of the development of additional education for children in rural areas; presents a brief history of the formation and analysis of the current situation in the field of additional education for children in the Leskensky municipal district of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic; it identifies the importance of additional education in the professional self-determination of youth; the pivot table shows the main achievements of children and the number of participants in competitions at various levels. As a result of the research, some promising directions for the development of additional education at the municipal level have been identified.
