Ethnoscience Learning Ideas Oriented to Outcome Base Education (OBE) to Foster Entrepreneurial Competency

This study recommends OBE-oriented ethnoscience learning to foster entrepreneurial competence carried out with 6 stages of learning namely ethnoscience observation activities. ethnoscience analysis, product ideas, production trials, production cost analysis and product presentation/presentation. This learning model is further introduced by the author as ethnoedusciencepreneurship. This learning step is relevant to the main outputs/outcomes of science learning, namely Content Knowledge (HBS1): Inquiry Skills and Scientific Processes (HBS2): Laboratory Engineering and Safety (HBS3): Science Communication (HBS4): Critical Thinking and Problem Solving (HBS5): Scientific Literacy and Ethical Considerations (HBS6): Lifelong Learning and Scientific Investigation (HBS7). The learning step can accommodate the needs of developing entrepreneurial competencies in students referring to SKKNI Number 53 of 2014 concerning Industrial Entrepreneurship.

Review Mate: A Cutting-Edge Model for Analyzing the Sentiment of Online Customer Product Reviews using ML.NET

E-commerce has become increasingly important in recent years due to several factors such as convenience, global reach, lower costs, personalization and uninterrupted access. In e-commerce, product reviews by customers can significantly impact purchasing behavior by providing social proof, establishing trust, aiding decision-making, improving search engine optimization, and increasing sales. Conducting an evaluation of the primary impacts of customer reviews on purchasing behavior through automated machine learning techniques has the potential to facilitate the advancement of diverse online business models. In this scope, we come with a new machine-learning model for evaluating customer sentiment based on product reviews. To this aim, a dataset consisting of 1000 positive and 1000 negative customer reviews was created by collecting publicly shared comments from online shopping websites serving in Turkey with a data collection tool developed by our research group. The model development was carried out on ML.NET, an open-source and cross-platform machine learning framework. In order to reach the most efficient model, a total of 36 machine learning models were explored for the solution of the problem within the scope of the experimental study. As a result, the model named Lbfgs Logistic Regression Binary was found to be the most efficient. The related model provided an accuracy rate of 94.76%. An API service called Review Mate has been developed to expand the potential impact of the proposed machine learning model and enable its use in different online business models. According to the findings, the proposed method outperforms the previous approach in terms of classification performance and also provides avenues for the discovery of new product ideas.

«Cвітова річ» Олени Пчілки у вимірах метадраматичної парадигми

The article analyzes Olena Pchilka’s play “The World Thing” in the light of metadrama theory. Even though traditionally metadramatic aesthetics is considered incompatible with the poetics of realism, the work of the Ukrainian author has become an example of the active use of various metadramatic elements. Methodology. The principles of metadramatic analysis are applied in the research and contribute to a deeper understanding of the Ukrainian national drama of the late 19th century, revealing the nature of the interaction between the cultural context, folklore, dramatic traditions, and reading performative techniques. The latter are important factors of theatricalization and are realized at the level of individual cues, through internal staging and are a means of synthesizing metadramatic and realistic aesthetics. The scientific novelty is that this methodology has been applied for the first time to a little-studied play by Olena Pchilka. The purpose of the article. The article aims to demonstrate the peculiarities of combining traditional and innovative elements in the work by Olena Pchilka in the context of the development of Ukrainian metadrama in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Results. The play “The World’s Thing” depicts the birth of the idea of a theatrical production that has the potential of an inner play. The metacritical discourse is realized through the discussion about theatrical trends, acting roles (emploi), and the purpose of the theater. Anti-theatrical discussions have also a metadramatic character for they debunk everyday acting. Metadramatic poetics is based on performative elements: staging or reflection on wooing rituals, weddings, funerals, etc. Conclusions. The wedding and the trial, although not shown in the play, are phantom performances that, through constant reference to them in the characters’ remarks, contribute to the activation of cultural memory and the doubling of stage reality. The audience also acts as a metadramatic factor, whose reaction to the actions of the main characters becomes a moral and ethical catalyst.

Value Co-Creation In E-Commerce Platforms: The Role Of Personality Traits And Trust

Abstract Research background It is important for companies to pay attention to the value of co-creation in order to encourage innovation and the development of new products where the source of ideas for innovation and new products comes from consumers. Participation in value co-creation is voluntary and depends on the consumer’s willingness to be involved, so there needs to be motivation within the consumer to carry out value co-creation. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the consumer’s personality which can encourage co-creation. Purpose This study aims to analyze the factors that influence online value co-creation in e-commerce platforms. This study attempts to examine the value co-creation that occurs online by emphasizing the interaction between consumers. In addition, the researcher examines the role of personality traits on value co-creation. Research methodology The population in this study are consumers aged 16 to more than 40 years who have experience in purchasing products in e-commerce and have given ratings, reviews, or comments on products and services in e-commerce. The Purposive sampling technique was used to select the sample of 152 consumers. PLS-SEM was used as an analytical technique. Results The results reflect that personality traits and beliefs are the driving factors for online co-creation. This study also reveals that trust does not act as a mediator in the influence of personality traits on value co-creation. Conscientiousness is the dominant trait in the influence of personality traits on trust and value co-creation. This study only uses two dimensions of personality traits, namely conscientiousness and agreeableness. Future research should consider using the five dimensions of personality traits. The implication of this research is to enrich knowledge about the factors that influence the occurrence of value co-creation online and it is projected for marketers to provide ease of use features for further co-creation. Novelty This research discusses interactions between consumers in e-commerce as a form of co-creation that has not been widely done.

Recent Advances and Challenges in the Production of Hydroxylated Natural Products Using Microorganisms

Hydroxylation reaction is a significant source of structural diversity in natural products (NPs), playing a crucial role in improving the bioactivity, solubility, and stability of natural product molecules. This review summarizes the latest research progress in the field of natural product hydroxylation, focusing on several key hydroxylases involved in the biosynthesis of NPs, including cytochrome P450 monooxygenases, α-ketoglutarate-dependent hydroxylases, and flavin-dependent monooxygenases. These enzymes achieve selective hydroxylation modification of various NPs, such as terpenoids, flavonoids, and steroids, through different catalytic mechanisms. This review systematically summarizes the recent advances on the hydroxylation of NPs, such as amino acids, steroids, terpenoids, lipids, and phenylpropanoids, demonstrating the potential of synthetic biology strategies in constructing artificial biosynthetic pathways and producing hydroxylated natural product derivatives. Through metabolic engineering, enzyme engineering, genetic engineering, and synthetic biology combined with artificial intelligence-assisted technologies, a series of engineered strains have been successfully constructed for the efficient production of hydroxylated NPs and their derivatives, achieving efficient synthesis of hydroxylated NPs. This has provided new avenues for drug development, functional food, and biomaterial production and has also offered new ideas for the industrial production of these compounds. In the future, integrating artificial synthetic pathway design, enzyme directed evolution, dynamic regulation, and artificial intelligence technology is expected to further expand the application of enzyme-catalyzed hydroxylation reactions in the green synthesis of complex NPs, promoting research on natural product hydroxylation to new heights.

Game Analysis of Customers' Participation in New Product Conceptions Selection Based on Separation Sequential Equilibrium

ABSTRACTCustomer participation in new product development (NPD) has various advantages and disadvantages, research has proven that its beneficial factors are more in the early stages. The key in the initial phase of NPD is to understand the real needs of customers. In recent years, research in this field has been done mainly through questionnaires or data mining. However, most of the research have ignored the fact that customer preferences are private information and the influence of different customer groups on their willingness to participate. Because the selection of new product ideas takes place in the early stages of NPD and the degree of advance of customers is also an important parameter that indicates their willingness to cooperate in NPD activities, this paper will study the mechanism of private transfer of customers. Preferences will be considered in the selection phase of NPD concepts and their top grade. Results showed that the leading customers have reasonable motivation to participate in new product development, and advanced customers are more willing to express their product viewpoints.

Building more entrepreneurial organizations through external innovation contests

AbstractFirms are increasingly adopting innovation contests to obtain ideas for new products and services from external parties, but many firms may not be sufficiently entrepreneurial to benefit from those ideas. Using an inductive longitudinal case study of three financial service firms, we explore the value of external innovation contests for less entrepreneurial and stagnant firms. Our findings indicate that stagnant firms indeed struggle to benefit from ideas generated through external innovation contests. However, we also show that firms undergo a structural change process toward higher entrepreneurial orientation through such contests. In particular, they become aware of an organizational readiness gap and act on it by (i) developing entrepreneurial skills, (ii) collaborating with external partners, and (iii) adapting organizational design and governance. Based on our findings, we propose an original framework for a corporate entrepreneurial learning process triggered by the innovation contest experience.

Efficient photocatalytic production of H2O2 over K-doped carbon nitride via magnetic field-modulated oxygen reduction

Photocatalytic oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) represents a clean and sustainable strategy for hydrogen peroxidation (H2O2) production, yet it faces challenges including charge transfer and activation of O₂. The introduced of alkali metal doping and cyano group defects into C3N4 will improve the charge carrier separation efficiency and optimize the ORR pathway, thus facilitating H2O2 production over C3N4. In this study, we prepared K-doped and cyanide-modified carbon nitride (Kx-CN) using a simple potassium salt-assisted thermal copolymerization strategy. The H2O2 formation rate of K5-CN reached at 876.7 μM g−1 h−1, about 5.5 times that of the original C3N4. Moreover, the photocatalytic ORR pathway was modulated by an external magnetic field, which further increased the H2O2 yield to 2208.2 μM g−¹ h−¹. Meanwhile, the regulation of furfural oxidation products was achieved through the application of magnetic fields. This work highlights the significant role of the external magnetic field in exciton dissociation and ORR pathway regulation, providing a new idea for the efficient H2O2 production.

Possibilities for the Application of Artificial Intelligence Systems in the Education of Students of Pedagogical Specialties

This paper is based on a study of the possibilities of using artificial intelligence systems in music education within the degree courses of “Preschool and primary education” and “Primary education and foreign languages.” It is known that in the process of music education without special musical training, future educators as well as teachers face certain challenges. The variety of artificial intelligence systems creates conditions for music education that are more accessible and applicable in different areas of music practice. The focus of this research is music learning through interaction with music generation systems, in which the learner assumes a new role: from perceiving and performing music, he/she becomes a co-author and co-creator of a musical piece with all the peculiarities and regularities of musical language. The idea of a musical product thus acquires a new meaning and the students develop not only their musical creativity but also their digital competencies.

External Direct Product JU-Algebras

Lingcong and Endam introduced the idea of the direct product of a finite family of B-algebras. In this paper, we introduce the concept of the direct product of an infinite family of JU-algebras, which we call the external direct product. This is a general concept of the direct product in the sense of Lingcong and Endam. The result is based on different types of subsets of JU-algebras. These include JU-subalgebras, JU-ideals, p-ideals, t-ideals, strong JU-ideals, JU-filters, comparative JU-filters, and implicative JU-filters. Also, we introduce the concept of the weak direct product of JU-algebras. Finally, we provide several fundamental theorems of (anti-)JU-homomorphisms in view of the external direct product JU-algebras.

Being left behind beyond recovery: ‘crip time’ and chronic illness in neoliberal academia

ABSTRACT In this paper, we use crip time to reflect on being left behind in relation to normative temporalities, based on our experiences of living with Energy Limiting Conditions (ELC) while at different career stages working within and in collaboration with UK academia. Chronic illness has a profound and long-lasting impact on people’s lives, and for many conditions there is currently no prospect of recovery. Living with ELC often demands careful pacing of activity; navigating spaces and institutional structures designed for ‘normative’ bodyminds often takes longer, leaving many of us out of sync with normative temporalities, and some of us excluded altogether. Crip time is an approach that recognizes that disability and chronic illness often involve reorientations in time and, like queer time, crip time also troubles ideas of productivity and of the future. In this paper, we use crip time to explore the ways in which we, as chronically ill academics, are left behind in a sector characterized by a drive to hyper-productivity. In so doing, we consider how academic normative temporalities leave behind those whose bodyminds work differently, and explore the possibilities crip time might offer to imagine more inclusive practices.

Urgency of Implementing Indonesian Halal Certification in International Trade (Case Study of Chicken Meat Imports from Brazil)

Discussions regarding the halal industry have been very prominent in recent years. Therefore, many issues related to the halal industry are written about and used as research objects. Halal products must have certain specifications so they can play in the halal market. These specifications require certain qualifications that are closely related to halal standards. This research aims to explain the urgency of implementing halal certification in Indonesia in international trade (case study of chicken meat imports from Brazil). The first research result is that as a global food organization, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has the idea of halal products. Nevertheless, FAO's main focus is currently limited to food products. FAO has not fully protected regulations relating to the guarantee of halal products for countries around the world. FAO provides ratification to each country regarding halal product regulatory policies. The only FAO requirement is that the exporting country must receive halal certification to demonstrate that the product is halal, although this can still be requested by the importing country. The second is that Indonesia has stipulated that although not all products in circulation must have halal certification, some must. Article 135 PP No. 39 of 2021 and Article 125 PP No. 39 of 2021.

Insect-Based Foods: A Preliminary Qualitative Study Exploring Factors Affecting Acceptance and New Product Development Ideas through Focus Groups

While insect-based foods could contribute towards sustainable protein consumption and production, their successful adoption relies largely on consumer acceptance. This case study aims to explore factors affecting acceptance and to identify the insect-based foods that participants would like to be developed and introduced to the market. Three focus groups incorporating optional tasting sessions of insect-based foods were conducted in Ireland, a country where these foods were unavailable at the time of the study. Findings showed that before the tasting sessions, public opinion, portion size comparisons (insects vs. meat), and witnessing entomophagy-related disturbing experiences through television were some of the factors that negatively influenced acceptance. Lack of availability in Ireland was the main factor that hindered consumption among participants willing to consume these foods. Participants’ usual food choice motives, sensory attributes, and inclusion percentages of insects in food were some factors which affected acceptance following the tasting sessions. A variety of insect-based foods was suggested for product development, which were mostly components of a main meal. The findings of this study could give an initial indication of product ideas that could be explored further for product development in regions where insect-based foods are not readily available on the market. These findings could contribute to future studies that would aim to build quantitative tools.

Research on Intelligent Digital Manufacturing Platform Based on Artificial Intelligence Deep Neural Network

In today’s information age, intelligent manufacturing has become a significant trend of future industrial development. The neural network plays a vital role as the basis of smart manufacturing. This is a kind of intelligent algorithm that can simulate human brain organization, with strong learning ability and computing power, and has achieved remarkable results in the application field; the most typical representative is deep neural network, especially in recent years, an artificial intelligence developed based on deep neural network has entered the application stage, providing a new idea and model for industrial production. Based on this, taking the clothing production process as an example, this paper combined transfer learning and network fine-tuning technology to build a Faster RCNN model based on the ResNet-101 network to realize the positioning and recognition of clothing style map features and create an intelligent generation platform for clothing process flow on this basis.

Effect of Crystal Rotation on Melt Convection and Resistivity Distribution in 200 mm Floating Zone Silicon Single Crystal Growth.

Floating silicon is particularly suitable for the production of power devices and detectors due to its high purity and high resistivity. However, when the crystal diameter increases to 200 mm, the inhomogeneous distribution of dopants in the radial direction of the crystal becomes an important factor affecting the quality of the crystal. In this paper, the melt flow and crystal interface dopant distribution of 200 mm floating zone silicon under different crystal rotation modes using 2D axisymmetric models was calculated. In the simulation, the crystal rotates unidirectionally clockwise or alternates between clockwise and counterclockwise rotations and is compared with the corresponding experimental results. The results of alternate rotation show a significant improvement in the distribution of resistivity, which is explained from the perspective of melt flow, providing ideas for the industrial production of high-quality FZ silicon crystals.

Meat fans' and meat reducers' attitudes towards meat consumption and hybrid meat products in the UK: a cluster analysis

SummaryMeat reduction, rather than total elimination, is emerging as a popular trend that fulfils most consumer demands. In this study, using survey results from 802 United Kingdom residents, we identified distinct groups of consumers based on their meat consumption habits and explored their attitudes towards meat reduction and their perception of hybrid meat products. Two distinct consumer segments were identified, named ‘fans’ and ‘reducers’. ‘Fans’ were unwilling to reduce their meat consumption, considering it a right that makes them feel good. They were more optimistic regarding environmental concerns and less enthusiastic about the idea of hybrid meat products. On the other hand, ‘reducers’, although they consumed meat, expressed feeling bad about it and reported high levels of environmental concerns. These differences were also reflected in their willingness to eat and buy hybrid meat products, as well as the desired type of meat and meat‐to‐plant‐based ratio in their chosen hybrid meat.

Bridging Professional Practice and Academia: Using the Pilot Study as a Practice-Based Pedagogy in an EdD Program

Professional practice doctoral education is distinguished by its focus on practice-based pedagogies aimed at fostering students’ development as researching professionals—individuals who are adept at using evidence to tackle educational issues. To advance students’ research competence, the doctoral study should facilitate the integration of theoretical knowledge acquired in the program with their professional worlds, a process that can be considered as boundary crossing. Drawing upon the theory of boundary crossing, we used the pilot study as a practice-based pedagogy in an EdD course, which aims to link students’ professional practice with their developing scholarly practice. We explored how students encountered the boundary between professional practice and academia and how they navigated the tensions inherent in this boundary-crossing process. We found that the pilot study served as a boundary object, generating tensions at the boundary between students’ professional and academic worlds. In navigating the tensions, students utilized research as a mediating tool, leveraging productive dissonance, reflection, and idea sharing within Critical Friends groups. We draw implications about the use of the pilot study in professional practice programs to support students in their transition from practitioners to scholarly practitioners and researchers.

Product Idea Generation Strategy and Performance of Tier III Commercial Banks in Kenya

The aim of this study is to analyses the association between product idea generation strategy and performance of tier III commercial banks in Kenya. The reason for conducting this study is informed by the poor performance of Tier III commercial banks in Kenya. The study was guided by theory of new product development. The study was guided by explanatory research design. The target population involved 276 employees from 20 tier III commercial banks in Kenya. The research used Cochran formula to calculate the sample size which yielded 163 respondents who were selected using stratified random sampling design. The research used structured questionnaire as instrument of data collection. Data collected was analysed using quantitative methods. Data collected was analysed using quantitative methods. The study found out that there was significant positive relationship between idea generation and organisation performance (p<0.05). The paper recommends that a broad-based idea generation strategy to be incorporated by commercial banks to raise their performance

Interthinking in asynchronous online talk: A study of Hong Kong English as a second language learners

Engaging in productive forms of classroom talk has been shown to positively impact students’ thinking and language exposure. To maximize the effects of classroom talk on students who learn English as a second language (ESL) and to create more learning opportunities by leveraging the affordances of dialogic teaching in enabling interthinking, this study set out to explore the influence of asynchronous online talk on students’ thinking through a micro-blogging tool, Padlet. Twenty-five students from a local secondary school were recruited. They were asked to post their views on current news articles and conduct dialogues with one another through the commenting function. After the discussion, the students were invited to self-evaluate the process of the discussion. Five students were also invited to participate in semi-structured interviews. Results indicated that the asynchronous online talk had the potential to broaden and deepen students’ thinking through the creation and maintenance of their intermental development zone (IDZ). The talk also facilitated the internalization of co-constructed ideas for individual production. Drawing from these findings, it is recommended that the conceptualization of interthinking could capitalize on students’ self-evaluation and that the evaluative stage could be structured in interactive tasks in future instructional practices.

Continuous fibers featuring high phase change enthalpy fabricated by melt spinning for thermal management

High performance continuous phase change fibers are of great significance to promote the development and application of functional fibers. But, it is still a challenge to fabricate continuous phase change fibers with high phase transition enthalpy. Herein, a kind of continuous polyurethane phase change fibers (PUPCFs) was first reported which was prepared through melt spinning from the synthesized polyurethane phase change materials (PUPCMs). PUPCFs not only overcomes the leakage problem of phase change materials, but also exhibits high latent heat (110.54 J/g), superior mechanical properties (maximum strain, ∼141.83 %), outstanding fatigue resistance, and good thermal cycle stability. Furthermore, a phase change thermoregulation textile (PUPCT/PDMS) with high enthalpy, hydrophobicity and breathability can be obtained by weaving PUPCFs and then coating with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). This work can provide a new idea for efficient and economical production of continuous phase change fibers and opens up opportunities for wearable thermal management textiles.
