Obtaining preset properties in the hydrogenation process by controlling the state of phase boundary

The introduction of science-intensive technologies that ensure a high level of energy content and restoration of ecological balance in places of extraction and processing of commercial resources is the main condition for the successful development of independent Kazakhstan. This paper concentrates on challenges of studying the mechanisms of chemical effects on oil-reservoir rocks functioning in order to increase oil recovery. Relevance of addressing the challenges is determined by necessity to increase profitability of fossil hydrocarbons mining. Environmental Safety in Mining and Processing of Mineral Raw Materials under the Conditions of Rational Nature Management as Exemplified by the Kursk Magnetic Anomaly Region

Objectives: This study represents the analysis of technogenic and biosphere conceptions from the perspectives of the environmental problems of mining and reprocessing of mineral raw materials in Russia and other countries. Methods: The fundamental conceptual complex approach has been identified to solve the ecological problems of mining and processing of minerals taking into account the conditions of rational nature management using the example of the Kursk Magnetic Anomaly (KMA). Findings: Based on the developed concept it has been suggested that a Single Regional Environmental Protection Center should be established that would formulate and implement the complex approach to solve the regional problems making it possible to identify the conditions for the well-balanced methods of fulfilling the environmental engineering tasks of various profiles and to facilitate economic and social development of the promising mineral producing regions of the country, particularly, the region of the KMA. Applications/Improvements: The study suggests the examples of the innovative solutions to solve the problems of rehabilitation and support of the environment in the KMA region.

Rationalization of Raw Materials and Fuel and Energy Base of the Construction Industry of Kazakhstan Industrial Regions

The article deals with an actual problem - the rationalization of raw materials and fuel and energy base of the construction industry of Kazakhstan industrial regions. It covers the basic principles of rational use of natural resources and the comprehensive processing of mineral raw materials as elements of the state strategy, as well as statistics on investments aimed at environmental protection, sustainable use of natural resources of Kazakhstan and the relevant costs by types of environmental activities. The article sets forth the theoretical basis and practical recommendations on the effective organization of the raw material base of the construction industry as the most material intensive industry capable of utilizing the largest volumes of industrial waste as the main raw material and additives for the production of building materials. A number of examples of successful use of large-tonnage industrial waste instead of the traditional raw materials ensuring environmental, economic, organizational and technological effects were provided. The measures for environmental protection and rational use of natural resources in the construction industry were recommended. The conditions for rational organization of the fuel and energy base of the construction industry, involving selection of the most efficient types of fuel, energy sources used in the construction production, as well as the most efficient schemes for providing energy resources to production processes, taking into account energy saving, were provided.

Design of an electromagnetic mill. Its technological and control system structures for dry milling

A modern industry could not operate without complex processing of mineral raw materials, supported by innovative technologies. That is the reason to design and create a new electromagnetic mill. The paper presents a design of its technological structure and control system. It is presented that, in relation to traditional solutions, the electromagnetic mill is a fully automated system, which affects the effectiveness of its operation. The effectiveness and efficiency of processes depend on a proper selection of the physical parameters of the system and process parameters. The device is characterized by low energy consumption.

THE COMPOSITION, MICROSTRUCTURE AND FEATURES OF Fe – Cu ALLOYS OBTAINED IN CARBON MOLD BY ARC

This article describes the arc method of obtaining Fe – Cu alloys from tin ore wastes. The questions are discussed connected with Bardin’s paradigm of waste-free processing of mineral raw materials. The technology of obtaining, composition and microstructure of alloys are investigated. The results have practical importance. It will be serious contribution into development of resource-saving technologies if results are implemented in industry.

Decomposition and Preconcentration Methods for the Determination of Pt, Pd, Re in Mineral Raw Materials

Nowadays the actual problem of geochemistry is a deep and complex processing of mineral raw materials. Data on the quantitative content of precious and rare metals in various types of ores and rocks are necessary. It stimulates the development and improvement of chemical analytical methods for determination of these elements. Such methods are not applicable without sample preparation stage. Preparation of samples for analysis is the decomposition and preconcentration of rare and precious metals from matrix of mineral raw materials. The sample preparation schemes of platinum, palladium and rhenium are described in this paper.

Some Ecological Problems of Development of Mineral Raw Materials in Amurskaya Oblast’

The paper considers some ecological problems of the gold-mining enterprise in Amurskaya Oblast’. The investigations have revealed the technogenic pollution of the soil-grounds, air basin, and vegetation under the action of the processing wastes. High concentrations of heavy metals were found in the soils and vegetation in the zone of influence of the plant processing heavy concentrates at a distance of 100 and more meters. They are 2 to 90 times higher than the background values practically in all directions from the technogenic object. High TM concentrations were found also in the soils of building zone. Using the innovation approach we have elaborated the measures for decreasing the pollution negative effect on the habitat. We propose a new way of reclamation of the lands disturbed by the wastes of the mineral raw material processing with the use of the mixed bark-compost of the forest industry wastes.

Development of the method for extraction of beryllium from genthelvite group of minerals under the conditions of processing of mineral raw materials

На основе термодинамических, кинетических исследований и методом математического планирования эксперимента выбрано оптимальное условие извлечения бериллия из мономинеральных образцов группы гентгельвинов с использованием растворов соляной кислоты при нагревании реакционной системы при температуре 80 0 С. Впервые предложен новый способ извлечения бериллия из группы минералов гентгельвина.

Mineral processing by the abrasive–reactive wear

We will focus on the important aspect of mechanochemical processing by grinding in a ball mill, namely, nanoscale wear of the treated minerals and of the milling tools (balls and drum walls). A new technology called abrasive–reactive wear has been developed that utilizes wear debris as an integral component of the reaction system rather than treating it as a harmful impurity. This technology is applied to the processing of mineral raw materials.

Processing mineral raw materials in Siberia: ores of molybdenum, tungsten, lead and gold

Problems related to the processing of mineral raw materials from Siberia (i.e. molybdenum-, tungsten-, lead- and gold-containing ores and concentrates) are reviewed. It is shown that hydrometallurgical methods for processing such raw materials are more advantageous than pyrometallurgical ones. For example, hydrometallurgical treatment of molybdenum and tungsten concentrates can be used industrially. Studies have shown that the recovery and concentration of molybdenum and tungsten from leach solutions can be effectively carried out using macroporous anion exchangers. Other studies show that nitric acid/iron(III) solutions are most efficient for leaching lead from lead sulfide concentrates. Metallic lead as well as lead-containing compounds can be produced by electrolysis of lead nitrate leach solutions. These solutions also provide a hydrometallurgical method for the oxidation of pyrite and arsenopyrite in gold-containing raw materials prior to the recovery of gold by complex-forming reactants. Salt decomposition of sulfides and dissolution of gold by non-cyanide complex-forming reagents can be used also for the recovery of gold from refractory arsenopyrite concentrates. Hydrometallurgical technologies recover about 93–98% of metals. Moreover, it is quite easy to improve production efficiency by modifying the design of the industrial equipment and by preventing the formation of environmentally harmful products.

Creation of superconducting magnetic separators for weakly magnetic mineral raw material processing

The paper describes the investigations to work out the design and process parameters of superconducting commercial separators using laboratory units. The design features of the magnet system and the cryostat of the separator of the disk type for wet separation of weakly magnetic ores and non-ore materials are presented. The results of modelling the technological flowsheets for separation of various types of weakly magnetic material using SC magnetic separators are given. The necessity to further improve the magnetic separators in the direction of generation of the magnetic flux higher magnetic forces and densities is well-grounded.
