Developing Videos Through Project-Based Learning: Improving Aviation Cadets’ Basic Airport Civil Engineering

This study aimed to explain project-based learning (PjBL) in the context of making airside and landside learning videos for aviation cadets and measure the effectiveness of the learning videos in improving their understanding of basic airport civil engineering material. This study used ADDIE development method to develop learning videos integrated in a project-based learning process with a quantitative approach. There were 48 cadets included in this study selected using a purposive sampling technique. A total of 24 cadets joined the control class taught using conventional learning method and a total of 24 cadets participated in the experimental class taught using PjBL by developing learning videos. Data were collected using needs analysis questionnaire, rating scale for understanding basic airport civil engineering material, and validation sheet. The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and t-test to address the research questions. Results showed that the cadets were able to develop valid learning videos through ADDIE procedure and they could increase their understanding on basic airport civil engineering significantly (F = 3.533; t = .969; p = .000).

Collective and Individual Self-Regulation Processes During a Project-Based Learning Process

In higher education, students are faced with group tasks, such as project-based learning. However, research on self-regulated learning has paid little attention to the details of collective self-regulation. In this framework, the objective of this research was to determine the impact of the feeling of collective efficacy on the performance of groups of students involved in self-regulation processes in project-based learning. The quantitative approach was adopted. The type of descriptive research and field design. The 45 volunteer participants of an education program at the National University of the Altiplano completed a questionnaire that explored different aspects of self-regulation: Use of human resources, setting objectives, collective efficacy, expression of disagreements, and quality of interactions. The questionnaire comprised 20 items rated on a Likert-type scale, ranging from 1 (strongly disagree) to 6 (strongly agree), and included two open-ended questions aimed at understanding strategies for managing doubts and maintaining interest int the project. The results show that the feeling of collective efficiency is a significant predictor of the final grade in the project and that the group’s ability to define the objectives precisely and prioritize them contributes significantly to the development of the feeling of collective efficacy. The conclusion exposes the pedagogical implications of these results, emphasizing the essential role of tutors in fostering an environment conducive to collective efficacy by guiding students in defining, prioritizing objectives, and managing doubts effectively. This guidance is crucial, especially in the early phases of project implementation, to establish a dynamic of collective efficacy and develop individual interest in the project.

Research on Project-Based Teaching Strategies for the Chinese Curriculum of International Baccalaureate (IB) based on the SAMR Model

In the digital era, there have been significant changes in international students’ Chinese language learning patterns and methods. The integration of information technology and project-based teaching not only promotes the demand for applications and learning media but also provides new opportunities to enhance student’s critical thinking abilities. However, project-based teaching of information technology and Chinese is prone to the misconception of seeking the most suitable application or learning medium for verification. The SAMR (Substitution, Augmentation, Modification and Redefinition) model is an educational model based on Bloom’s taxonomy of educational objectives for “creative” teaching. This information technology-integrated teaching method provides students with diverse learning experiences. The Chinese language course of the International Baccalaureate (IB) aims to cultivate students’ profound understanding of literature, language, and culture by providing a critical exploration learning experience in the field of language and literature. It encourages students to explore similarities and differences between different cultures, delve into topics or works of interest, and conduct independent language and literature research projects. The project-based learning approach helps students meet their further academic research and personal growth skills needs, cultivating them as language users and lifelong learners who are willing to explore and have critical thinking skills. The application exploration of the SAMR model in project-based teaching proposes relevant suggestions for the integration of information technology and Chinese teaching in the digital era and provides some new focus points for effective strategies and paths of IB Chinese teaching: encouraging teachers to improve students’ skills in collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking (4C) through advanced teaching at four different levels of SAMR model, flexible use of teaching rounds, creation of GRASPS teaching evaluation scenarios, and design of conceptual driving tasks, in order to achieve the improvement of language and literature construction and application abilities, and further promote the collaboration and autonomy of IB Chinese project-based learning process.

The Effect of Linguistic Landscape in Project-Based Learning on Students'Vocabulary Mastery: A Pre-Experimental Study

Based on the 21st century there are 6 skills of students that need to be developed such as: Critical thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, Culture/Citizenship, and Character education/connectivity. To achieve proficiency in a language, it is crucial to develop strong communication skills. For young learners, a good starting point is to focus on memorizing vocabulary, since this will enhance their fluency in speaking. Teaching vocabulary to young learners is challenging, though, as the teacher must utilize an effective teaching method that accommodates the needs of each student. This study focused on the effect of linguistic landscape in project-based learning on students’ vocabulary mastery. This study was conducted at SD Negeri 1 Banjar Jawa, the method used by the researcher was pre-experimental with pre-test and post-test as the instruments to collect the data. The result of this study demonstrated that using the linguistic landscape in project-based learning has a major impact on students' vocabulary mastery. Based on the findings of the pre-and post-tests, students' post-test scores increased significantly after their treatment. Students in class V.B. enthusiastically engaged in the project-based learning process, following its phases and ending in the creation of a linguistic landscape as a final product over the course of six meetings.

Project-Based Learning In Speaking Skills Of Class X MAN Batu City Students

Learning Arabic speaking skills is very important in learning a foreign language because language is a communication tool. However, students experience difficulties in developing Arabic speaking skills. This is due to the lack of student motivation and practice in speaking Arabic. So a project-based learning strategy is used to overcome this problem. This learning process can make students more active and creative in learning to speak Arabic. This research was conducted to describe project-based learning strategies in speaking skills in the Arabic language learning process for class X MAN Batu City students. This research method uses descriptive qualitative, namely describing the data obtained. The data sources in this research are teachers and students of class X MAN Batu City. The data analysis technique used in this research describes the results of observations, interviews, student product results and student responses to the learning process. The findings of this research are that the project-based learning process for class X students' speaking skills at MAN Batu City can stimulate motivation and enthusiasm for learning. In conclusion, project-based learning aims to solve problems and teach students to think critically in the product completion process. The steps that teachers can use in the project-based learning process are: 1) determine the basic problem, 2) create a project plan, 3) work on the project, 4) present the product results, 5) assess, and 6) evaluate. The product results are used as a student portfolio to determine their learning progress. This learning strategy can be practiced by teachers in the process of learning Arabic or other foreign languages.

Challenges of distance education: How to manage the pedagogical process of project-based learning

ABSTRACT The article addresses the challenges of distance education, i.e. how to manage the pedagogical process of project-based learning (PBL). The research objective was to use PBL as a teaching method where students learn by actively participating in a real professional task – preparing antenatal classes for future parents. We were also interested in developing recommendations for teachers and organisations using PBL in distance education. The study was conducted as mixed-methods research, using qualitative and quantitative data. Forty-four students and 131 future parents participated in the study. Results showed the importance of managing the PBL: learning environment, teamwork, mentoring and the use of information technologies and tools for learning purposes with appropriate didactic and learning strategies. The pedagogical process of PBL in distance education is based on interactive modelling of ICT and virtual reality with didactically integrating professional knowledge and skills in the virtual pedagogical process.

Analysis of Student Responses to Student Worksheets Based on Project Based Learning Models

Purpose of the study: This research aims to determine student responses to project-based learning in chemistry courses.
 Methodology: This research used mixed methods with a sequential explanatory design. The samples involved in this research were 90 students from the chemistry study program. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The instrument used to collect quantitative data was a questionnaire sheet distributed to students to measure responses, while the instrument to collect qualitative data was interviews conducted with chemistry students. Data analysis was carried out to process quantitative data based on descriptive statistics, and qualitative data was analyzed based on Miles and Huberman's theory and supported by documentation studies.
 Main Findings: The results obtained from this research are that chemistry students' responses to project-based learning are classified as good. The importance of the Project Based Learning Model (PjBL) lies in its ability to inspire active involvement in solving real problems, thus facilitating the development of critical and analytical thinking skills.
 Novelty/Originality of this study: The latest research is that the research sample involved was from the chemistry education study program to measure the response to project-based learning. This research is limited by only measuring responses, so researchers do not know the truth of the project-based learning process. So, recommendations that can be given in further research are to directly implement the project-based learning process to strengthen the questionnaire results in this research.

Project-Based Learning Model with Practicum Module Media in The Accounting Information Systems Course at The Economics Diploma Program, University Of Jambi

This research aims to solve the problem of the lack of teaching materials for courses that require special skills such as the Accounting Information Systems course which is one of the mainstay courses in the Diploma 3 Accounting Study Program at the University of Jambi. This research is an exploratory research with a Project-Based Learning approach by developing a practicum module that can be used as a practical tool for vocational students. The population and sample in this study were Diploma 3 Semester 5 students at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Jambi University. This research is expected to produce learning innovation output products that can be used by accounting lecturers to expedite the teaching and learning process such as CPMK (Course Learning Outcomes-Learning Outcomes), Lecture Syllabus and Contracts, Semester Learning Plans (RPS), Student Project Task Plans ( RTM) or student Project Worksheets (LKM) which are expected to be in the form of practicum module books with ISBNs that are published nationally, Learning Outcomes Assessment Sheets (LPHB) according to the project-based learning model or blueprints of exam questions and assessment rubrics which has been reviewed. The results of the study showed that students were able to complete core activities in groups very well. In the assessment of core activities on average, students excel in the aspect of active listening and are slightly weak in completing document reporting. However, overall it can be said that the average rating of each student is in the "Very Good" category. learning achievement reached 86.7% in the "Very Good" category. This means that the project-based learning process through group work in solving problems in the practicum module has proven to be very effective in the Accounting Information Systems course at the D3-Accounting Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Jambi.

Project-Based Entrepreneurship Learning for Vocational High School Students in Bekasi City

Entrepreneurial learning requires methods that generate students' intentions and motivation. The project-based practice method is an alternative method that is suitable for SMK students. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. Respondents were 7 students, 2 teachers and 2 principals. Data in the form of primary and secondary data, data taken through interviews and documentation. The data is processed through data collection, data reduction, data analysis and conclusions are drawn. Data is tested by triangulation technique. The research was conducted in 2 vocational schools in the city of Bekasi. The results showed that vocational students were able to make hand and face cleaning liquid products and create desktop and web-based PHP information system software applications. The project-based learning process is able to make students work and try to make a product so that they are expected to become reliable entrepreneurs

The Project-Based Learning Model Using Gamification to Enhance 21st Century Learners in Thailand

This research are develop the project-based learning model using gamification which can be used as a guideline to develop the project-based learning system using gamification to enhance 21st century learners through the six steps of project-based learning process and instruction activities using gamification; thereby, users can interact and exchange knowledge with one another through the social network, encouraging them to have creative thinking skills, which is needed for 21st century learners. The objectives of this research are (1) to study and synthesise the conceptual framework of the project-based learning model using gamification to enhance 21st century learners, (2) to develop the project-based learning model using gamification to enhance 21st century learners, and (3) to study the results after using the project-based learning model using gamification to enhance 21st century learners. The participants in this research include seven experts from various institutions, all of whom are specialised in design and development of instruction models and instruction systems. The research tools consist of (1) the project-based learning model using gamification to enhance 21st century learners, and (2) the evaluation form on the suitability of the project-based learning model using gamification to enhance 21st century learners. According to the results, which are in line with the expectation of the researchers, it is found that (1) the overall suitability of the development of the project-based learning model using gamification to enhance 21st century learners (overall elements) is at a very high level, and (2) the overall suitability of the development of the project-based learning model using gamification to enhance 21st century learners is at a very high level.

INTEGRATING MICRO PROJECT-BASED LEARNING TO IMPROVE CONCEPTUAL UNDERSTANDING AND CRUCIAL LEARNING SKILLS IN CHEMISTRY

Active participation in project-based learning (PBL) could develop students` knowledge and crucial learning skills across various disciplines. However, the implementation of PBL in the K-12 classroom is usually impeded by the step-by-step PBL cycle. Micro project-based learning (MPBL), which advocates and adheres to the learning principles and mechanisms of PBL with constraining the learning cycle in shorter periods, has been considered as a lightweight alternative to PBL process. As an exploration, this study explored the impact of MPBL on the conceptual understanding of sodium bicarbonate and the crucial learning skills in chemistry class at upper-secondary schools. The quasi-experimental research was implemented for 125 students, with an experimental group receiving MPBL teaching and a control group receiving conventional teaching. In the study, data including knowledge tests, crucial learning skills survey, and student interview were collected and analysed. The results indicated that MPBL was effective in the development of students’ conceptual understanding and crucial learning skills (i.e., communication and collaboration, information integration, independent learning, and problem-solving). The study will inform the pedagogical innovation in chemistry education and teaching practices in chemistry class. Project Based Learning (PBL) in English Drama Course: The Process and Its Impact on Students’ Speaking Skill

Project Based Learning (PBL) is a type of instruction whereby students spend a significant amount of time investigating and responding to a complex issue, problem, or challenge in order to learn knowledge and skills in the form of project. The objectives of this research were revealed the running process of PBL in English Drama course and investigated its impact on students’ speaking skill. This research was mixed-methods research, a case study at English Education Department of Universitas Borneo Tarakan. One lecturer and one class of students who attended the English Drama course served as the research subjects. This research collected quantitative and qualitative data such as documents, observation, and test. This data was analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively through coding and statistical analysis paired t-test. The results showed that the running process including Investigation, Planning, Implementation, and Reflection. The paired t-test result showed that Sig. 0.000 < 0.05, PBL implementation significantly enhances students' speaking abilities in English drama performance.

Needs Analysis for Developing Project-Based Learning Outcomes Assessment Models in Electricity Topic at the Center of Excellence Vocational High School

This study aims to analyze the needs of the project-based learning outcomes assessment model at the Center for Excellence in Vocational High Schools. The first step in the research is the development of Project-Based Learning Assessment Models. Electricity was chosen because it is one of the intersecting materials in the departments at Vocational High Schools. The survey method was chosen to collect information on the needs of the assessment model. The survey data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The mode of the survey data was used to draw the required model conclusions.The number of respondents who filled out the questionnaire was from 10 SMK-PK in DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten, and Lampung who applied Project-Based Learning in Practical Teaching. From the respondents' answers, it can be concluded that. Most schools require specific Guidelines for the Assessment of Project-based Learning yet to be made available. Most teachers require industry involvement in the creation of Practice-based Learning assignments. A large number of teachers need an assessment of the quality of assignments. Assessment of the Project-based Learning Process tends to be carried out at the implementation stage, while in the planning and reporting stages, it is carried out by a few teachers. The assessment tends to be carried out against groups with aspects assessed as competence and student performance. The assessment techniques carried out include written tests, observations, and portfolios. Standard sample documents required include Instrument Indicators and Rubrics.

Adversity Quotient in the Implementation of Project-Based Learning

The merdeka curriculum establishes project-based learning as a learning design for developing soft skills and student character to support the development of the Pancasila Student Profile character. As a new paradigm, students must be responsive in following the existing learning schemes in the merdekacurriculum structure. Therefore, a good Adversity Quotient is needed for students as a benchmark for psychological adaptability in facing learning obstacles and fulfilling learning outcomes according to the objectives of the merdeka curriculum. Therefore, this research focuses on the efforts of SMK Negeri 4 Malang to develop students' Adversity Quotient through project-based PAI learning. Through a qualitative approach and type of case study research, this research assembles a critical analysis that can unravel the root of the problem as well as efforts to develop an Adversity Quotient for students at SMKN 4 Malang so that it has implications for achieving learning objectives according to the mandate of the merdekacurriculum. Data was collected through interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies. Data analysis was performed using the interactive model Miles, Huberman and Saldana. This study concludes that students' Adversity Quotient can develop through four stages called DEAL (Listen, Explore, Analyze, Do). The four stages are empirically able to frame the axiological framework for developing Adversity Quotient in students during the project-based learning (PjBL) process at SMKN 4 Malang.

Pendampingan Pembelajaran Kreatif dengan Metode Project Based Learning di MTs Sunan Drajat Sugihwaras Kalitengah

The existence of the corona virus outbreak has hampered teaching and learning activities which usually take place face-to-face. Even so, this pandemic was able to accelerate education 4.0. The learning system is carried out remotely by utilizing information technology. However, there are major challenges in implementing the distance learning model. Project-based learning is a model of learning that is centered on students and provides a meaningful learning experience for students. Students' learning experiences and concepts are built based on the products produced in the project-based learning process. This learning is a method where students have a big role in learning, so in this method students are required to be creative, critical, collaborate, and communicate, this goal is an encouragement to improve the knowledge of the nation's children, when viewed from a global perspective with The sophistication of digitalization which has both positive and negative sides, large possibilities can change the setting of students to be active in learning with their respective capacities, not intending to suppress but to revive the capacity possessed by each student so that it is not monotonous in terms of learning, because each individual must have the ability for himself and others in particular, here also morality is not spared from it because from small things we can make a house in ourselves (willingness) on the other hand we live in the world not only to be silent then what God gives everything to us, if we don't have a move going into doing something

Teaching English for Academic Purposes Through Project-Based Learning Method and Process Writing Approach

English for Academic Purposes (EAP) has gained more prominence in the field of English Language Teaching (ELT) since its initiation in the 1980s. In Malaysia, a country where English is its second language, EAP is widely taught in many tertiary institutions. This is due to its main aim which is to focus on the communicative skills needed for academic purposes in formal educational settings to accomplish academic tasks such as delivering presentations, participating in academic discussions as well as writing academic and research essays. At USIM, EAP BIA3012 is a compulsory course introduced with the aim to develop students’ English proficiency and provide students with appropriate skills demanded in completing academic tasks at the tertiary level. The EAP course conducted at USIM employs the project-based learning (PBL) method, coupled with the process writing approach. This paper describes the application of both approaches in the implementation of EAP. The research project assigned to students will be explicated through its anatomy or structure according to PBL. Additionally, process writing, an approach to teaching writing that allows the students to undergo a journey of co-constructing texts under the guidance of the teachers, will also be clearly explained. In particular, this paper will outline the complicated and non-linear nature of writing shown through these elements—generating ideas, focusing, reviewing, evaluating, structuring, drafting—which are taught and completed through a project assigned to students.

THE LEARNING DESIGN TO IMPROVE THE LEARNING OUTCOMES ON THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT TOPIC

This study aims to determine the implementation of the project-based learning process on electrical energy topic in class VI and the improvement of student learning outcomes in science learning on electrical energy topic. This research was conducted on students of class VI with a total of 29 students consisting of 13 males and 16 females. There were three times of data collection in this study which included Pre-Cycle, Cycle 1, and Cycle 2. The results showed that the active involvement of students in learning activities could increase their understanding of the subject matter being taught. In addition, project-based learning by making series and parallel circuits in the implementation of making traffic lights makes students more enthusiastic and active in learning.

Project-based EFL learning at the tertiary level: Research, translation, creativity and interaction

Project-based learning (PBL) involves real-life-based use of investigative, interactive and creative tasks that extend beyond the classroom and culminate in authentic products. PBL can be used as a means to promote tertiary-level EFL learning, yet there is little research on the issue in Turkish higher education contexts. This study develops a PBL model with research, translation, creativity and interaction components for tertiary-level EFL preparatory class students and investigates its perceived effectiveness. The data were collected by questionnaires and interviews and analyzed through statistical and thematic analyses. The findings showed that there were significant differences in the students’ perceived competence in oral presentation skills, speaking fluency, speaking confidence, creativity in writing, creativity in visual or audiovisual output production, and time management before and after the treatment. Besides, thanks to PBL, the students were stated to experience research writing and translation. However, the PBL process was also found to be challenging due to the heavy workload. It is suggested the model be used in all kinds of EFL contexts including tertiary-level classes.

Effects of Interaction between Peer Assessment and Problem-Solving Tendencies on Students’ Learning Achievements and Collaboration in Mobile Technology-Supported Project-Based Learning

Project-based learning (PBL) aims to foster students’ problem-solving ability and collaboration by engaging them in completing a project in teams. Researchers have indicated the importance of guiding students to make comparisons and reflection during the process of project-based learning. Therefore, the present research proposed a peer assessment-based PBL (PA-PBL) approach to boost students’ PBL performances. To assess the effectiveness of the proposed approach, a quasi-experiment was conducted for 3 weeks. A total of 110 secondary students were divided into an experimental group learning with the PA-PBL approach and a control group learning with the conventional PBL (C-PBL) approach. The students’ problem-solving tendency, learning achievement, and collaboration tendency were evaluated. The experimental results indicated that the PA-PBL approach improved the students’ learning achievement, especially for those students with higher problem-solving tendency. In terms of collaboration tendency, it was found that the PA-PBL approach benefited the lower problem-solving tendency students more than the C-PBL approach, while there was no difference between the higher problem-solving tendency students in the two groups. The experimental results also indicated that the PA-PBL approach could better enhance students’ problem-solving tendencies than the C-PBL approach.

THE RELEVANCE OF ENTREPRENEURIAL EDUCATION TO STUDENTS INTENTION OF BUSINESS INTEREST

This article examines the relevance of entrepreneurial education at Islamic State University Alauddin Makassar, which organize to encourage the student's intention of business interests. This article applied a combination method of multiple linear regression analysis and scale ranges based on Likert Scale instruments. The sampling method is cluster sampling, with the population coming from students spread across various faculties at Islamic State University Alauddin Makassar. The study results showed that their entrepreneurial interest intentions were significantly and positively influenced by their knowledge level about entrepreneurship and the learning process that applied entrepreneurial practices. However, the student’s definition of entrepreneurship interest at Islamic State University Alauddin Makassar is still in the moderate category. It is influenced by the not optimal application of the entrepreneurial project-based learning process, which was carried out by all lecturers who gave lectures on entrepreneurship courses that caused the students not to get the entrepreneurship experience in their learning process. On the other hand, the learning process with project-based learning media provides a direct experience to students who can help the graduates' rates. Therefore, higher education should be able to create an ecosystem that can motivate the development of business actors among students.
